the story of billy the giraffe

[Music]

billy the giraffe is tall and thin

as tall as a house

from toes to chin what's it like

said the young bear it must be scary to

be way up there

don't be silly who said that

it's good to be tall it's quite a loud

[Music]

what do you mean acquired the wrath it

can't be

funny to look like that oh but you see

replied tall billy when i look down

you all look silly take that back

growl the ape you made me choke on a

seedless grape

you're all just jealous for you're down

there

life is like that it's just not fair

the friends agreed they'd heard enough

they all

stomped off in a herded huff

snorted billy he didn't care he just

raised his nose

higher in the air he wandered around

and sniffed tall flowers he walked alone

for hours and hours

as time passed by down went the sun

before billy knew it the day was done

far from home he missed his tea so

he rolled up tight beneath the tree

the following morning fenced and aching

philly awoke and shaking

he wished he had a nice warm coat for

now he'd caught a very

sore throat an elephant sneeze

he's almost as big a hippo with

toothache can be quite sad

but there's nothing worse and you must

not laugh

than a throat that soar on a tall

giraffe

when billy got home sorry and sad

a hacking cop he certainly had

he bought a jar of medicinal brew but

holding a spoon was

hard to do his mouth was up high

his hoof slowed down he couldn't reach

which made him frown

it's then he remembered the friends he

had

he apologized for being so bad

oh that's all right his friends all said

quick let's get you tucked up in bed

they made him a drink hot milk and honey

which

soothed his throat and warmed his tummy

they nursed him well until he was better

they even made him a woolly sweater

billy was grateful so he told them all

i'll stop showing off about being tall

you ran to my help even though i was

rude

you made me better so i've changed my

mood

from that day on billy did change now in

the jungle

you'll see something strange a tall

giraffe

strolling along his pals on his head all

singing a song it's great up here

said ape and bear for us to be tall

is really quite rare so

there's still a giraffe who's tall and

thin

as tall as a house from toes to chin

and though his friends are all quite

small

with a little help they're all walking
