- Hold it!

[both men grunting]

[punch sound effect]

- I'm gonna bash that Indian's brains out.

- Hey drop that.

I said drop it!

Go on.

- Sure thing mate.

- [Crow] [moaning]

[thud]

[ominous music]

[sighs]

[both speaking at the same time]

- He k*lled my friend.

[laughing]

- Here

You say he k*lled somebody?

- Yes, my people think I do it.

Try to bring him to our council and make him say the truth.

Then you come.

- Oh why didn't you say so?

I wouldn't have interfered.

- I think you friend of Whiskey Jack.

- He's Whiskey Jack Slack?

- Sure, you know him?

- Well, I know about him.

- You know where he live?

- I know where he holds up sometimes.

Think maybe I'll go along there now.

- I go too?

- That's a pretty far piece on foot.

- I don't care.

- Alright you come along too.

- Hisa Crow!

- Keya I will come.

These are riders, Choctaw police.

They come for me.

- Why, for what Slack did?

- Yes

- Crow!

- We both make mistake.

[ominous music]

- Speak

- Two sleeps past I found my brother Tucty.

He's dead!

- How dead?

- By this, found it in the brush.

- It belongs him.

- Crow can speak.

- I do not k*ll Tucty.

He was my friend.

- This k*lled Tucty.

Is this yours?

- I met Tucty.

We buy rum from Whiskey Jack.

We drink.

I fall down, sleep.

When I wake up, Tucty is dead.

Whiskey Jack is gone, this is gone from my built.

- Tucty's magic pearl?

- Gone from his neck.

- You run away!

- [Crow] I go after Whiskey Jack.

I think I catch him with Tucty's pearl.

- You're on his trail when riders find you?

- Yes he was, in fact he caught the man.

- Bring him in.

Now speak

- [speaking Native American]

Wise chiefs of the Choctaw Nation.

This young man speaks true.

This morning I was traveling through the great forest

of the mighty Choctaws.

Man says this whiskey seller has k*lled before

and hast stolen many times.

Has Crow k*lled before?

Has he stolen?

I have spoken.

- We have heard.

By Choctaw law, only what we know to be true is true.

This we know.

Crow's with Tucty.

Crow drunk

Crow's ax k*lled Tucty.

Tucty's magic pearl stolen.

Crow run away.

Our riders find him with this man.

Now we judge.

[ominous music]

Six death stones.

- Death?

- The council has spoken.

You know the day.

[door closes]

- You spoke well for me.

- Didn't do much good.

How long you got?

- Time to live?

Until the full moon.

- Oh, three weeks I was afraid.

- The Choctaw cannot be k*lled before the full moon.

Hashi must have time, the moon spirit.

- What do you mean the man and the moon?

- So you call him.

Choctaws believe Hashi sees all, knows all.

If our council does wrong,

Hashi will show right before he turns his face away.

- Well I'm going after Whiskey Jack,

and if he is where I think he is,

I'll bring back either him or Tucty's pearl

before your time is up.

- Where is he?

- I think Nash is under the hill.

- Take me.

- Well how can you go, aren't you being held prisoner?

- No, I am free until the morning after the full moon.

Then I will come here.

- To be shot?

- Yes

- Why, who's going to make you come?

- Hashi, Hashi watches.

- Hashi.

Come on then.

- Maybe so Whiskey Jack don't come here either.

Already Hashi's face turns toward us.

- We'll find him.

He can't keep out of site forever.

- Half a moon is not forever.

- Forget the moon let's look around.

- I wait.

[thud]

- [Pinky] Well there's my bet.

I aint accusing nobody, but if a mess of aces wins again

I'm gonna chop me a crop of mustache brussels.

I don't care if a nose goes with them.

- You won

- Well it's about time.

- Where'd you get that knife, friend?

- Don't know if it's any of your business.

Oh, don't go blowing a fellar's head off

just on account of a ten dollar pig stabber.

Go ahead take the dang thing.

- Where'd you get it?

- I bought fair and square off of a friend of mine.

- Well here is your ten dollars.

And the belt comes with it.

- [Pink] Oh yeah sure, sure.

Open up Sugarpot.

- Oh it is you.

- Yeah these fellas want to know about that knife

you sold me.

- This one man.

Did you buy this from Whiskey Jack Slack?

- You all friends of his?

- Not likely but we sure like to find him,

and we'd pay for the pleasure.

- [Honeychild] Well now, come in.

- Oh not me, I've got nothing to do with this.

- See you later Pinky.

- Not if I can help it.

- Step right in.

Sit down, poor yourselves a drink.

[door closes]

My person sure gets frazzled

when she don't get out in company.

I ain't dare poke my nose out this door

for more than a week.

That man declared to k*ll me.

- Who Slack?

- [Woman] Nobody else.

Boy some dudes is sure bad losers.

- Why what happened?

- Well, he came a ranting and a roaring

into this place where I work.

- Yeah?

- Took a shying to me and before I could get rid of him,

he pored liquor all over me and tore a brand new dress.

Then he drunkered out.

So I helped myself to that knife

and some other trifles he had.

- You sure it was Whiskey Jack?

- That's who he declared himself to be.

Told the bar keep he was goin to cut my throat

and burn my house down.

Think he found me.

I'm hold up here.

I sure hope you find him.

- Oh we aim to.

- Thank you kindly gents.

Wouldn't take this if I was working.

- Goodnight doctor.

- Alright I'll keep him

I'll sleep on a pallet back of the lean-to.

- I'd allow he did.

- Well alright then.
