♫ Bottle Top Bill
♫ And his best friend, Corky
♫ Up on the hill
♫ Let's watch them as they play
♫ Playing all day
♫ Hooray
- [Bill] The Adventures of Bottle Top Bill.
- [Corky] And his best friend, Corky.
♫ Bottle Top Bill
- [Corky] Is it time for an adventure, Bill?
- [Bill] Yep, just as soon as we wake up, Corky.
- [Corky] Then I hope we wake up soon.
- [Bill] We will.
- [Corky] What's the adventure called?
- [Bill] It's called The Drip.
(snoring)
(alarm bell ringing) (Bill groaning)
(snoring)
(Corky groaning)
- [Corky] Bill, wake up.
- What a beautiful morning.
Morning, Corky.
- Morning, Bill.
- My new alarm system is working well.
- Sure is, Bill.
Maybe a little too well.
- [Bill] Let's go and clean up.
- [Corky] In our new bathroom.
- [Bill] I think our new bath looks terrific.
- [Corky] And I think our new sink looks terrific, too.
- It all looks terrific.
I'm ready for a bath, Corky.
- Me too, Bill.
- [Bill] On with the cold tap.
- [Corky] And on with the hot tap.
- I'll go first.
- But Bill, you always have the first bath.
- That can't be right, Corky.
I don't always have the first bath.
- Yes, you do, Bill, and when I come to have a bath,
sometimes there's not enough hot water.
- Alright, if you want to have the first bath so much,
Corky, then have the first bath.
- No, Bill, if you want to have the first bath,
then you have the first bath.
- No, no, I'm going to have breakfast.
- I'm going to have breakfast, too.
(suspenseful music)
- [Bill] Now let's go down to the kitchen.
Boy, am I hungry.
- [Corky] Crunchy chocolate flakes.
- [Bill] My favorite, mm-mm.
- I had the cereal first, Bill.
- But Corky, you always have the first bowl of cereal.
- No, Bill, I don't always have the first bowl of cereal.
- Yes, you do, Corky, and when I have my bowl of cereal,
sometimes there's not enough left.
- If you really want the first bowl of cereal,
then you have it, Bill.
- No, Corky, if you really want the first bowl of cereal,
then you have it.
(water plunking)
What was that noise, Corky?
- What noise?
- There it is again.
- You're right, Bill.
- It's raining, Corky.
- Raining inside, that's odd.
- Very odd, Corky.
What shall we do?
- I've got an idea.
- An umbrella!
- Just the ticket for when it rains, Bill.
- But Corky, my feet are getting wet.
- [Corky] And my tail's getting wet, too.
- And so is the floor.
What are we going to do, Corky?
- There must be a hole in the roof.
Let's check outside.
This could be very serious.
- [Bill] That's funny.
- [Corky] They sky is blue.
- And it's not raining.
- Then where is the water coming from?
- There must be a puddle on the roof.
- And a hole in the roof to let the water through.
- [Bill] We need a ladder.
- A big ladder.
Up you go, Bill.
- But Corky, I always climb up on the roof first.
- You don't always climb up on the roof first, Bill.
- Yes, I do, Corky.
- Okay, then, I'll climb up first if it makes you happy.
- It does make me happy, Corky.
- [Corky] Up we go.
What's that, Bill?
- [Bill] A machine to help us solve the problem.
- [Corky] Great.
- [Bill] I'll bring my special hole fixer.
- How does it work, Bill?
- It finds holes and mends them.
Here I come.
We'll fix this problem in no time.
Here we go, Corky.
Oh, no!
- Bill, what's it doing?
- My machine has gone mad.
- It's not mending holes, it's making holes.
- It won't stop, what should I do?
- Push the lever the other way.
- Good thinking, Corky.
That's done the trick. (machine whirring)
- What does that noise mean, Bill?
- Sounds like we found the hole we were after.
- That's not a hole in the roof.
That's the chimney hole.
- [Bill] Oh, help!
- [Corky] Bill, come back.
- [Bill] I can't, Corky.
(Bill moaning)
Oof.
- What happened, Bill?
- The machine patched up the fireplace, Corky.
- And the water is still coming through.
- [Bill] The whole floor's getting flooded.
- [Corky] We have to do something.
- [Bill] What can we do?
There's too much water.
- That bottle gives me an idea.
- We need ideas, Corky.
- If we use the cork from the bottle.
- We can plug up the ceiling.
- Spot on, Bill.
I can't reach.
- I'll climb up on your shoulders, Corky.
- But Bill, you're always climbing on my shoulders.
- I'm not always climbing on your shoulders.
- You are, Bill.
- Okay, then, Corky, you climb up on my shoulders,
if that makes you happy.
- It does make me happy, Bill.
- [Bill] Steady.
- Keep moving, Bill.
A little more, a little more, a little more.
Not that way, the other way.
Get ready and stop.
That's done it.
- Top job, Corky.
Uh-oh, I don't like the look of that.
- Me, neither.
Get out of the way.
(Bill groans) (Bill and Corky splash)
- Real action's needed now, Corky.
- I know something that will help.
A funnel, and a saucepan, and a jug.
- I get the idea, Corky.
We'll just add a big cup and a hose pipe.
- We've done it, Bill.
- This'll fix it.
That was hard work, Corky.
- It sure was, Bill.
- [Bill] Oh, no, what's happening now?
Do you see that?
- [Corky] I do, Bill, two ducks.
Wait a minute, I can see something else happening, too.
- [Bill] You're right, Corky.
It's a fish.
- [Corky] Three fish, Bill.
- That's weird.
I've never seen fish outside our window before.
- Or ducks, either.
- [Mrs. Whistlehead] Bill, Corky!
- [Corky] That sounds like Mrs. Whistlehead.
- Bottle Top Bill, Corky!
- It is Mrs. Whistlehead.
- Look what you've done to my sheep!
(bleating)
- Don't worry, Mrs. Whistlehead, we'll fix it.
(gulps) I hope.
The whole place is flooded, Corky.
- [Corky] What are we going to do, Bill?
- I think we need help.
- [Corky] I can see something under the water, Bill.
- [Bill] What is it?
- [Corky] It looks like a submarine.
- [Bill] A submarine?
- [Corky] Maybe it'll come here and help rescue us.
- [Bill] Do you think so?
- [Corky] Let's have a look to see who's inside it.
Maybe it's someone we know.
- I've never seen this person before.
I don't think he's going to help us.
Can't you think of an idea, Corky?
- [Corky] I'm fresh out of ideas, Bill.
- [Bill] Who are you?
- I'm Peter the plumber,
ready to fix all your water problems.
- [Corky] Boy, do we need you.
Please come in.
- Thanks for coming, Peter.
We've got all this water coming in,
and we can't stop it.
- Right, where is your bathroom?
- [Corky] The bathroom?
- Can't you have a bath later?
- I don't want a bath.
I want to fix the leaking.
- Oh.
- Follow me.
This way, please.
(upbeat music)
The bathroom's just up here.
- Are you sure you want to go there?
- Definitely.
Right, action stations.
(upbeat music)
Hold on to that very tightly.
(upbeat music)
Ready, set, go.
- [Corky] Wow, look at all that water!
- [Bill] And it's all come from our bathroom.
- [Corky] I don't understand what's happened, Bill.
- Look, Corky, the bath taps are running.
- Bill, you left the taps on.
- No, Corky, you left the taps on.
- [Both] We both left the taps on!
- Not to worry, I'll have this fixed in a jiffy.
- [Corky] Off with the hot tap.
- [Bill] And off with the cold tap.
- [Corky] Now, out with the plug.
(water gurgling)
It's all gone, Bill.
- Fantastic, Peter.
- [Corky] And look, Bill, the water's going down
outside our house, too.
- You beauty!
Thanks, Peter.
- You fixed our water problem well and truly.
- And this is for you.
- Great, what is it?
- My bill.
(Bill gulps)
- Here's your money.
Sorry, it's a little wet.
- My card, for any other plumbing problems.
- [Bill] Look, the fish are going back
to their proper home in the pond.
- I'm glad about that.
This all happened because we had an argument
and forgot to turn off the taps, Bill.
- Corky, let's never argue again
about who has the first bath.
- Or the first bowl of cereal.
- Or who climbs the roof first.
- Or who gets up on whose shoulders.
- Corky, you're the best friend anyone could ever have.
- No, Bill, you're the best friend anyone could ever have.
- No, Corky, you are.
- No, you are.
- Corky, are we arguing again?
- We should never have arguments ever again, Bill.
- When you're right, Corky, you're right.
♫ Bottle Top Bill
What do you think we should do today, Corky?
- [Corky] Let's watch television, Bill.
- [Bill] That's a great idea.
- [Corky] I wonder what's on?
- [Bill] There's a new show and it's called That's Magic.
- Fantastic.
I love magic tricks.
- I hope there's some good ones.
- [Corky] Who's this, Bill?
- [Bill] It's Marvel the magician.
He's supposed to be one of the best magicians
in the whole world.
- [Corky] What's he going to do?
- [Bill] Just watch, Corky.
- Abracadabra.
- [Bill] Flowers.
- Wow, that's fantastic.
- Look, he's doing another trick.
He's got a glass.
- [Corky] And a piece of paper.
- [Bill] Now what?
- Abracadabra.
- [Bill] Look, there's water!
It's not spilling.
- What a great trick.
I wonder how he does it?
- It looks really easy.
Let's try it.
- Uh, I don't know, Bill, do you think we should?
- Of course we should, Corky.
Come on.
All we need is a glass of water and a piece of paper.
Right, Corky, you get some paper,
and I'll fill the glass with water.
This should be a cinch.
- Here's the paper, Bill.
- Okay, let's do some magic.
Ready, Corky?
- Are you sure this will work, Bill?
- You just watch, abracadabra!
- I don't think it worked, Bill.
- The magician made it look so easy.
- The magician had a magic hat, Bill.
Maybe we need one, too.
- Top thinking, Corky, and I know just the place
to get a magic hat.
- [Corky] Are we going to the shops, Bill?
- [Bill] We are, Corky.
We're going to Harry the Hatter's to buy a magic hat.
- [Corky] Are you sure Harry sells magic hats?
- [Bill] Harry sells every sort of hat you could ever want.
I'm sure he'll have a magic hat.
- [Corky] There are lots of hats, alright.
- [Bill] Lots and lots of hats, Corky.
- But how do we know which hat's a magic hat, Bill?
- That's easy, we'll just ask Harry.
Harry knows everything about hats.
- Everything?
- You bet, Harry's a real hat expert.
- Where is Harry?
- Huh, maybe he's gone out to lunch.
- Hello, Bill, hello, Corky.
Can I help you?
- Hello, Harry, we're looking for a special hat.
- A very special hat.
- I've got every hat you could possibly want.
What are you after?
- We'd like a magic hat.
- A magic hat?
- Do you have one?
- Too right, I've got a perfect magic hat.
- See, Corky, I told you Harry would have a magic hat.
- Here you are, the best magic hat you'll ever see.
- This isn't a hat.
- Give it a tap, Bill.
- Crikey, that's exactly what we're looking for.
- Be careful with this hat, though, Bill.
- Why, Harry?
- Magic hats can cause trouble if they're not used properly.
- Don't worry, Harry, we'll use it properly.
- [Corky] Thank you, Harry.
- I do hope they'll be alright.
- [Bill] This is fantastic, Corky.
We can do some real magic now.
- [Corky] Right.
- What do we do first, Corky?
- I think you have to say some magic words, Bill.
- Abracadabra!
Nothing.
- Try again.
- Alakazam!
Still nothing.
- Maybe this isn't a real magic hat at all.
- But Harry promised us it was.
- What should be do?
- I don't know, Corky.
- [Dandy] Hello.
- Who can that be?
- [Dandy] Anyone home?
- It sounds like Dandy the fairy.
What's Dandy doing here?
- We'll have to go and find out.
Hello, Dandy.
What brings you here?
- Hello, Bill, hello, Corky.
I've brought you some more fairy dust for your flowers.
- That's great, Dandy, thanks.
- Dandy, you know about magic.
Can you help us?
- [Dandy] How?
- We bought this special magic hat,
but we can't make it work.
- It needs lots of practice to make magic.
- We'll practice, we just need some help.
- Well, you could some use some fairy dust.
- Really?
- But you must use it carefully.
- We will, Dandy.
- Just sprinkle a pinch of this into the hat.
- Fantastic.
- Thanks, Dandy.
- Remember now, just a pinch.
- No worries, Dandy.
(upbeat music)
How much is a pinch, Corky?
- I'm not sure, Bill.
- Is this a pinch?
- [Corky] It looks a lot.
- Let's try it.
That should do it.
Abracadabra!
That's not much.
- Look!
- Wow!
- Do it again, Bill.
- Alakazam!
- What's that?
- [Bill] I don't know.
How's that, a rabbit!
- Brilliant, Bill.
- There's something else in there.
- What do you think that is?
- [Bill] Beats me.
- A bunch of bananas.
You're getting good at this, Bill, keep going.
- Alakazam.
- A little car.
Bill, you're great.
- I'm not doing anything, Corky, the hat is.
Abracadabra.
Look at this, a clock.
- Maybe you'd better stop now, Bill.
The kitchen's getting a bit crowded.
- I think you're right, Corky.
Now let's find somewhere to put these things.
- Uh, Bill.
- What is it, Corky?
- Look.
What's happening?
- [Bill] More magic, that's what's happening.
- [Corky] What is it?
- [Bill] Looks like a sheep.
(sheep bleats)
- [Corky] Look, Bill, there's more.
- [Bill] This is getting out of control.
- [Corky] What is it this time?
- [Bill] It looks like a dog.
- [Corky] It is a dog.
- [Bill] Whoa, there's animals everywhere.
- [Corky] They're taking over the yard.
- What are we going to do, Corky?
The hat won't stop.
- Take it outside, Bill.
- Good thinking, Corky.
Come on, hat.
- [Corky] Hurry, Bill.
(suspenseful music)
- [Bill] That should do it.
- It's not wobbling anymore.
- I think we stopped it, Corky.
- Great work, Bill.
(animal screeching)
Do you hear something, Bill?
- I do, Corky, and I think it's coming from the hat.
- [Corky] I don't like the look of this.
- [Bill] Me neither.
- [Corky] What do you think it is?
- [Bill] I'm too scared to look.
- Oh, no!
- [Bill] It's an elephant.
- [Corky] It's coming here.
- Whoa!
- Bill, hold on tight!
- I am, whoa.
Oh, no, not my vegetable patch.
(elephant roaring)
Corky, you have to do something.
- What can I do, Bill?
- [Bill] Anything, just do it quickly.
- I've got an idea, Bill.
- [Bill] Don't leave me for long, Corky.
Help, Corky, help.
- [Corky] It's okay, Bill, I'm back again.
- This is no time for a snack, Corky.
- It's not for me, Bill, it's for the elephant.
Here, Mrs. Elephant, a lovely bunch of bananas for you.
Slide down her trunk, Bill, now!
- Oh!
Thanks, Corky.
But what can we do about that hat?
- Turn it over and sit on it, Bill.
- What?
- It's the only way.
- [Bill] Here I go.
- [Corky] Good work, Bill.
- I don't know how long I can stay on, Corky.
- You have to stay on, Bill.
Otherwise, our whole home will be ruined.
(elephant roaring)
- Go and find Dandy, hurry.
Run, Corky.
- Dandy!
Hello, Dandy, Dandy!
- [Dandy] Corky, what are you doing here?
- Bill, magic hat, elephant.
- This sounds serious.
Take me to Bill, Corky.
- [Corky] We have to hurry.
- [Bill] Oh, uh!
- [Corky] Hang on, Bill.
- Corky, where are you?
- [Dandy] We're here, Bill.
- Oh, Dandy, thank goodness you're here.
- How much fairy dust did you put in that hat, Bill?
- Just a pinch.
- How big a pinch?
- Oh, about a handful-sized pinch.
- A handful?
That's not a pinch, that's , pinches.
- I'm sorry, Dandy, I didn't know.
Please make it stop.
(groaning)
- A bit of this, a bit of that,
now it's time to stop the hat.
- Hooray, the hat has stopped.
You can come down now, Bill.
- [Bill] Whoa!
- [Corky] Poor Bill.
- Are you alright, Bill?
- I, I think so, Dandy.
- What do we do about all this junk?
- Leave it to me, stand back.
A bit of this, a bit of that, time to get back into the hat.
- [Corky] And here come the animals, too.
- [Bill] Watch out for the elephant!
- What about our poor garden?
- [Dandy] Watch.
- [Corky] Dandy's using more fairy dust.
- It's all fixed, that's better.
- Gee, Dandy, how can we ever thank you?
- In future, if I say a pinch,
you'll know how much a pinch is, right?
- [Bill and Corky] Right.
- Good, now I'm off home to finish my nap, bye!
- Bye, Dandy!
- And thanks again for your help.
- Boy, what a day.
- Next time, let's leave the magic to the fairies, Bill.
- (laughs) When you're right, Corky, you're right.
