And lots of wild animals live there!

Like lions, rhinos, hippos,

zebras, gazelles, giraffes, and elephants!

The African savanna is home to many animals who love to graze,

by eating from the grass and trees!

Which animal on the savanna would you like to see?

African savannas are known for being covered in tall...

Right! They're covered in grass that animals like to eat.

And the African savanna also has lots of spread out...

Trees!

Yup! Tall animals like giraffes

like to eat leaves from the trees!

Savannas are wild!

We help animals in the wild!

And drive around the savanna in our big rig!

That's a truck.

Once upon a time...

On the African savanna,

it was Ranger Zooli's job to make sure all the animals

in the wild were okay.

And today was a big day for her.

(distant honking)

Because Ranger Goby was bringing her an animal

who really needed the rangers' help!

What do you got for me today, Ranger Goby?

Hi, Ranger Zooli!

I have someone for you to meet.

Come on, Eli!

Don't be afraid...

(Zooli): Aww, he's just a baby!

Yup. A big baby.

I found Eli all alone on the savanna.

I think he needs our help finding his mom.

Don't worry, Eli. We'll find your mom soon.

(trumpets) (both laugh)

Let's see if your mom is over at the watering hole.

Elephants love to take baths!

Huh. I don't see his mom anywhere.

Ah, refreshing.

(both laugh)

Let's check over by the acacia trees.

Elephants like to scratch their backs against the tree trunks.

(Molly): The Rangers kept looking for Eli's mom.

But they didn't know that someone else

was watching little Eli.

A hyena named Spotty Cackles...

(laughs) That's me!

Maybe your mom is grazing on the grass over here!

Come on, Eli...

Eli?

- Where'd you go? - Eli?

I've got Eli now, whoo!

(trumpets)

Let's go, boy!

I've got a big surprise, just for you!

That hyena's always causing trouble!

(Molly): So, the Wildlife Rangers set off

to rescue Eli the elephant and bring him home to his mom!

Don't worry!

He won't get far as long as I'm driving!

(Molly): The Rangers had almost caught up to Spotty the hyena,

but now he was driving straight toward a river!

I just love takin' a dip!

That's one tricked-out truck!

(laughs) Woo!

We lost 'em!

How're we gonna cross this river?

It's too deep.

(nearby roar)

Do lions live in the savanna?

Yes?

(both scream)

Yup, we're friendly.

Are you trying to cross the river?

We've got to rescue a baby elephant

and get him home to his mom!

Well, the water's too deep to cross here.

Animals on the savanna cross the river at a special place,

where the water is shallow.

That means the bottom of the river

comes up close to the top.

It's around here somewhere.

But we're gonna need your help to find it.

We need to cross the river at a spot where it's safe

for animals to walk.

Which one of these is shallow

and easier for animals to cross?

Right there!

Yes! That's where animals like zebras,

gazelles and giraffes cross the river!

(trumpets)

Eh, don't you worry.

They ain't never gonna get us now.

(distant honking)

C'mon, Eli, we gotta get outta here

(laughs)

I don't know, but it sure is getting bumpy!

(Zooli): Maybe this rhino button can help!

(Spotty): Now those are some big ol' tires!

Don't worry, lil' fella! I'm not gonna let 'em catch us!

They'll never be able to keep up

with my big rig's super speed!

had finally caught up to Eli and Spotty

on the edge of a cliff!

I didn't take him!

I was just tryin' to bring him back to his Mama, which I did!

(trumpets)

Yup.

I saw Eli was all alone out there,

and I knew where to find his Mama!

Told you I had a big surprise fer you.

Spotty Cackles always keeps his word.

Well, that was nice of you, Spotty.

But helping lost animals get home

is a job for Rangers, like us!

(Zooli): If you really like to help animals,

why don't you come be a Ranger?

(Molly): And so, Eli the elephant

was returned to his mom.

And they were watched over by Rangers Zooli and Goby,

and even Spotty the hyena,

who became a Wildlife Ranger too!

And they all lived happily ever after.
