It's Spider-Woman!

[THEME MUSIC PLAYING]

NARRATOR:
And this is Jessica Drew,

who, as a child, while visiting
her father's laboratory,

was bitten by a poisonous spider.

Forced to try an untested spider serum,

Dr. Drew not only saved

but unknowingly gave her
incredible spider-like powers.

We're here for the gold shipment.

Oh, I'm sorry, ma'am.

Nobody told me anything about it.

That won't be necessary.
This isn't a deposit. It's a withdrawal.

Those women are picking up gold bars
like they were sacks of groceries.

JEFF:
Jessica, you've been spending

too much time cooped up in this office.

All work and no play.

crime-reporting magazine in the country?

[BELL TOLLS]

especially not a bunch of ladies.

JESSICA:
I'm not so sure about that, Tarzan.

My spider-sense tells me
those lady warriors are very real.

We better check it out.

But where do we start?

With those flying saucers of theirs,
they could be based almost anywhere.

Well, not quite anywhere.

if you were an Amazon warrior?

My geography book says it's the location
of a lost Inca city of gold.

Well, it does make sense.
Let's take a look in the jet-copter.

Lost city of gold, huh?
All I see is a little fishing village.

That's close enough.
After all, we're fishing for clues.

JEFF:
All right. I'm taking her down.

Wow! This is better
than a geography book, any day.

Come on, you two.
I found a boat to take us up river.

Chatah take you back to village now.

We've got to keep going
until we find that lost city.

CHATAH:
Nothing ahead but white water

and man-eating piranha.

These waters are forbidden.

JESSICA:
That thing doesn't look very friendly,

but we've got to go on.

You're not afraid of an old stone statue,

[SPLASHING]

[STONE SCRAPING]

[LASER BEAM STRIKES]

This is like a roller without a coaster.

JESSICA:
No wonder

Chatah didn't want to take us any farther.

If only Spider-Woman were here.

SPIDER-WOMAN:
Jessica will have to disappear overboard.

Now to take care of Billy and Jeff.

No jungle sound I ever heard.

You are prisoners of the new Inca empire.

Inca empire?

Resistance is futile.

[LASER BEAM STRIKES]

BILLY: Jeff!
-Bring them aboard. Shanna is waiting.

Jeff! Billy! Where are you?

Their tracks, but they just stop!

JESSICA:
My spider-sense tells me

the Amazons have them, but where?

I've got to find them. They're in danger.

Held prisoner by four beautiful women.
I must be dreaming.

It's not a dream, Jeff.
It's a nightmare. Look!

I'm close. I can feel it.

The hidden entrance,

just as I saw it with my spider-sense.

But an entrance to what?

We've got to get back
and find poor Jessica.

-But how?
JEFF: By closing your eyes. Now!

AMAZON 1:
That light! I can't see.

Run, Billy! Find Jessica.

AMAZON 2:
Don't let them get away.

I guess I lost them.

AMAZON 2:
You shall pay for this, stranger.

-At least Billy got away.
AMAZON 3: He will not elude us for long.

-But now we must take you to Shanna.
JEFF: That's right!

Take me to your leader.
I'll straighten things out with him.

[WOMEN LAUGHING]

Shanna will deal with you herself.

SPIDER-WOMAN:
So this is where the Amazons come from!

A hidden city of gold
with its own technology.

AMAZON:
Faster, you men!

SPIDER-WOMAN:
Jeff?

Guards! Seize that stranger.

They'd love to help,
but they're all tied up at the moment.

[ZAPPING]

Trying to give me a hot foot, huh?
Well, what do you have to say about this?

Amazons, attack!

And I had to ask.

I guess there's only one way out,
and that's up.

Sorry to leap and run,

but I have to meet some friends.

No sign of Jeff now.

JEFF:
Help! Get me out of here!

But my spider-sensitive hearing tells me
he's in there!

JEFF: Help!
-This feels like a trap,

but I've got to find Jeff.

Jeff?

SHANNA:
He is close by, Spider-Woman.

But forget your spider tricks.

[GROWLING]

Resistance is useless against Shanna.

We'll see how you stand up
to a venom blast!

[ZAPPING]

[WHOOSHING]

Not even you can withstand
that limitless energy of the sun god!

And what have you done with Billy?

He has escaped me for the moment.

Promise me you won't harm them,
and I'll do what you say.

I will do nothing if you will lead
our final raid for gold.

-Agreed.
-Prepare her!

And the man, Jeff?

It will be as I promised.

We shall do nothing.

Once Spider-Woman leads that raid,

I will have no need for a hostage.

[GROWLS]

And the great cat?

I have sent her hunting for the boy!

[PANTHER GROWLING]

Uh-oh. I better get out of here.

I've backed myself into a dead end!

[GROWLING]

[GROWLING]

This must be some kind of a tunnel.

Why doesn't Shanna lead this raid herself?

She has not left the hidden valley
since the fall of the Inca.

But that would make her
over 400 years old!

That is true.

SPIDER-WOMAN:
I hope Jeff gets along with older women.

Maybe this tunnel isn't endless after all!

I've got to get out of here.

Jeff!

Billy! Turn these things off!

JEFF:

[GROWLING]

Now, let's get out of this Inca nightmare
and find Jessica.

[ZAPPING]

Quickly, warriors! Load the gold.

Spider-Woman! She's turned renegade.

SHANNA:
You have done well, Spider-Woman.

With this gold, we can finish
the solar equipment we need

to begin our takeover!

You mean solar energy
powers all this equipment?

Everything in the valley, the power cubes,
even the flying sleds!

But we can discuss that later.

Now we must rest for the battle.

But Jeff and Billy.

After the conquest, Spider-Woman.

SHANNA:
Mala, take our guest to her room.

Locked.

Some room!

Cell would be more like it.

But if they really expected me
to stay in here,

they shouldn't have given me
a room with a view.

But I better trade in these spider threads
for something a little less conspicuous.

Are we lost, Jeff?

But I'd feel better if we were leaving
a trail of bread crumbs.

I wonder what's in there.

[WHIRRING]

JEFF:
I don't know.

But it sounds like a power plant.

Maybe these things are giant batteries.

You can sure get a charge out of them.

AMAZON:
I heard a sound in here. Search this room.

Let's get out of here!

AMAZON:

JESSICA:

Jeff, it's me, Jessica.

Jessica! I've been worried about you.

This is the way out?

JESSICA:

AMAZON:

Don't let them get away again.

Then what are we waiting for?

BILLY:
Wow! Look at the view from up here.

I'll say. It looks like
there's an entire army down there.

Right, Jeff, an invasion army,
and it looks ready to take off.

JESSICA:
I've got to get out,

so I can change into Spider-Woman.

Jeff, look, one of their vehicles.

Say, I bet I could fly that thing.

Good! I mean, uh, I'll be right back.
I dropped my purse.

Now to pull the plug on Shanna's
solar-powered plant.

Beginning with a non-stop trip
back to the basement.

Before Jessica gets back, let's get
an aerial shot of that Amazon armada.

Okay! Here it goes.

That light. The prisoners!

Activate the sun disc.

I forgot about the flash attachment.

They see us!

[WHIRS]

JEFF:
We'd better pick up Jessica and get out!

[WHIRRING]

[ZAPPING]

BILLY:
That thing was aiming for us!

JEFF:
Hang on, Billy!

[ZAPPING]

SPIDER-WOMAN:
Jeff and Billy are in danger.

I've got to get to them
before that overgrown spotlight does.

You're too late, Spider-Woman!
My warriors are leaving without you.

And you can forget about your friends,
until you deal with me and my friends.

Two against one isn't really fair.

[ROARING]

The odds are a little more even now.

We'll see about that!

BILLY:
All right, Jeff! What a pilot!

[WHIRS]

JEFF:
Nothing to...

[ZAPPING]

Remember, Jeff, never work without a net.

You should have saved
your energy, Spider-Woman!

I'm stronger now.

SPIDER-WOMAN:
But still not quick enough.

My ring! Give me back my ring.

Sure! Go get it.

No! Not out of the valley.

[BLASTS]

JEFF:
It was like she hit some sort of barrier,

and then, the whole valley disappeared!

She did, Jeff. A time barrier.

That's why she couldn't leave this valley.

I hope Aunt Jessica can find her way
back here on her own.

Without Shanna and her sun disc,
she sure can't fly back.

None of the Amazon equipment
works without her lost power.

JESSICA:
And Shanna's plot to take over the world

is gone forever.

JEFF:
How'd you get back here so fast?

A friend dropped me off.

I'll bet it was Spider-Woman, huh?

She sure is terrific.

I'm glad she got between us
and those Amazons.

I didn't know women could be so tough.

We can be just as tough as men. Ahhh!

Ugh. I almost broke a nail.
