We have a harsh life to live here,

Well, at low tide the pool is almost dry.

Too hot!

CRAB: We got predators from the air...

CRAB: At high tide, the waves come in and make it hard to hold on!

(Yelping)

Only the strong survive and adapt here in the tide pool.

We've got a little water in here now,

but about two hours ago,

our pool was almost completely dry.

We tide pool creatures can only go so long without water,

so we tough it out 'til the water gets here.

How do you do that?

We get out of the sun.

and keep the moisture in.

when the pool is mostly empty,

by going inside our shells or hiding in moist places.

It gets harder at low tide, but we're used to it.

See, the waves bring in fresh food right to our doorstep!
