When we got to the hospital,

they just hooked up an IV bag with tubing
and just sat here and just flushed my eye,

and the guy was
getting the glue out with water.

there's no words for it.

so much by how they look,

and I know he's dated
a lot of different people in his life,

but he fell in love with my heart first.

he's wise. He's intelligent,
and he's gentle.

He has everything that I'd want
in a spouse.

He's the whole package for me.

that scares me a little

was the conversation
that we had with the kid thing.

I was actually adopted.

'cause I don't wanna
give away my appearance.

You don't have to do that.

I do not know my family's medical history.

I do not know who my birth family is.

To bring a child into this world,

I… am afraid of not knowing

what that means for my child
in terms of… health issues.

I was…

born with…

birthmarks all over my body
that had a very high chance of melanoma.

- Okay.
- [Emma] So I underwent…

ten surgeries before the age of seven
to get them removed.

Wow.

[Emma] And so I am left with

physical scarring.

And I think bringing in a child,
like, I don't know what I'm passing down.

And, like, that's really scary.

[Mike] Yeah.

I will never judge you
for any type of physical appearance

based on, like, what you went through.

I really do appreciate
you sharing that with me.

And about the reasoning why, you know,

you're having that struggle
with having children.

- Or not having children.
- Yeah.

But I mean, just from you telling me that,

I think you'd be
a great mother… [chuckles]

…if you were to choose to.

I mean,

to go through so much

and have those uncertainties,

you should be proud of who you are,
where you came from.

You're put on this earth for a reason.
Things happen for a reason.

I haven't told anybody this here,
actually. [chuckles]

So, I was a premature baby.

- Um, when I was born…

um, I… I had trouble, like, breathing.

- [Emma] Mm-hmm.
- And I stopped breathing.

And… and I flatlined.

- [Mike] They had to bring me back to life.

[chuckles] My grandma calls me
"a little miracle baby."

I like to consider myself a fighter.

- And I like to think you are too now.
- Yeah.

For sharing with me that.

- You know? We're fighters.

[Mike] To go through something
so, um, hard

and to be able to be,
um, still an amazing person…

I appreciate you sharing that with me.

is what my parents told me.

I was born
with birthmarks all over my body.

- I felt so different from everyone.

not knowing my roots, it really, like,

messed with my head as a kid.

And I think I've started understanding
why do I not want kids.

…selfishly, like, want them to go
through the things I went through.

because of what you went through,

When I was first interviewing
for Love Is Blind,

they asked me about dealbreakers,
and I said having a kid was a dealbreaker.

So this has been something
I've been thinking a lot about.

Probably why I'm not getting much sleep.

But she's been
telling me so much about Emma.

I'm like, "Now it's kind of exciting."

I think that I'm a very lucky guy
to be in this position at all,

and I hope that she feels the same.

Like, I love my career.
I love my job, even if it is hard.

You know, I have Emma. I love that.

But it must be
really nice to have somebody

that's there for you
at the end of every day for sure.

I just like that
we have a lot of similarities

as far as, I don't know,
being more open and honest.

When we were talking about finances,
"Yeah, we both f*cked up at one point."

- So we're both shitty with money.

It's, like, nice to not have
that judgmental attitude with everything.

And I think you're a very,
like, understanding and caring person,

and that is different for me.

What type of guys do you usually go for?

or looks-wise?

Um, I don't know. I didn't really have
anything too specific in mind.

I just wasn't sure if there's like…
I guess either. Like, if there's…

Yeah, I guess I'd be curious
if there's a type

that you're more attracted to, usually.

[Amber] Looks-wise,
it doesn't really matter.

I've dated a different type of guy
every time I've had a relationship.

But I haven't had, like,
that many relationships.

If that makes sense.

- Yeah. Me neither.

You could be on the shallow end too.
I don't care.

The personality makes a huge difference.

[Amber] Would you say that
you usually go for more brunettes?

- Do you like blondes or redheads at all?

I just don't know that many redheads.

Actually, I'm not a redhead now,
but I am naturally kind of a redhead.

And I used to be, like, deep redhead.

For this time around,
I changed it up a bit.

But it's funny, growing up,
I was not attractive whatsoever.

I was really skinny and had this,
like, frizzy red hair at that time.

[chuckles] You know? I was a dork.
I loved planets. I had the planet shirt.

So I actually got fake asked out

in sixth grade
in front of the entire school.

- You know, from…
- Aww, that's sad.

[Amber] Which was humiliating.

I didn't cuss,
but basically told him to f*ck off.

- Hmm.
- I was made fun of heavily in school.

But I was one of the poorest kids.

And having a kid, like, out of wedlock
and not even being in a relationship,

and going through that, there was a lot
of judgment at that time period.

I just learned I had to own it.
I just don't give a sh*t now.

You know, I think something I feel
a little bit insecure about is, like,

growing up, I had a hard time with,
um… with learning.

I had a teacher
call me "a stupid kid" once.

- What? What a b*tch.
- [Jordan] Yeah, it was crazy.

Yeah, I had an ex-girlfriend that
reaffirmed that insecurity as well,

which… that sucked.

- Tell her she's stupid.
- [Jordan] Yeah, she is.

Um, anyway, when I did get my degree,
that felt pretty good.

Good! No, good for you.

I don't know that
I've found my path professionally.

And I haven't been exercising.

I haven't been utilizing my time wisely
for things that matter.

Finding something that
truly fulfills me in life, honestly…

I've told you a million times,
I love to cook.

It's like an art form
in the way that I talk about it.

It's like, "Oh, you know,
it makes me feel really good."

I think I'll figure things out,
but I, you know, gotta make money.

So gotta keep doing
the damn thing for a while.

I totally get that.

I mean, I love my job, don't get me wrong,
and helping people is pretty amazing.

But I'm kind of like you
where I'm a little bit more artsy,

a little bit more
do-it-yourself type of thing.

Not to be, "I'm not like everybody else."
I'm not like everybody else.

I just think I am weird, so… [laughs]

Like, and I'm okay with that.

[Jordan] Yeah. It would be really nice
to have somebody to be weird with.

[Amber] Yeah.

[Jordan] I wonder if everybody
thinks that they're weird.

I guess I probably just wear my weirdness
on my sleeve a bit more.

Honestly, prior to having Emma,
during those insecurities,

I felt this overwhelming pressure
to be, like, this perfect girl.

But it's interesting,
like, you go through sh*t,

and you're like, "I don't care
about being perfect anymore."

Yeah. I like listening to you talk.

I like your voice.

See, when people say that,

I don't get that,
'cause I feel like I have this brash…

There's so many girls in this group
that have these soft, loving voices.

I'm like, "Why can't I have
that soft voice?"

- [chuckles]
- No, your voice is, like, charming.

- [Jordan] Yeah. I like it.

It's just gonna be strange
to match a voice with a face.

The only thing that I could possibly say,

and it's almost impossible
to know until you meet,

is what if we don't have
any natural chemistry?

As long as it's not some 60-year-old man…

I'm really, really, really trying
to just focus on the personal connection,

and, uh, like,
I've felt really good about ours.

but one of my favorite mottos is,

So I would definitely cry a river.
Probably cry an ocean.

But then it's like, "Okay, well,
why is this my life's journey?"

Maybe God wants me to go a different path,

but I feel like I'm called to be a mother.

- Like, my kids would love me.

They would probably have to go to therapy
for some reason because of me. [laughs]

You could have the best parents.
You're gonna go to therapy.

But I'm hoping it's like, "Oh my God.
My mom loved me too much. Help."

You know, hopefully it is because
I'm doing something overly motherly.

- [Tyler] I feel I'm gonna be a great mom.

- [Kevan] I think so too.

Is there anything that your kids could do

where you would
maybe distance yourself from them?

[Kevan] Hmm.

What about their sexuality?

- [Tyler] No, I would be welcoming.

- Yeah.

Of course, I would have this idea
in my head of, like,

what I want for my son.

- It would be hard, but, I mean…
- Yeah.

Nah, I'm still gonna be accepting though.

Every man I've dated in the past's
answer has been like,

- "My son will never be g*y."
- [laughs] Yeah!

Saying like, "If he's g*y, like,
I'm gonna take him to the strip club."

- And I'm like, "That's a little strange."

But I also understand the idea of,

"I have this vision for what your
life would be like, and it's different."

"So I gotta go handle my sh*t while
I also try to love you through your sh*t

and support you."

I don't think I've really talked
about my mom too, too much.

When I was, uh, 18, my mom,

she almost passed away.

- Um, it was-- it was insane.

And it really changed
the whole dynamic of, like,

the household and everything.

Are you okay with saying how?

It was actually crazy
'cause I was suspended from school.

- What did you do?
- [Kevan laughs]

I went to gym class,
like, four straight periods.

- Because it was a substitute teacher.
- Oh my God.

[laughs] And I just played basketball
the whole day.

[Tyler] Oh my God, Kevan!

- [laughs]
- [Kevan] But I finally got caught…

[both laugh]

…the last period of the day.

And so I, you know, was at home.

My mom, you know, was upstairs.
She's passed out.

I'm like, "My mom's out of it.
What the heck is going on?"

I call 911.
You know, we go to the hospital.

Turns out she had a rare blood infection
that was affecting her leg.

And, literally, the doctor told me,

"Hey, if you weren't suspended
and didn't do that,

you would have came home,
and your mom would have been gone."

You know? And so she had
to have her foot amputated.

And it was just like, "Wow."

For all this to happen to me at 18,

it made me have to really, like, grow up.

- Yeah.
- [Kevan] And just be the man of the house.

Care for her, you know, help her
and really make sure she's good.

Yeah. First of all,
thank you for sharing that with me.

'Cause I know you're not
a person that likes to harp on

the tough parts of life.

No, I'm not. Yeah, I'm not at all.

what does love look like for you?

I remember my aunt being like

her husband,

was the highlight for her
and made her giddy, excited.

And, um, I think after she said that,
it kind of changed my

perception of love

and made me want more.

but I think that

and my grandma cooking growing up.

coming in at the age of seven

Thinking about your mom,
do you think she'd be proud

had suffered kind of a pretty serious,
