Like snowboarding,

These are for skiing, another winter sport.

There are lots of them!

And lots of winter sports competitions, too!

A competition is when people try to be the best at something.

Like racing the fastest or jumping the highest.

I want to be an athlete who snowboards!

I want to be a ski-jumping athlete!

I'd be an athlete who ice dances!

There are so many winter sports you can do!

Winter sports are cool!

Gil and Bubble Puppy were excited to compete

in the big winter competition on cold, snowy Mt. Brrr!

Nonny and I are reporting to you live

from the Winter Sports Chompetition!

We call it a Chomp-etition because it's a competition

with athletes and their dogs.

That's right, Nonny!

We have six teams competing.

But only the winning team will take home the gold medal!

And it looks like our athletes are arriving now!

I hope we do okay in today's competition.

Don't worry, we all just try to do our best.

And I bet you two will be great.

The most important thing is having fun!

(giggles) We're really good at that!

(barks) (giggle)

(Coldsnap): Woohoo!

(Zooli) And here come our returning champions...

(Zooli): Coldsnap and his dog, Mr. Husky!

(Zooli): They really know their winter sports!

(Nonny): That's why they've never lost a Chompetition yet.

Ooh yeah, we're gonna win the gold!

(all cheer)

(airhorn)

C'mon, boy! It's about to start.

(barks)

(Zooli): Our first event in the Chompetition is figure skating!

(Nonny): The athletes are heading over to the ice rink

and getting ready to compete.

Who will skate to victory?

I've always wanted to skate on a giant ice rink, Bubble Puppy.

- (barks) - (both laugh)

Huh?

Where'd you go, boy?

I'm just gonna put this butter on the Guppies' skates

and then they'll slip and slide all over the ice.

Then we'll win the first event!

A-yuh! A-yuh!

(barks)

(Molly): The first event of the Chompetition,

figure skating, was about to begin.

Tell us what we can expect, Nonny!

Each team must skate a number on the ice to win this event.

So their blades need to be sharp.

Just a few more skates to butter!

Their skates'll be so slippery,

no one else will be able to skate a number , except us!

Wha! Uh! Hey, get back here!

(barks)

Oh, you got our skates. Thanks, Bubble Puppy!

(air horn)

Okay, let's start the event!

First up are Gil and Bubble Puppy.

We just have to skate the right shape...

And that wraps up our ice skating event.

Only four of the teams finished their Figure s.

So only they will be moving on to the next event.

Today's second Chompetition event is the bobsled!

A bobsled is a special sled

that races on a track made of ice.

These sleds need to be real strong and sturdy

to carry each team all the way down to the bottom of the track!

A-yuh!

Now none of the Guppies' bobsleds will work right!

That gold medal will soon be ow!

C'mon, we can't let anyone see us cheating...

(barks)

Don't worry, boy, we'll do great.

Bobsleds are lots of fun!

(Zooli): And they're off!

(Zooli):Molly and her Collie are pulling ahead!

Okay, folks. It all comes down to this last event,

with only two teams competing in the Dogsled Race.

Both teams will have to sled through Avalanche Canyon,

then race back here to cross the finish line!

An avalanche is when a lot of snow falls down a mountainside.

Things could get tricky!

Whoever gets through first wins the Chompetition

and the gold medal!

Good luck, Coldsnap and Mr. Husky!

(laughs)

Coldsnap and Mr. Husky sure look confident out there, folks.

coming out of Avalanche Canyon first.

(Zooli): Zooli and Nonny here, reporting from the finish line.

Coldsnap and Mr. Husky are in the lead,

and we have yet to see Gil and Bubble Puppy.

(barks)

If we dig a big hole, we can fit through it!

I think they're going back to help.

(Zooli): That avalanche was close!

But looks like everyone's okay, folks!
