[Thunder crashing]

[Wind howling]

[Roaring]

[Thunder crashing]

[Shrill laughing]

PA:Attention, shoppers.

[PA continuing indistinctly]

ROB: [Man's voice] Hey, you,

put that back.

Are you trying to steal that?

[Laughing]

Phew.

Very funny.

What did you get?

You know, the usual.

Some gum, a few pens.

Did anybody see you?

Nope.

How about you?

Not a soul.

It's like I'm invisible.

This place has zero security.

I can't believe we've never hit

on this place before.

What do you say we meet back

here tonight?

Say, 8:00?

I'll be here.

One for the road?

[Man's voice] Would you like

that in a bag?

[Both laughing]

Thank you for your patronage,

boys.

Do come again.

Oh, you can bet on it.

We're gonna be regulars here.

I'm sure you will be.

And hopefully your next visit

won't be your last.

[Shrill laughing]

[PA speaking indistinctly]

There now, all finished.

Oh, that looks splendid.

That colour's very flattering on

you.

Mr. Rodman, we have a

problem.

Oh, hello, Dennis.

What do you think of old

Sullivan here?

It looks fine.

Very nice.

But as your store manager, it's

my job to maintain the store's

efficiency.

And I think...

And you're doing a

crackerjack job, Dennis.

Thank you, sir.

Now, it's come to my attention

that incidents of store theft

are on the rise.

And I think it's time we talked

about installing security.

Oh, a security system?

No, we don't need anything like

that.

But, Mr. Rodman, all the

stores have them.

Don't ask me why, but we've

never had a problem with

shoplifters.

And I doubt we ever will.

DEREK: Ten after 8:00?

Uh, Rob was supposed to be here

by now.

Where is that goof?

Derek?

Derek?

Derek.

Derek!

Aw, this can't be right.

I must have screwed up.

Got off on the wrong floor or

something.

MAN: Rob?

Huh?

MAN: In here, Rob.

Derek, is that you?

What, did you find the mother

lode or something?

What are you doing in here,

dude?

We live here, Rob.

WOMAN: This is our home.

Huh?

[Gasping]

No!

[Gasping]

What was that?

Huh, probably an unsatisfied

customer.

Well, that's it for Rob.

I'll bet he chickened out.

But not this guy.

I'm not leaving without a few

freebies.

[Gulping]

CRYPT KEEPER: Oh, my.

Did you see that, kiddies?

If I was Derek, I'd think about

doing my shoplifting somewhere

else.

Because along with a lot of

candy and goodies, young Derek

is about to find a lot of

trouble in store.

[Shrill laughing]

[PA speaking indistinctly]

PA:Please contact Lost and

Found located at the north end

of the building on the second

floor down the corridor just

past the Quick Cut haircutting

salon.

Thank you.

[Gasping]

Hey, don't sneak up on a guy

like that, kid.

You took that.

I saw you.

Whoa, you got it all wrong,

kid.

I didn't steal anything.

Yes, you did.

You put that in your pocket.

My mom says stealing is wrong.

Well, your mom is right, but

it's not really stealing unless

you leave the store, now, is it?

It's just a game I like to play.

Do you like games, uh...?

David.

David, cool name.

Uh, come on, we'll play

together.

Okay, the rules are simple.

One guys stands watch while the

other guy sees how many things

he can fit in his pockets.

Are you ready?

Okay, I'm ready.

Is anybody around?

DENNIS: Hey, what are you

doing there?

I thought you said there was

no one around?

Come on.

Come back here!

Boys!

What is it, Dennis?

What's going on?

Shoplifters, sir.

A pair of boys.

They ran off into the store.

Shoplifters?

Oh, my.

Don't worry, sir.

I've got staff at every exit.

They won't get far.

Good night, come again.

Any luck finding those boys?

I'm afraid not, sir.

They must have slipped out.

Oh, good.

Huh?

It's closing time.

We wouldn't want to lock them

in.

Yes, o-of course.

Well, good night.

Good night, Dennis.

See you in the morning.

[Wind rustling]

DAVID: Derek, how long do we

have to hide in here?

DEREK: A while longer.

Just keep quiet.

Okay, it's safe to come out

now.

Everyone's gone.

The store's closed.

Closed?

You mean they locked us in?

Don't worry, I always rig a

back door open.

Just in case I need to make a

quick getaway.

We can get out that way.

Come on, it's back here.

[Gasping]

[Sighing]

Stupid mannequins.

[Grunting]

You didn't have to do that.

What do you care?

It's just a dummy.

Open, "says me."

Uh, I thought you said it was

open?

It was, I rigged it myself.

What gives?

Oh, great.

Someone took the tape off the

lock.

Probably that geek manager.

What does this mean?

It means get comfortable.

We're locked in.

Listen, I wouldn't get too

messed up over this.

Your folks are probably on their

way here right now.

This place gets kinda creepy at

night, huh?

If you're scared, we could

try to call someone.

Oh, really?

[Laughing]

I don't think I'm the one who's

scared.

Look, here's a phone.

We could call for help.

No, not a good idea.

Why not?

We could call 911.

I said, no!

The last thing I need is for

someone to find me in here.

I'd be in big trouble.

Not if you said you're sorry

and told the truth.

Thanks anyway, kid, but I'll

take my chances.

I'm pretty sure we can force a

door open somehow.

There's no security so we don't

have to worry about setting off

any alarms.

But first what do you say we

have a little fun?

[Monster roaring on TV]

Come on, Derek, cut it out.

This is wrong.

No, it's not.

We're not stealing, we're just

having fun.

This isn't your store.

They're not gonna like it.

Who's not gonna like it?

We're the only ones here.

MAN: Derek?

Over here.

Hey, did you hear that?

What?

MAN: Over here, Derek.

DEREK: Those voices, can't

you hear them?

[Glass breaking]

There!

There he is!

Derek, wait!

What are you doing?

He's in here somewhere.

He's not fooling me.

Who's in here?

What does he want?

How should I know?

Maybe he's just yanking our

chain.

[Clicking nearby]

Huh?

Derek, I don't like this.

Can you please call someone and

tell them what happened?

[PA beeping]

Hey, you, out there.

I guess you think you're pretty

tough, scaring a little kid.

Well, you don't scare me.

So why don't you just come out?

I said, why don't you just come

out?

MAN: Over here, Derek.

Derek, wait.

[Gasping]

[Yelling]

[Derek grunting]

Whoa, did you see that?

What happened?

That fell from up there.

Whoever's in here is playing for

keeps.

[Cans clattering]

Well, two can play at that game.

Derek!

Shh!

[Grunting then crashing]

I got you, you jerk.

What do you have to say now?

[Gasping]

Oh, great.

What, what happened?

Nothing, see for yourself.

Aah, who's that?

Is that the guy?

Is he dead?

No, he's not dead.

He's a mannequin.

I thought it was him.

These things are really getting

on my nerves.

Derek, don't!

What is your problem?

This thing just screwed up

everything.

[Derek grunting]

Derek?

Derek, stop it, okay?

Stop it.

[Panting]

MAN: Stop it, Derek.

[Gasping]

WOMAN: You really must stop.

SULLY: We'll make you stop.

[Screaming]

Who-Who are you?

What do you want?

SULLY: We live here.

We want you to stop.

DEREK: Stop what?

I-I haven't done anything to

you.

SULLY: This is out home.

He has to be stopped.

WOMAN: Yes, we must stop him.

He will learn.

Stop what?

W-What are you talking about?

Stealing.

I think they're talking about

stealing.

WOMAN: What he's done is

wrong.

He must be punished.

SULLY: Others have stolen

from our home.

WOMAN: They were made to

learn.

SULLY: You will learn too,

Derek.

DEREK: Rob?

That's Rob.

[Yelling]

Oh, no, I won't let you do that

to me.

Leave me alone!

[Panting]

Help!

Somebody help me, please!

[Gasping]

[Gulping]

[Yelling]

SULLY: It's too late for

that, Derek.

Get away!

Leave me alone!

[Static blaring]

[Clock ticking]

Gotta hide.

Wait until morning.

Until someone comes.

Anyone.

There, that looks good.

No, wait!

[Screaming]

SULLY: It's no use, Derek.

[Yelling]

Hey!

Hey, I'm in here!

I'm in here!

SULLY: You can't get away.

Derek.

We'll stop you.

Wait!

Wait, I'm in here!

I'm in here!

Help me, please!

He's leaving.

[Gasping]

No!

Huh, I've gotta get back on

days.

Get me out of this.

Please.

Oh, please.

Derek!

David, you got away.

They didn't get you.

They're not after me, they're

after you.

You stole from the store.

From their home.

You shouldn't have done that.

It's wrong.

I know, it was stupid.

[Gasping]

You can never do that again.

Not here, not anywhere.

Say it, Derek.

They're coming.

I'll never steal anything

again.

I won't, promise.

Not to me, to them!

I mean it, I'll never take

anything again!

You have to believe me!

You have to believe me.

[Crying]

[Clock chiming]

It-It's morning.

Oh, oh, thank you.

Thank you for coming.

You're welcome.

I didn't really have anyplace

else to go.

What's going on here?

I know that boy.

He's the one we were after.

It appears so.

The poor lad's been here all

night.

I was.

It was awful.

The mannequins were after me.

They're alive.

The mannequins are what?

But they were alive.

I saw them.

Ask my friend, he'll tell you.

He's right there.

Oh-Oh, no!

He's-He's one of them.

He's just like Rob.

Of course he is.

I bought him myself.

David's been a part of our store

family for years.

Almost as long as old Sully

here.

No, he was real.

I know he was.

He spoke to me.

He helped me.

[Groaning]

Rob?

You're okay.

What happened?

I'm not sure.

I can't remember anything after

I went into that storeroom.

And I don't think I want to.

Oh, I've heard just about

enough of this.

You boys have committed a very

serious offence.

And it's my duty as store

manager to...

Now, Dennis, go easy on them.

Can't you see they've been

through enough?

After what they've been through,

I doubt they'll ever do anything

like this again.

Will you, boys?

No, sir, I won't.

You can count on it.

SULLY: You've done well,

David.

You've defended our home.

DAVID: Thank you, Sully.

They really are good boys.

Stealing is wrong, but the boys

have learned their lesson.

Yes, we've seen a lot like them,

haven't we?

CRYPT KEEPER: And for your

sake, I hope those two are the

last.

Because is any of you decide to

put the bite on this store,

beware.

It just might bite back!

But don't feel too sorry for

poor Derek and Rob.

They've learned a scary valuable

lesson: stealing is for dummies.

[Shrill laughing]

Well, that's all for today,

boils and ghouls.

So remember: "creep" out of

trouble because I'll be

watching.

Next stop, "scare" conditioner,

"fright" well tires, going down.

[Shrill laughing]
