M welcome to Cafe Zoom today we're going

to make fruit leather sent in by Rachel

U of Sandy Utah here's what you'll need

one cup of chopped fruit I'm using

strawberries honey

plastic wrap a cookie sheet with a lip

and a blender ask your mom to use a

blender first or your dad here's what

you do preheat the oven to

140° then take your plastic rat and put

it over the top top of the cookie sheet

like this then take the

strawberries or the or any kind of fruit

you're using and put it into the

blender then take the honey

and pour it in

there I like honey I usually have it on

toast

okay make sure that before you start the

blender the cap is on

securely blend for 10 seconds or until

the fruit is

smooth so that's what the fruit looks

like all chopped

up Dy that looks Dum

okay make sure that before you take the

top off the blender you stop it

first okay pour it onto the cookie sheet

and smooth it

out

okay okay you want to smooth it out

evenly so it Cooks

evenly okay oh that looks

good oh

yeah

okay put it into the oven for 3 hours

hours or until the fruit is dry but put

your cooking mitts on

first here we

go

okay remember it takes a long time for

the fruit to cook in the oven but don't

turn up the heat to save time cuz all

that all that'll do is burn the

fruit once the fruit is dry I take it

out of the oven and set it aside to

cool you can make fruit leather using

all kinds of different fruits here's

some I made with

blueberries and here's some I made

that's all cool and ready to eat with

strawberries but all you got to do is

roll it

I've gotten up at this time every

Saturday to volunteer at a farmer's

market this might be the worst part of

the day but things do get

better this is a farmers market and it's

been going for 6 years and um Farmers

from all over Washington State come and

sell here it's one of the best in the

state I help set up the info

Booth I help some Farmers unload their

things I um answer questions that the

customers might have I just sort of help

out all around Market is ready to open

and because of that and I am the

official bell ringer I get to do my

favorite part of the day which is ring

this big honked Bell here so here we

go people from the city can learn where

their food comes from and who grows it

it's just it's a good place to just hang

out and eat and have fun it's wild

ginger oh

W I love coming to the market personally

I like the food this is my absolute

favorite sand at the whole market and

I'm going to try some lovely Italian

bread I just like eating all day long

golden raspberri

M that sounds

interesting oh PL very very good today

there is an apple tasting where lots of

the uh farmers will just submit some

apples and the public can come and taste

them I like the Fuji okay so

one one Cameo and one Fuji people come

and they can taste maybe um 20 30

different kinds of apples and um say

their favorite and we tally them up and

then give a prize to the farmer with the

best apple today's winner is Scarlet

my last money well where exactly did you

better do you remember when we did this

on Zoom well Amber M of South Amherst

Ohio tried this at home but she also

experimented with some other coins so

she inspired us to try this experiment

again but this time we're going to see

how many drops of water we can get to

stay on a penny and then compare it to a

quarter we're testing each of the coins

three times so just in case we mess up

on one of the coins we have two other

tests that we can use we have a chart so

that we can keep track of our data Lisa

how many drops of water do you think

you'll get to stay on your penny I don't

know let's see what one looks like and

then

yeah one one oh that's small I think

that there's a lot of room left so I

think I could get about 20 on 20 drops

what about you maybe

know but because what the water is

landing on is the surface area it's like

a fence the little Rim Yeah that's

something that maybe if cu the water

doesn't drip off because there's that

little rim on it if you take the penny

you put it on top of the quarter mhm see

how there's that like Crescent that's

still there I think that's about 1/3

larger than the penny so I think it

would be like one3 larger than that so I

think I could get 39

drops like 39 I think maybe

37 okay just to make sure it's not too

big and not too

small one one wow there's a lot to go 2

54 so let's look at the results I think

that my average amount of drops that I

could get on the penny would be around

32 because this is lower than 32 this is

right around it and this is higher so

that was really above my prediction for

the first thing mine would be well I

would cross out the nine because I

bumped it oh so it was a mistake and

then and it' probably be 26 on the

pennies because it's like in the middle

so that was above your prediction too

yeah and then on this one I think my

average I do the same way did this way I

think it would be around 50 cuz this is

right next to it this is below and this

is above so 50 is above it's like like

11 above my prediction well mine goes 20

30 50 so probably my average would be 40

because it's kind of in the middle so

the quarter always holds a lot more

water than the penny yep try to

experiment with this at home think of a

question that you'd like answered for

example does a dirty Penny hold as much

water as a clean one or does an old

Penny hold as much water as a new one

write down what you thought was going to

happen

that you're holding it with rub your

fingers like you have the

coin pretend to fling the coin into the

air and it looks like the coin

experiment I'll show you how you can

collect some data of your own ready

first we have to wait with your backpack

on then we'll have to r with off and

then the difference will be the weight

to the backpack because we can't just

weigh the backpack round it

boys in One group and all the girls in

another group and then we can see you as

have backpacks boys or girls right and

that answers most of our questions
