02x01 - Scavengers/Tar Troubles

Post by bunniefuu »

Find time to get caught in the middle of

a hunter's fight. Gosh, how are we

going to get out of here?

They've

come to eat the loser. This might be our

chance. to fight the scavengers. We

can sneak out of here while they fight.

Amber, I'm scared. I don't

like scavengers. I know,

Shyler, but I promise, we'll make it out.

Yay!

Shh! Are you going to give us away or

what?Amber. Yeah, I

figured you two would be in trouble.

Amber has a habit of always running into

hunters when she goes off on her own. I

do not. Remember the Long Claws at

Flat Rock Canyon, huhThe sharp-toothed

and fern forest, huhRemember, huhOkay,

okay, you made your point. But how are

you gonna get us out of here?I thought

you'd never ask. Ta-da!

A hollow hog to

safety! Good idea, Fluffin!

No big deal. He saw it from the air.

The scavengers are back. They're over the

next ridge. Oh, no. They not

eat scat. Scat too small to be

scavenger dinner.

We have to keep a watch out, day and

night. Aw, flap. Weren't you kind of

exaggerating?After all,

scavengers don't attack living dinosaurs.

Uh-uh. I know 'em. They'll attack

anything. I think you're just scared,

like scat. Scat?Scat's a

coward! Hey, watch mouth! Scat likes

coward! You'll see. I'll prove you wrong,

Dink, and you'll all thank me for saving

Green Meadow! What's he gonna do?I

don't know, but I hope it doesn't get him

into trouble. What do they know?I'll

show 'em.

Yikes!Scavenger! They

found me. I'm doomed, forsaken, worse...

lunch mates.

They're not after me. Oh, that poor

dinosaur's hurt. Those scavengers are

gonna get him. Dink and the others have

to believe me now.

Four against one. I'm gonna need help.

This guy really needs my help. You guys

ready?We're ready. Do your stuff,

Flap. Okay, here it goes!

It worked. Oh gosh, oh

golly. Of course it worked. My plants

always work.

They were all around. I'm sure there's

hundreds nesting in the mountains.

If it wasn't for you,Might be food for a

lot of little hatchling scavengers. Well,

you're welcome to stay in Green Meadow,

Fleetfoot. Yeah, plenty good food

here you like. I'll stay the

night until my foot is better, but

tomorrow I'm headed back to the forest,

away from those... things.

I know how he feels. Amber, if

there's hundreds of scavengers around,

will we be okay?Don't worry, little

buddy. Lopper will keep a steady watch

tonight.

Hey! Get off of me! Help! Help It's

scavenger attack! Come quick!

Wait, what? You were lucky this time,

Skywing.

It was Fleetfoot. He attacked me. What?

Fleetfoot?The dinosaur you told me

about?Yeah, but he's not a

hunter. Maybe he only hunts

winged ones. Winged ones?That's

crazy. No, it's not.

Some dinosaurs hunt flyers, like

Flapperhead, or even scavengers. They

raid their nests at night while they

sleep. Oh gosh, oh golly!

You mean he wanted to eat Flapper?

He's probably here to raid the scavenger

nests. Oh no! Those

scavengers will be sleeping and won't

know he's coming, will they? We've got to

stop him. I'm on it. You guys try to

slow him down. That'll buy me time to

warn the scavengers. Phew! Yeah!

I'll lure them to Fleetfoot so they can

drive them off our valley once and forall!

I can't believe I'm doing this!

Flying right into their nests!

Wake up! Wake up!

Hi! Anybody game for breakfast?

Try and catch me!

Shh! I think he's over there. There

he is. And there's the mountains! He's

picking good time. Gosh, Dink, what are

we gonna do?The only thing that will slow

him down is if he sees a bird. That's a

great idea, Amber! It is?What is?

If Fleet Foot wants a bird, we'll give

him a bird.

Uh oh, why do Scat have bad

feeling about this?

Oh, why Scat always get picked for

these things?Okay, Scat, make

like a scavenger and get Fleet Foot's

attention. What if he try and eat

Scat?Don't worry, we've set a trap.

Hope trap worked for Scat's sake. Squat!

Squat!

Squat! Get out of sight!

Hatchling, he won't get away from

me.

They're gaining!

He's getting loose! Oh, gosh. We

need Flapper, now! Yahoo!

Attack! Flapper, are you okay?Never felt

better. Skywing,

you're mine! Uh-uh,

I don't think so!

Why don't you look up first?

There they go. Well, I guess the

scavengers realized Fleetfoot was a

bigger danger to them than we are. Yep,

I had it planned that way all along.

Scatman, good fryer. Oh, nice hunting.

Hey, what's that?

Scavenger! Quick, dig out the shot!

Run for your line!

What got into flapper?Nothing,

he's still just mud all flat.

Well, let's go get him before he makes a

fool of himself.

Scat?

Ooh, Shiloh ripe. Lots of sweet

work. Oh, golly. These will taste real

good, Scat. Let's take a bunch hunky

dinner.

Scat

hungry?Oh, gosh, Scat. If you eat them

all now, then you won't have any to eat

tonight. Scott, not worried. Lots of

sweet root here.

Oh, no! Scare! Stop eating!

Oh, gobby! All the sweet roots are

covered with tar. We'd better get help!

Why, I'm fine, Scat. How are you?

Speak up, Scat. I can't understand you.

Look, Crusty. The sweet boots are all

covered with tar.

HmmAnd I'll bet Scatty here

couldn't keep this sweet root out of his

mouth.

I knew his appetite would get him into

trouble someday. What happened?

We were picking sweet roots when all this

time came out of Tar Pit Pass.

Oh, don't worry, Shyler. I remember

this happening once before. I'd advise

you to just leave it alone. Let nature

take its course, and in a few days,

everything will return to normal.

Don't worry, scat. I know how to take

care of you. Come on, scat.

Why don't we go see what that tar looks

like?Good idea. Come on.

Good burst of geyser water will clean you

right up. Don't worry, scat. This won't

hurt a bit.

Maybe that wasn't such a good idea.

Wow, this is worse than I thought.

Probably worse than Crusty thought. See

how this last pool overflows into the

marsh? If we could plug up this pool, it

would stop the leak. But, But Crusty said

we should just leave everything alone and

it would go away. Well, he didn't see

this, Schuyler. So, what are we gonna

do?I think I see the answer to

our problem.

See?We just push the solar rock down the

slope and it'll plug that tarpole up.

Come on!

Oh, no! We didn't plug it up. We broke it

open!

And the boulder's making a path to the

tar right into Crusty's pond!

We gotta stop the tar before it gets into

the pond! We'll have to block off the

string somehow.

Here it comes!

Quick, Shyler, climb to the top of the

tree while we push. Your weight will help

topple it over. They

should dam up the stream and stop the

tower. Out

of way.

Well, that seems to have stopped the tar.

Uh, no, Lily! Huh

Look! Oh, no! The

tree is hollow. The tar's going through

it. Great. Any other ideas?Oh,

gosh! It's flowing all over green meadow.

I got an idea. Good, we could use one.

We're gonna dig a new path for that tar

to follow.

It's working! We can drain the tar into

this hole.

That takes care of that. Hey, Dink, do

you think it's a good idea to put the tar

in there?Sure, one... 'Cause

it's a geyser hole!

This stuff is getting

all over my wings. And all over the

meadow. How to plug this hole up fast.

Somebody get some rocks over here. Do you

see rocks, Stink?No, Shyler, those

rocks are too small. Flapper, I need a

big rock in this hole right now.

Thanks, Flapper. It wasn't

me! It's a meteor shower!

Take over!

Hey! Rock shower over! Scott

okay!

Oh,

no! Scott not okay

yet! Look! The tar's on fire! But

that's great! The fire will burn up the

tar!No, Dig, but we'll burn up Green

Meadow first. Oh, no, it's heading Corset

Mist. Things just keep

getting worse.

We'll never be able to carry all these

babies off before the fire gets here.

Then we'll dig another fire brick from

here to that ravine. Quick, put the

hotswings back and I'll be good.

He's catching up to us.

Just a few more feet in. We're back!Well,

the halflings are safe. Yeah, but we're

not. I'm getting tired of running from

this tar. Maybe we should have listened

to us. Too late! This tar's

running back with this tar pit fast!

Quick, up the log! It's our only chance!

The tar really goes out with a bang. What

happened, Dink?Is everything all right?

I don't know. We've been running in

circles. Yeah, Dink, so has the tar.

Okay, so I didn't say it was a perfect

plan.

Look! It can't capacify!

And it has us surrounded! But if we stay

here, we'll burn up! What else can happen?

Gotcha! Uh, you can stop swimming now,

Scat.

Scat's safe, but where everyone else?

Well, there's Schyler and Dink and Amber.

I think this time it's really over.

Yeah, and we did stop the tar. Sort

of. Sort

of?Now what did I tell you, youngins?

Why, uh, uh.. You

told us to leave the tar alone.

Right. So what did you do?

You set half the valley on fire.

Gee, Crusty, the time is really bad.

Bad?Look at the valley.

Look what you've done. They were

just trying to help, Crusty. They didn't

mean to cause trouble. Oh, you're

right, Shia. I know you kids meant well.

Hey, Crusty! Need some help getting all

that mud off?Oh, no. Disaster! Hmm

I am pretty dirty. There's this geyser,

see?And I know just the perfect way to

put a shine on that old shell.
