until I posted that.

It was terrifying, actually.

A live streamer
accidentally captures

a restless ghost
in her kitchen.

I was definitely
scared and when
the second one dropped,

that's when I said,
"I'm out. I'm out."

What on Earth
is living in this Argentinian
woman's home?

This is so frickin' weird
and it's a tasty little morsel
of creepiness. I love it.

And even more
paranormal footage
you have to see...

Oh, my God.
I'm catching a UFO right now.

...to believe.

In the world
of the paranormal,

there are few subjects
as stigmatized

as shadow figures.

Dark, soulless masses

that are typically seen
ducking behind walls

or doorways.

And if those shadow figures

are witnessed in a location
known to be
filled with trauma,

that energy is thought to be
all the more sinister.

At least, for most people.

Because two investigators
in Nevada

have a very different
perspective

and view the shadow figure
they captured
in an abandoned prison

through a decidedly

positive lens.

in Carson City, Nevada.

Let's see
what we catch.

Susan Bernard
and Jackie Kleeb

are investigating
the Nevada State Prison,

an abandoned penitentiary
with a reputation.

- I'm Susan Bernard.
- And I'm Jackie Kleeb.

And I took the video.

The prison used to be a hotel.

In 1862, it became a prison.

And then it closed in 2012.

I mean, I've been
doing paranormal investigating
for over 30 years.

I have to honestly say
that this prison

is one of the most
active places
I've ever been to.

It's crazy.

Nevada State Prison

is one of the most
notoriously haunted prisons
in the US.

This one has
such a colorful history.

It's burned down a few times.

A whole number of executions
done there.

It was the first place
in this country

to execute people
with a gas chamber.

A lot of people incarcerated
within these walls

were violent criminals

who not only
lived their lives here

but in a lot of cases,
died here as well.

It makes sense that this
is a place that would be
decidedly haunted.

Which is why
Susan and Jackie

have investigated the prison

for years.

I've been trying to get
the paranormal in there
from 2013

and finally the board
allowed me to start having
paranormal come through.

So we just started doing that
in 2016.

And over that time,
they've captured
their fair share

of bizarre activity.

Mostly surrounding
the presence of orbs,

like on this night.

But that is nothing
compared to what
Susan and Jackie captured

one night in April 2021.

We were filming.
Jackie goes, "Can I tape you?"
I said, "Yeah."

So she's taping
as I held my spirit box,
saying, you know...

We get done, and we go,
"God, it's kind of
quiet here."

So we decide to come home.

We're sitting
at this dining room table,

and Jackie's reviewing
her video and she says,

"Oh, my gosh.

You won't believe
what we caught."

As Susan attempts
to communicate
using her spirit box...

behind her head.

as a dark, shadow-like figure

seems to peek its head around
and almost through
the cell bars

next to Susan's head.

You know
how mercury moves?

How it splits up?

That's what this does.

I didn't even feel it

and my hair moves.

There seems to be
some kind of dark figure
lurking behind this woman.

You could see it peek out
for a little bit,

and then it
kind of goes back.

You can't
make out any detail.

There's no skin color
if you will.

It's just kind of
this black void

that seems to have
a human-type appearance
with its movements.

If you notice,
everything in the frame
that we see

has detail and color.

You could see the outfit
that the investigator
is wearing.

You could even see
just beyond her
into the hallway,

past the cells

and it seems pretty well lit,

so why is it that this figure
that comes in behind her
is pitch black?

It's like, it's almost
like anti-light.
It's complete blackness.

It looks like a hand
almost reaches through

and then kind of hangs on
to the bars

and maybe even
comes around the corner
a little bit.

That was really,
really freaky.

Freaky as it may seem
to most people,

for Susan and Jackie,

who claim to have seen
the same shadow figure
at the prison

many times
since the experience,

it's anything but.

Didn't scare us.

The blob.
That's what we call it.

But he's all over the place.

I think it protects me.

I say that.

People look at me weird.

We don't get any bad feelings
at all from the shadows.

No, no, no.

Shadow figures
are often associated with
the darker types of events,

sometimes even demonic,
but it doesn't have to
be that way.

If it's a spirit
that passed from this world,
just like those who are alive,

they have a mixture
of both good
and bad qualities.

It is really important
to remember that even
when we think of a place

as being associated
with something bad
or dangerous or frightening,

like a prison,

not necessarily
everything there is bad.

Families of prisoners
came to visit.

Innocent people
were likely incarcerated.

There were wardens.
There were guards.

There were people
who worked there.

Even people
who lived in the area.

The only reason
why these energies

have the ability
to interact with us
and our gear on investigations

is because they're feeding off
the energy you bring.

And so if you bring
an energy source
that they use as fuel,

and it's a positive
energy fuel,

then you're going to get
positive interactions.

And Susan and Jackie
are nothing but positive.

Everything's not just demons.

These are spirits

and I tell everybody,
who are we to label them,
right?

We don't know who they are.

And we've never had
a bad experience in there.

- No.
- Nothing.

So I think our long goal,
you know,
is just to teach people

and let them know that

just because it was a prison,
you know,

don't think they're bad.

Bad in life, but who knows
what they're doing
in the afterlife, right?

across the street
from your property.

Kamiryn Eifert
and her grandmother, Carol,

are in Carol's car
and leaving their property,

which is locked by a gate.

When Carol exits their vehicle
to close the gate behind them,

Kamiryn spots
something strange
across the road,

lit by the glow
of the car's headlights.

So she grabs Carol's phone

and begins filming.

Nana,
what is that?

Watch again

as a dark, mysterious figure
peeks around a tree
across the road

and stares directly

at Carol and Kamiryn.

What is that?

-I'm Carol.
-And I'm Kamiryn
and this is our video.

I just heard her
being like, "Nana,
what is that, what is that?"

And then I kind of
glanced across there
and I saw something black.

It was frightening.
I couldn't figure out
what it was.

Even when you try to zoom in,
you can't really make out
what it is.

The eyes weren't glowing.

That means it's not an animal
and it had no face.

And it was a black figure.

Nana, what is that?

It's really hard to tell
what this thing
behind this tree is,

but nevertheless,
it doesn't look like something

you'd want to go up
and investigate
a little closer.

It seems to be
completely black

and it's peeking
around the tree,

very similar to when we see
images of shadow figures

that always seem to be lurking
and hiding and looking
at the living.

I don't know if this can be
a shadow figure, to be honest.

It seems like
it's something living.

It doesn't seem like
it could be a shadow figure.

It's giving me bigfoot vibes.

It's giving me
Skinwalker vibes.

So I definitely wouldn't
get out of the car.

There's no way
I'm getting out of the car

because, like, who knows
what that thing is capable of.

I would guesstimate
that the height of this
might be eight or nine feet.

Maybe a little bit taller.

It wasn't short and I'm sure
people will think this might
be a bigfoot or a Sasquatch.

If it was
a bigfoot, its mass would be
wider than the tree itself.

It's not a bear,
'cause if it was a bear

and somebody came out
and just started filming it,

I'm sure it would just, like,
scurry off into the woods.

Nana,
what is that?

I love that we get
this commentary from the kid,

going, "Nana, what is it?"

And it's like, "Yeah,
Nana, what is it?
I want to know, too."

She may not
have had any clue then,

but now, Kamiryn believes
she knows exactly what
she captured that night.

A hide behind.

I think it's a hide behind
because of the black face
it has

and the weird way it turns
behind the tree

and, like, it disappears,
basically, into nothing

when it goes behind.

A hide behind
is a creature that comes to us
out of logging camp folklore,

lumberjack folklore.

It's a creature
that was often spotted
by people, understandably,

spending a lot of time
in densely wooded spaces
of our country.

Hide behinds
were said to prey
on human beings

and even consume them.

They would hide behind a tree
and grab a logger

and then drag them
back to their lair
where they would devour them.

A lot of times
with these hide behinds,

they're also associated with
people that go into the woods
and never come out.

They get lost
or they just disappear
for some reason.

And some people believe
these hide behinds

are one of the reasons
these people just never
come out of the woods again.

I had never heard of
a hide behind
until I posted that.

I have never even heard
her talk about one.

But, you know, at 3:00 a.m.
I was looking
some of that stuff up

and it was terrifying,
actually.

But if this is
actually a hide behind,

where does it come from?

When we look
at plant life and the trees,

we think that they're these
stationary, biological things
without any consciousness,

but that couldn't
be further from the truth.

Trees, plants, grass, fungi,
they all have root systems
that communicate

and connect with each other.

When you touch a tree,
that tree is
understanding that touch.

So when you start
going into a forest,
cutting down all these trees,

you're creating this
fight or flight response

of these very sentient
plant beings.

And so they might have a way
to defend themselves

by creating these
elemental beings
that annihilate the problem.

And that is man.

Terrifying.

Understandably,

Carol and Kamiryn didn't
stick around long enough

to find out
one way or another.

I immediately just
got in the car
and we took off.

I mean, but she was freaked...
you know, she was...

-It was terrifying.
-She was freaking out
the whole way home.

And now,
they're keeping
an extra eye out.

When we're back
at our property,

I actually hear weird noises
in the forest,
like bigfoot noises, kind of.

She swears
bigfoot's out there.

And, I mean,
people say that they've
seen these things.

So I still don't really know
what it was that night.

It was scary.

keep popping up
around the world?

In seemingly
every corner of the globe,

there exists a legend

of a small,
whimsical creature

that secretly inhabits
the unexplored crevices

of people's homes.

And while it may be easy
to dismiss the talk
of such beings

as merely the product
of folklore,

several recent accidental
video captures in Argentina

may just be the legend's
best evidence yet.

A woman named Silvia

notices that her
two-year-old son,

Benjamin, is acting
uncharacteristically nervous.

Concerned, she takes out
her phone, to record
his strange behavior.

And at that
very moment...

as a strange,
diminutive creature

runs behind Benjamin...

quickly disappearing
from the camera's view.

This is the kind of
high strangeness
I am here for.

This is so frickin' weird
and it's a tasty little morsel
of creepiness. I love it.

Looking
at this, you can see what
looks like pointed ears

and a hairless body.

Grey. It's been described,
elves kind of having that
different shaped ear.

It's unlike anything
I've ever seen before.

Two years later,
it makes another appearance
in Silvia's home.

Watch the right side
of your screen very closely.

Did you see that?

Watch again.

Over Benjamin's shoulder,
under the bed,

the creature returns.

Once again, it seems to be
this same, small creature.

Only this time,
it's not running away
from them.

It seems to be straddling
part of the bedframe

and crawling along
underneath it.

So...

The obvious question.

What on Earth is this thing?

Many people in South America
believe in small,
human-like creatures

like elves or gnomes
and they're known as duendes.

There's a specific goblin
named El Pombero.

Now, this little creature
can run on all fours

and sometimes
can go invisible, well,
pretty much whenever it wants.

That makes it really easy
to be mischievous.

The legend of El Pombero

may also explain
two additional sightings
in the area.

One near a construction site
in 2015.

Then another, two years later,
inside a restaurant.

And it's not just
in South America.

Right away, this little guy
fits a pattern of folklore
across the globe.

It could be a house spirit
or a domovoy
from eastern Europe.

The duende is very popular
in the Philippines, too.

I have a lot of family

who have encountered
duende themselves.

They really do take a liking
to children.

They're very playful,
kind of like tricksters

and they usually bring about
good luck,

but if you piss them off
or make them angry in any way

then they might turn on you
and cause you harm.

In that case,
if you find aduende
in your home,

perhaps it's best
to stay in their good graces.

But if you choose to go
on the offense,

play at your own risk.

I'm trying to trap it.
I am trying to figure out
how I can set a trap

and get it in a cage,
because I can't let it
take over my home.

It's me versus them.

And I have to win.

some believe that it can
tether a person's spirit to it

and in some cases,

cause that energy
to lash out.

I heard a noise behind me.

to read the comments
as we're going through it

Is my house haunted? Why?

I don't know.

Sometimes I get a feeling
there's something happening
in my house, but...

Household objects
being moved.

It doesn't seem
particularly eerie

or even
particularly meaningful
communicatively

but it's a way
of getting attention

that's accessible to something

that might not be able to,
like, pick up a pen

and start writing
ghostly letters like we see
in a movie.

After one of her viewers
fills her in

on what just happened...

What?

...Laura gets up
to check it out.

as an object
flies out of the cabinet
directly toward the camera.

It didn't seem like
a casual falling out
of an object.

It seemed like
whatever was in there
kind of flew straight out

with this trajectory
that didn't make sense

if it were just, like,
a loose object that fell over.

What was that?

But that's not all.

A cup inexplicably falls
off the top shelf.

I was definitely scared.

And when the second one
dropped too,
that's when I said, "I'm out.

I'm out." I got up and I left
and I think he ran after me.

What the...

I was looking at the chat,
seeing what was going on.

And then I heard stuff
flying behind me and something
hit me on the shoulder.

So I just started
running with it.

If something
strange starts happening
to you in your home,

my advice is to not freak out
right away.

One reason is because
if what you're dealing with
is malicious,

which is very rare,
they feed off your fear.

So your first response
should not be fear.

You are just going to
make things worse that way.

What the hell?

But when
Laura and Max
collect themselves,

they have a pretty
good guess...

Oh, my God, guys.

...as to who it might be.

We were talking
about my mother

and the funny thing is,
is if you look
right underneath my cabinet,

is where I've always kept
my mother's ashes.

She's in almost
all of my videos,
if I film from that angle,

so it was just
putting pieces together.

This video fits a pattern
of paranormal activity

insofar as people
have reported talking
about a loved one

who has passed on
and then experiencing strange
occurrence around them.

Almost as if that loved one
is making their presence
known,

to say hi, to provide comfort,

or maybe even stir up
a little bit of mischief.

The was that?

Even though
they are frightened
at the time,

if it is in fact Laura's mom,

they welcome her
with open arms.

At first I was sort of
shocked and scared

but after we sort of
thought about it for a while,

we realized it wasn't really,
like... it wasn't
such a bad thing.

I think about
the explanations
of talking about my mom

and my mom's ashes
under the counter

and it's comforting.

I don't feel
like it was bad.

I think that it's
a positive experience
in the end.

It feels calm and peaceful
and I'm okay with it.

Paranormal investigators
are used to venturing
into mysterious,

and sometimes dangerous
locations

in order to study
the paranormal.

But it takes
an especially brave explorer

to not just
visit the ghosts,

but live with them.

That's what one investigator
in Japan chose to do

when he moved into a house
that he had reason to believe
was haunted.

And it didn't take long
for those beliefs

to be confirmed.

As part of his popular
cat-themed YouTube channel,

a man films himself
casually caressing
his feline friend

when something strange
happens.

Watch behind the cat's head.

An open door
closes by itself,

clearly unnerving the man
filming his cat.

Soon after,

perhaps because
of this incident,

and other bizarre activity,

the man takes his cat

and moves out
of the house completely.

But after hearing stories
about the unusual events
in the home,

a paranormal researcher
named Meguro moves in,

hoping to investigate
the supernatural
goings on further.

And only weeks into his stay,
Meguro gets what he came for.

Late one night,
as he's going to bed,

listen closely.

A rhythmic knocking,

seemingly coming from
a nearby closet.

But as Meguro approaches
with phone in hand,

nothing.

Yet the knocking continues.

First from the now
open closet

and then

from a downstairs bathroom.

And still

no visible source for it.

This is consistent,
it's rhythmic,

and there appears to be
no decipherable origin

as to where the noise
is coming from.

It seems to be moving
around the house.

A week later,
around the same time of night,

whatever is in the house
with Meguro

kicks it up a notch,

as a security camera
films his bathroom.

as the bathroom door
not only closes,

but through its window,

a white, shadowy figure
seems to manifest

and then disappears.

We see this frosted
glass door

and you can see
this outline.

It just looks bright.

It looks almost like
what people would describe
seeing a spirit,

almost having this whiteness
or this glow to it.

It's obviously there.

Right on the other side.

And the fact that
whatever presence is there

would actually appear
as a figure in this space,

suggests that sort of
individual intelligence.

A theory reinforced
by what happens
only a couple of months later

in the same bathroom.

The mirror opens by itself

and then

the shower and sink faucet
go off at the same time,

which is significant,
because as Meguro
demonstrates...

We know that water
is a conduit to the spirits.

They're able to
kind of use that
to kind of move about.

It makes you wonder,
is that potentially
what it was doing?

Was it kind of
creating all of that water

for some other purpose,
using that as a conduit?

Impossible to say.

The only thing for certain

is that whatever it is
is preventing Meguro
from sleeping.

And regardless of his interest
in the activity,

something has to give.

In the West, when something
happens like this,
we blame a ghost,

maybe we blame a demon.

But in Japan,
it very well could be a yurei,

which is a spirit
who cannot rest
for some reason.

It's something that
they need to do,

something they need
to accomplish

there's a message
that needs to be delivered.

And for the most part,
that kind of sounds the same

as things we deal with
here at home.

But if this is a yurei,

it doesn't want him to sleep.
It's trying to get
his attention

with knocks, with raps.

So if Meguro
is too tired to continue
to deal with this yurei,

what should he do about it?

If this house is haunted
by a yurei, then it is said

that performing certain Shinto
or Buddhist rituals

will cleanse the location
of that angry spirit.

The only way
I think you can deal with this

is to deal with it
as if it was a person,
because that's what it is.

Deal with that person
as you would any other person

and ask them to please,
just leave me alone.

If that doesn't work,
you're going to have to
try something else.

Which is perhaps
the most important thing
for Meguro.

Trying something.

If you've identified
something like that,

you're going to continue
having this type of activity

and it's something
that could haunt you
for the rest of your life.

that are pivotal to America's
extraterrestrial history.

these west coast locations
are the most famous,

a lesser known hotspot
on the east coast
is just as impressive.

Namely Waterbury,
Connecticut,

where in 1916,
a Scoville factory guard

watched as a large,
mysterious craft
zipped through the sky,

vanishing as quickly
as it came.

Since then, the town has seen
countless planetary visitors

including glowing orbs,

small, organized fleets,

and this.

Oh, my God, look at it spinning.
Oh, my God.

Oh, my God,

Waterbury, Connecticut.

Christine Lyons
has stopped her car
on the side of the road

because something ahead
and way above
has caught her eye.

Two glowing lights
with more incoming.

They're too small to be a plane or a helicopter.
What are these things?

They're not a Chinese lantern,
they're nothing like that.

They're something, you know,
very specific

at some type
of a lower altitude,

but you really
can't make it out.

You start to get
more of them
coming in and out.

Then you're like, "Oh, okay."
These seem to have a certain
level of intelligence to them.

Sensing the objects
may be on their way
to disappearing,

Christine gets back in her car
and drives toward them

before they're
completely gone.

Whoa.

But as she
gets closer, the third light
begins to do something

that blows her mind.

Oh, my God.
Look at it spinning.
Oh, my God.

Oh, my God.
I'm catching a UFO right now.

My instinctive read
of this clip

is that we're seeing
some sort of craft,
an object.

But an object that moves
in a totally unexpected way.

Either by a whole different
set of laws of physics

or by some propulsion
or technology

that we do not
have access to
or knowledge of.

It was a movement that
I don't think I've ever seen
before in a clip like this.

The people
of Waterbury, however,
have seen it before.

Possibly for a long,
long time.

I spent some time
in nearby Hudson Valley,
New York

where a concentration
of sightings happened
in the 1980s

and Waterbury was a hotspot
during many of those years

and continues
even till today.

Some of the objects
that were seen were large,
blimp-like objects,

triangular formations,

and there's even photos
of circular craft

that had spinning lights
around the edges.

I always go back
to hearing about

the biblical stories about
the wheel within a wheel

that they were seeing
these things way back then.

And these were made
out of fire, out of light

and that's what we're
witnessing here.

Eventually,
the spiraling marvel
disappears.

There it goes,
it's fading out, look.

What the
am I witnessing?

All the other ones are gone.

There's no other ones.

There it goes, it's gone.

But Christine's
sighting adds to Waterbury's
vast UFO history.

This is one of
the best videos I've seen
of anything like this.

It's an amazing capture.
