01x01 - Parsley's Tail

do you know what a herb is parley is a herb basil is a herb too so is Rosemary

there are are hundreds and hundreds of different kinds big ones small ones nice

ones ones which aren't quite so nice Sage is a herb and so is bay

leaf long ago people believed herbs had some kind of magic power some people

believe it still I know a secret herb garden behind that door where all sorts of strange things happen

I have to say a magic word

herous there it's very quiet and peaceful mind you it isn't always like

this take the case of parsley's tail as you can see parsley is a lion a

very nice friendly lion not a bit like some of the big ones you meet in the jungle each day when he wakes up he

comes out and sits on the path in front of the herb

garden then he makes sure it isn't going to rain he doesn't like getting his tail

wet parsley's very proud of his tail he uses it as a fan when the weather is hot

he uses it to brush away flies sometimes he simply waves it to

and fro just for the fun of

it I'm a very friendly lion called parsley with a tale for doing jobs of

every kind but I mustn't treat it roughly or too harshly

for it's such a useful thing to have

behind he even uses it to help him balance so you can imagine how upset he

was when he lost it oh I forgot to tell you he's rather

frightened of strangers until he gets to know them that is but sometimes getting to know them

takes rather a long time it might help if you wave

wave but please don't shout or speak to me too harshly because I'm not particularly

Brave oh dear Here Comes s basil he's making the rounds of his estate so basil means well but I'm

afraid he doesn't always notice what's going on and things happen to

him I am s the king of the herbs and I'm very often in

trouble I'm not very good at sorting things out and often I get in a

muddle he's very keen on Hunting sh**ting and fishing he never catches anything of course but he always carries

a fishing rod and a shotgun just in case

hurry I have a feeling parsley is trying to tell sir basil we're watching we're not really supposed to be

here you know I should keep very still

oh that's done it it wasn't a very loud roar parsley isn't that sort of a lion but I don't think sir basil was

expecting it but parsley dear boy are you all right say something

parsley Rosemary Rosemary where are you oh

I think parsley is trying to get his own back on S basil he doesn't like g*ns especially when they go off

bang mind you you can play tricks like that on S basil rosemary hurry

up I'm not quite so sure it will work on lady Rosemary coming

basil my name is Lady Rosemary you will find you can't fool me I have eyes both

sharp and quick to help me see through every trick oh there you are

Rosemary what's going on basil I told you to'd have an accident with that g*n one of these days now you have look what

you've done shot poor old parsley don't keep nudging me you'll have me

over I think it's lady Rosemary's turn to play a trick on parsley you'd better send for bay leaf

battel and have this mess cleared up can't have Lions lion all over the path only had it weeded yesterday take him

indoors we'll have him stuffed have him stuffed ah thought that would make him feel

him now basil it's his tail you've blown it off with that blessed g*n of

yours upon my soul mind what you're doing basil you'll have another accident if you're not

careful poor old parsley we must pick him another one we'll try sticking it on and see what

happens you give him a hand up while I find a nice piece of parsley

Rosemary careful now parley oh oh I say

probably tried to wag it can't blame him for that not much use having a tail if

you can't wag it here let me have a go there how's that it's no good basil

we shall have to send for bay leaf bay leaf bay leaf shall I fire me g*n might

attract his attention you leave your g*n alone basil you've done quite enough damage for one day baile

in I'm bailea I'm the gardener I work from early Dawn you find me sweeping up

the leaves and tidy in the lawn ah sir Basil's just had a nasty accident bay leaf we need your

advice ah old par don't look too good neither it was with parsley that sir

basil had his accident I'm afraid he's lost his tail oh ah I wouldn't be

standing there if I were EAS sir Basel I'd be having a good rest or he'd be no no no bay leaf I haven't lost me tail

let it grow I tell you what if I gets my bit of rope up over that there branch and ties it on to

parsley I reckon we could hold him up straight long enough for it to take root Capital what a splendid

idea I'll tie the other end antoy barer for safety ma'am excellent come basil we'll pick another

tail for parsley there it is

again there's what again that blessed all told you I heard it

listen I do believe you're right Basel how extraordinary most unusual can't

understand it must be something funny going on ah here you are B Leaf let's try this

good gracious where is parsley don't say he's run off after all the trouble we've been

to or he just be going to fetch some water he'll want water in once it's

heard an ow and with parsley's tail all over his eyes ah no wonder he were out in I reckon he thought it were

nighttime it must have landed there when I blew it off there how's

that H seems to work all right thank goodness for that I hope it'll teach you

a lesson basil teach me a lesson I like that if it hadn't been for parsley jumping

out at me and roaring like he did mun wouldn't have gone off in the first place waving his paes about like a

windmill he was can't think why look he's doing it again so's

Dill can't see anything can you my dear nothing at all come along basil

we've wasted enough time as it is that's strange parsley can see us so can dill

but s basil and Lady Rosemary can't I wonder why I have a feeling Sage can see us as

well it's difficult to tell with owls what they're thinking goodbye

Sage goodbye Dill goodbye parsley it's nice to know you have your tail back
