Carson: Hey, everybody,
this is "The Voice," the live

playoffs elimination show.
I'm Carson Daly. Thank you.

This is truly the night we've been waiting for.
Tonight, we're going to find out

which artists will represent their coach in the top 12.
But first, say hello to your

coaches, Adam Levine, everybody. Hi, Adam.

Mr. Cee Lo Green.

The lovely Christina Aguilera.

And entertainer of the year,
Blake Shelton.

[ Cheers and applause ] We will chat
with the coaches in just a few minutes.


The top two from each team with

the most votes will automatically
earn places in the live shows.

Then, our coaches will each have the difficult
decision of saving only one of their three

remaining artists. It's a big night
of eliminations, plus Maroon 5 is

here with their new single "Daylight."
And season 2 winner of "The

Voice," Jermaine Paul, will debut his
new song, "I believe in this life."

But before we get to it, let's take a look
at this incredible week of performances.

We've had two nights of amazing performances.
Every team is strong but my team

kicks other teams' asses.

After seeing what all the coaches have to offer
at this point, I have nothing to worry about.

You're a total star.

Dez looked like a true superstar.

Sylvia sang "The one that got away"

and I think she proved that she was definitely
the one that got away from the other coaches.

This season, it's particularly
hard for me to choose one person

[ sighs ] to save because no one
at this point deserves to go home.

Carson: Really great performances last night.
Something really cool happened,

every one of our artists charted on iTunes.
Excellent job.

We will see if those are enough to make them our
favorites. First, we will chat with the coaches.

We will start with Christina.
Good evening, Christina.

How did you think your team did last night?
I'm proud, as always.

Today it I know we're all in a cringe-worthy
moment. So it is going to be really,

really tough. I have got to
know them on a personal level.

I'm not looking forward to seeing two of my
people go home. There is going to come a time

tonight you will have to look at three remaining
artists and only be able to save one of them.

What are you going to take into
consideration to make that decision?

Well, you know, I have to consider what
chemistry we do have and tend of the day,

America makes that decision I have to make and
assess what's necessary to go forward, that we

still are a complete team and a cohesive
unit. That is what I will be thinking about.

Carson: Adam, no matter what
happens tonight, what do you

hope your artists gained from this experience?
What do you hope they take away

from the show? - Just realizing they
succeeded and there's no failure at this

point because you are one of the last five people
on that stage and people have got to know you.

They have fallen in love with you.
They know what your voice sounds

like, know what you look like, your personality.
I'm just happy to have a really

wonderful team and I think everyone
competed to this point really.

Now it's just a game. I want them to be happy
with where they have taken themselves to.

Carson: Blake, you probably

know the competition more so than the field.
How does your team stack up

against everybody else's? - I'm not taking
the high road when I talk about my team.

I think when you compare them, I think
my team really sets the bar this year.

I think you would have to take, like...
[ Cheers and applause ]

all the best artists from all the other
seasons and maybe take those five.

You're totally right.

You know a lot about bars.

The moment has come to find out the fate
of team Adam. After their incredible

performances Monday night, America voted.
Now, the two artists from each

team with the most votes will be
safe and remain in this competition.

And before we see who America saved, let's
take a look at those performances from Monday.

Everybody was incredible.

The spirit and the soulfulness
with which you sang

that song was so brought into this crowd.

As far as artistry is concerned, Melanie,
the audience was totally mesmerized by the

whole performance. All I was thinking
about was I'm so proud of you.

I think you got a high.

Maybe the next time, hopefully there will be
a next time, I want to hear more of that.

You really thrived in this environment.

You obliterated any notion

that you could only do one thing.
This, by far, was the actual

best performance of the night.
I don't know who America's

going to pick. I think that my team
is so strong and would be a shame to

have to let anybody go.
So letting two people go is hard to imagine.

It is the moment of truth.

Loren, Joselyn, Brian, Amanda or Melanie
received the most votes and saved by America.

And it's a horrible thing to have to do.

But like I was saying before,
there's only five of you guys left.

I don't believe that. Moving forward, because I am

forced to choose, I have to choose. Gosh.

You know, Loren, you've improved... probably
the most improved player award, would you

have won it. Shown everybody, shock
and surprised everybody constantly

every day. God, Joselyn, you are so
young and so talented and just sing

better than I ever could and you're amazing.
You're a wonder to watch.

Melanie, you are so incredibly unique and
different and I love that about you.

And it just Joselyn there couldn't be three
more different people and I have to choose

right now.

So moving forward, I'm going to choose

a nauseous pit in my stomach the whole night.
