So I can sail off
into the sunset.
Secondly, I won't be standing
directly on the ice,
which keeps my feet warmer.
And third, I've got somewhere
to stash all my kit
without just leaving it
on the ground.
So it's a win-win-win
if it works.

The biggest advice my wife
gave to me before leaving
was to follow my intuition.
The more I tune into
my intuition,
the more accurate
it seems to become.
And the more at ease
I feel with using it
to guide me on this journey.

A big part of my journey has
been following my intuition.

Intuitively, I know now
it was time to...
Pull out my family photo,
which I haven't yet.

My beautiful family.
I've been hesitant
up until now to bring it out
because I wasn't sure
how that would
make me feel to look at it.
It just gives me so much joy
and so much positive emotion.
And I miss them a lot.

And, yeah, continuing on
with intuition
and making the right decisions
based on that...

I'm happy I managed to put it

Everything seems so small
compared to this head.

or whatever you imagined.
So today's plan is to
elevate the moose head.
Okay, let's start the day.

It's day 70.
So it's the day that I'm putting
this moose head on a platform.
And I also want to put my arrow,
with which I shot this moose,
just things that represent me
and my situation
in this competition.
[wood thuds]
Getting so late
in this competition,
I think you should have
some kind of milestones.
So on this rounded numbers
like 70 and so on,
I want to have something
to celebrate what I did
and to enter the new chapter
of this survival journey.
[wood cracks]
And also, if my brother
would come at some point,
I would like him to see
this moose head.

With Miha, we shared this
passion since the beginning.
We were exploring this world
of bushcraft
and survival together.
Growing up with somebody
who is always close to you
and trying new stuff
and going for crazy projects,
that definitely pushed our
common knowledge to the level
I would never develop
if I would be on my own.
Okay.

Our survival school
was something
that we created together.
Okay, the platform
for the moose head is done.
It's very simple.
I just have to tie it.
And I want to show
that what we were doing
is a very unique thing
and that we were good at it.
Whoa.
This is like a proper test of
our skills, of our knowledge.
And definitely,
if I win this competition,
that's a victory also
for my brother because
it's pretty much the same
as he were doing it in a way.
Moose head almighty,
on the day 70,
I am elevating you
from the snow.

Protect my meat from critters,
bacteria, and mold.
Protect my shelter from burning,
my chimney from cracking
and collapsing.
Give me the strength

So had a very
poor night's sleep.
I had planned to tap out today,
but I've decided to
just give it a little bit longer
just that off chance
that whoever else
is out here may be thinking
the same thing.
[scratching]
So all I need to do today is
to get firewood, keep warm.
A nice, easy day is
what I need today.
♪
I know I'm not in a good state.
I'm well aware that my
weight loss is significant.
♪
Get some more firewood there.
♪
It's resulting in
feelings of weakness,
particularly sort of
muscle fatigue.
♪
Mentally, I feel very strong.
I still feel a strong drive
to continue
as long as I can and win.
But I'm also very conscious
that my physical abilities
are becoming
significantly decreased.
Even though I want to
continue as long as I can,
I don't want it to be
at the expense
of my long-term health.
Oh, man.
♪
I'm feeling exhausted
just from that.
[footsteps crunching]
It's not right, is it?
Not right at all.
♪
I can't accept the failure.
My mind is telling me
I can still do it.
If there are only two of you
left in the field,
if you can just keep going
a little bit longer
than somebody else,
it's in the bag.
I think my mind is trying
to compensate and do
as much as it can
to stay out here.
But my body is
unable to function
efficiently and safely.
No, I'm just not in a good way.

I can't warm my toes,
can't move my fingers.
♪
I look at my withered muscles,
my skinny legs.
And I think to myself,
I've become
physically unable to continue.
It's a very painful thought
to have to make that decision,
but for the benefit
of my own health,
long-term and in the short-term,
tapping out is
the only sensible option.

I'm so far.
We've already come so far.
This is the toughest thing
that I've had to film.

This is Andrew.
I'm officially
tapping out today.

I swore, before I came out here,
I would never tap out.
But I think my health
has made the call for me.
I'm just feeling weak.
And I know my body
is just on its last legs.
I just can't push it anymore.
But I think I've done
pretty well, 71 days.
I'm pretty proud of myself.
I like to think,
as someone coming from Wales,
that I've done something
that is a little bit different.
Wales is known for rugby,
and it's known for singing
and things like that.
But extreme survival challenges
are not really something
Wales is known for.
So hopefully
I can put it on the map.
[chuckles]

I walk away from this with
a strong sense of pride.
I feel that I've done
everything I can
and I am good enough.
My skills are strong.
My willpower is way stronger
than I imagined
it could ever be.
It's been painful,
but I think it's taught me
some incredibly
good lessons
that will benefit me
as an instructor and mentor.
♪
I will never take anything
for granted again.
I will never assume that
something will be easy.
And you can achieve
the impossible
if you truly believe you can.
I really don't feel I have
anything to prove anymore.
It would have been great to win,
but if I can hold my head high
and say that I survived 71 days
in the Arctic in
extreme temperatures,
living off the land,
it's not something
many people can do.
So I feel like
I've done pretty well.
"Alone" has given me
an opportunity
to prove myself in a way that
no other opportunity could have.
So I feel very honored to
have been a part of this.
I wouldn't change it
for the world.

I'm definitely slowing down
in my walking.
My stride is a little shorter.
Eating, that's all
I can think about.
♪

that just builds up.
Flammable as well.
It's really hard to continue
to choose the difficult path.
That smoke seems to be
building up a bit.
I'm a bit concerned
they might pull me out.
