First things first,

I am in Las Vegas right now.

So when he calls,
I try to sound jet lagged.

When he video calls,
I hide under this blanket

because the sun
shouldn't be shining

at 2:00 a.m. in Scotland.

This is the hardest thing I've
ever done because I've never

lied to my dad before ever.

You have to understand,
my dad and I are super close.

We hang out together.

We talk magic late at night.

And Teller is like
an uncle to me.

When I was a baby,
he built my crib.

Last week, he thought
he was helping me

practice magic for a show
that I'm not even doing.

It's all a ruse.

So in a way, I've already fooled

Penn and Teller,
but sadly not in a way

that'll get me a trophy,
but it'll be worth it.

When I step out on that stage,

my dad is going
to lose his mind.

I can't wait to see
the look on his face.

two months in the working.

Especially these last two weeks,

I've had to turn
my location off.

I had to lie to him during
video calls and voice calls.

He was really pissed when I
told him my camera was broken,

have to pay for it.

My gosh.

I want to ask you what it
was like sort of growing up.

I mean, was it
a series of magic tricks?

- I watched a woman get
cut in half when I was six.

how do you process that?

- How do you deal with that?

- You don't.

somewhere deep inside you.

advice going into this show?

- I would never

To become a good magician,

I had to be
a good student again.

But studying was not enough.

I needed to perform a lot.

I set a goal to do
100 charity shows in one year,

mainly for old people.

If I can get this

my choosing magic as a career.

But they can see
I'm getting an audience.

Now my dad even helps me
build some illusions.

I guess I have passed
their test too.

Balancing family life with a
career in magic is difficult.

I feel super blessed to have
such a supportive family.

I get asked most often

is why did I become a magician?

To be honest, I don't know.

But every once in a while,
I get a hint as to the answer.

Like the first time I did
magic for my daughter Sarah,

she was just four years old.

So I used cookies, obviously.

It was an epic performance,
if I do say so myself.

Taking something delicious.

And turning it
into something magical.

But the cookie didn't
just disappear.

It went up my sleeve across
my shirt down my pant leg

and ended up...

inside my shoe.

Brooke, souvenir?

- Sure.

- No one should eat that.

- But Sarah loved it.

There were cookies for her
and soda for me.

I know what you're thinking.

That can't be a

And that's what my
daughter thought.

But it is.

magic for my daughter that day

was a memory we shared together.

Because the older I get,
the more I realize

that moments like
that can be pretty fleeting.

Sometimes, you've just got
to stop and take it all in.

Because you can't
go back in time.

on Penn and Teller's stage.

It's incredible to perform
for an audience of this size.

And I'm going to remember it
for the rest of my life.
