NARRATOR: Tonight on this live edition
of "Big Brother," four houseguests
are marked for banishment.
Do you know how bad this sucks?
NARRATOR: Who will they turn on this week--
Brittany the cuddler, Cassandra the diplomat,
Curtis the lawyer, tough-talking Eddie, George the roofer,
Jamie the beauty queen, Josh the ladies man,
or Karen the mother?
- One little thing. - No, it doesn't.
No, it doesn't.
Like that and you're sayonara.
No, it isn't.
NARRATOR: And then, find out who's going in as a surprise
new houseguest shakes things up live
right now on "Big Brother."
[theme music]
[applause]
Hi.
I'm Julie Chen.
Tonight, a new twist adds to the pressure inside the house.
We're going to tell the houseguests
the results of the nominations as we count them.
Now, in past weeks, we told the houseguest only who had
been marked with banishment.
But tonight, everyone will know exactly how
many of their housemates voted against them.
But let's begin with a completely different surprise.
Hi, everyone. It's Julie.
- Hi. - Hi, Julie.
Hi, Julie.
[laughs] How are you guys doing tonight?
Good.
Doing pretty good.
Just great.
JULIE: Well, tonight, we have a live challenge for everyone.
Uh-oh.
Damn.
JULIE: For one night only, we've put a phone in the red room.
And in a few moments, one of you will get the chance
to make a phone call.
Oh my gosh.
JULIE: And I emphasize only one of you.
And you can call anyone you wish.
But you'll only have seconds to talk.
Now comes the hard part.
You have the next three minutes to decide which one of you
gets to make that call.
And you must decide as a group.
You must reach a unanimous decision.
And it cannot be random.
You can't use dice.
You can't use a deck of cards to decide.
And I'll be back to hear your decision momentarily.
Your three minutes begin now.
I eliminate myself.
So I don't--
I eliminate myself.
I don't need a call either.
I think it should be one of you two guys.
I think it should be Karen and George, yeah.
You guys decide if you guys want to.
No, no, no.
You take it.
You take it. You take it.
I got my letters recently.
It's your turn.
Chicken man.
All right.
Chicken man it is.
- Would that be OK? - I feel good about it, man.
I feel good about it.
That would be wonderful, yeah.
That would be terrific.
You just better reenact the phone
call and every detail, voice, and sound you hear in Illinois.
You know--
Until we leave, yes.
Find out what's going on in front of the show.
I wonder what I can ask them.
Anything.
They're not going to stop you, man.
They are not stopping you--
OK, OK, you guys, tell me what you want me to ask.
I want you to ask them how they're doing.
I want you to have peace of mind first.
Yeah.
If you get three seconds afterwards--
Then, find out what's going on in their lives.
OK, come on.
What do you guys want? - Just tell them you love them.
Just enjoy yourself.
We don't need to know anything.
You need to enjoy your conversation.
I don't know want to know anything
about the outside world.
And they'll tell you anything that's important anyway.
That's true.
Yeah.
You just go in there and talk like you were-- yeah.
Because seconds will fly by.
So just enjoy it.
OK, help me out now.
No, because I guarantee you you'll have so much to say.
You have three kids and a wife.
So you have four people to talk to.
That's not-- - And I've got seconds.
- Yes. - Yes.
It's like seconds, seconds, seconds.
That's --
seconds a piece.
Uh-huh.
You know they're there waiting.
Totally.
This is great.
Piece of cake.
Man, that was an easy challenge.
--if somebody else can do it?
Just tell them that you love them.
And-- - Tell them we said hi.
- Tell them we love them. - Yeah.
Yeah.
Tell them we feel like we know them now.
Tell Theresa I'm going to connect the dots
on the freckles on her forearm.
[laughter]
Are you sure it's OK?
Positive.
I think it's awesome. Go for it.
- Positive - You're gonna have to--
I'm guessing you're gonna have to wait
until they ask you when, you know, if you decide or not
who our person is.
Probably from the red room and all.
- Yeah. - Wow.
Yeah.
So that's where the-- that's where the jack is.
[laughs]
I know.
I thought the same thing when they first said that.
Like one of you-- and I'm like, oh my god, I didn't even
know anybody's phone-- - Help me out.
What do you guys--
what-- what do you want to know?
You don't have time, George.
You have seconds. - Just talk to them.
You have like seconds to talk to each of them.
All you can really get out is, I love you and love you back.
And is everything OK?
Yeah.
You've got three daughters and wife to talk.
That's gonna take you plenty of time.
For sure.
We don't need to do anything.
That's seconds each.
But you guys are willing to give me the chance.
So I'm willing to share my time.
But it's true, George. You don't have the time.
You don't.
You just hear their voices.
You'll be amazed how quickly that minute goes by.
You need to hear their voices.
You don't have--
Houseguests, your three minutes are up.
It looks like you reached your decision very quickly.
George, it's going to you, is that right?
Thank you.
Well, don't thank me.
Thank your fellow houseguests.
Thank you, guys, a lot.
And who have you decided to call, your wife Teresa?
That is correct.
Karen, you gave it up very quickly.
But you looked like you wanted to perhaps take the call.
Why did you do that?
Because I just received some letters.
And so I figure it's been a while since he's had letters.
So this is good timing.
George?
Yes?
JULIE: How do you feel being the only one who gets to speak
to a loved one tonight?
I feel like I'm taking away--
everybody here wants to do something like this.
And I feel very much privileged that they
feel involved in their-- in my life
to give me that opportunity.
And that's why I'm willing to share so much of my life
with them.
Because it all equals out.
Well, George, why don't you spend the next few minutes
gathering your thoughts and thinking about what
you want to say to Teresa?
And we'll get back to you in a little bit.
Thank you.
OK.
Now in the meantime, let's bring you up to date.
Two houseguests have already been banished.
And tonight is the third round of nominations.
And as you know, every other week, the houseguests
step into the soundproof red room
and nominate two of their own for banishment.
And those with the two highest totals
are put before the public.
So let's begin tonight with Cassandra and Eddie
and see who they nominated.
I'm going to nominate Karen, because I think that she's
going to have a hard time emotionally
being away from her kids.
And I think it would be difficult for her
to stay the three months.
And it's taking a lot for the group to keep her spirits up.
And she'd probably just be happier on the outside.
And I'm going to nominate Brittany for similar reasons,
actually.
I think that it just takes too much for the group
to keep her on an even keel.
And we spend too much energy, as much
as we love her, trying to keep her from crying
and trying to keep her happy.
First nomination is Curtis.
No particular reason.
Had to come up with a name, and his popped into my mind.
Second nominee is Jamie.
Again, no reason why.
I have no qualms.
I have no problems with these people.
It's the name of the game.
It's part of the contest.
I come up with their names.
I apologize to them ahead of time.
But sorry your names came up.
Now, let's tell the houseguests the results so far.
Hi, everyone. It's Julie again.
Hello.
Hey.
George, just so you know, we are in the process of trying
to get a hold of Teresa.
But in the meantime, we've just watched
two of you in the red room make your nominations.
And tonight, we're going to keep all of you
posted on the vote tally as we go along.
But it's important that I let you know--
Oh god.
Great.
--that the order we play them on the show is not the order
that each of you went in.
That way, there's no way anyone in the house
knows who nominated who.
OK?
So here's how it stands as of now.
It's a four-way tie.
Brittany, Curtis, Jamie, and Karen, each of you
have one nomination.
But remember, we have yet to show what six--
six of you have had to say.
And I'll be back in a few minutes
to give you a further update on the nominations.
Eddie, Curtis, Jaime and Karen each have one.
Eddie, Curtis, Jamie--
oh.
[laughs] Karen-- who's Karen?
[laughter]
I mean, no, I know I did.
You know how we're doing that.
I know, because I'm always curious how many votes I have.
So what does that mean?
Nothing, just two people have done their nominations.
And they're just waiting for the--
They're not gonna give your names, did they?
No, they're not going to let us know who said what.
We won't know.
We'll just know the numbers.
This sucks. [laughter]
This is cool.
This is-- phat.
This is kind of interesting, because you kind of
figured out who voted for you.
This is phat.
I don't think you can figure it out.
You really can't.
Look at you.
You're like, yeah, you can.
Because Karen, remember, she said
it has nothing to do with the order
in which we went into the room. - I know.
I know. But it still gives you an idea.
Hm.
If it was the order, I would have voted myself.
That would've been cool.
Kind of takes a bubble out of a phone call too.
[laughs]
Don't you let it.
Don't you let it, George Don't even go there.
[groans] No, I won't.
[sighs]
I wonder if that means in all the previous shows
they would show every single person who nominated whom.
Yeah, that's my guess.
- You think they did? - And they'd have, you know--
I wouldn't think when it was they wouldn't.
There wouldn't be enough time.
I bet now since we're a smaller number.
It's more interesting to see who did what.
Yeah.
I'm sure--
But like, on "Survivor," they show the names--
Only enough.
--and then, yeah, and then the explanation.
They don't show everybody.
No, I think they show everybody.
You know, because that's why they
have you recap in the end--
Now, "Big Brother" not only affects
the people inside the house.
It touches the lives of their loved ones as well.
Our cameras were in Minneapolis as Brittany's friends
and family made her the toast of the town.
[cheering]
We're cheering Brittany on.
So everyone came out to support her and show
her how much we love her.
Well, it's interesting to see someone on national TV
that you might have had a beer with last week.
And now, you're seeing her on the big screen.
Hopefully, she can win the half mil
and come spend some down here.
I would never act like I like somebody, just
because somebody irritated me.
It just-- I just wouldn't do it.
I think Brittany's doing really well,
because she's very innocent and honest.
She speaks her mind, and she doesn't
let anybody roll over her.
It's funny to see how strangers
react to her when she's behaving the way
she normally would at home.
Say something, Brittany.
Go for it.
My favorite part was when she just
completely lost herself over the fact that the chicken was hurt.
Oh, God, don't.
Oh God.
I think when she confronted Jordan.
I just feel that you treat me like you're better than me.
My favorite Brittany moment on this show so far
is when she doesn't do her hair.
The key is to find yourself alone with Josh
and just keep everything in a group.
I mean, Josh seems like a nice guy.
And I could very much see her being friends with him.
But that's not the way her romance usually works.
So I can't imagine that she really
would be interested in him.
In her real life, they would not get together at all.
But I think he seems like a sensitive guy.
And I think that's probably what her attraction to him was.
If Josh came up to you and said,
I'm really attracted to you, how could you-- what would you say?
I'd go, oh my God.
Oh my God. Oh my God.
Oh my God. Oh my God.
Oh my God.
Oh my God.
Oh my God, we're on TV.
Oh my God.
Oh my God.
[chanting] Brittany. Brittany.
Brittany.
Brittany.
Brittany.
Brittany.
NARRATOR: Coming up, George's -second connection
with the outside world.
And later, the arrival of a new houseguest as this live edition
of "Big Brother" continues.
[cheering]
Welcome back.
We gave the houseguests a chance for one of them
to make a -second phone call to the outside world.
And together, they decided that George will be the one.
So let's see if he's ready.
Hey, everyone.
- Hey. - Hey.
What up?
George?
Yes?
Your time has come for your phone call.
Yeah.
All right, chicken man.
Now, remember, George-- hang on, hang on.
Remember, you only have seconds.
Do you know what you're going to say yet?
Have no idea.
JULIE: OK.
You're going to wing it?
OK.
JULIE: Well, I have to remind you that your call will be
disconnected after seconds.
Understand.
JULIE: And what I'm going to do is I'm going to give
you a -second warning.
OK.
JULIE: So go.
Go ahead into the red room.
And if you pick up the phone, we already
have Teresa on the line.
Your one minute starts.
Teresa!
Hi, George!
Just listen to me, OK?
OK.
I don't want to say I miss you.
I want you to know how much I think about you, George.
I want you to be reassured all the plans you made
for us are working perfectly.
And every night at : on the computer,
I watch to send a message, George.
And you know, don't ever think about leaving
the house, George.
Stay focused.
You've got to go the distance.
You've got to finish summer camp,
because Rockford and the whole country
supports you, George, and us.
If you doubt it, just pick up my card for coaching, OK?
And the kids love you.
They wish they could talk to you.
And you tell all the people in that house-- thank--
thank them for letting you talk to me.
George, we--
JULIE: -second warning.
--got T-shirts that says, keep George in the house.
Teresa, these people are so nice in here.
I know.
But George, Katie had a baby girl.
And it's named Lily Katherine.
She had it yest--
Aww.
[applause]
[crying]
[laughter]
[cheering]
George.
Wasn't very long, was it?
Complete rundown.
My niece had a baby girl.
Hey!
Oh gosh!
Congratulations.
Her name is Lily Katherine.
We-- I was able to catch that.
OK.
The town that I live in, I guess they're really supporting me.
Awesome.
They have t-shirts made up.
- Oh. - No.
What is it?
Keep George in the house or something like that?
Yeah.
OK.
Teresa's afraid that I'll really get homesick,
you know, because she knows how I am, you guys.
She really reinforced me to stay,
because she knows I'm a real wiener when it comes
to [laughs] I'm an extreme wiener when it
comes to being away from home.
So that's what she really tried to stress to me,
because Teresa can read my mind.
She knows-- she knows how I--
how exactly I am about staying and stuff like that.
But you guys, to hear a voice from the outside,
even though I didn't--
I may have said nothing, to hear a voice--
just a voice from the outside--
JULIE: Hey, George?
This is another voice on the outside.
- OK. - I have to ask you.
Are you glad you made the call, or is it
that much harder now to stay inside the house,
hearing Teresa's voice?
It's a lot easier to stay in here now,
because I have the reassurance of what
she told me over the telephone.
It makes being here a whole lot easier for me at this time--
I'm glad.
--to know that back home, I got people rooting for me.
And that's a tremendous feeling, OK?
JULIE: George?
Yes?
I'm glad that you had your moment.
And I'll be checking back with everyone in just a little bit,
OK?
OK.
But just to hear voice--
Now, let's continue the nomination process.
Let's hear from Curtis and Karen.
I nominate Josh.
And I'm only nominating Josh, because I guess I just--
it's his inconsistencies.
I've told him all along.
As far as what he says and then what he does,
I just feel like I--
he confuses me.
I nominate Cassandra, because I just don't
see her here in the long haul.
I like her.
I just-- just in the long run, I don't see
her as part of somebody that I would
want to be here in the final--
final four.
I first nominate Eddie.
This one was hard, because I really enjoy Eddie.
And I like him, and I'm getting to know him a lot better.
But I guess among other people, I still have
the least to talk to him about.
So that's the reason for Eddie.
I nominate Josh second.
That's hard because I really like Josh.
And I have fun, and he's a totally cool
got to hang out with.
But I don't quite get Josh.
And it's weird.
Because after four weeks, I would
think that I would have a better feeling
for him, his motivations, and what he's feeling
and what he's doing.
And yet I don't, which seems a little odd to me.
I also think Josh would handle being nominated pretty well.
I might be wrong.
In fact, if I can-- if he is nominated
and he handles it well, that would speak volumes.
Family type relation--
Houseguests, this is Julie.
We are halfway done with the nominations.
And here is the count so far.
Brittany, Curtis, Jamie, and Karen, you each
still have one nomination.
And now, Cassandra and Eddie, the two of you
also have one vote each.
And Josh, you've taken the lead with two.
I guess the lead at this point's not good, huh?
[laughter]
George, you're doing pretty well.
[laughter]
This is-- thanks, Cassandra.
Maybe I need to go around talking
about stuff like that I'm going to get booted out of the house.
[laughs]
This makes your heart just race.
My heart is in my throat right now as she announces all this.
It's all right. Just relax
Heart racing?
It does.
It's like in your throat.
Oh, like Nicorette?
[laughter]
Maybe-- maybe we could all use a little--
So here's where we now stand.
George is the only one with no nominations, at least for now.
But keep in mind, we still have four
more houseguests to hear from.
We'll be right back.
NARRATOR: Coming up next, the suitcase is packed,
and the new houseguest is here.
You'll meet her when "Big Brother" continues.
[cheering]
Welcome back.
There's been a lot of speculation
on the internet about the identity of the new houseguest.
Here to tell us what the chat is all about
is our America Online internet adviser, Regina Lewis.
Welcome back, Regina. - Thanks.
JULIE: Since we announced last week that a new houseguest
would be entering tonight, there's been a lot of chatter
on the message boards.
What's everyone saying?
Well, it's really amazing, Julie,
we're seeing message boards being posted
at a rate of one per second.
Everybody seems to have a theory about the new houseguest.
So we've pulled a few from the site.
First one, someone wrote, I think it's David Letterman.
A lot of people think--
They wish.
People think if Dave was in the house
he could figure out that Jordan thing once and for all.
Another person wrote, I bet it's Karen's husband.
After tonight, I'm voting for Teresa myself.
JULIE: OK.
Another person said, I bet it's
Puck from MTV's "The Real World,"
and that he'll bond with Jamie.
People want Jamie to bond with someone, anyone--
Puck, Eddie, they'll take it.
JULIE: In a romantic sense?
Oh, absolutely.
A lot of Jamie fans online.
Another person-- this was very interesting--
sparked a big online rumor said, I heard
it's someone from "Survivor."
Oh, they're saying that they heard
it's someone from "Survivor." - Right.
So a lot of people think Jenna is showing up tonight.
JULIE: Oh, no kidding.
Yeah, that one was all the rage online.
Another person said perhaps a pig,
drawing on the George Orwell, "Big Brother" "Animal Farm"
connection-- fairly thoughtful.
Someone else wrote, it has to be a rooster,
so the chickens can keep laying eggs.
Well, they'll find out if they are right momentarily,
because we are going to bring this new houseguest
into our studio.
But before we do that, here's a profile of her.
I'm a close friend of the newest "Big Brother" housemate.
She is the diva of all divas.
She's the goddess of divas.
One of her worst habits that's not
going to make her very popular is she has this gas problem.
And she refuses to stop eating the foods that cause it.
I've talked to her and talked to her.
It doesn't work.
She can clear a room.
My friend really loves fast food soft tacos.
Three soft tacos?
Thank you.
I don't mind when I'm driving around, stopping on occasion,
and getting some for here.
The newest houseguest is, I've got to tell you, a real dog.
Her name is Chiquita.
She's a approximately six-year-old pug.
And she's got a lot of attitude.
If the garden's in really good shape, knowing Chiquita,
she'll probably decide to dig up the really
nicest plants and flowers.
[dog whining]
Chiquita, your favorite snack.
She's really going to miss her fast food.
She is the fast food diva.
[dog snorting]
I think she's going to become the most popular
member of the household.
The biggest challenge is the houseguests
are going to have with Chiquita is that she's
not fully housebroken.
So they're going to have to really work with her
and keep an eye on her and make sure
that she minds her manners, or it's not going
to be very pleasant for them.
I think that when the show is over,
she is going to be the last one left.
Everybody is going to love her.
[cheering]
Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to Chiquita.
[applause]
[cheering]
Hi, Chiquita.
[applause]
Now, Chiquita was rescued by the Little Angels Pug
Rescue Shelter in Los Angeles.
And after her seven-week stay with her foster family
in the "Big Brother" house, she will be placed in a good home.
So Regina, now we have a new houseguest that
can take part in the polls.
Absolutely.
There we go.
We'll be running a poll about which
houseguest you think will be most affected
by the arrival of Chiquita.
And you can participate in the poll and the message boards
by going to the "Big Brother" site
on America Online at keyword "Big Brother",
and bigbrother.com.
And we'll have the results for you next week.
JULIE: OK.
Well, our stage manager, JC, is going
to take her to the red room so that she
can meet the other houseguests.
Thanks a lot, Regina.
Thank you.
And now, let's go back to the red room
and see who George and Josh nominated.
First, I nominate Curtis.
And the main reason I nominate him
is because I think he knows exactly what he wants
to do when he gets out of here.
He wants to proceed with his job as a lawyer.
And I think he'll be very successful doing that.
And that's the main reason I'm nominating him.
The second person I'm nominating is Karen.
Because I think that the house has actually
put a lot of stress on her as far as missing
her children and everything else.
And getting a few letters from her kids back home,
basically, really made her worry about things
that were going on back home.
And I think when people stop having fun
here, they shouldn't really be here.
I think that the point of being here is to have fun.
And I kind of worry about her sometimes.
The first person I'm going to nominate will be Cassandra,
just for-- the fact of it is I think sometimes she
feels embarrassed with what--
with what goes on in here.
My second nomination will be--
and this was really a tough one for me--
but I will nominate Josh.
With the romantic affairs that he has--
gone on in here--
the Jordan issue and the Brittany issue and stuff
like that.
This is too tough a place to have
something like that happen.
Hello, everyone. It's Julie.
Hi.
Hi, Julie.
Well, so far, we've heard from six houseguests.
We have two more people to hear from.
And here is the latest count.
Now, George, despite your fears about being marked
for banishment this week because you blew the weekly challenge,
the Jump Rope Challenge--
You didn't see that, did you, huh?
JULIE: We see everything.
You have no nominations yet.
Brittany, Eddie, and Jamie, the three of you
still have one nomination each.
Cassandra, Curtis, Karen, each of you has two.
And as for you, Josh, nearly half of your housemates
have nominated you for banishment.
You now have three nominations.
And I'll be back in a few minutes
to give you the final tally and let you know
who the final nominees are.
That's after how many?
Six out of eight.
Two to go.
Two more to go.
Nice wording, Julie, like a kick in the nuts.
Total kick in the nuts.
It's all right.
It's not bad.
A continual kick in the nuts at that.
Over.
Over.
I don't even have nuts, and I feel the kick.
I don't even know what she just
said, to be honest with you.
I have two.
You have two.
Is that right?
The three of you have two.
Three, two, one, one, one.
Brittany got one, and I got one.
OK, now, I really don't--
[laughter]
As you can see, there is a tight race going.
But remember, if there's a tie, more than two people
can be nominated.
We'll be right back.
So you have one, and you have none?
[cheering]
Welcome back.
Before we finish the nominations,
let's introduce the houseguests to Chiquita.
Hi, everyone. - Hello.
Hello.
Hi.
Do you guys remember last week when Jordan
was banished from the house we told
you don't dismantle her bed?
Yeah.
Yes.
JULIE: Well, there's a reason.
Tonight, we're bringing in a new houseguest.
OK.
Doesn't surprise me.
Nah.
Well, in fact, she is waiting in the red room right now.
And Karen, if you could do me the honors
and go to the red room to greet her, bring her out.
You look very puzzled.
And if you can can introduce her to everyone.
Oh, be a dog. Be a dog.
Be a dog.
- Oh, wouldn't that be sweet. - Open it up.
Open the door, please.
I'm on the edge of my seat.
Open it up.
What the hell could it be?
[inaudible]
What is it?
Oh, my god, Guys.
We got a puppy.
Oh my God.
No, we have a dog?
I love-- oh my God, I don't how to open it.
Hold on. I'll get it.
Hold on.
OK, I got it figured out.
Oh my God, come here, baby girl.
Oh.
Oh, Chiquita, is that your name?
Oh my God.
[cheering]
Yeah!
Rock 'n' roll.
Yeah!
Oh my God.
Hi, guy.
He likes Chicken George already.
[exclaiming]
[squealing]
All right.
You hear me?
Her name's Chiquita.
All right.
Look at-- [laughs]
You are so ugly, you're cute.
Oh, what an ugly dog.
You're even cuter than this.
You're gonna be a hit, baby.
Oh, my God.
I'm not sleeping in my bedroom.
Chiquita can sleep in the love bed with us.
Can you make beer?
Do you know that-- do you know that pugs snore?
Oh!
Well, everyone, what do you guys think?
Oh, sweetie.
All right.
Oh, oh, oh.
Put him down. Put him down.
Now, she does have a name, everyone.
Her name is Chiquita.
And there is more information about her
in the red room inside her own "Big Brother" suitcase.
So what does everyone think?
So excited.
[laughter]
JULIE: Oh, George.
Sweet baby.
JULIE: We want her to stay with us.
That's typical me.
[laughter]
Oh, oh, oh.
Oh, sweetie.
Oh my goodness.
That's hilarious.
JULIE: Well.
By show of hands--
by show of hands, who's happy about the latest houseguest?
We love it.
JULIE: Oh, everyone, unanimous.
Very good.
Well, we'll be back in a little bit.
Oh, oh.
Can I tell you guys this--
They're not even listening to me.
They're just talking to the dog.
So how does the introduction of a dog
change the dynamics inside the house?
Well, here to talk about it is our health and relationship
specialist, Dr. Drew Pinsky.
[applause]
How are you doing?
Very well, thanks.
You have a very strong opinion about this.
You think it's going to totally change the dynamics.
How?
Well, the important point, I think,
here is to understand that this is another relationship.
Although it's with an animal, it is another relationship.
And we have some caretakers we've talked about in there.
And we see them jumping to action already here.
Brittany and Karen are just dying to take care of this dog.
It's a source of reassurance, a source
of cuddling that they can get.
And I'll tell you what though, what happen
is that the people that do the most caretaking of the dog
may be sensing a sense of entitlement
that they should have special privileges with the dog.
And that could create envy.
It could create resentment.
There could be conflicts.
It's all the variables that go into bringing
a new relationship into the household.
JULIE: OK, we'll see if that happens.
Now, what about this new twist tonight
where we are now announcing how many people got
how many nominations, if any?
Yeah, you can see how it's affecting the household.
You can practically cut the tension in the room
with a knife right now.
They don't like it.
And I can't blame them for not liking it.
But it really shatters their complacency.
Because before, it was an all or nothing event.
It was I'm either voted out, or I'm not.
I'm OK otherwise.
And that really-- it shatters that complacency.
It lets them know that there are b*ll*ts flying
and that they're all at risk.
And it adds to the intrigue.
People will start wondering who it was that voted for them.
And it can significantly impair their ability
to trust one another.
We'll see.
Yes, we will.
Dr. Drew Pinsky, thank you so much.
Thank you.
As we know, nominations always add
to the tension in the house.
But don't forget, the houseguests also
know how to have a good time.
[laughs]
I actually had a busy day today, you guys.
Well, I'm tired.
I had a hard day.
[laughs]
I did lots of stuff today.
I kinda want to dance.
Hm?
I kinda want everyone to dance.
[music playing]
[singing] Ahh.
And that's a .
Superstar.
Superstar.
Now, let's check back in with the houseguests
and see how they're doing with Chiquita.
[laughter]
You're such a mess.
She just had-- she just had surgery.
Oh, really?
Yeah, nasal respiration problems.
So she won't snore?
Well, we'll see.
[laughs]
Because she snorts already.
Aww, hi, baby.
It doesn't matter.
OK, now, let me see what you've got here.
Some of this stuff has got to go in the refrigerator.
Oh, I'm so excited.
This is so cool.
Oh, Chiquita likes her pills hidden in cream cheese.
That's why.
Yeah, that's what I saw.
- Hi. - OK, OK.
It's OK. Yeah.
Yeah, she's so cool.
She's so funny.
OK, how cute is this?
She's hilarious.
- Here you go. - Hey.
Hey.
What's going on?
What's going on, Chiquita?
Oh, little dog.
Chiquita Banana.
Aww.
Psst, get him.
[laughter]
- Little doggy. - Hello.
Hello, little dog.
It's interesting how your emotions go
from extreme happiness, and then you
get whacked in the nominations.
Exactly.
Right?
This is the best thing.
Does he play?
Does she play? - Hi.
How are you doing?
I don't think she plays.
She's a dog.
[laughter]
She just seems to run around.
- That's what she does. - She's probably just--
Brittany, you've got something now
to keep you occupied at night. - I know.
Should we take her out to pee?
She's probably--
NARRATOR: Coming up next, the final nominations.
I feel like I have to--
I have to nominate--
NARRATOR: "Big Brother" returns in a moment.
[cheering]
Welcome back.
Time now to reveal the last red room nominations.
After we hear from Brittany and Jamie,
we'll know which houseguests are marked for banishment.
I nominate Karen.
Karen really, really misses her--
her kids.
I mean, she thinks about them all the time.
So since she misses her kids so much,
I decided that I would nominate her.
And I nominate Josh.
I think out of anyone in the house,
I've spent the least amount of time with him.
So I haven't really had a chance to get to know him as well as--
as I have everyone else here.
I'm going to nominate Cassandra.
She gives really good advice and stuff.
But I don't know--
I just probably don't interact with her as much as the
other people in the house.
And the other one I'm going to nominate is Josh.
And just-- I don't know.
I just wanted to apologize to him for nominating him.
So I just want to say I'm sorry for nominating you.
Like I have-- like, my emotion's one way and my mind one way.
And I want to use my mind.
And it's hard with him here to not think of my emotions.
And so it's just--
it's totally selfish.
It would just be easier for me, I guess.
I don't know.
I feel like it's the right thing to do.
How I feel like--
I don't know.
I feel like I have to.
I have to nominate Josh, so I'm nominating him.
Houseguests?
- OK. - Hi.
- Hi. - Hi.
We've now heard from all eight of you in the red room.
And here's the final tally.
George-- zero.
Brittany, Eddie, Jamie-- one a piece.
Curtis-- two.
Cassandra, Karen-- both of you have three nominations each.
And Josh, you have five.
So that means this week, three houseguests
are marked for banishment.
And they are Josh, Cassandra, and Karen.
And I'll be back next week to tell you
who the viewers have banished.
Wow.
Come here, chicken head dog.
Come on, baby.
Come on.
Chicken head.
There you go.
There you go.
[dog panting]
Hey, baby.
Hold on.
Anybody wanna take the dog out just in case she's got to go?
Because she's pretty excited. - She's overwhelmed.
- Yeah. - Come on.
She's already panting, so.
If she's got water, she'll be all right.
Let's go outside. Let's go outside.
I like the "Big Brother" thing.
That was pretty cool.
I want to follow the dog.
That dog is definitely a mess.
Well, thanks.
I wonder if she chews stuff.
Aww, look at how cute you are.
Wanna go outside?
Look.
Look what we got out here.
Wow.
Look at her little back legs.
Sweetie.
Uh-oh.
Oh, oh, oh, not in the pool.
Stay out of the pool, babe.
[laughs]
[laughter]
[applause]
Oh.
Yeah.
Aww.
[laughs] You just jump in right after her.
You're like--
You OK?
Oh, you've got to stay away from the pool, sweetie.
[laughs]
Aww, look at her.
Oh, cactus.
[cheering]
Welcome back.
The houseguests have spoken.
For the first time, three of them have
been marked for banishment--
Josh, Cassandra, and Karen.
And now, it's your turn.
You can vote for one of them to be banished from the "Big
Brother" compound.
Just call ---.
In Canada, call the number at the bottom of your screen.
Each call costs $..
Your vote will determine who leaves the house.
Next Wednesday, we'll have the results live.
That's it for now.
There's another edition of "Big Brother" tomorrow night.
I'm Julie Chen.
Goodnight.
She's cute, though.
Dog jumped in the pool.
Just like that?
She jumped in the pool, started
[bubble noises] Josh jumped in after her, pulled her out.
Oh my God.
She ain't that bright.
That's what she got thrown out of her old house.
sh**t, Eddie.
And they want us to put a cage around the pool.
How about we put a cage around her?
[laughs]
You know how they got those like children playpens?
Mm-hmm.
You know, six--
six octagon in feet.
Yep.
I think that'd be cool.
So we could walk around and--
[audio out]
I was going to--
gonna say something.
Hey, baby.
- What's wrong? - It's OK.
[laughter] - It's OK.
He sneezed.
Chiquita sneezed.
There you go, baby.
[shuffling cards]
That's the terrible thing.
I know exactly who voted for me, so it makes it even worse.
Because I know who did.
[shuffling cards]
Swift kick in the nuts, if I had them.
[shuffling cards]
Want to play a hand of Spades with the dummy hand?
Sure, I'd love it.
Thank you.
OK, let's play Spades.
I'm not playing Spades anymore.
[shuffling cards]
Hey, baby.
We've got to figure out something with the cactuses,
though.
Because she's going to go in there.
And that's going to be hell to try to get
the cactus pricks out of her.
Oh.
Hey, babe.
You guys, I'm allergic to dogs, which--
NARRATOR: America Online is CBS's internet partner.
You can get to the "Big Brother" website by logging
onto bigbrother.com or AOL keyword "Big Brother."
Yeah.
I'm surprised they--
Because I might have to take medicine the whole time I'm
here now, which makes me sleepy all the time and in a bad mood.
OK.
So actually, if I snap--
I'm surprised they would bring a dog.
Why-- - I know.
Well, did you--
