Last time... Arriba!

It's a party.
For her fiesta outfit...
I just think it's great.
...Heather finally got her flowers.
We absolutely loved it.
Well done.
Tim's ribbons...
That sadly does not look right.

But it was Lewis...
I'm really throwing this together.

Firm handshakes all round,

You can do something completely
out of your comfort zone

That's incredible.
...it's sports week.
Oh, God.
The sewers dive right in

It has big drama.
And whose attempt...
No.

Nightmare.

Sending lots of love.
Week five, it's sports week.
I used to love the egg
and spoon race.
I think actually that's maybe one
of the only sports at school
that I was quite good at,
the egg and spoon race.
In we go.
I'm not remotely sporty.
I love sewing because I can do it
at home sat down.
That's why it's my favourite hobby.
I like making funky tops, especially
if you're doing a marathon,
because then your family can spot
you in that pink leopard print

This whole experience is a marathon.
We've got to keep that in mind
and enjoy the journey.
Welcome back, my heroic hem-turners.
Please come forward.

I hope so, because this week is

We have.

I'm sorry you've been
through that too.
But Esme,
she's very sporty, aren't you?
Yeah. Oh, yeah. Very.
The way she can knock back
a tequila,
honestly, that's a sport in itself.
What have you got for us?
Here we go. Pass them round.
Wowee.
We're giving you a pair of men's
swimming shorts.
It's got elasticated waist,
pockets and a mesh lining.
You'll find swim short suitable
fabric in the haberdashery.
Mesh, cord,
elastics are on the cutting table.
You've got three hours
and 45 minutes.
Your time starts now.
To keep afloat in the competition...
Oh, these are fun.
...the sewers must promptly
choose their fabric...
Shall I just go for the dinosaurs?
I'll go for the dinos.
...mesh lining...
Oh, it's very bright.
...and cord.
Oh, I want that.
I want that, definitely.
I've got sharks.
I used to have a phobia of sharks.
And when I first saw it, I could
feel my heart rate like going up
a bit, but I'm like purposefully
moving past it.
So, what are you asking
the sewers to do?
Well, we've asked them to make
a pair of men's swimming shorts.
They've got to do a hem
and it has to be really neat.
Also, the pocket bags
are made from mesh.
It could be tricky to sew.
They've got elastic that's
folded into the waistband. Yeah.
And we've got a pair of pants,
so that elastic needs to be
neatly sewn in just to keep the
pants nice and snug on the inside.
Right. Imagine if it wasn't there.
Freedom.
Keeps it compact.
Yeah, nice little tidy pouch, yeah.
Lovely.
Yeah.
So, we're going green.
I feel like my boyfriend would
wear these swim shorts.
Funnily enough, we co-ordinate to
whatever bikini
I'm wearing that day.
I'm quite excited.
So, I do like in the wild swimming.
I do it all year round.
I might give these to one
of my friends who swims naked.
Maybe then he would wear something.
I'm always scared that the fish'll
have a little bite of his worm.
To make the swim shorts, first
the facings are attached to the
mesh pocket bags, which are then
stitched to the leg pieces.
Then the front and back legs
are joined at the side seams,
the crotch is sewn
and inside leg is stitched.
For the mesh lining,
the front pieces are sewn together
and stitched to the back.
A loop of elastic is attached
to each leg opening.
Two holes are made in the waistband.
Then it's stitched to the shorts
along with the mesh lining.
Elastic is threaded through
the waist before the shorts
are turned right side out
and hemmed.
Finally, the drawstring is added
to complete the swimming shorts.
Good morning. Good morning.
Have you ever made
shorts like this before?
No, being a l*sbian

it's the best thing in the world,
and then everyone freezes.
I always had the whistle
blown at me.
"Sophie Willan!"
Anyway, sorry, Mr Barton.
We're going in on the mesh.
It's definitely a bit sink or swim.
As the sewers set to work
on the shorts...
Oh...
...the ultra-light mesh pockets
are proving problematic.
Mesh is slippery.
I think it's cos it's such a
lightweight fabric
that it just wants to move.
Oops. It's so shifty.
Things get pulled about quite a lot.
I'm unpicking the bits
where I made it wrong.
Anna, how have you found the mesh?
Um, well, so far, I think Ok.
Are you a sporty person?
I roller-skate. I like
roller-skating but...

you're basically the Von Trapps.

If it's too hot, you could just
singe the whole thing.
But... Oh, I don't think it's on.
I don't even think it's working.
Adele might not be turned on...
Hmm.
...but the others have their own
challenge.
I've moved on to the lining
which is a huge pair of pants
so I've got to put leg elastics in.
The pants require a tiny
piece of elastic to be sewn
around the leg openings.
Elastic keeps your bits in order.
Elastic can always be
a bit of a pain.
I just want to make sure
I haven't twist it.
Oh, it's not perfect, but hey-h*.
That's on the inside and no-one's
going to look at the inside

Actually, the judges could.
I wouldn't run that past them.
The inner workings of gentlemen's
swimwear have been of interest
for far longer than you'd think.
Swim shorts, they've made waves
in fashion for over a century.
In the 1900s, swimwear was heavily
influenced by Victorian modesty.
So, men could swim without worrying
about revealing too much when wet.
By the 1940s, stretch fabric meant
swim shorts became quick drying
and more fitted.
What started as practicality soon
carried an erotic charge,
spotlighting the male body in a way
both discreet and daring.
But it was the 1950s that saw swim
shorts' most definitive fashion fad.
Hawaii gave the world a new look,
the surf short.
Looser, longer
and patterned with tropical print.
Surf shorts became a symbol
of youthful rebellion and adventure.
We had to wait until the noughties
before 007 gave swim shorts
another iconic moment.
Daniel Craig's sharp blue trunks
in Casino Royale proved that
swim shorts aren't just beachwear.
They're cultural icons that keep
riding the tide of fashion.
Sewers, you're halfway through.
Nothing's gone heinously wrong,
but I haven't finished yet,

So, the instructions say,
"Insert the eyelet."
Eyelets are metal rings that
reinforce holes for the cord.
I love how this machine
cuts it for you.
Ta-da!
I bet that's fun.
As an engineer...
Yeah, I'm enjoying it.
But there's nothing
fun about assembly.
Need to sandwich the waistband,
the actual swim shorts
and the mesh lining so it is a
little bit bulky under the machine.
There's lots of layers
so don't make mistakes.
How are you getting on?
All right, thank you, yeah.
I've done the waistband.
I'm just putting the elastic in.
It's just quite tricky to find
the hole in all of the layers.
Unfortunately, the elastic
is boosting itself around.
Is it Minnie-mania again?
Yeah, always. Yes.
Always stressed.
Elastic, it's just a bit
of a stressy bit cos it's fiddly.
Oh, bugger. Lost it.

Yeah, it's there, there,
there, so it's a theme.
It's actually
kind of stunning, isn't it?
I love this.
I mean, they've made
a pair of trousers.
I think that's pretty amazing,
without a pattern.
Also, this is interesting.
We've got this shape that's clearly
connecting the two.
It's quite sort of Egyptian,
isn't it?
You know, they love a sort
of phallusy shape down the front.
Got this big turquoise slash here.
We've just got little triangles
of turquoise down the bottom.
Yes. It ties together
in such an interesting
and I think totally original way.
I think it's really brilliant.
This really reminds me of that
dinosaur that throws up
that frill behind its head.
Very aggressive.
A spitter.
Like me.
A little bit.
Quite a lot like you, actually.
There's a bustier top made out
of overlapping layers of triangles.
Then this kind of triangle motif
repeated again in the skirt.
Yes. But we haven't got
this pink on here.
Yeah, there's just an extra
color in the top.
Patrick and Esme will now rank the
teams' outfits from last to first.
Fourth place is the bustier with
the pink skirt.
Heather and Emma.
You're like naughty schoolgirls.
It's a shame you didn't put any
of that see-through on the skirt.
Third place is the top and the
skirt with the triangle motifs.
That is Tim and Adele.
There needs to be cohesiveness
with the top and the bottom.
Thank you.
So, in second place is...
...this dress with
the stripes of turquoise.
That is Minnie and Beth.
We really liked those
shapes you've got.
This could easily have won,
but there is still a sense
of a wind surfing sail.
Yes. As brilliant as it is.
Well done.
Thank you.
Which means in first place is our
incredible crisscross trouser suit.
Rebecca and Anna.
Well done.
We chose this one as our winner
because it was
so dramatically different
from a sail.
But the way the whole thing ties
together is exemplary.
Everything was a collaboration.
It was so much fun.
I think it's brilliant.
Thank you.
Oh, my goodness. That was...
It was...amazing.
So much fun.
Really fun, really fun.
And I'm just so thrilled.
I can't believe we came first.
I'm not normally a team sport person
but maybe I am now.
I really enjoyed it.
I'm really happy with it,
and I think I want Beth near me.
With all the challenge now, please.
Yeah, we've got this.
Fourth's not bad.
Fourth, yeah. Very true.
Not bad. Just don't say last.
Yeah, we're fourth, we're fourth.
We were fourth of four.
Think we're both danger zone.
We're both danger zone, yeah.
We're both vulnerable.
I'm going into the made to measure
tomorrow with a positive attitude.
You're going to knock it
for six, darling.
You're going to knock it for six.
So are you. Well, we'll see.
One more challenge
stands between the sewers
and a place in the next round.
Hi. How are you?
I'm good, how are you?
I'm good.
Today is going to be a good day.
Welcome back, sewers.
Or should I say
athletes of the atelier.
It's time to limber up your bobbins,
stretch out your seams,
fuel yourself on blind panic
and biscuits,
because it's the made to
measure challenge.
Now the judges would like you to
make a bowling shirt
that combines free motion embroidery
with applique.
On the back, they'd like you to
design something
inspired by a hobby or a team
that you like.
And then on the front,
they want a name.
You've got five hours,
your time starts now.
Go!
Ok. Right.
I have been bowling.
If my mates are going bowling,
I will always go with them.
I am rubbish at bowling.
So, I do have the bumpers up
and if I can't have bumpers
I don't want to play.
Well, I obviously really need to do
well in this challenge
to stay in the competition.
I'd absolutely love
to make it through.
So, what's so special
about bowling shirts?
Why have you picked this challenge?
Well, I love a bowling shirt.
In my teens, I bought loads of them.
They've all got really super
exciting designs
and individual motifs.
Applique is the technique
of decorating a garment
with smaller pieces of fabric.
Free motion embroidery is using
the sewing machine
to draw with the needle and thread.
Both techniques are often
combined on bowling shirts.
They're all really intricate
and have impact.
I'm intrigued to see
what they come up with.
But essentially we want a really
beautifully made shirt
with a clear design on the back that
tells the story of a hobby
or a sport and that's got meaning
to them.
Well, let's see if we're bowled
over by what they do.
Right, I think that should be fine.
Morning.
Hello, good morning.
Tell us what you're doing.
I'm making a shirt to
celebrate my love of cooking.
My mum's a great cook
and she taught me to cook.
So, I'm going to have, it's almost
like a tablecloth at the back.
Yeah. And then I'm going to have
a bit of a...array of like
a sort of messy cooking scene.
So, there's a big bowl of spaghetti
which I'm using yarn to kind of do.
Wow.
Anna's yarn of spaghetti will form
the name on the front of her shirt,
with free hand embroidery adding
an illustrative detail
to enhance her applique food.
I've got a parsley.
Appliqueing parsley, that's tricky.
But I'm just doing a big shape.
Oh, Ok.
Presumably that's your lemon.
Lemon, yeah. Very good.
It's making me slightly hungry.
I know, I'm a bit hungry, actually.
I might have to go and get a snack.
Patrick may be peckish but Beth's
been having her protein bars.
I'm going to be doing
weight lifting.
I've done power lifting, recently.
So, I thought it would be nice
to do something weights relevant.
Beth's shirt will feature
embroidered slogans
and an appliqued weight,
alongside a pet that holds
a special place in her heart.
Her name is Cilla.
Ah. Like Cilla Black. Ginger.
Yeah, Cilla, Ginge.
I often get called a red setter.
Uncanny, isn't it?
It's really good.
Hang on, just look.
She's always like the most
beautiful dog
but she actually passed away
two weeks ago.
Aw. So that wasn't the plan.
She was meant to be alive
and on the back but...
Yeah...now it will be
to honour her.
Sorry, I love my dog,
I can't imagine. Oh...
Sorry. Thank you.
It's horrible, in't it?
While Beth is hoping to do
Cilla proud,
Minnie also has a design
that's close to her heart.
I will applique figure of my son
playing ice hockey.
It's from a photo of him
playing ice hockey.
That figure
I will be tracing on my shirt.
Minnie's celebrating her son's
passion for ice hockey.
Underneath the appliqued
image of him playing
will be a team slogan formed
with an ice hockey shoelace.
My son knows that
I am doing this shirt.
He's very excited.
He's happy about it.
He's proud.
He knows I'm proud of him.
And the heartfelt designs
keep on coming.
I'm a massive Blackburn Rovers
fan from growing up in Blackburn,
and when I was about seven years old
we won the league.
Premier League, yeah.
That we don't stop talking about.
And it was just one of the best
days of my life.
After a tricky day yesterday,
Adele's hoping her
Blackburn-inspired shirt
will lift her
out of the relegation zone.
She's appliqueing roses and trophies
as well as the date the club
was formed, and finishing
them with embroidered details
in homage to her favourite team.
I'm basically making a shirt
for eight-year-old Adele.
As an adult. Brilliant.
And I'll wear it in the pub
with my dad before the match.
Ah! Love it.
Right, celebrating my gym crew.
We go to the gym every day
at six o'clock.
It's got a big sun and all the rays
are bits of my mates' gym kit.
Tim's gambling on an ambitious
gym-themed shirt to move him
up the rankings.
It features a panelled front,
a detailed embroidered fist, as well
as an intricate appliqued sunrise.
Have you done applique before?
No.
Oh.
But it's just sticking stuff on
and sewing it on, Esme,
so it can't be that difficult,
can it?
But before they put their applique
skills to the test,
the sewers must produce
perfect shirts.
I've done my collar.
Just been a bit fiddly to sew.
The collar's good.
Can I see the front? I do love red.
Many of the sewers have chosen
to color block.
Mine is black and yellow
so a boy can wear it as well.
The more seams they add,
the more chance for error.
I can't, like, get the colours wrong
because Blackburn shirts are blue
and white alternating.
Wish me luck. Mine, it's got
a contrast panel in it.
Uh-oh.
Just caught on the seam.
There's a wrinkle.
They will notice that.
I'll iron it out.
I could do with a little
bit more time.
Sewers, you're halfway through.
Still doing the shirt.
There's certainly more pressure
in the sewing room than there is
down the gym, that's for sure.
While Tim battles on,
many of the sewers are ready
for the all-important fitting.
Please, please, please fit.
Fitting can be a bit scary,
but that looks about right.
When it comes to facing heart-racing
moments, Emma's a pro.
My design is based on a trip
that I made with five guys,
and we went to the Czech Republic
and we learned to paraglide.
It can be dangerous.
Since I've had children, I don't
feel I can continue to do it.
At the back, Emma's design
will feature a group
of appliqued paragliders,
while Emma's nickname Emilka
will feature on the front of her
slim fitted shirt.
Oh, no, it's fine. It's just the way
it was sitting.
Ok. Just my boobs.
Once they're happy with their
fittings...
Hello, Cilla.
...applique can commence.
So, I've got my little olive oil
bottle and there's my bowl.
It's quite exciting.
That's a badger.
So basically I go to this festival
called Camp Wildfire
and it has patrol games. One
of the patrols is the badger patrol.
So, I'm here repping the badgers.
Aiming to make her patrol proud,
Rebecca's including a free
motion embroidered badger
on her breast pocket.
The back has an appliqued
camping scene
as well as a prominent badger face.
Hmm. Badger patrol.
Do you have a chant?
I mean, each patrol has some songs.
So we have a bit of, like,
Venga Boys.
I'm loving it. I'm going
to ba-ba-ba-badger off now.
Thank you.
See you later.
While Rebecca plans
a party in the woods,
Heather's heading to the
depths of the ocean.
I've got a shark
and a whale on the back.
Cos if you didn't know already
from the last four weeks,
I scuba dive.
Heather's attaching some of her
favourite ocean creatures,
a turtle pocket and a carefully
stitched hammerhead shark and whale.
I've still got lots to do.
This definitely doesn't signify
a whale of a time.
Not at this moment in time, anyway.
I'm going to start sewing
the applique.
I am feeling so nervous.
Fixing applique is no mean feat.
It just can be a bit fiddly
when you've sealed the raw edges in.
Glory be.
The curve of a parachute, it's hard.
Morning.
Right, what are you doing there?
I am appliqueing my son's
junior ice hockey team.
I'm writing Little Tempest.
So, this is a hockey boot lace.
It's a hockey boot lace.
Yeah, I really like it.
It looks cool, doesn't it? Yes.
So, is this dissolvable paper?
It's a glue-on tracing paper.
I'm going to tear it off.
I chose a quite thin one...
Oh, sh**t. Ok.
I didn't realise it left a mark.
Oh, is it stuck on? Yeah.
There's a bunch of glue on the
bottom. Maybe it'll wash out?
I might run it under the sink later.
Yeah, well,
take it down the laundrette.
I mean, it's always a tempest
where Minnie is involved.
God!
Minnie's shirt might have
a glue stain...
My plan is I will
worry about it later.
...but other sewers have their
own challenges.
Let's get free motioning.
I'm going to drop down the machine's
grippy bits
that push your fabric along.
So that's up.
That's then down.
The feed dogs that grip
the material are removed
and the free motion embroidery
can begin.
Obviously, it's very slippery.
But then that's part of the beauty
of it, that you can do whatever
and create some really cool effects.
The aim is to just use the machine
like you would a pen.
Dogs have so much character.
I want to be able to look at it
and be like, yeah,
that's specifically Cilla.
I am feeling a little bit
trepidatious.
You've got free rein.
It's like a Ouija board.
I'm doing the details of the rose.
I've got to really concentrate,
cos if I take my eyes off it,
it's going to go for a wander.
Right, turtle is done.
Let's get her attached.
Tim, how are you getting on?
It's kind of a bit pressured,
cos of course we haven't got
a huge amount of time left.
How long have you got?
About an hour and ten minutes.
I'm just about to start
the appliques.
I've still got lots to do.
That's the figure of my son.
I've still got the glue
to worry about.
It's all over the shirt.
Sewers, you've got one hour.
Oh, my God.
I don't want to let Blackburn down.
Alan Shearer
might actually watch this.
Alan Shearer, if you're watching,
please can I have your autograph?
He can sign it!
Adele's in the relegation spot,
but she's got cups,
she's got ribbons, she's got dates.
I think she's in good shape.
I'm doing the free motion
embroidery.
Hopefully, it's really quick.
Tim's on the dumbbell and he's still
got to do a whole sun ray.
He hasn't got long.
Time to clean up that glue mess.
I cannot believe I am doing this.
I'm in disbelief.
Minnie is very stressed.
I'm not surprised.
I mean, she's busy sponging away.
Really hope she gets it cleaned up.
It's really stuck on.
Come on.
Sewers, you've got 30 minutes.
Right.
Soul destroying doing this.
Instead of doing more embroidery.
There's my lovely model.
But for now,
I have to write my name.
The writing, it's going
to say "Still alive."
I am still alive.
I don't have the best handwriting.
Oh, that's not a great C.
Just going to write my name.
I'm using yarn for spaghetti.
It's hard with ramming
all this through.
Oh, my gosh.
My needle broke.
That was close.
That was a very, very broken needle.
Adele. How we doing?
Stressed, this is my stressed face.
Fighting for survival.
Fighting for survival.
That's what I'm doing.
Good for you.
Need to get this sunrise
on my shirt.
And what's gone wrong?
Why isn't it working?
I've run out of bobbin thread.
No!
Hello, darling. Hello, hello.
And how are you getting on?
I cannot clean the glue off.
Can I give you a cuddle?
I know, it's hard, isn't it?
It's exhausting.
You know what? I'm just going to do
the actual patch pocket
that I wanted to do. I think
that's a good plan.
There may be a splodge on it but
you've got everything else.
Spare bobbins galore.
How long have I got left?
Five minutes.
Ouch.
I'm breathing, I'm breathing,
I'm breathing, girls.
I'm breathing. Come on.
Right, I'm going to just let loose.
I want to, like, draw weights.
So, I'm struggling cos the yarn
just likes to do crazy things
and it kind of moves like spaghetti.
So stressed,
I don't know what button to press.
You've got one minute.
Come on.
Oh, my God. Just sticking on bits
of fabric.
Right, I think it's ready to go on.
I am just so stupid.
Oh, Minnie.
Might be a bit damp.
Go, go, go.
Little bit sexy.
So sorry.
Needles up, that's your time.
Yeah, thank you.
You Ok now? You all right?
Yeah!
Oh, my God, Anna,
yours look incredible.
The spaghetti is seriously messy
if you look close up.
Spaghetti's supposed to be messy.
I wish I could've got a few
more of these rays on the back.
It's all right.
I love the idea of you
on badger patrol.
You've managed to get a really great
expression on your badger's face
and I love the way you've got this
kind of ragged edge.
It feels so graphic and I think the
scale of it's absolutely lovely.
Turn round to the front.
I like the colours together
and this embroidery here,
but it doesn't fit very well.
It's a bit tight.
Also, when I first saw you wearing
that, I thought it was a panda.
Close.
It's a shame it's going
up at the front.
But turn round.
I absolutely love this
embroidery on the back.
We've got all different colours,
which really makes it
look like a dog.
It's such a perfect combination
of the applique
and the free motion, and Cilla.
I mean...
she's a triumph.
You've just done her so proud.
She just looks like
the best dog in the world.
I just want to give her
a little pet.
Me too.
It's very amusing.
I saw you putting
your finger in there.
Go on, do it again.
Did you like it? Yeah.
I love that it says "Heather."
That's pretty neat.
Let's turn you round to the back.
Your whale and shark are fabulous.
It's such a lovely, strong motif.
But...
Yeah.
...dive squad disappearing, you know,
I mean, I'm sure.
It was meant to have been zigzagged,
but soon as I zigzagged, my needle
snapped and there was 15 minutes.
I was like... Right, Ok.
..better that than nothing.
This is one of the best things
I've ever seen in here.
This shirt is so brilliant.
The fit of it is immaculate.
It's just right.
It's sitting beautifully.
If I turn you round,
you have given us a tablecloth
laden with culinary delights.
I love the fork that's just
levitating in mid-air.
It's so beautifully graphic.
Every color works beautifully.
It's got this beautiful
naivety to it.
Yes, I really love
this design on the back.
And you've just used black thread,
but it's worked really well.
Oh, that's loose.
So that was intentional.
But, yeah, I'd have put some more
on if I'd had time, actually.
Well, it's great how the spaghetti
goes round to the front.
Yeah, that strand of spaghetti
wiggles its way
and then forms your name here.
It's brilliant. Wow.
Thank you so much.
I'd put it on my wall.
Oh, wow. Oh, my goodness.
From a distance, it looks terrific.
The collar's sitting really nicely.
This is your nickname in Czech,
was it?
Yeah. Emilka. Emilka.
Let's turn you round to the
back, please.
This is three different
paragliders at distances.
I think you've managed the balance
of the contrasting colours
really nicely.
But it is a bit tight.
If you'd made this bigger,
we could've seen this better.
Yeah.
Anyway, love this.
Still alive.
I think it has a really classic
American bowling shirt feel,
these panels.
Let's turn you round to the back.
I love that you've taken
all of your friends' gym kits
and created this sunrise.
But I'm not sure about these
colours. You've zigzagged them on
and they're all different size
zigzagging.
Yeah. They were done in quite
a hurry, actually.
Also, the dumbbell needed to be
applique as well.
Would just pop out at me
a little bit stronger.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And we've got a
bit of a tuck in the corner here.
There are just a few little bits
that you could improve upon.
Yeah, thank you.
This is, for me, one of the
strongest designs
out of all of them.
I love the color combination
and I love this little embroidery.
Can I turn you around to the back?
You've got the hockey net that
you've stylised in this circle,
and I love the way you've written
the "Little Tempest" using
a boot lace from a hockey boot,
but you ran out of time.
We should've had your son's helmet
and the grille.
Yeah.
Also, it's a big shame about this
glue at the bottom.
I could pick it off.
I know.
I could spend hours on it.
You've got to test this stuff.
Everything you put on the clothes,
you need to know
that it's going to come off.
I think it's great
and I love the blue with the white.
It's a shame, though,
the white's showing here.
Can you see the underneath bit?
Can I turn you around to the back?
The design just feels really
beautifully considered.
You've used the applique
to create the big shapes,
and then you've used free motion to
put the detail on and you've
embroidered "By skill
and hard work,"
which is Blackburn Rovers' motto.
As a person who spends
a lot of time in Blackburn
and has a business
in Blackburn, I love it.
Thank you.
I'm so, so pleased
they liked my made to measure,
because it means a lot to me,
that shirt.
And I'm just praying I get through.
It was the best I could do
in the time I had,
which frankly wasn't very much.
And I had some real issues with
some of my appliques.
I'm certainly vulnerable.
I might be going home.
It means quite a lot to me
that I done my son proud and, uh...
Sorry.
Just a bit disappointed
but learnt a lot.
That's the main thing, learnt a lot.
These shirts are fabulous.
What do you think?
Well, the two that were in
a slightly precarious position
this morning were Tim
and then Adele,
but I think her homage to the great
Blackburn Rovers, up the Rovers...
...actually was really nicely done,
and I think Adele has lifted
herself.
So have you got any idea
who might be going home?
Tim and then Minnie.
Mm-hm.
This was Minnie's transformation,
which was a bit of a step above Tim.
Today, Tim put his sunrays on
in a hurry
and I can't really see the dumbbell.
It doesn't tell me a clear story.
Yeah.
Minnie's design is more successful.
But Minnie messed up
cos of the glue.
I quite like the glue.
It adds a texture.
In a funny way, it sort of looks
like ice and it's ice hockey.
I was thinking that.
But it is a boo-boo.
Yeah. Big time.
Well, that's the end of sports week.
And you've all been absolute
champions, you really have.
So, exciting bit,
garment of the week.
P-Dizzle, what have you got for us?
Our garment of the week
this week is...
...Anna!
Well done.
It's beautiful. It's so gorgeous.
It was a literal feast for the eyes,
it was incredible.
It was amazing and a lot of work.
Thank you very much.
Now, this decision gets harder
every week for the judges,
and this was a particularly
tough one, wasn't it?
Yeah. So, it's very hard to say but
the person leaving us today is...
...Tim.
You've been amazing, Tim,
and we all love you.
You've been fab,
you've been great fun.
Come in.
Well done.
Oh, it's been amazing.
It's Ok.
I've loved every second of it.
It's my turn to go.
But you know, I couldn't have
done any more.
I've only been sewing
barely two years.
We decided to send Tim home.
My heart says Minnie stays,
because Minnie's transformation
was in a different league for me.
Tim's was less successful
and then today with two garments
where the execution is imperfect,
the one with the better vision
has won.
Give me a hug.
I certainly will give you a hug.
I came because of the joy of sewing,
and that's just been reinforced
a million-fold.
It's been a really great experience.
I've learnt so much.
Nobody's done feathered collared
coats before. Oh, no.
I mean, that was a real...
That was a work of art.
Hey, I'm the last man standing.
And it's all girls together
and good luck to every one of them
cos they are all wonderful,
wonderful, wonderful people.
Well, to Tim.
I'm so chuffed with garment
of the week.
My mum taught me to cook.
She's so excited about all of this
and, yeah, I think she'll probably
be, yeah, squealing down
the phone when I tell her.
Do you want a group hug?
Shall we all get round you?
I'm glad that I got another week,
and I'll try to make better
judgment, I will say.
I just think I've won now.
I never in a million years
thought I'd get this far.
So, I can't believe it.
I'm so happy.
Next time...
Now comes the scary bit.
...it's kids' week...
Ah! ..and the sewers
are making dance wear...
It's like a little sunflower.
...having fun with fleeces...
Ooh!
...and conjuring up...
I'm trying to add the stuffing.
...outfits to save the day.
I really need to get this
right quickly.
Which sewer... How's that?
...is going to create the ultimate
caped crusader...
I have no idea
what superhero this is.
...and who is going down in flames?
That was really stressing me out.

Amateur sewers take on challenges as they compete to be named Britain's best home sewer.
Amateur sewers take on challenges as they compete to be named Britain's best home sewer.
