01x14 - The Lair of the Leader

Using humanoid robots, the
green-tinted genius called the Leader

has captured Bruce Banner's
absorbatron weapon and the Hulk,

unaware that the Hulk
is Dr Banner himself.

Now he tows his prizes away.

Gunners of the Astra Isle task force
finally abandon their futile efforts

to bring down the fantastic target.

A landing party searches
for Dr Banner and Major Talbot.

- Major Talbot. Where's Dr Banner?
- Gone.

- He escaped from me again.
- He must've been in that ship.

- Ship?
- An aircraft towing the absorbatron.

- He got away with the absorbatron?
- Completely.

- They lifted it right off its base.
- They?

He had the Hulk with him,
following his airship.

So they do work together.
I knew it.

- One is never far from the other.
- They won't get away with it.

Our radar is sure
to track their flight.

Meanwhile, in Banner's
hidden cave laboratory,

Rick Jones is still waiting for
the scientist's promised radio message.

I hope he hasn't changed
into the Hulk again.

Rick fails to see the strange objects
in the sky behind him...

..settling into a camouflaged opening
in an isolated plateau.

Soon within that hidden lair,

the Hulk is under the Leader's
controlled observation.

Now I can keep him unconscious

simply by regulating
the flow of gas he inhales.

My recording instruments
will transcribe

the encephalographic patterns
of his brain.

His heartbeat, blood pressure,
nothing shall be hidden from me.

I must learn how to duplicate
his great strength,

or at least how to control it.

His skin. Amazing.

So tough that my x-ray devices
can't even register properly.

I'll get some stronger, penetrating
material from my supply lab.

But as the Leader leaves,

an unexpected side effect
of his sleep gas occurs.

The Hulk begins to awaken.

The same gas which kept the green-
tinted goliath asleep and helpless

has also slowed his heartbeat,
transformed his body chemistry,

so that once more, the brilliant,
tortured Bruce Banner is reborn

with shocked memories
of what has happened.

Captured by the Leader?

So far, he doesn't even suspect
that I'm the Hulk.

That sleep gas. I'm lucky I shed most
of it during my body transformation.

I've got to move fast.

In his hands, the absorbatron
will be a threat to all mankind.

I've got to reach the army somehow.

Maybe I can transmit
a Morse code message

by modifying
this high-frequency gear.

Luckily, the desperate warning
is heard.

B-A-N... Banner.

My gosh, he is signalling
from someplace near here.

It also reaches the m*ssile base,

where Major Talbot is conferring
with General Thunderbolt Ross.

- Radar tracked him to this area.
- I'll find him. I'll scour the desert.

I'll...

Hello? What? A signal from Banner?

Scrambled or not,
if it's from Banner, track it.

Major, I want this entire m*ssile
command assembled and ready.

Yes, sir.

In his search for the signal's origin,
Rick reaches a vantage point.

Oh, no, the whole m*ssile command?

Signal's stronger.
We're getting close.

You'd better be right, Major.

- It's coming from that mesa.
- Have the site surrounded.

sh**t anything that moves.

But back inside the mesa...

He's gone. The brute awakened.

He must be in there somewhere.

A double quantity of sleep gas
will render him helpless again.

No, not the gas.

But instead of causing sleep,
the double quantity

is triggering violent chemical
changes within Bruce Banner.

And once more, he becomes the Hulk.

- What have I done?
- No one captures Hulk.

Stay back. Keep away from
the absorbatron. Or I'll have to...

Leader must never get absorbatron.

Into the fire comes Major Talbot
with men of the m*ssile command.

g*ns roar.

Get that blasted Hulk!

They've destroyed the absorbatron.
Why, and where's Banner?

- Don't sh**t him. No!
- We haven't even found Banner yet.

- So far we just got the Hulk.
- The Hulk? Where?

Rick plunges into
the smouldering wreckage

seeking but fearing what he may find.
