04x10 - Misplaced Redemption

[bunniefuu]

Captain Xiao,

here are the documents

he submitted when he came
to request the joint investigation.

How the hell did we

let some unknown guy
fool us for this long?

Looks like he altered his old ID.

You'd only notice after a close check.
He's no longer in the investigation team.

Have you reached him?

The number he left is off now.

Xia Fei!

Why are you here?

Because he's been watching you.

Blondie, get her!

Slam me!

Don't hold back!

That's way too hard!

The control is broken!

Oh no!

Thanks to your dramatic acting,
it distracted her.

Let her go!
- I knew you couldn't be trusted, Blondie!

Stop!

Useless.

If the target isn't in your sight,

your power won't work!

Oh, right.

And you.

Give back my sister's power!

Why doesn't it work on you?!

Because

I'm here.

Cheng Xiaoshi, Cheng Xiaoshi,

mom's calling you home for dinner!

Cheng Xiaoshi!

I remember the case file said
the incident happened around 7 p.m.

So it won't be long now.

But I can't see any motive for m*rder.

Damn, where did he go?

Strange.

He just vanished.

Where is he?

Lu Guang, still no luck.

Maybe your ability needs
to be triggered in a special way.

Let's try some different
passwords or gestures.

It feels like I’ve stepped
into the photograph.

What?

In the photo?

Yes. What's more,

I seem to have become
the person who took this photo!

The photo represents the past,

which means...

I can change the past!

Does it mean we can
find your real parents,

and you can get rid
of that wicked foster father!

Find a picture of yourself
as a kid and bring it tomorrow!

Same time as always?

Yeah, see ya!

Gotta go home.

What's going on?

Lu Guang and I knew each other this early?

Why can't I recall any of this?

What’s up?

Slow down.

Watch out.
- Be careful.

Interesting.

It seems you can foresee my next move.

I'm getting more and more
curious about your power.

The third alley on the south side...

Let her go.

Stop struggling.

Your power has been
completely undone by me.

Nonsense!

I don't believe you!

Still just a kid.

Never listens to what adults say.

Why are you here?

Why expose your identity ahead of time?

Because she found you first.

Who are you?

Found her!

Why is he here too?

Didn't expect you'd bring me here.

Fine, everyone’s on the stage now.

Felix.

What's wrong with him?

He's fine.

Oh?

So your power isn't
as impressive as it looks.

Get lost.

Don't get in my way.

Li Tianchen, you can't leave!

You again, sick cat.

So annoying.

I've suffered a lot over the years
just to take you down, big rat.

Watch yourself.

A sick cat bites like
a tiger when it's angry!

I'm calling the police.

But how much longer can
this Bridon officer hold on?

He's powerful.

He may win.

How do you know?

You and Cheng Xiaoshi asked me

if I could see the future through
a photo right after taking it.

I can't predict that far ahead,

but I found another way.

Slow the shutter and make the photo

take longer to develop.

Then I can glimpse the future
from the long-exposure photo.

What?!

That's incredible!

So... Lu Guang knew me back then.

But why has he never mentioned it?

Just as I thought,
he's been hiding something.

Cheng Xiaoshi.

Where am I going?

What a coincidence.

I need a hand over here.

Uncle Liu, why are you at the scrapyard?

Hey, an antique I used to
collect was thrown out as trash

by an elderly family member.

After searching around,

I think a scrap collector might have
picked it up and brought it here.

Help me look for it, will you?

Isn’t this guy my dad’s friend…?

Uncle Liu, what does
that antique look like?

Do you know Tang Sancai?

It’s shaped like a horse,

and at first glance,
it looks like a porcelain toy.

Of course I know Tang Sancai!

Oh, right—

if my parents ask why
I got home so late later,

you’ve got to vouch for me!

OK.

There's a complete model kit here!

What kind soul would
leave such a treasure here!

Tell me, did you see that stuff?

I, I don't know...

You shouldn't have watched us in the park.

Since you saw it,

I can't let you live.

Xiao Shi!

Liu Qiang, what are you doing!

Your son saw what he wasn't supposed to.

Now I'll have to silence both of you!

Dad!

Xiao Shi.

Liu Qiang, are you alive?

We k*lled him.

We k*lled him.

We k*lled him.

No. No no no,
you didn’t push him. I did.

I k*lled someone.

Will we be locked up?

I don't wanna leave you.

What about Mom...

No, it's not your fault.

Dad didn't protect you.

It's Dad's fault!

Xiao Shi, from now on,
forget all of this.

Forget what happened today...

And forget me,

your unworthy father.

Could it be...

my dad also has superpower?

And the reason why I have no
memories of my childhood or him...

is because he erased them?

Who's there?

So that's it.

To protect me from the
haunting memory of k*lling,

he chose to erase all of this.

That's why I forgot Lu Guang.

And...

Cheng Xiaoshi, is that you?

And

I also forgot our promise.

I’m such an idiot.

A moron. A complete fool!

Why didn't I realize it
the first time we met?

He's been waiting for me!

I'm busy.

What’s up?

The police should be there soon.

Pull back for now.

She's of no use anymore.

Fine,

I'll spare you for now.

Wait!
- Qiao Ling, let him go.

We're no match for him.

And

we've found who we came for.

Take care of him.

We can't call the police.

Why not?

That was self-defense!

The only witness is Xiaoshi.

But I erased all his memories.

I'd rather he think of me
as an irresponsible father

than let him carry that childhood trauma.

Besides,

there has to be a reason why
Liu Qiang suddenly attacked Xiaoshi.

If I turn myself in,

you and Xiaoshi might
still get dragged into it.

So I’d rather take all the blame myself

and let them come after me
than put you in danger.

I’m going to Bridon.

Bridon?!

Why Bridon?

Because

there is...
- Who are you?

Why are you sneaking around here?!

Is Xia Fei really okay?

He's not dead.

My power is to put someone
in a death-like state for 12 hours,

but it only works once per person.

So after 12 hours,
Xia Fei will wake up naturally?

So that's how he came back from the dead.

Captain Xiao, just now...

Is Cheng Xiaoshi with you?

No. What's wrong with him?

I don't know either.
He just vanished.
