yeah Jim trying let's just one of your
eyes why this is how the rains okay this
is what it looks like on the inside come
from Tallulah
do you know what a seismometer is
funding for zoom is provided by the

I'm here
oh my
Oh
oh my
hi Zoomers welcome to today's show we
get our ideas from kids all over the
country and today we want you to make a
list of all the different states the
ideas come from later you can go to the
Xoom website at pbskids.org to see if
you got them all but first here's the
zinger sent in by Jill G of Aetna Green
Indiana
that's Indiana and our first date for
today now do you think buzz can blow
this cotton ball off his nose well
that's the challenge of this zinger use
petroleum jelly to stick a cotton ball
to your nose and then see you can blow
of a cotton ball off your nose first
hey guys ready yeah not now get some for
me yep come on don't worry do it again
yeah yes ready oh yeah and you might get
set
really on whoa what's up what's that
let's go last stop David M of
Philadelphia Pennsylvania wanted to know
what's your food place to hang out my
favorite place to hang out is school
because I spend most of my time there
and a lot of my size of it my favorite
place to hang out is the ice rink I love
to skate wow there's a vault cave my
favorite place to hang out would
probably be pretty much anywhere just
like with my friends a sushi restaurant
my favorite place to hang out is the
barn because there was something
exciting going on and I love to ride my
favorite place to hang out is probably a
metric or a favorite place to hang out
is the mom because there's lots of
things to do that and I see many strange
people
you can probably figure out why this is
called the rainbow cake check out all
the colors the recipe was sent to our
sale EEOC's of Clayton California here's
what you'll need to make one white cake
batter divided into three bowls you can
use a store-bought cake next or you can
make it fast food coloring one can of
the Noah frosting what about keeping
clear that you did create your oven
according to the directions on your box
then glue your bundt cake now using
sticks to a drop of food coloring color
each bowl of that I'm coloring one bowl
rub one two three four five six and the
red one bite yellow on one blue
sometimes a lot of food color that's why
I paint some red solution
there's one more dress and then one
bright yellow one two three four five
oh that looks really cool then one two
one two three four
ah all right
oh the blue looks really nice
oh I like to go I love the smell of a
status isn't that stuff
now take a bundt pan and pour the red
daughter in the block you want to make
it pretty easy so hmm it looks a little
funky
then take your break yellow and spoon it
on top of the red banner
so that they don't know you really want
to refer they don't know the cotton
won't sit out really cool all right
and then you I want to spread it just a
little that the dole mix the batter off
and hope very much like rainbow now put
the blue banner on top of the brave
yellow green cool
do not move the back again don't
started mmm but you don't want a whole
lot okay then beat the case according to
the directions on the book when it's
cooked and cooled cut the cake in half
and set it up on its tab so it looks
like a lien when put it in half live
then it'll be off then
subs the map right on the side a yak is
formed two rainbows like that you can
Holly the vanilla frosting the same way
you colored the battle then slice the
cake so it looks such a rainbow on the
outside to see what it looks like on the
inside just out of sight
Wow
then that's kind of lucky that was so
cool
see this is what it looks like on the
inside come from some really rough
thrown out the gate really good
well our car is broken down I guess
we'll just have to walk the rest of the
way
whoo it's really hot here in the desert
to only bring one thing with you I'm
bringing my fan why because when it gets
hot I can cool myself off with a fan I'm
bringing my canteen why
so when I get hot I can get it in the
water good thinking I know altered the
card or Y so when I get hot I can roll
down the window
hi I'm Ricky TR 9 years old and welcome
to QB AK Alaska the wrath of God Alaska
is our special
it's very beautiful
and I've got the food
logical NASCAR homeschool also news is I
don't know specific my mom it's a
picture you know that actually thought
that's what I saw that's not what they
are France is gonna like a rich touch
instead learning about the panic that
water molecules like symmetry and become
stuff
each one a mile or two or one
for the water molecules please the
hydrogen Aquinas locks to each other and
when we do that they create a six-sided
path
you know all snowflakes are different
they're all based on the six-sided added
once you learn how to create your own
excited surface to visit the room
website
since then multiple times at home and
Hospital far away you've got the
students and me and keep the patch
but always have our website
that's part about finishing my school
they get to go outside
the reviews this book is a picture book
called snowflake friendly women by
Jacqueline Briggs Martin and illustrated
by Mary Azarian snowflakes Bentley is a
true story of Wilson Bentley
a man who spent his entire life studying
and photographing snowflakes here's with
Josh James John and Mark of New York had
to say about it we read the book as a
family last week we gave it four toes
total have a great books on the gym
website it is great how someone can
succeed at doing what he loves good
pictures too you have a favorite book
that you want to tell us about if you do
send your view - zoom socks three five
zero Boston a*s Oh - one three four or
to the zoo website at pbskids.org
don't forget to tell us what it's about
and why you love it do you know what a
seismometer is it's a machine that
measures earthquakes another movement
here's how you make a really simple one
that can detect movements that you're
making your house
the instructions were sent in by
Alexander Jay from Alexandria Virginia
after we make a seismometer we're going
to test it out here's what you'll need
to make one a cardboard box with its
flaps cut off across the cup a felt-tip
marker some string a cup of small rocks
some clay and some papers okay here's
how you make it first
take a box and open the top and then cut
off the flap after you've done that
using scissors take two holes near the
center of the top of the box make sure
they're kind of close to each other then
you want to take a plat in your plastic
cup and poke a hole in the bottom
like this one and a hole along the rim
and one exactly opposite that so the
kind of lineup right then you want to
take your marker and place it through
the bottom hole make sure the pointy
side is facing out so kappa'd right now
just so sit right on it then you keep
your clay you wrap it around the hole so
the market doesn't move so why don't I
do it on both sides
okay need to get settled inside I'll see
that your son popke sees us know that
this bit over there so she look like
that all right then - Jesus plays it
Scott
it doesn't need to be too long and run
it through a two holes
let's just put on the rim of the cup one
like that then take the string and put
it through the holes at the top of the
box how to make it so the string is
evenly inside that's officially what we
do you're gonna hang it yeah we aside
and we want to make it equal like the
string coming down more we want to make
it so that the tip of the marketís just
touches the bottom of the box
pop come business and I'm gonna pull it
up on me this cap already a little more
hotter higher just like that
okay okay now you want to fill your cup
about 3/4 of the way with something to
weigh it down
so Mike marbles or bolts or anything
have you aware we're going to use rocks
okay now yeah a little bit he's a
touching bum let's see that right now I
look in here just a little too high got
it that's not okay then cut a piece of
paper and put one end of it underneath
the marker make sure the marker is just
touching the bezel just touching yep
marches ready okay now so you're now
gonna tap it over coil okay really good
that's just like a huge earthquake hey
sister the Hasse like a right I did I
bang the box a lock here and then I
could sometimes when you dance really
hard it's bouncers let's see what that
looks like okay
plus the lockers not all the way in so
that's another way that's another how
you got dots on it oh yeah you are super
gonna find different ways to move the
box but like without touching it okay
what if we like condiment table well
somebody else pulled a piece paper out
there try on another table yeah all
right oh yeah let's put that down there
hmm tell you one um okay go ahead okay
and run it's a job
cuz it's bouncing it's going up and down
with ya their motto was going up and
down we look back it says in the box the
walk is going to ug but that looks
really dull is there anything else you
think might affected said besides
anomaly on keyboard the wait in the
company it bounced up and down in the
vision and them it was we did something
else to the cup
they said less rocks and more rocks that
might offer a lot Nick a seismometer at
home and try making some changes so that
it intersects really small booming like
singing or talking softly you can try
putting the holes in the box closer
together or add more ways to the cup if
you discover some changes that makes
your seismometer really sensitive be
sure they send a description of what you
did
here's a letter from Keller oh it was of
a cafe zoom we did called yogurt
parfaits and she also sent a picture
similar oops
scare DUIs i watch the show every
morning I love it I especially love
trying to recreate some of the recipes

on your list to start the game get a big
squishy ball and split up into two teams
the size of the goals will be for each

cross your legs behind you to score a
goal you can hand pull yourself along
and you know push the ball into the goal
