I just feel grateful

I have overdosed.
I have been in a dark alley
By myself.
I have had g*ns put to my head.
I have been in scary situations,

To be alive,
And I think that that's how I
Came to be the person that I am,
The very happy, free-spirited--

Got a new life given to me
Again, because I got off it
All on my own.
I locked myself into a room
And was sick for, like,
A week by myself and just
Decided to take everything
Away from me.

I lost so many people.
