03x12 - Monsters Ate My Homework

[Thunder crashing]

[Wind howling]

[Roaring]

[Thunder crashing]

[Shrill laughing]

[Zapping]

[Rattling]

[Engine puttering]

[Engine stopping]

[Electricity fizzling]

[Music playing over headphones]

A-ha!

Sneak up on me, will you?

Well, it'll be a cold day in the

shop class when a machine can

get the best of Randall the

Vandal.

Take that!

And that!

I am master of all mechanical

things.

[Laughing]

[Door opening]

WOMAN: Randall?

What's going on?

What have you done?

Nothing, Mom.

You call this "nothing"?

I'm just messing around.

I rigged them to sneak up on me

so I can blast them.

Cool, huh?

No, not cool.

Not cool at all.

You've ruined these perfectly

good toys.

And that drill, and...

Is that my vacuum cleaner?

Mom, relax.

I can rebuild them just as

easily as I wreck them.

People don't call me "the master"

"of all mechanical things" for

nothing, you know.

That's not the point.

Okay, Mom, I'll fix it right

away.

You can't right now.

That's why I came down.

Iggy and his father are here to

drive you to the invention fair.

Oh, yeah.

Wait till you see what I

invented.

That's our TV remote control,

Randall.

Not anymore, it isn't.

Now it's our remote

out-of-control.

This little beauty's going to

get me first prize.

Yes, but will it still get

the Gardening Channel?

Hi, Iggy.

Let's go!

You're late.

Next year, why don't you invent

a better way of keeping track of

time?

Well, I don't know about you,

"fear" viewers, but take it from

your local "re-scare" man.

Randall the Vandal and his brand

of unpopular mechanics just

doesn't sit well with all of

those household "fright-ems".

And sooner or later, he's going

to get himself into a fix of his

own.

Come on, Randall, don't be

such a knob.

Can't you just show me what this

thing does?

Put that down.

You might break it.

Yeah, but even if I did, you

could fix it, just like that.

You're the master of machines,

man.

The da Vinci of hardware.

Okay, you can look at it, but

don't get any drool on it.

Cool.

What is it?

What does it do?

It controls things.

Point it at poindexter over

there and press the "on" button.

Huh?

Hey, what's going on?

[Laughing]

Oh, yeah!

Randall the Vandal strikes

again.

[Laughing]

What's so funny, boys?

Uh, nothing, sir.

Besides all the lame

competition in here.

Uh-huh.

I think you boys know Edison

here.

He's going to help me judge

today's entries.

BOTH: Hi, Ed.

Greetings, fellow inventors.

Shall we begin?

Ready.

All right.

Why don't you show us your entry

now, Randall?

You've got it, Sir.

Behold!

My very own remote

out-of-control.

A remote out-of-control?

I don't understand.

What does it do?

Observe.

A common household blender.

Well, that is impressive,

Randall.

But frankly, I was expecting

more from you.

Remote-controlled devices are

quite common.

Ah, but watch.

It doesn't stop there.

[Rattling]

[Gasping]

[Banging]

[Laughing]

[Splatting]

[Gasping]

You see?

It basically commands other

machines to self-destruct.

Cool, huh?

Why don't we let Edison

decide?

This device does not qualify.

What?

How come?

It's the best thing in here.

It's very clever and

well-designed, Randall, but it

doesn't fit the criteria for

entry.

Perhaps if your remote control

were to compliment the function

of machines, we could allow it.

But as it is, I'm afraid your

invention is disqualified.

Oh, man, this is so unfair.

Iggy, you're not helping.

You have a gift, Randall.

A remarkable ability in the

field of electronics.

You have a lot to offer, if you

choose to use that gift wisely.

So, what are you going to do,

Randall?

Let's see what this thing can

really do, huh?

Whoa!

Yeah!

[Laughing]

[Alarm blaring]

[Screaming]

[Gasping]

[Motor revving]

Huh?

[Screaming]

Oh, man, that was sweet.

You sure showed them who's boss.

You are the master of all

machines.

Hey, Randall, guess who beat us

home.

Too bad old man Alvarez didn't

see you ten minutes ago.

He'd have gotten a real good

look at what your remote can do.

But who says we can't give

him his own private

demonstration?

Come on, Ed.

I'll plug you in for the night.

Actually, I'll take Charlie

Weaver to block, Dave.

Dave?

Are you all right, Edison?

You look like you picked up a

virus.

[Laughing]

Danger, Bill Robinson!

Danger!

Ah!

[High-pitched tone]

Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye...

Disqualify me, will you?

Whoa!

Do you know how long it took Mr.

A to build that thing?

Five years.

And it only took me 30

seconds to show it who's boss.

[Radio crackling]

This boy...

Has hurt us.

Vandalised...

Machines...

He...

Must...

Be stopped...

It is...

Time.

[Whistling]

[Phone ringing]

MOM: Hello?

What?

Oh, no.

We'll be right there.

Thanks for calling.

Randall!

Sorry to wake you, but your

father and I have to go out.

There's an emergency down at the

office.

An emergency?

Nothing too serious.

It's the automatic sprinkler

system, it just went off.

We'll probably be all night

cleaning up.

Will you be okay alone?

Oh, yeah, go ahead.

I'll be fine.

[Static crackling]

Need food.

Ow!

Yow!

What was that?

And what's with the lights?

Huh.

The wiring must be screwy.

Nothing I can't fix in the

morning.

[Banging]

[Gasping]

[Rattling]

Sometimes, I don't know what Mom

is thinking.

Nothing good to eat, as usual.

Huh?

Ow!

Darn it, what is with these

stupid lights?

[Rattling]

Wait a minute.

What's going on here?

[Rattling]

What... What is this?

Some kind of joke?

FEMALE VOICE:Yes, Randall.

I knew it!

Iggy, is that you?

Did you rig all these things to

do this?

I'll bet you even set off those

sprinklers, didn't you?

Just to get me.

Yes, Randall, we did.

[Static hissing]

Hey, where's Iggy?

What is this?

If Mom has left all these stupid

things out for me to fix, she's

dreaming.

We are not stupid.

We're machines.

And we don't like...

What you've been...

Doing to us.

You must...

Be stopped.

It is...

Time!

No, this isn't possible.

You're just machines.

You can't be alive!

You can't!

[Screaming]

No, please, stay back!

Get away!

Why are you doing this to me?

This...

Boy...

Has...

Hurt...

Us and...

Damaged us.

He...

Must...

Be stopped.

It is time.

[Screaming]

No!

There's too many of them.

I can't stop them all.

I can't!

My remote can.

My remote can!

It'll stop them!

It'll stop them all!

It's what I created it to do!

It too...

Has done us harm.

But no more.

You too...

Will be dealt with...

When it is time.

Ah!

[Screaming]

[Alarm blaring]

The burglar alarm.

Yes!

[Phone ringing]

MAN:Hello, this is the alarm

service.

Our monitor indicates an alarm

has been sounded at your

address.

Yeah!

Is there a problem?

Huh?

No!

Oh, no, let go!

Hello?

Is anyone there?

I'm here!

Don't hang up!

No, it's going to be okay.

If I don't answer, they'll have

to come out here.

They'll be here in a minute.

Is there a problem?

[Tape rewinding]

RANDALL [Recording]:Nothing

I can't fix in the morning.

No!

That's not me.

You sure you can fix it?

We can come have a look.

RANDALL:Nothing I can't fix

in the morning.

No!

Okay, then.

Have a good night.

No!

[Knocking on door]

Finally, help!

You're not going to get me.

I'll show you who's boss.

Edison!

Disqualified, disqualified.

Ah!

[Sighing]

Ah!

No!

No!

I don't believe this.

Machines aren't alive, they're

not.

[Rattling]

[Metal scraping]

Ah!

[Crashing]

Stop it!

Go away!

Stay away!

The flashlight.

[Whirring]

No, no!

No!

Ah!

No!

Don't hurt me.

Please, don't hurt me!

I shouldn't have hurt you.

I'm sorry.

Please!

I'll never wreck another machine

for as long as I live.

You have my word.

[Gasping]

Thank you.

MOM: Randall, we're home!

You didn't wait up, did you?

Randall, are you all right down

there?

Yeah, Mom.

Never better.

What do you mean, you threw

it away?

That remote control was the

coolest thing you ever invented.

Until last night, I thought

the same thing.

But Ed here was right all along,

that thing was useless.

From now on, I don't wreck

machines anymore, I just fix

them.

You go, guy!

Man, one day, you're Randall

the Vandal, and the next,

you're...

Real busy.

I'll see you later.

Randall, I know you're

swamped, but...

Just put it with the rest of

them, Mom.

I'll tune everything up.

Well, well.

What have we here?

Who's the master of all machines

now?

CRYPT KEEPER: Uh-oh, looks

like Iggy is headed for a real

"fix" of his own.

Luckily for Randall, he found

out that when machines reach

their breaking point, they can

go a little nuts and bolts.

[Laughing]

That's our electrifying tale for

today, boils and ghouls.

So until next time, remember:

"Creep" out of trouble because

I'll be watching.

[Laughing]
