01x01 - Menace of the Mole Men

Post by bunniefuu »

ohh Good work, Sue.

You've increased your force field 100%.

Sue, do you think you're able to

withstand a five-ton collision?I'd like

to complete these tests. I'm not tired,

Reed. Give it all you've got, Ben.

Oh, this is kid stuff. Step aside,

Susie gal.

You withstood the equivalent of a ten-ton

blockbuster. I feel like I'm the one with

the busted block.

And we're getting complaints. They want

to know what hit the place. I guess the

impact was even too much for the

shockproof walls. Better lay off the

heavy testing for now, Ben. That's the

trouble with this place. Right in the

heart of town. We can never have any fun

without a hundred people calling to

complain. I've been giving this problem

some thought lately. And I feel we need a

safer location for some of our more

dangerous experiments. You mean someplace

like the countryside?Sounds great! No,

Johnny. Even the countryside might not be

safe enough for certain experiments. What

we need is something like this. I got

this pamphlet in the mail today, quite by

coincidence. It tells of a small deserted

island for sale off the coast. It's for

sale cheap! Our own island, Reed?

Isn't it exciting? It almost sounds too

good to be true. I wonder who sent us

that pamphlet. Who cares?Come on,

chums! Let's take our amphibious Yukar

and go buy us an island!

The Fantastic Four should be on their way

now. When they arrive, I shall give them

a royal welcome.

According to our radar, there's land dead

ahead. It's the island, and no wander

is for sale cheap. What do you mean, Ben?

Well, it's surrounded by a reef, and it

looks too rugged to land on from above.

We'd better surface up close and take a

look. New car surfacing. Roger.

Cut all power. Roger, all power off.

I'll check over the island.

HuhHey, charge! You'd better meld us

an opening through this reef. Gotcha,

Chief. Flame on!

Some guys have all the fun.

Nice work, Johnny boy. Here, Sue, I'll

lend you a hand.

There's something about this place that

gives me the creeps. This

place looks like the dark side of the

moon. I'll admit it looks weird, but at

least we'll have some privacy here. Reed,

I seem to sense the presence of others.

The island is supposed to be deserted.

And yet... Maybe Susie's right, Stretcho.

Look! Something's happening to the U-car.

It's sinking! Something is pulling it

down. I'll take a look.

Johnny! Oh no! The water put his flames

out! Hold on to my legs, Ben. I'm going

out for Johnny. Check, Stringbean. He's

dying!

Good work, Ben!You were steady as a rock.

Uh, it was nothing. How's Junior?I'll

survive, thanks to you two. Oh,

Johnny. I'm so glad you're all right. But

what happened to the U-Car?I'm not sure.

But just before I blacked out, I could

swear I saw a large clamp pulling the

U-Car into some sort of underwater cave.

HmmPerhaps Sue

was right. We'd better... You bet your

boot she's right. Look!Somebody's hiding

up there, watching us. Maybe he's

something, U-car. Let's get him.

Chapel, he may be leading us into a trap.

If he's looking for trouble, old

blue-eyed bencher, he'll be glad to

oblige.

Oh, Reed! The entrance! I'll throw some

light on the problem. Flame on!

Thanks, Chacha! I'll put your way out of

here in no time.

Save your energy, Faye! For

crying out loud, look who it is! It's...

It's the Mole Man! Yes, it is I,

the great Mole Man. Welcome to my

kingdom of subterranea.

I should have known that island for sale

ad was a trick. A trick that worked, I

might add. And

now, my fantastic fools, I have prepared

a few surprises for you. A slight move up

this lever and... We're falling!

Hey!I have made sure you shall

never escape me again. Something is

slowing us down! It's some sort of air

pressure to break our ba*ls.

So far, so good. I guess old Mole Man

wants us alive. At least for a while

longer. But what is Mole Man after?

There's one way to find out. I'm gonna go

over to that wall and find me a few heads

to knock together. Hey! Get back! That

wall is starting to glow! It's

radioactive! All right,

ready, I get the message!

Oh, look! There's the Maw Man!

Don't move, anyone! We'd better find out

what he's up to before we act! Too

bad the impetuous thing failed to

destroy himself. My subjects and I

could have been amused by the sight.

And

now... You are wondering what my purpose

is in capturing you. Observe the monitor

screen on yonder wall. Since our last

encounter, when you thought I had

perished, I have been busy

rebuilding my under-earth network of

tunnels with the aid of my subjects.

We now have a complete subterranean

tunnel system to every important world

capital. I have built giant hydraulic

platforms under these world cities.

And a signal from me, any one of these

key cities will be lowered to a point

many miles beneath the Earth's surface.

Naturally, the nations of the world will

panic. At this moment, I will emerge with

my followers and take over the entire

surface world. To make my triumph

complete, you four, who have stopped me

in the past, will witness my victory over

the world you have pledged to defend.

Quixel, your invisible force field. It's

our only chance. You'll never get away

with this mad plan of yours, Mole Man.

You're stalling for time, Mr. Fantastic.

But it's no use. You're powerless to stop

me. What's

this?Something is preventing me from

pushing this button. This is impossible.

Nothing shall stop the Mole Man. It's

working, Susie baby. I'm not sure.

How much longer I can hold it?Now that

he's distracted, we must act swiftly.

Everybody, stand close to me. Now

quickly, Sue, put the full force of your

invisible field around us.

What's the plan, Reed?If Sue's force

field could shield us long enough, I

think I can bounce us over the

radioactive wall. Here it goes!

Ohh We did it! What happened?

It's clobbering time!

I'll handle you, zombie.

Reed, go after Mole Man! Coming through,

fellas!

I'll take a shortcut. It's all over, Mole

Man. Johnny, be careful! He's pulling

that cord! Not careful enough, my

impetuous torch. Let's see how well your

flame works in the vacuum chamber I've

prepared for you.

can't keep flame on breathe

stretch your arms and grab me hang on

Johnny too late

sue Ben run there may be other trap

doors clever deduction Mr. fantastic

right you are and now you are all

precisely wherewhere I want you. I'm

falling! Look out below! Hey,

this isn't so bad. It's like a soft bed

of cotton. Now to get out of here.

Ohh Now I get it. The harder I

try to get out, the deeper I go.

It's like quicksand. Gotta

get out somehow. Hey,

what's this?It's rusted tight!

But not tight enough to keep old handsome

Benji! Come

tell my father!

Old Moleface must have forgotten about

this tunnel. That was his first

mistake.

The furniture! The drapes!Everything I

try to touch is unreal! It's

enjoyable watching you try to escape.

In exactly 20 seconds, you will be put to

sleep with a very special nerve gas.

Farewell, my pretty girl! Ohh

Everything is illusionary! Except the

nerve gas! Must

concentrate my force field into one

crushing blow!

Made it! Just in time. I'd

better become invisible while I look for

the others.

These walls are absolutely escape-proof.

But I must find a way. I'll make way to

squeeze out. Much

conserve air. Now, by holding my

breath and flexing my muscles toughly--

Good, get it! I'm through! I

must find the others. Watch this.

I've broken through to what looks like

the Mole Man's main control room. What a

stroke of luck. Now, I'll just rearrange

a few of these circuits.

It's... It's no use. That Mole Man has

devised some sort of circuit. Every time

I try to flame on, I...

Frost. It's getting colder.

Can't last much longer.

Got to find a way out.

Can't let the others down.

Where does this thing come out?Little

Benji boy is inching for some fun and

games. What's that?

Four tags. Unless I counted wrong.

That's the danger signal for the

ever-loving Fantastic Four.

I might have known I'd find you lying

down on the job. Hey.

Kid, you're really hurt. I was never so

glad to see that big ugly face of yours.

Thanks, Ben. Can you get that fire of

yours going?'Cause something tells me

we're gonna be needing it. Like, right

now! It's

clobbering

time! Hey, one at a

time, gents. There's enough bunches to

go around.

Flame on.

I did it. Step aside, Ben. The

belly hatch must take over.

Go to it, Johnny boy. I'll join you as

soon as I find Susie and Reed.

Aha! I got me a feeling I'm gonna find

Moleman behind that door. I only hope I'm

not too late to help the others. Blast!

Those four meddlers have somehow escaped.

Search the entire area. They must not

impede my plans.

Your plans just ran into a brick wall.

Namely, the ever-loving thing. And

this time you won't use your trap doors

on me. Attack the thing! I, your

master, command you. I hate to do this to

you poor guys, 'cause you don't know any

better. But here goes.

Ohh So, you've overcome my

master defenses. But I, Mole Man,

have one tactic that will bring final

victory... over even the brute thing.

Stop your bluffing, Molehead! You're

lickin' it! Hey! I can't

see! Precisely, you lumbering ox!

You are powerlessly in the dark, while I

possess a highly developed radar sensor.

I can't see!

Thus, you are once again at my mercy.

Where are you, you overblown bag of--

For you, the bottomless pit!

Keep your reading! Pull yourself

up, Ben! Quickly! I don't know how long I

can hold your weight. Blast you, Reed.

I've had enough of your medley. Too slow,

Mole Man. I may not be able to see in the

dark, but I could hear that coming.

Thanks, Churchill. I know you're here

somewhere, Mole Man. I connect you. just

one haymaker.

Careful, Ben. He'll have us fighting each

other. But where is he?Ha!

Before you can find me, you'll be crushed

beneath a 10-ton boulder.

Quick, Ben! Flatten against the wall! Too

late! We've had it!

Bullseye! Right on

target, Johnny! Thanks! Keep your fire

burning, kid. I got a little unfinished

business with Molehead over there. You

have interfered once too often. A push of

this button in all the major cities of

the world will disappear into the Earth

forever. Hey, what...

You arrived just in the nick of time! I

found the U-Car! Then what are we waiting

for?Let's take this character and put him

where he belongs. Behind boys! You've

escaped my many traps. But final victory

shall be mine. This chute leads to my

master control room. Not even your powers

can prevent me from throwing the master

switch. You shall have no

world to save. The victory

isStretch down and stop him, Reed! No,

Johnny! Let him go! What?

Some leader you are! Chickening out at a

time like this! We've got to stop the

Mole Man from sinking our city! No time

to explain! Quickly, soon! Lead us to the

Yukon! We've got to get off this island

now! Uh-oh!

Some more of Mole Man's troops!

You three follow me!I'll runinterference.

Quick, you two. Inside. Tuck it off, Ben.

We can't waste a moment. Uh, just when I

was warming up.

Uh That'll hold 'em for a while. Okay.

Get those turbines going and let's get

out of here.

I'm sure you know something you haven't

told us. I think we're a safe enough

distance away to explain my haste in

getting out of there. I sure hope you

have a good reason. All right, here it

is. I found Mole Man's master control

room and rearranged the circuits. He

can't possibly sink the cities. But why

did we have to leave so quickly? What will

we do about Mole Man?It looks like

Mole Man has taken that job off our

hands, Susie. Looky here.

Right, Ben. Once he threw the switch, he

set his own island with all its deadly

weapons to the center of the Earth.

I think we've seen the last of the

maniacal Mole Man. I hope so,

Reed. Yeah, good riddance. Full

speed ahead. We've still got a job to do.

What's that, Reed?Why, we're still

looking for an island to conduct our

experiments. Oh, no!
