[gasps] Whoa!

Excited about this
science class field trip, Coach,

but what exactly are
our pedagogical objectives here?

Well, see, they added "art" to STEM,

so it's STEAM now,

and I'm just tryin'
to do right by you kids,

so here we are!

Ah, you're doing great, Coach.

I heard this new crystal exhibit
is going to be amazing!

Uh, you mean you heard the exhibition

is going to be amazing.

"Exhibit" is the verb,

"exhibition" is the noun.

Cool. Now I'm exhibiting
signs of annoyance.

[whistle blows]

All right, STEAM-ers! Huddle up!

Okay, I'm gonna pass the baton

over to our guide for the day, Mr. Stern.

That's Dr. Stern. Dr. Stern.

I have a PhD.
I have six PhDs, actually.

So it should be...

Anand, that's you in the future
if you're not careful.

Oh, I wish!

Welcome to the National Art
Institute of New York.

Today I shall endeavor to cultivate

some semblance of art appreciation.

And I'd appreciate it
if you'd all follow my rules.

No phones, no pictures, no yo-yo's.

No touching the art.
Don't look at the art too long.

You'll wear it out with your eyes.

If you must breathe,

do it through your nose in short bursts.

- Ready?
- [thunder rumbles]

- Yeah.
- I guess.

[growling]

[all talking]

[clears throat] Please,

no talking to our annual pass patrons.

Mr. Dinosaur is a true art aficionado.

[growls]

Do not disturb him.

[sighs]

[theme music plays]

What an incredible, undeserved honor

for your young eyes to see,

the first time this object
has ever been on display.

Hailing from the Indian state
of Karnataka,

may I present... the Crystal of Karwar.

- [all] Ooh!
- [Lunella] Wow!

Shh! But yes, "ooh" is correct.

- No video!
- Wow!

- [alarm sounds]
- Ah!

As you can see, the crystal's carvings

mirror an Aquarian star pattern.

They indicate that this crystal
was likely used

in a peacekeeping ceremony
in Karnataka.

With all due respect,

my grandparents are from Karnataka,

and there's no way that
that crystal is from there.

- As I'm sure you know...
- I probably do.

...the coloration of crystals
is determined by the elements

found in a region's soil.

Based on the flora of Karnataka,

a crystal of that color

- would not be possible.
- Well, now...

Exactly how did the museum
get this crystal, anyway?

Did it come with
the correct provenance?

Add to the rule list,
no questioning provenance or--

I mean, look at these runes.

Do they look like they're based

in Indo-Aryan language structures?

I'm sorry, do you have
a PhD in Linguistics? No?

Well, new rule, only PhDs
get to talk today, children.

Now, on to the Contemporary Art gallery!

Now!

Hmm?

Is that...

Kree?

- S'up, Earthling?
- Uh, hey there, Marvin.

- You got a sec?
- Uh, I'm in P.E. class now,

death moat obstacle course,
but, yeah, hit me!

[groans]

Okay, so, I'm at a museum, and...

do you know what this is?

The Crystal of Korath!
[groans]

What are they doing with that?

You-- you have to get it out of there!

- Why?
- The Crystal of Korath

is the most sacred part of Bloodvember,

the Kree Festival of Battle.

It creates brutal battle conditions

to challenge warrior contestants,

and to amuse my father.

When exposed to the light of any star,

in your case, the sun,
it starts to activate.

And when exposed to direct sunlight...

Whoa! I'm talking whirlwind storms,

sulfuric rains, and who knows

what kind of damage it'll cause on Earth.

- Uh...
- How attached are you

to the island of Manhattan?

Um, very!

I'll be there as soon as I can.

But in the meantime,
you've gotta get it out of there!

Put it in your Boom Locker
ASAP or--

No cell phones in the museum!

Wait, listen.

I was talking to my friend
about the crystal.

It's mega-dangerous!

Dangerous... ly fascinating, maybe.

This isn't story time.

It is listening-to-me time.

No, seriously,

if we don't get it out of that display,

the crystal's gonna cause storms,

winds, utter devastation!

This cell phone
could cause utter devastation,

radio waves jostling the art.

- I won't have it!
- No, I'll just--

- I'll put it back in my bag!
- That bulky thing?

You're going to knock into
a Ming Dynasty porcelain vase.

- Devil! Get in here!
- [gasps]

[grunting]

Ah, come on, brain, do your thing.

Gotta nab this crystal, but how?

No Devil, no Moon Girl gear...

[laughter]

No problem.

Y'all. Anand was right about the crystal.

- Yes!
- I looked into it.

And let's just say,
it doesn't belong here,

and could cause some major
pain-in-the-astronomical damage.

No!

We need to get that crystal
out of here like yesterday!

So... we're planning a heist?

No, no, no, no, no.
We're just relocating an artifact.

Yeah, that's a heist.

Don't toy with my emotions

because I have been waiting for this day!

I have seen literally
every heist movie ever made.

Whoa, hold on.
Shouldn't we tell an adult?

[nervous chuckle]
Let them handle it?

I tried that. Dr. Stern didn't believe me.

Plus, we just don't have time.

But we're just kids.

True, we're just kids,

STEM kids with high-powered brains

who can do just about anything

when they put those brains together.

Come on, who wants
to save Manhattan today?

All right. Stem Club, assemble!

[theme music plays]

[theme music plays]

So you're saying that the longer
the crystal's exposed to sunlight,

the worse the weather will get,

until the point of direct contact
and then...

Manhattan's sunk. Literally.

We need to get another look
at that gallery ASAP.

I got you. Stern said no phones,
not no watches.

[beeps]

the path of the sun,

factoring in the angle of the skylight

versus the plexiglass case

Strawberry fruit leather,

[Cecilia] Step two: Trick the guards

into disabling the curtain alarm

that protects the crystal.

Game on! Literally.

then we swoop in!

[sighs] I can't do this.

I can't do this, I can't do this.

Look, something very real

and very bad will happen
if we don't do this.

Just because we're kids,
you know, it doesn't mean

we can't do something really important.

Like you said,
it's because of things you knew

that got us here, Anand.

It's like my grandma once told me...

The bird doesn't need to trust the branch

when it trusts its own wings.

What does that even mean?

It means you need to trust yourself.

Believe in yourself,
even when the adults don't.

And for what it's worth, I believe in you.

- You do?
- Yeah, I do.

[inspiring theme playing]

Now go, Anand, and be the muscle.

[exciting theme playing]

Ahem!

- What are you--?
- Aah!

I assumed "don't steal the art"

went without saying.

Big yikes. But all heists hit a snag.

We'll just call this step 3.5.

Operation Chaos.
