01x13 - Blastaar, the Living b*mb Burst

Post by bunniefuu »

It was the world's strangest accident

while testing a new rocket ship.

Our heroes were bombarded by mysterious

cosmic rays from outer space.

Though they crash landed safely, the

strange and powerful rays had changed

each one of them. Transforming their

leader Reed Richards into the

plastic-skinned Mr. Fantastic,

Sue Richards into the Now You See Her,

Now You Don't Invisible Girl,

and Ben Grimm into a mighty muscled

powerhouse called The Thing.

Now, together with Herbie the Robot, the

newest member of the group, they have

become the greatest team of superheroes

the world has ever known.

The new Fantastic Four.

More than 30 stories above the teeming

streets of New York City, towers the

world-famous Baxter Building. And from

its top five floors, whenever danger

threatens, the fabulous superheroes known

as the Fantastic Four emerge to do battle

for mankind. Tonight, however, no threats

to Earth are in sight. And so the

Fantastic Four are passing the time in a

different way. All this exercise and no

crime is getting me down. If we don't get

some action soon, I'm going to go out

with the wrecking crews and demolish a

couple of buildings. Benjamin, perhaps we

could go to the library together. What

for?To read a book. Improve your mind,

Ben. Ah, my mind don't need no

improvement. Hey, Reed, you better give

the little bucket of wires a checkup in a

hurry. Next you'll be telling us to take

up the Ensyn. Why not?

I bet you'd got a mean figure on the

dance floor, Ben. Ah, gee. Uh,

Ben?

All systems are checked and ready. And

now I've filled the room. All right, do

your voice. You can't back out. I

can handle anything you throw at me.

Try this on for size, big orange and

lumpy... A giant foot!

Let me know when you give up. Oh, no, not

again. Every time Ben plays in

my testing room, I lose valuable

equipment. This, This is

embarrassing.

How do you like that, Herbie?I'm

surprised at you, Ben. How can you be

so irresponsible?A grown man. Ohh

Come on, Reed. A guy's gotta have some

fun. Besides...

Besides what?It was Herbie's idea.

My idea?It was his idea.

Honestly, you two are

impossible.

In the famous laboratory of the Fantastic

Four, we find Reed Richards, the world's

greatest scientist, and his faithful

robot, Herbie, hard at work on a

mysterious new experiment. Oh,

just as I thought. I was right. Quickly,

Herbie, record all the readings on the

dial. I don't want to lose them.

Hey, hold the noise down, will you?You

want me to become a bundle of knives or

what? What are you two yo-yos working on

anyway?You tell him, Herbie, I'm busy. I

can't read. It might require words of

more than one syllable. So how could poor

Ben ever understand?Well,

hardy-har-har. Now look here, wise

guy. Anything a rust bot like you

can understand. All right, knock it off,

you two. Now I'll explain it. Ben,

I think I've found the existence of a new

world that lies parallel to Earth. It's

another dimension, which I've named the

negative zone. I'm trying

to do what no man has ever done before.

I'm trying to take a picture of it, so we

can see what the negative zone looks

like. So, what's the big deal?Who

needs a negative zone?We do, Ben.

It may contain new sources of power,

which might help Earth's energy crisis.

Well, what do you know?Reed,

Ben, I've got a surprise for you.

Say hello to Lockjaw, our new pet

watchdog. That's a watchdog!

Where'd you get him, Sue?I borrowed him

from Medusa, the leader of the Inhumans.

Isn't he cute?Personally, Laffy is more

my type. Careful, he may be sensitive.

Yeah, he looks as sensitive as a fighting

mad gorilla, and twice as ugly. He's

really very gentle, and he knows a lot of

tricks. How'd you get him here, Sue?

That's the amazing thing! He has a

wonderful superpower! Yeah, he can

probably eat anything in sight!

Oh, it looks as if he wants to be

friendly then. Yeah! He

sure picked the wrong guy! Hey, look at

that! He was just thirsty! Hey,

don't eat the whole glass, lame brain!

Oh, no!

This is humiliating! Look, I got

enough trouble with Ivy!Why don't you go

chase a cat or something? He thinks I want

to play with him. Congratulations,

Benjamin. You finally found your mental

equal. It's lucky for you, I ain't sure

what you meant by that. Listen, the

automatic camera alarm. It's the negative

zone. And we're the first humans to see

it.

Are there any minerals we can use on

Earth?I don't know. Maybe Herbie can

compute the answer.

Well, what's the result?There's not

enough evidence. It doesn't compute. If

only we could go there and bring back

rock samples. We can, Reed. Don't be

silly, Sue. There's no way to get there.

But there is. I've been trying to tell

you. Remember when I said that Lockjaw

had a super special power?Yes.

Watch, Lockjaw. Go down the street.

Now! He's gone!

What happened?Look, out of the window.

It's Lockjaw, in the street below. But,

but how?That's his

superpower. He can go anywhere

just by thinking of it. You mean he has

the power of teleportation?Right. Oh

yeah?Well, prove it again. Maybe

the first time was just a lucky fluke.

Hey, Lockjaw, come on back up

here again, now.

Okay, okay, okay I believe you.

Reed, I can get Lockjaw to take me to the

Negative Zone. Then I'll go to Protector.

Great. Herbie and I will stay here at the

screen and analyze your every move.

Think, Lockjaw. Think of the

Negative Zone. Think.

Think. Think. Think.

Think. They made it!

I'll turn up the audio so we can hear

them. Now what do we do?

Stay back, Susie. They sure ain't the

welcome wagon.

They're being attacked by some sort of

flying demons, and there's no way for us

to help them. Oh, I should never have let

them go alone. But Ben and Sue have their

own special powers. They're not helpless.

Okay, kiddies, if it's a fight you want,

we'll see that you get it. Ben, look out!

This is kid stuff. And now...

it's my turn!

Steer-ite! I'll use

my invisible force field to hold themoff.

And by making them invisible, I'll cause

them to fly right into each other.

Ben!Look out! I'll use a force field

on that one.

Lockjaw, let him go! They've had enough!

Wow! We beat him, Susie! But why

did they want to fight us?It was as if

they were protecting something. Yeah,

but what?Hey, hey, look at Lockjaw.

He found something. It's like... Some

sort of huge cocoon. Look at the

size of it. Oh boy, if there's

a caterpillar in this thing, I wouldn't

want to see the butterfly that comes out.

Ben, I've got an idea. This must be what

those flying creatures were protecting.

Could be, but I wonder why.

There's a sound, like a heartbeat.

Whatever is in there, it's

alive. Ben, maybe they

weren't protecting it. Maybe they were

trying to destroy it. Who can figure

flying demons?Ask me, we ought to get out

of here. I got a hunch Lockjaw

agrees with me. First, I'll contact our

headquarters. Reed, this is Sue.

Come in, Reed. The

Negative Zone is more dangerous than I

thought. You must leave at once. But

bring the cocoon with you. I want to

study it. We'll put it on Lockjaw's back

and return immediately. Nuts. I didn't

even get any souvenirs. Now pay

attention, Lockjaw. It's time for us to

return home. Start thinking of

Reed's laboratory, boy. Ready, Ben?Yeah,

let's get going. Here they

come. Hi, Stretcho.

Long time no see. Oh,

quit that, will ya?Just my luck.

When Herbie ain't bugging me, I got

Lockjaw. Oh, Ben. Lockjaw's

just being friendly. Yeah?Well,

how's about teaching him to shake hands

next time?Easy with that cocoon, Ben.

Quiet now. I want to examine it as

carefully as possible. There's definitely

a heartbeat. There's something alive in

there, but we'll have to wait until I can

get more powerful X-ray machines before I

can tell what it is. Might as well lie it

on the mat, Ben. Well, as long as you

don't ask me to sing in a lullaby. If we

only knew what it is. Reed,

we're all tired and overworked. Why don't

we all go out to dinner?Hey, that's a

great idea! Why, I ain't had a thing to

eat since lunch. But that was only an

hour ago. Who asked you, pothead?

Okay, it's settled. Let's go. What

about Lockjaw? We'll leave him here to

guard the cocoon. See you in a while, big

fella. Keep an eye on the cocoon for us.

For a moment, there is silence, then a

deep, sorrowful sigh, and

then... Even a giant dog

such as Lockjaw can know the pangs of

loneliness. For Lockjaw, like all

dogs, loves the company of humans. His

heart fills with sadness. He feels he's

been abandoned. He thinks his new friends

have deserted him. Then he remembers

something. Slowly, he turns

and walks back across the room with a

strong, silent cocoon lying

motionless on the floor.

poor Herbie it's a shame we can't get you

something to eat oh that's okay Sue

another glass of machine oil will do me

fine careful tin head you gotta watch

your diet it's no problem Benjamin you're

eating enough for everybody if you can

catch the waiter's eye I'd like some more

coffee I don't see him soWe'll just...

help ourselves.

Talk about service! I'm

glad you suggested this, Sue. It was a

wonderful dinner. But I am anxious to get

back soon. I'm still worried about what's

inside that mysterious cocoon.

I'm free at last!Not even

those winged demons could keep Blastar

a prisoner forever. I heard them

speak of your superpower. I

can use an accomplice. You shall

serve Blastar. I

will be your master. They

imprisoned me in the Negative Zone

because they feared my power.

But now I'm free!

In a different world, free to

use my power once more. The

invincible, expl*sive

power of Vestar!

Let the world beware. I'm

stronger than ever.

Now to see what kind of a world this

is. Ah, good,

goodThere is much for me to conquer, much

for me to destroy. Come,

now let us test your powers. Your new

master commands. Take me to the

world below.

Hear me, puny humans.

Heed the words of Blastar.

I am your new ruler. I am

Blastar, the Living Bumperst.

My power is supreme.

And if proof is needed, then

proof you shall have.

Run! Flee while you may.

Spread the word throughout the land that

Blastar is here. In this

world, there are no winged demons to stop

me, to keep me prisoner. These

people flee from me as the demons did

before they ambushed me. In this

world, Blastar will conquer

all.

Attention. Attention. Oh, I hope it

ain't trouble. I didn't finish my

tutti-fruitti ice cream yet. Quiet, Ben.

I want to hear this. A strange,

super-powered being has been threatening

the city along with a gigantic dog-like

creature. Hey, that sounds like Lockjaw.

Reed! Do you think...?It is

Lockjaw. It must be. What are we waiting

for?Let's go.

Everyone keep a sharp lookout for a

disturbance of any kind. I hope we get

there before something happens to the

dog. I thought you said he bugged you.

Oh, yeah, well, you bugged me too, but

that don't mean... Heads up, Ben. We've

reached them. There's trouble ahead.

It is Lockjaw, but... who's that

with him?

Set her down, Stretcho. We'll soon find

out. There. We have shown

them the power of Blackstar.

Though none will ever dare to resist me.

I wouldn't count on that, mister. Why do

you not flee like all the rest?Because we

are the Fantastic Four. And, uh,

fleeing ain't exactly our bag, you know?

Now, since you're an old guy

with a beard, I'll try not to hurt you

too much. What?You

dare mock me?

I've got to protect Ben from any more

expl*sive blasts.

Easy, Herbie. I'll get you.

Thank you, Reed. I felt like I was headed

for outer space. And now for Blastar.

So, it is you who is the leader.

Quick Sue, trap them in your force field.

Blastar, help your master. Get us out of

here. They've escaped.

And what's even worse, poor Lockjaw

thinks that Blastar is his friend. What

are we gonna do now?

Look, what's that?Fools.

Soon all the world will know that I am

Blastar, the living Bomburst.

Remember Lockjaw, Blastar is your

master, your friend. All others are

your enemies.

Special warning to all citizens. Avoid

Blastar and the gigantic dog... There

they are. Hang on.

That sound. I've heard it before.

My super-powered foes have returned.

But not even they can stop me, so

long as Lockjaw obeys my command.

Take us away once again! Richard...

They've gone! How are we going to stop him?

I don't know, Ben. But unless we find an

answer, all the world's in deadly danger.

Blastar is running amok and nobody can

stop it.

What about you, Stretcho?Ain't you got

any ideas?Yes, Ben. I've given

Herbie a project to work on. Project?

Well, this is a heck of a time for

projects. Listen, Ben. I know this is

serious. I feel responsible. Yes,

we did bring Blastar here from the

Negative Zone, and we shouldn't have let

Lockjaw out of our sight. I did it, Reed,

I did it! I completed your project.

Following your instructions, I created a

helmet which can take away Blastar's

power. Yeah, but the only problem is,

uh.. how you gonna get him to put it on,

huhAttention. Attention.

Blastar has just been sighted in the West

I've been waiting for. Okay, let's go.

This time he ain't gonna get away.

Soon all the world will bow before the

expl*sive power of Blastar. Look,

a Fantastic Four. They're just in time.

Kirby, you know what to do while we

attack Blastar. Correction, Richards.

It is Vastar who will attack.

Now, Sid, as we planned. I'll protect us

with my force field. He's

trying to break it. Good. This is just

what we want. I'll keep him occupied

while Herbie does what we planned. Nice

matcha. Nice little doggy. Just

let Herbie put this tracer on you. It

worked. Now to tell Reed.

Look! Lockjaw's trying to protect us from

Blastar! You fool dog! Get

out of my way! No!

Don't shove me! What are you doing?

They're gone! I did what you told me,

Reed. Lockjaw has your tracer on him.

Good. Now we can find them no matter

where they go. I only hope it's a

desolate place, where people can't be

hurt. All right, Herbie, start computing.

It's working! I can deal in on where they

are! I always knew that little tin head

would come in handy someday! Let's go!

This will be the showdown.

Ah What sort of place have you

brought me to?It is lonely and

deserted. Why do you look at me like that?

I sense that you begin to distress me.

Then I shall have to teach you a lesson.

You must learn who is your master!

The Fantastic Four! Ten,

two... Let's go!

We hear you talking, mister! This time,

Blastar, you will not escape us.

Escape you, you fool!

This time I'll destroy you!

Not if Kirby does what he's supposed to!

Got it, Sue! You should have left well

enough alone! I must not miss!

I must not miss! Now,

for my most powerful b*mb

blast!

All my power is gone!

This helmet...

It's stuck to my head! I

can't remove it!

Sure, that's the idea, kiddo!

Oyby made it out of Reed's Super Stick

'Em Stuff. Good work, Ben. This'll do

it. Hey, look at it, doggy. He wants to

be friends again. Oh, Lockjaw, we

forgive you. You didn't realize what you

were doing.

Yeah! I didn't know when I was well

off. What are you doing to me?

Imprisoning you in another cocoon, just

the way we found you. Only this one is

stronger. Ready, Sue?Ben?

Yes, Reed. You know it, Stretcho. All

right, Lockshaw, you know what to do.

We're

back in the negative zone. But, Ben,

why did you take those steel girders?

'Cause this time, I'm gonna do the job

right. Come here, sonny boy. You're in

for a long, long vacation.

That'll hold him.

Look! The flying creatures are back.

But this time, they're not bothering us.

Sure, they got nothing against us. They

just never wanted Blastar to be freed.

And we didn't understand them. Ready for

the trip back, Lockjaw?I guess this means

he's ready, huh

Welcome home. Looks like everything

worked out OK, huhExcept we never

did get any mineral samples to study for

energy. Hey. Hey, what's this?I got

caught between my toes here. How about

that? It's a nutty pebble from the

negative zone. Quick, Herbie, take it.

Use your computers to make a mineral

analysis. HmmIt's different from the

rocks on Earth. When we analyze it, we

will be able to learn a great deal about

energy. Then our adventure wasn't in

vain. We got what we were after. But why

does Ben look so unhappy?Well, why

shouldn't I?I mean, it's okay for you

three to celebrate, but, uh, I'm the

one that Lockjaw wants to play with.

And this is getting ridiculous.
