it had been a busy day for little snuffy

and as the warm sun set over terrytown

hurried to get home oh my

am i late oh now it's starting to get

dark

and i really don't like the dark

snuffy was so anxious to get home that

at first he didn't notice anything

unusual

but soon he saw that there was something

keeping him

company on his trip home and this

something

was following right behind it

jj tracy it's following me it's

following me

what's following you snuffy that big fig

in the sky

see all i see is the moon

the watch the moon you mean to tell me

you've never

noticed the moon before no i i i guess i

never did

what is the moon well it's a big round

thing

floating in outer space we can see it

the best at night

but why is it following me oh

snuffy it's not following you uh-huh

it is no matter where i go there it is

just watch come on so snuffy let his

friends

all around the terrytown airport first

they went to oscar's

see what barn mean and after seeing the

moon from

several places at the airport snuffy jj

and tracy

ended up at brenda blue's workshop

see there it is again no matter where we

go

the boat is following us gee

you're right yeah i never really noticed

that before

we can't have that moon following us

every night

what are we gonna do i know maybe we can

just

wish it away wish it away

sure we can all wish really hard for it

to go away and if we wish hard enough

maybe our wish will come true

okay everybody we have to close our eyes

and then wish really hard ready

okay now let's open our eyes and see if

it worked yay

it worked the bird isn't following us

anymore

it's gone boy my glad

that's over me too

now let's go inside and get some sleep

so uh what are you looking at up there

oh hi oscar i just wanted to make sure

that the moon was gone

why on earth do you want the moon to be

gone

because it was following me and i didn't

want it to

you didn't want it to of course you

wanted to

i do oh sure the moon is your friend

plus everybody's friend you should be

really happy that it likes to follow you

why oh i'm glad you asked me that snuffy

the moon is a big happy night light

it keeps things lit up when the sun goes

to bed

without the moon the night would be

really dark

just like it is now

you're right it is dark oh yep

oh mr moon up there he's the best friend

we have at night

well good night snuffy sweet dreams

but now snuffy wasn't sure he was going

to have a good night

or sweet dreams he didn't like being in

the dark

now he wanted the moon back

[Music]

that night snuffy had tried hard to get

to sleep

but he kept worrying about how he missed

the moon's bright light

he finally fell asleep until

[Music]

is that you it wasn't jj or

tracy so snuffy decided to look around

outside then snuffy

realized the voice he heard was coming

from the sky

above so he took off to find it

gosh that voice is coming from

outer space

wow i've never been to outer space

before

finally snuffy realized that the sound

he was hearing was coming from

the moon but it was not the bright moon

that he was used to

it was now a very dark moon

it sounds like that voice is coming from

inside the moon

wow this is pretty

[Music]

excuse me sir why are you so sad

why am i so sad i'll tell you why i'm so

sad you see i'm the man in the mood

wow yeah well it's my job to keep

everything lit up on earth at night

so that all the little kids will be able

to see in the dark and not be afraid

but somebody made a wish that turned out

the moonlight

now the man of the moon has nothing to

do and the earth will be way too

dark

do you like the dark uh-uh not me

yeah of course not nobody likes the dark

oh what am i gonna do

oh my movies well

uh mr man of the mood yes

i have something to tell you um

well it's like this i made the wish that

turned out the moonlight

you did yes but i'm real sorry

i thought the moon was following me i

wasn't thinking of all the good

things the moonlight does i do anything

to turn the moon right back on

you would

what's so funny what's so funny what's

so funny

why this is extraordinarily good look it

just so

happens that the only person who can

unwish something

is the person who wished it in the first

place

to turn the moonlight back on all you

have to do

is sing a happy song wishing that the

moon would follow you again

that would do it hey i could do that
