When she passed, my dad took it
over and I think it helped him

but now it's bigger than
she ever imagined

and he's so busy at the holidays

that I barely get to see him.

I guess I can't complain.

He's helping people's
Christmas wishes come true.

So tell me about some of the
things your family did

over the holidays. like your

Like your grandfather's head on the
snowman and the candy cane ...

Well, there was this one tradition that
started the year I was born.

Well my father tucked an envelope into the

branches of our Christmas tree and

inside was a donation slip to a charity.

Every year after that he added another

envelope so that by the time I turned 18

there were 18 envelopes
tucked into our tree.

Wow! That's incredible.

How many envelopes you have now?

Actually the year we moved
from London

my parents started hosting
a Christmas party

for all the new friends and associates.

Since we had a tree at the venue

we didn't bother with one at home.

So my father just asked
all the guests

to make a private donation to whatever
charity he chose that year.

I know it all still went
to a good cause

but to be honest I preferred
the envelopes and the tree.

So would I.

What about you? Did you have
any traditions?

We did!

When my Mom was busy baking,
my dad and I would

visit the residents with
the local seniors' home.

He played piano and we'd get them to join

us for a Christmas sing along.
