01x09 - Who's Who

Post by bunniefuu »

My name is Marshall Teller.

I knew my new hometown
was going to be different

from where I grew up
in New Jersey,

but this is ridiculous.

Nobody believes me,
but Eerie, Indiana,

is the center of weirdness
for the entire planet.

[CAWING]

Item, Elvis lives
on my paper route.

Thank you,
little paperboy.

Item, Bigfoot eats
out of my trash.

Item, even man's best friend
is weird.

Still don't believe me?
You will.

[THEME MUSIC PLAYING]

[KIDS LAUGHING]

MARSHALL: The World O' Stuff
was overrun by barbarians.

Little barbarians.

If you gave these guys
an island and no parents,

they'd be Lord of the Flies.

[SCREAMS]

It was
every customer for himself.

Luckily I was just
there to use the phone.

My bike had disappeared
moments before and

I was calling my Mom
for a ride home.

Yeah Mom, hey!

Yeah, guess what?

Radford, what's
going on here?

Have you heard
of the expression,

"You break it,
you buy it?"

Yeah.

These guys are buying
everything in the store.

[MOE BOB LAUGHING]

MARSHALL: Hey, you?

Who, me?

Yes, you.

What'd you think you're
doing down there? Leave
that girl alone.

Yeah! Boo!

[NATIVE INDIAN YELL]

Thanks.

Who do these Tasmanian Devils
think they are anyway?

My brothers.

SARA: Moe Bob,

Lou Bob

and Bob Bob.

[GROWLS]

What's your name?

[MUMBLES]

What?

[AGGRESSIVELY]
Sara Bob. My name is Sara Bob.

Okay, take it easy.

Oh, my name is Marshall.
That's Simon.

Hi.

[YELLING]

Who's in charge here?
Where's your mom?

She's...

She's traveling, yeah.

She's traveling
around the world.

Oh, really?

I couldn't help but overhear
your bike's missing?

Yeah.

How many speeds?

One.

It's a cruiser.

You really know
how to draw.

No, I don't.
I'm terrible.

That's it, all right.

But my bike doesn't have
a flag like that.

No, I mean...

I like the flag too.
It's really great.

Keep it.

You know, I think
you're an artist.

A real one.

An artist?

Me?

You really think so?

No question about it.

Only you didn't sign it.

Artists always
sign their stuff.

Gimme.

Hey, that's my
last pencil.

Hey, Radford,

you got a pencil?

All I have left is this
Eerie number two pencil.

Sold.

You still think
I'm an artist?

Only you can prove it.

Sign your sketch.

SARA: Sara Bob.

Sara Bob changed
when she signed her drawing.

By signing her name,
she acquired some new
power to be herself.

And that wasn't the
only new power she acquired.

[HONKING]

Thanks.

Gotta go. That's my Mom.

Your Mom?

Yeah. See ya.

Mom...

Hey, look.

That's not your bike.

What's that flag
doing on it?

When we saw my bike
parked out front,

my mind was flooded.

Unanswered questions
were playing tiddlywinks
with my grey matter.

It looked like my bike,
it felt like my bike...

I thought you said
the bike was stolen.

Ugh, yeah.

MARSHALL: I don't know...

Well, I want you
to get home.

You have some chores
waiting for you, young man.

Okay, Mom.

Hi.

Hi.

Bye...

Mom?

Simon and I
booked back to my house

with the bike and
Sara Bob's drawing.

As usual, something
weird was going on.

Maybe if we examined my bike,

we'd get my answers.

Uh-oh.

Unfortunately, Mom and
Dad had other ideas.

I know,
I know,
I know.

Marshall, I thought
we had an agreement.

We did, but I just
haven't had time--

Look son, you've had
nothing but excuses

for five Saturdays.

Now the agreement was that

you would paint the
garage door today

before you went anywhere
or did anything else.

We're on the verge
of being disappointed
with you, sweetheart.

I'll do it in a minute,
only, look...

Marshall, end of sentence.

Now, go change your clothes
and get to work.

Note to myself,

never make a deal
with your parents
without a lawyer.

[DOOR CLOSES]
[FOOTSTEPS]

Hey, Mom?
Hmm?

What'd you
think of my drawing?

Uh, well...
I'm not quite sure.

Is it upside down?

Abstract?

[SIGHS]

Autobiographical?

Thanks a lot for the
encouragement, Mom.

[EDGAR CHUCKLES]

Careful honey.
She's liable to
cut off her ear.

I'm teasing, Syndi.

You just draw
what you feel.

[SYNDI SIGHS]

You feeling okay?

Marshall, what'd you
think of my drawing?

Good, except it's
upside down.

[KNOCK ON DOOR]

Which one of you
is Marshall Teller?

He is.

He's Marshall Teller.
That's him.

Are you Marshall Teller?

Two L's, as in la-llamas?

Who wants to know?

According to our records,

you bought a
serial number JH772347

at Kneival Bike shop,
in New Jersey

at 2:12 pm,

on October the 10th, 1986.

You peddle on average

have a mole on your
upper left arm.

Is that correct?

Yes.

How'd you know all that?

We have our methods.

If you'll follow me
to the squad car,

I have something for you.

Looks like my
bike, all right.

Where'd you find it?

"To serve and control."

That's our motto.

That's what we do.

Hey, aren't you at least
going to rough him up?

Maybe later, Ma'am.

Geez.

[CAR ENGINE STARTS]

Wow spelled backwards is wow.

Yeah.

Two bikes.

What's going on?

We gotta talk
to Sara Bob.

BOY 1: Let me have it!

BOY 2: It's mine!

BOY 1: Ow.
BOY 2: Give it back!

[GLASS BREAKS]

BOY 1: No, I want it.

[COMMOTION ENSUES]

SARA: You might as well
forget knocking.

No one will hear you?

Hi.

Hi.

What're you doing up there?

Waiting for my
family to miss me.

You may have a long wait.

Tell me about it.

But, I don't mind.

I don't mind anything
as long as I'm sketching.

Speaking of sketching,

you see that bike?

Uh-huh.

Don't you see
something odd here?

They're similar?

Real similar.

Coincidence is one thing.

But this thing with
the bike was bordering
on the mega-strange.

I had to find out
what it meant.

Don't you think it
looks like your drawing?

I don't know.

I just drew what
you told me to.

Hmm.

Do you have other drawings
we could see?

Sure. I have lots.

They're in my room.

BOY 1: Hey, pipsqueak. Gimme.

BOY 2: I had that first.

BOY 1: Ah, watch your step.

BOY 3: I'm hungry.

Got any money?

I hated the lunch you made.

Where's my shoes?

Did you sew
my shirt yet?

This ain't
The Partridge Family.

What's for supper?

What's for dessert?

You met my brothers already.

Marshall Teller,

meet my Dad, Bob.

[BELCHES]

BOTH: Hello, Mr. Bob.

[BELCHES]

He's shy meeting new people.

Come on,
let's go.

Why do you'll have the
same middle name, Bob?

I mean, did your parents
run out of idea?

Couldn't they have at least
given you a girl version of Bob,

like Bobarella?

Yeah, I would like
a name of my own.

MARSHALL: Sound's good to me.

SIMON: Look at
all those drawings.

You sleep in the
laundry room?

I've got a lot of
sketches here.

Who's that?
Your Mom?

SARA: No.

My Mom left
when I was little.

I don't even know
what she looks like.

That drawing
reminds me of somebody.

Oh, it's...
It's nothing.

It's nobody you know.

So, what would you like
that you don't have?

A motorcycle.

MARSHALL: I don't need
anything really.

Maybe someone to paint my
garage door before my
parents ground me for life.

Who's that?

That's my family.

MARSHALL: Wait a minute.

This picture is
of those jerks?

I don't draw things
the way they are.

I draw things the way
I wish they were.

You must do a
lot of wishing.

I never really thought
about my drawings much.

My brothers always
teased me about it.

My dad says it's
a waste of time.

Your bicycle sketch is the
first one I ever signed.

Remember to fold my
underwear this time.

Nice guy.

I hate all Bobs.

I'm sick of doing
all the work around here.

I'm not going to
wash his clothes.

I don't care if he has
to go around naked.

[BOB BOB SCREAMS]

BOB BOB: Help! Help!

Somebody!

[SCREAMING]

BOB: Bob Bob, what do you
think you're doing?

You can't run around
out front like that!

We were seeing way more
of Bob Bob than I think
any of us wanted to.

Major bizzaro.

How'd you do that?

All I did different was...

Sign it with that
Eerie pencil you gave me.

Hmm?

SARA: I'm an artist.

I can never thank you enough.

You showed me I'm
an artist, a real one.

BOB: Sara Bob, you get
some clothes up here

for your naked
brother right now!

And tell your
friends to get home!

He means it.

You better go.

Listen to me,

this is important.

Whatever you do,

do not draw any
pictures till I get back.

Sure. Anything you say.

Suddenly I couldn't
shake this

am I Dr. Frankenstein creating
a monster type feeling.

I was torn.

I had to paint the garage.

But I was also worried about
leaving Sara Bob alone
with her new found power.

I had no idea
what she would draw next.

Or who.

It's tough to battle
the forces of weirdness

when you're under 18
and your parents can
still boss you around.

Somebody should keep
an eye on Sara Bob.

But first...

EDGAR: Marshall!

Marshall...

Unbelievable.

Holy corn.

My sentiments exactly.

I'm... I'm... I'm glad that
you finally painted the garage.

But this, uh, isn't exactly
what your mother and I had
in mind when we asked you

to paint the garage door.

I'm really glad
you like it.

I look great.

Don't I look great?

Now, I don't want to

stifle your creativity

but this...
This is...

EDGAR: Unacceptable.

I would like
you to paint

over it, son,

before your
mother sees it.

That is, if your artistic
sensibilities wouldn't
be compromised too much.

I don't get it.

He is not the
artist in this family.

I am.

If you wanted the
garage painted,

I could have painted
me on a unicorn.

I mean, at least that
would have been pretty.

Mom's not here?

No, no.

She was here
a while ago,
Humpf.

but she seems to have
disappeared suddenly.

It was weird.

One second she was there,
the next...

That's when the
Dr. Sara Bob

Frankenstein feeling
really kicked in.

Only she could've done this.

What else was she drawing?

And where was Mom?

Mars?

I just figured out
who the pictures on

Sara Bob's walls are of.

Your Mom.

Holy smokes,
you're right.

We gotta get to
Sara Bob's house.

Mom may be in danger.

It's too quiet.

I don't hear the
pitter-patter of
little monsters, Simon.

Bad sign.

Well, hello there, little men.

You must be here
to see my

lovely, wonderful, thoughtful,
charming and talented

only daughter.

BOTH: Whatever.

Is Sara Bob
at home, Sir?

Call me Bob.

Uh...

Nice dress.

Thanks. I drew it.

How'd you like
your garage?

Funny you should ask.

It's too cool.

[IMITATES MOTORCYCLE]

The souffle's
almost ready.

We need to talk.

I seem to have
misplaced my mom.

You wouldn't happen to know
anything about that, would you?

What'd you mean?

You signed the picture of
the perfect family, didn't you?

Maybe I did.

Maybe I didn't.

SIMON: What's with
the part favors.

We're getting ready for my
Mom's welcome home party.

Your Mom's back?

Where is she?

She's around.

Pedicure?

No.

If you drew your
fantasy family,

then what happened to your...

To your real family?

Never mind where
they are, Marshall.

I just want to enjoy
my new family.

Oh, angel, sister
of my dreams,

here you go.

Our mother's
favorite blossoms.

Don't you just
love my family?

Family?

What family?

This isn't a real family.

I have a real family.

Real families

aren't perfect like this.

Real families
fight and make up.

Real families don't
just take care of you.

You take care
of each other.

Buzz off.

I love you too.

May I brush your teeth?

SIMON: Beat it.

Hey, those are my
private drawings.

Ah, yes.

This is it. This
is the one here.

Fantasy family sketch, huh?

They're my creations.

They're exactly what
I always wanted.

Don't touch it, Marshall.

Be careful.
Oh, please.

No, don't rip it.
They're going to...

Disappear.

Mars!

I found out where she
put her real family.

Holy tornado!

MARSHALL: You... You...

You put your family
in the fish tank?

Why not? They deserved it.

She's got a
point there, Mars.

MARSHALL: But it's
just not right.

You gotta let them out.

If I do, everything will be
back the way it was before.

Have you ever tried
telling them how you feel?

Try to stand up
for yourself.

We'll back you up.

Promise.

I hope this isn't some
new age peaceful thing

that will backfire on me.

They're back.

Back from what, dipwad?

I'm starved!

What's for supper?

There's a souffle
in the oven.

Who is this
little rut?

Where are my shoes?

BOB BOB: Did you
sew my shirt yet?

I hated the
lunch you made.

Got any money?

Do it now.
Tell 'em.

Shut up!

I'm tired of
being your sl*ve.

I'm your daughter.

And I'm your sister.

But I'm not your mother.

I'm Sara Bob.

No...

I'm an artist and I
want my own name.

From now on, you can
all call me Sara Sue.

What's for dinner?

LOU: I'm starved!

You wanted 'em back.
You deal with them.

I'm gonna go
see my Mom!

[BELCHES]

Mom?

Wait!

It's locked.

Sara Bob?

I mean, Sara Sue.

Go away. We're not here.

BOTH: We're?

One.

Two.

BOTH: Three.

SARA: Mom?

Do you think I can get
the new dress I saw in
the window yesterday?

I don't see why not.

You look so
beautiful in blue.

Mom?
Hmm?

I love you.

I love you too, angel.

MARSHALL: I didn't know
what to do.

I was happy for her.

But she had my Mom.

MARSHALL: Sara Bob?

Sara Bob, that's
not your Mom.

She's my Mom.
I want her back.

But I drew her.

She's mine now.

Draw a picture of
your own Mom.

That's just it.

I'm not sure.

Even if I
did draw her,

I don't know if
she would want me.

But I need my Mom.

I know, Marshall.

I only wanted her
for a little while.

Bye, Marshall.

Thanks for everything.

What'd you mean?
Where are you going?

The last we saw
of Sara Sue,

she was on her way to
Paris with her own Mom.

Nobody has a perfect family
or a perfect life,

but now Sara Sue had the
power to be herself

and the courage to imagine
a better future.

She really was an artist.

Can't we leave it up
for a little while?

Some people just don't
understand art.

For the two hardest
working boys in Eerie.

Later.

Thanks anyway.

Welcome back.

Sara Sue sent us a
sketch from Paris.

But...

What was it?

Attention!

Hit the deck!

Nobody,

I mean nobody eats
till this place is spotless.

Do you'll understand that?

Come on, move it!

Move!

Pick it up.

LOU: I don't want
to pick it up!
