Five reasons why I think I should win--

My first reason is my niece.

I would like to be able to put her through college.

Two is I could pay off my student loans.

Number three is, although I certainly

didn't come on the "Big Brother" show with money

or winning the grand prize as my main objective,

it's certainly important to me.

The fourth reason--

my kids are kind of expecting it.

Number five, because I want it more than anyone else.

[theme music]

NARRATOR: Josh talks about the impact

of Brittany's banishment.

The change isn't going to be an internal change.

I think it's going to be a change in the sense

that we know that we've lost one of our strongest characters

in the house, and that makes us a tighter group in the sense

that we know we have to stay together and bond together

to face the challenges that we're going to meet.

And I think her leaving made us realize that.

And she's a tough cookie.

She's someone we like to have around.

And without that, we know that we have to stand together.

We're not as strong individually.

And I think that's probably what's going to happen.

I think we're just going to become a tighter group.

And the smaller the group is, the tighter it will become.

No one's ever going to fill the space that Brittany left.

She's an individual on her own, definitely.

I'm sure she's making someone laugh

somewhere, dancing, acting crazy,

by dying somebody's hair.

Whatever she's doing, I hope she's having fun.

I wish her the best.

You OK?

Yeah.

Fine.

I'm still trying to get over why I would have reacted

so strongly to her leaving.

And I don't know if it was the surprise or the fact

that we were very close.

You guys were very close.

But also, you really thought for those few moments

that it was you.

That's an emotional thing.

And, I mean, you guys did play off of each other

really well, you know?

Huh?

You guys really did play off of each other really well.

That's your pool rap partner and all of that, you know?

Yeah, that's true.

I guess, also, I would worry about her the most--

- I know. - --out of anybody [inaudible].

I know.

I understand that.

Curtis, do you realize?

We're going to be here through the middle of September?

[inaudible]

I know!

I guess I want to be here, and definitely, I want to win.

Everybody does.

Yes, of course. Of course.

It's stupid to say that, you know.

Of course.

But I haven't allowed myself to get

competitive mentally about it.

I know.

Also it's just not so much of a game.

Because it doesn't depend on skill or anything that you can

do.

Mhm.

And it's just a big popularity contest.

Mhm.

Mhm.

Which, by the way, we no longer at all

can gauge what makes someone popular.

No.

Or non-banishable.

Yeah.

Which are two different questions.

Exactly. [laughter]

Exactly.

Well, this is-- I think it's pretty cool to--

you know, to be where we are now.

Yeah.

Again, one of the things I think that was hard about Brit

was that--

like, with Karen, when I was nominated with Karen,

she wanted to go.

Yeah.

And when she got that, and Josh and I got to stay,

you didn't have to feel like you were taking

anything away from anybody.

Now it's a little different with Brit, in the sense

that there were so many of us nominated.

Yeah.

But you know that of everybody--

She wanted!

--she desperately wanted to be here.

Yeah.

So there is this--

not guilt, but just the feeling of, oh, gosh,

I'm sorry about that.

You know?

Yeah.

I guess, for me, my expectation levels were not so high.

So I'm doing pretty well.

So everything else is so great.

Mhm.

Don't want to put the finger in there.

I did that one time, early on.

Oh, man, it hurt for, like, days, Curtis.

Cassandra?

What?

You cut, you smash your fingers.

I do terrible things to myself.

And nobody ever knows.

Isn't that funny?

[theme music]

You know what would take the happiness out of this house?

What?

You bring in three suitcases filled with money.

And they'll say, oh, [muted] that's right.

Bing!

It's not just survive.

It's get paid, you know what I'm saying?

People'd be, like, oh, no, you know what?

[muted] you.

[laughter]

That's how it would go.

I'm telling you.

You're rude, [inaudible].

[laughter]

I'm telling you, man.

The color green makes people just--

blip!

Just sit there, and people would just look at it, and go.

I mean, people could touch it and smell it.

[laughter]

And people would just sleep in it.

And just be, like, oh, man.

[laughter]

You know what's hilarious [inaudible]??

There's no place to spend it here.

- I know. - You know?

[laughter]

Dude, you might as well just use it for toilet paper.

[laughter]

That'd be some--

You'd never do it, though.

If I knew I wasn't going to win it, yeah, I would.

[laughter]

Yeah.

I'm telling you, if they would bring the cash in here,

you want to see some [muted] hit the fan?

Yep.

Because everybody remember, they'll

have that initial instinct, even you, George.

That initial instinct to why you came in here.

Because it'll bring back into light

that this is a contest and not a free love fest, you know?

You'd get into that, wouldn't you?

I'd just like to see people's reactions to it.

I could see, like, Curtis wouldn't be able to breathe.

He'd be like [gasping].

Dude, breathe.

[exaggerated breathing]

[laughter]

You know?

You think that would throw a different perspective

on this whole thing, Eddie?

Oh, without a doubt.

Because in the beginning, when everybody was first here,

we all had this cut throat mentality.

And when you get to this point, everybody is so close.

We've lost sight of what's at the end, you know?

Everyone says, oh, you know, $,, $,.

It's like a light at the end of the tunnel, you know.

But it's not really an image.

And then yet-- if you put that thing

into something they could see and touch and smell and taste--

And burn.

--and burn, yeah, that initial instinct comes back.

And it's not a bad instinct.

It's not really a greedy instinct.

It's the want to provide for loved ones, I think.

Well, I know with me it is.

It might just be greed with other people.

[laughter]

But with me, it's just the want to provide for my family.

That's what it is for me.

It'd be back to day one.

Hi, how you doing?

Nice to meet you--

that type of view, you know.

I know it's the same, particularly with you and me.

But with other people, you know?

I like you, Eddie.

[laughter]

I tell you what, though.

This isn't the trippy two weeks.

No, the next two weeks are.

The next two weeks after that, because that's real fast.

That's when it's just, like, wheels are flying.

Yeah, it's going to be awesome.

I hope I'm here for that.

People are going be all [muted] up in the head.

It's going to be awesome.

I was talking to George.

I said, if you really want to [muted]

the aura of the house, what you do

is you place that cash in here.

I would just look the other way.

But I'm just telling you, you know what?

Because what happens then is that people's--

Greed?

--original instinct that they came in here with comes back.

And they go back to it. - I don't know.

Because I didn't come in with that original instinct.

Really?

Not at all.

Well, that's good.

I give you credit for that.

That's funny.

Because, like, my original reason for coming in here--

they asked me this, too--

was why do you want to come in here?

I said, because you know, here--

you see me hours a day, you know?

And I said, I spend so much time by myself that it bugs me

that my family, my friends, and everyone else

sees different parts of me.

And they don't get to see all of me.

And just-- it's kind of rough living your whole life

like that, you know?

I suppose.

At least here, I said, when I come out, they'll--

They'll see all aspects of you.

The people that stick around, those are my true friends,

you know? - Yeah, that's true.

Your best friend is a person who knows all about you

and still likes you.

That's what I'm saying.

That's exactly my point.

Yeah.

And so, like my family-- they never

heard me cuss or drink beer.

And I've done plenty of that in here.

[laughs]

You know, and I want to.

I don't want to be all uptight or whatever.

Right, right, right.

better to go from rich to poor or poor to rich.

And then I'd just reminisce about it later

as I'm eating bread and water.

And say, yeah, remember that?

When I was about , and I was doing this.

And I was doing that.

I'll remember.

I don't need to tell anybody about it.

I'll know I did it.

Jenny, what would you do?

I'm thinking about it.

I go back and forth.

The things is, like, you never know how long you're here for.

That's the first thing.

Well, hypothetically you're here to--

You're here until , no matter what?

Yeah.

And your health is fine, then, no matter what.

Poor to rich, then, because of other people.

I'm asking-- it's just you.

Just me?

Just you, yeah, like--

So you're never with anyone else?

No, well, that's what I said. I said--

I don't like it hypothetical.

No, I said--

[laughter]

I said if it was just me, it it was just me,

I'd rather be rich now, poor later.

But in terms of family--

If it were just me, because--

you could have any-- - You'd still go rich to poor?

Yeah, if you didn't have anyone to share

it with when you're older.

Yeah.

That's really the only point, I think.

You would go--

you would go poor to rich, Cassandra?

I'd go rich to poor.

Because I'd figure that I could do something with the money.

Oh, yeah.

While young?

While young.

You know, I figure I could make the money grow for me.

So I'd go rich to poor.

I'm saying poor to rich.

I haven't had a job my whole life,

and I'm happy now as I am.

And if I'm rich later, that's fine.

Figure I'll be happy through my life this way.

I think so, too.

Also, like, I wouldn't want to just be living on memories

of all the great things I did.

I mean, I'd rather be living the moment,

as I'm rich, with the money.

- I understand that. - You know what I mean?

Yeah.

Because when you look back, we all

have selective memories anyway.

So the selective memory of being poor,

would be, like, I loved it.

It was cool.

Remember back when we were eating on $. a day?

[laughter]

Well, I would go for the poor to rich thing, too.

And I think it'd be so hard, let's say,

once you did get a taste of it.

Like I was saying, that you've got to jump over the fence

and lay in the green grass.

And then make that jump back--

That'd be hard.

That would-- that might be enough to k*ll you,

right there! - That's true.

[laughter]

NARRATOR: For tonight's challenge--

NARRATOR: --we're going to call each one of you to the red room

to give five reasons why you deserve to win the grand prize.

You have minutes to think about it, and each one of you

has to go to a different room.

[mechanical noises]

[door creaking]

All right, you ready?

Because I know I am.

[claps]

Number one--

I come from an average, hardworking family who

can never seem to get ahead.

Number two, by winning this money,

I'll be given the opportunity to put my brother

through proper schooling, college education

to help him better get a career that he

wants and deserves in life.

Number three, I'll be able to relocate my family

to a better environment.

Number four, I'll be able to better provide

financial stability for my family.

And number five, because I want it more than anyone else.

My first reason is my niece.

I would like to be able to put her through college.

My second reason is I think that people in positions of power

with money have abused it.

And I would like to be in a position

where I would be able to show that I wouldn't abuse it.

My third reason is that I have close to $,

in student loans that I'd like to pay back.

My fourth reason is that I know money doesn't bring happiness,

because I'm a happy person right now and I'm flat broke.

And my final reason is my family comes from humble beginnings,

and I'd just like to make my family proud.

That's it.

The number one reason that George could

use the money would be this--

it would allow me an opportunity to finish my education.

My number two-- my oldest daughter

is going to be going to college next year.

I have some money saved that we've

been doing over the years.

But I do not nearly have enough.

My third reason is this--

I have had to just get by my whole life,

basically, paycheck to paycheck or just

borrowing just to survive.

It would be nice, for once in my life, not to have to do that.

The fourth reason-- my kids are kind of expecting it.

And the fifth reason, my mom needs a new car.

Number one is that I believe that I've been a positive force

in the "Big Brother" house.

I've tried to be a stabilizing factor

and really develop a sense of community in the house.

Number two is that I've tried to be true to who Cassandra is.

I've tried to ensure that the person that I am

in the house and the daily life that I lead in the house

is true to who I was before I came here.

Number three is, if I were able to win the grand prize,

I would be able to do enormous things

for my family, particularly my mother, as she gets older.

Number four is, it's my understanding that

in the other "Big Brother" shows in Europe,

no woman has ever won.

And I think it would be amazing for a woman to win the US "Big

Brother" competition.

And I would love to be that woman.

And number five is related to number four.

We're now down to only two women and four men,

and women seem to be dropping like flies.

And I've have tried to ensure that I'm

very competitive with the guys that are here,

and also that I go head to head with them emotionally,

intellectually, and in terms of the physical activities

that we're involved in.

And hopefully, I've shown that.

I can do that.

One is that in coming here, I made a big decision to pursue

what I'm passionate about.

And in doing so, left behind, you know,

a great career, financial stability, all that stuff.

So winning would help out a lot with that respect.

Two is I could pay off my student loans.

Three is that I've just come here to have

fun and not have a strategy.

And I think that's important.

I mean, I've made decisions here that, you know,

aren't great for strategy, but they're the right thing to do.

Four is basically that my outlook on the whole thing--

that I've failed at a lot of things in life,

but I've also succeeded at a few.

And I feel like if this is meant to be it will happen.

And if it does, you can believe that I'm going to enjoy

every single moment of it.

And number five, and probably the most important reason

for me is that I can honestly say that there

are good people in this house.

There are people with good hearts here.

And I would be very happy for any of them to win,

almost as happy as if I did.

So that's it.

The five reasons why I think that I would be

deserving of the grand prize--

first, although I am not a perfect person,

I've tried to live a good, decent life.

And I think I've been pretty successful at that.

Second, while in the "Big Brother" house,

I think I've continued to live a good, decent life.

I've contributed a lot, I think, to the chores

and in the challenges, and also, just towards making

this whole situation work.

Third, if I win the prize, it means that I'll have stayed

the whole three months here.

And already the first two months have been great.

I've learned a lot and had a lot of fun.

Fourth, I think the money would be wonderful.

I think that when I get out of here,

I still plan to be an attorney and do some good with my law

degree and the skills that I have.

Having the money would free me up so

I don't have to just be an attorney working for money.

I can go out there and be a good public servant

and do some good.

And I guess, really, the final reason is that I just believe

that the person who is most deserving of the final prize

will win it.

I didn't predict that we'd all get along this well.

Well, can I tell you what I've noticed?

OK, like, in the beginning, there

was, like, groups of people.

OK, that people would stick with this people and this people

and this people, OK.

But I've noticed now that that isn't the case--

No.

--anymore.

You know, because I would tell you,

myself included, you know, there for a while.

It was kind of, like, me and Eddie for a while, you know?

And I was that way, too, for when I first come in here.

It was uncomfortable for me to--

let's say if you were Curtis, and I'm just using an example--

Uh huh.

--if you and Curtis and Hollywood were having a w.

Or Josh, I felt that it was uncomfortable for me

to step into that conversation. - Yep.

Oh.

OK?

And I feel, like, any time now I could sit with you guys--

Aw.

--and no problem whatsoever.

Aw.

And that's really neat.

Because in the beginning, in the beginning,

I was very uncomfortable.

Because not only just for maybe I was imposing, or you know,

maybe it was just something that was not proper

for me to be there at the time.

But now, I don't feel that way anymore.
