for the longest time,

because they're sort of,
like, singer-songwriter vibe.

And they're not, like, belters.
They're sort of chill singers.

I'm totally distracted

Yeah, my immediate family,

my immediate ohana,

It's just I had friends that,
you know, worked out there,

that lost everything.

When I came here for
battles, the fire at home started,

just slowly obliterated

pretty much this whole
historical town, Lahaina.

There's this venue
called Fleetwood's.

That was, like, one
of the first venues

that gave me a shot at
playing and performing there.

Now it's completely
gone. It's devastating.

It's gonna take probably
years to build that up again,

but it's just a tight-knit
community there.

I'm doing what I
can, calling friends

and seeing what they need.

It's a time for mourning,

but also, it's like a
time for rebuilding,

and I feel like I'm here,

where I'm supposed
to be, for a reason.

During the blind auditions,

I-I remember
Gwen turning for me.

♪ But listen carefully ♪

Didn't realize that Reba turned,

and then I saw the
block on the floor.

[ Laughter ]

I was like, "Holy smokes.
Gwen wanted me all to herself."

The more that I listened,
the more I was like,

"Oh, my God. This
guy is unique-sounding."

And it was so beautiful.

You're on my team
no matter what.

I am so stoked. Oh, my God.

It's very relaxed,

And that's what's impressive,
is that you don't lose your breath

and that you have the vibrato

and you have the
strength in those long notes.

It's like you're confessing.

It's building up to
this, like, "I want you."

Eli: This song makes me
think about my girlfriend.

Her name is Rachel.
She's an angel.

I've been with her for


She's always been
the biggest supporter

throughout my music journey,
through the thick and thin.

There are always
gonna be highs and lows.

My blind audition
was a little rocky.

I was super nervous, especially
when people turned around.

It was just such a
huge hit of dopamine

that it was like
uncontrollable emotion.

I'm pretty sure I cried.

the whole performance
went to another place.

Yeah, yeah, definitely.
But that's okay,

because you
already got two turns

and you're here to be coached.

I love that Gwen was able
to recognize that and say,

"We can work on that."
She can coach nerves.

Be a little bit more
intentional with, like, the lyrics.

Step away from, like, the
technical side of singing it.

I'm not really as
experienced, I guess, on stage.

Obviously, everyone's better
when they're alone in their room.

I still get nervous,
especially TV.

I mean, TV is...
There's no way around it,

and it's like a physical
thing will start happening

where you start not being
able to breathe and you...

[ Breathing heavily ]

You know what I
mean? And that's...

I did that for blinds.

When Eli started singing today,

I heard the reason
why I pressed my button.

He has an amazingly
beautiful tone.

I think he just really needs
to work on his body language

and get comfortable in his skin.

It's a confidence thing
that you know you have.

Like you said, everyone's
good in their bedroom,

but you are that good. Yeah.

I just heard you sing
it. You are that good.

I just think her ability to
teach others her confidence

is something that's
gonna help me big time.

Jason, you can feel your ease.
