of clearing my head's always been

to swing above the hustle and bustle
of the city below.

spider-virus outbreak,

that hustle and bustle
has gone up a notch.

In fact, it's gone up about 20 stories.

Hey, all, I'm looking
for a purse snatcher.

Medium build, sticky fingers,
spider powers.

Everyone's had powers for, like, one day,
and they think they own the skies.

with their organic web shooters
like there's no tomorrow.

While I feel my college savings dip

I made it home last night,
but something's wrong.

[GLASS SHATTERS OVER PHONE]

[PEOPLE SHOUTING]

What's with the crowd?

Haven't seen a mob like this
since the new Stark phone came out.

[PEOPLE CHEERING]

[PEOPLE WHOOPING]

Oh, I get it, these are what adoring fans
sound like.

about Spider-Man, right? Amazing.

I mean, what that guy can do with a web.

Does that guy actually know her?

PETER:

[MURMURING]

[KNOCKS]

[CLATTERING, GLASS SHATTERING]

[CROWD MURMURING]

MAN 1: It's a monster.
MAN 2: Where's Spider-Gwen?

[CROWD GASP]

PETER:
That's exactly what I wanna know.

-[GRUNTS]
-[SCOWLS]

[GRUNTS] I could use
a little spider-powered help here, guys.

Just because we have powers doesn't mean
we're heroes like Spider-Gwen.

What about Spider-Man?

Pfft, menace.

-[GROWLING]
-[GRUNTING]

Ugh, spider breath.

Back off, Gwen. Parker's not on the menu.

PETER:
Anya?

[GRUNTS]

Two things, first, wow!

And second, why do you think
that spider-monster is Gwen?

First, don't be so surprised.

Second, it's wearing what's left
of Gwen's costume.

[GROWLING AND SCREECHING]

And third, I'm smarter than you
and already pieced this together.

Why did I know that last part was coming?

[GROWLING]

ANYA:
Wait! Gwen!

Okay, let's go.

PETER:
Where there's smoke there's fire.

[CLATTERING, THUDS]

[CROWD GASPS AND YELLS]

-[WHIMPERING]
-[GRUNTS]

[SHATTERS, CAR ALARM BLARING]

Gwen left a voice mail.

Said something was happening to her.

She must've called me
when she couldn't reach you.

-Then the phone went dead.
-[GROWLING]

[EXCLAIMS]

[GRUNTS]

-[GROWLS]
-[GRUNTS]

I'll wrap this up, you go for help.

You're not seriously side-lining me,
are you, Parker?

Because Gwen's my best friend,
so I'm staying.

-[GRUNTS] But--
-If this was Harry, you'd do the same.

She's still Gwen.

[SCREECHES]

You're still in there, Gwen. Aren't you?

Come on. Let's get you back
to Horizon, figure out a cure.

-[ROARS]
-[EXCLAIMS]

[GRUNTS]

I'd take that as a "no."

Okay, okay. Let's get Gwen-Monster
into the alley.

Oh, so now it's okay to call her
"Gwen-Monster."

You kidding? Did you hear that screaming?

That's movie monster screaming.

PETER:
Almost there.

[SCREECHES]

Keep on her.

-[SCREECHES AND GROWLS]
-There's nowhere left to go, Gwen.

Just make this easy and give up.

[ROARING]

PETER: That does not sound like
"I surrender." [GRUNTS]

[GROWLS]

You sure picked up quick
on those spider powers.

It's all in the wrist. [YELPS]

Uh, maybe it was just luck. [GRUNTS]

Kraven the Hunter.

When the entire island of Manhattan
gained spider powers, I thought,

Then when I saw on the news
a hideous spider-creature emerged,

but Gwen turned into a spider-monster too.

I'll believe anything at this point.

I just got freaked out the other day

But right now, that's the least

the mysterious stealth spider.

And since he was the first one
with spider powers,

he'd be the first one to mutate
to a monster.

I-- I have to know for sure.

to be alive.

But if he is, then I also need
to figure out

why he tried to poison the city
as the stealth spider.

if I'm gonna synthesize a cure.

We should head directly there.

Perfect.

I will exact my revenge
for the disrespect you showed me

-[GROWLS]

There's armor for everyone.
If we're gonna stop these guys,

you're gonna need more
than just spider powers.

Good, because some of mine just broke.

[GRUNTS, GROANS]

[CHITTERING]

-[CHITTERING]

I'm here to help you, honey.

[GROWLING]

[CHITTERING AND COOING]

[GROANS]
