01x09 - The Incredible Shrinking Hulk

Hey, Hulk lovers. This is Stan Lee,

bringing you one of Greenskin's strangest

adventures. It begins in the middle of

the night, where we find Bruce Banner

still searching for a cure to stop him

from becoming a monster. As

for Betty Ross, she thinks he's

conducting a routine experiment, for

Bruce dares not tell her. His dread

secret. Hey, how about this cute little

fellow?He'll do fine, Betty. Just set the

cage on the table. Would you like some

juice?Sounds good.

I'll be right back. Don't be frightened,

little guy. This won't hurt.

A malfunction in the beta overload.

That'll do it. What's happened?

Hold on there. Hey! Come

back here! I

can't believe this.

The gamma ray. I'm only one inch

tall. Fresh juice coming

up. Betty, she can help me.

Betty! Betty, down here!

Bruce?Bruce?

What is this, hide and seek?Come

on, Dr. Banner, where are you?Look down

here, Betty! Down here!

Well, if he was going to leave, he might

have at least told me.

Ned Talbot. Are you gonna work all

night?Well, I thought so, but... How

about a bite to eat at Rio's?HuhWell, it

looks like I've been stood up here. I'll

be right out! No!

Betty! Don't go! Don't! Well, it's

up to me to get up there myself. And

see if I can reverse the ray. Hey,

just imagine it's you. You're only one

inch high, but you've got to climb way up

to the top of a table. Well, that's the

fix poor Bruce is in.

It's no use, at least not that way. It's

just a field mouse, but it might as well

be an elephant.

Oh, no. It's a tarantula.

I can't get away. I-- Right

trapped with no hope of escape,

Bruce's banner begins to change.

Hulk not mouse food!

Find Rick!

Rick, help Hulk!

Up, two, three,

ah Up, two, three,

We've got a flat! Slowly, the Hulk's

clouded brain realizes he must get

past the chain-link fence, which seems

a mile high to the one-inch monster.

Find Rick!

Night sounds. Must be the wind.

He did it! He's out of the base at

last! Now, to find Rick

Jones, all the Hulk must do is

get to Rio's Diner. But, even though

the diner is only a short distance away

from the sprawling army base, it might as

well be a world away to the green-skinned

Hulk.

Through the slow-witted Hulk, it's just

another enemy to fight. But we know

he's facing a deadly Gila monster,

the most dangerous desert lizard of

all.

Even unconscious,The Hulk is still the

mightiest of all, and so his

superhuman strength helps him to revive

before it's too late. Ohh

Hulk sleep!

No...

With his brutish body relaxed at last,

the Hulk once again undergoes his

miraculous metamorphosis. But it's only

his form that changes. His size

remains the same.

Ned, let's not stay too long. really

worried about Dr. Banner. Oh, aren't you

concerned at all with my problems?I mean,

I have responsibilities too, you know.

You were telling us about the new tank

that's going to be tested tomorrow?That's

right. And I'm in charge of the entire

operation. What kind of tank is it?What

kind?Oh, well, it's big. Huge for that

matter. All computerized and... And what?

It's top secret. That's all I can say.

Well, then why did you bring it up, Ned?

Why?Oh, I guess... I guess because

I'm going to be in charge.

Rios, it seems a hundred miles

away, but Rick is the only one who can

help me.

tailor-made trench coat! Gee, I'm sorry,

Boy, he sure was mad. Yeah, what

The coat doesn't mean anything as long as

Major Talbert, Sir. General Ross would

like to see you in his quarters

immediately, Sir.

Darn. I tell you, Major,

this is serious. The Pentagon believes

that spies, saboteurs, came in with the

convoy that brought the T-70 here today.

Spies?Here?Yes, here. Where's your

list of the people in the convoy?Here in

my trench coat pocket.

No, it's in my office. Get it!

And check all IDs. Absolutely

nothing must stand in the way of

successfully testing that tank in the

morning. You can count on me, General, as

always. Whoa.

Gamma ray g*n's turned on.

Rick, what are you doing here?

Looking for Dr. Banner. So am I. He's not

in his quarters. It's It's like he's just

disappeared. Not entirely. I

mean... Say, shouldn't you

turn this thing off?I can't without Dr.

Banner's permission. He was working on an

experiment. Some experiment. At

last, Rick has guessed what happened to

Bruce Banner. But afraid of

revealing the scientist's terrible

secret, the astonished youth must keep

his knowledge to himself. There she

is, the T-70.

What a beauty. Now, they question these

men and find those spies. Oh,

who goes there?Major Talbot, soldier, I'm

in charge here. Let's see your ID,

soldier. All of you, get

out your identification now.

My ID, sir.

That Major's onto something. Yeah, he

sees our identification, he'll know it's

phony. We can't wait. We gotta move now.

All right, soldier. Let's see your ID.

Mechanics are the ones. I gotta stop 'em

somehow.

Where are those two mechanics?At the

rear, sir.

Start her up. I'll do the maneuvering.

They're not here. Where'd they

go?What's

happening?Who started that tank?Stop

them!

Let's go. Our orders are to destroy the

whole base. Let's go! I can't

let this happen, but I'm... I'm helpless

like this.

Stop it! Somebody do something!

Ohh This can't be happening!

Now for the real important stuff.

ah Go after it! Stop it!

The mighty T-70 tank thunders

across the army base on a path of carnage

and demolition. But aboard the giant

engine of destruction is one

extra unsuspected

passenger. A one-inch tall,

green-skinned rampager. Ah

Sound the alarm! Call out the guard! That

tank's going crazy! Not by

itself, it's not! Albert!

What's going on?Swing left. Get the

jacks. Full red alert, General! The spies

have the tank!

Trapped in a strange and savage world of

giants inside a one-inch body, the

raging hope seeks only to smash and

tear and destroy! Ah

This control panel's gone haywire!

How about that?It missed all the planes!

Major Talmot! Call in the a*tillery!

Whoa! Talmot!

Yes, sir. The a*tillery!

Hey, that's where I

live! How dare you! Oh

no, it's heading this way! It might

destroy the lab. Where's Bruce?Never

mind, there's nothing he could do anyway.

That's what you think.

I'm gonna pull this panel.

Hey, it's a little green guy. Now's

no time for jokes. I ain't joking, look.

I'll get him.

Ohh

Quick! Get in that concrete bunker over

there, you'll be safe! But what about you?

I'll be okay, don't worry!

Betty, thank goodness you're safe! Doc!

Rick, help Hulk! Rick,

eat now!Yeah, so you gotta do

what I say for a change, yes?No!

But Hulk do! I'm getting control

again. You know, I thought I was seeing

things. A little green man monster thing.

That was a bug or something. Forget it.

Just watch what you're doing.

That's the civilian research lab. A prime

target.

I think I know what happened, so don't

The T-70! It's headed straight here!

They tried to hurt Hulk!

Steady... Steady...

Stop now!

The Hulk! He stopped that tank! That

green thing's gonna wreck us! What's

wrong?We're out of gas!

Stop! Don't! That's government property!

Guards! MPs! Surround them!

I... I can't believe it. It seems as if

the Hulk saved the T-70 and the

base. Everything's under control,

General. Request permission to seek and

destroy the Hulk. Seek and

destroy the Hulk?That green skin,

Goliath, just saved us all! No wonder the

men call you Noodlehead Ned.

But where did he go?

He has to be somewhere. He leapt away.

Into those shadows, General. I I guess

he's gone. Hmm, like always.

He did destroy our water supply.

Maybe his helping us was just accidental

after all. Maybe, but I don't

think so. Good night,

Betty Jones.

Bruce.

Bruce, wake up. Huh

What?Oh, oh, hi, Betty.

Where have you been?Where have I been?

Oh, well, this little guy got out of his

cage, and I went looking for him. Why?Did

something happen when I was gone?

Bruce is normal size again, and for

once, no one's mad at the house.
