We arrive at
the Minus Five Ice Bar.

And I'm just, like,
the Puerto Rican is

going to freeze to
death, everybody. 'Kay, cool.

Designers, I told you
that we were going to

the coldest
place in Manhattan.

And that's exactly where we
are, the Minus Five Ice Bar.

It's well below freezing

and the entire interior is
created out of carved ice.

So I don't want
anyone to get frostbite.

I want you to suit up.

Oh, my gosh.

-Okay, it's very cold.
-It's cold.

-Oh my gosh.
-Look at the chairs.

How they know
I was coming?

It's literally ice.

It's kind of cool
because everything

in there is
made of ice.

My model is Sanita.
I haven't had her yet.

She's very slim,
but she's kind of straight,

so I want to create the
coat to be kind of straight.

And I know that
I want a nice asymmetrical

color blocking, so I want
them to be a slash through it.

And I want it
to leave a very

lasting impression
on the judges.

Just thinking
of this winter coat

and canvas-y top
with faux fur lining.

I would love to
nail this high fashion.

Hello Meisha.
My model is Meisha

She is my favorite model.
My look is sort of

like winter in
New York City, so Paris.

I kind of wanted to give a
lot of detail in the shape.

So I was kind of thinking of
Meisha, what she would wear.

Because Meisha knows how to
make anything look beautiful.

Beautiful Liris. I'm going to
make a power outfit for Liris.

She's super executive.
She wants to look hot.

You know, she likes color.

Jasmine is my model.

I'm super excited
to work with her.

My plan for this
challenge is to make a really,

really awesome coat,
full collar, full sleeve,

front buttons,
snaps waist high.

I mean, we're going
all in for this jacket

and then a really nice blouse
and pants to go along with it.

It's a winter look. I want
the coat to be the highlight.

I really want to wow on the

a little risk with this one.

a wax cotton used

And to see it come
to life is beautiful.

because the concept that

I came up with versus
what I'm making now

a reversion of it.

challenge growing up in Utah.

We have very frigid winters.

So I really wanted
to put a lot of detail

and think about a
coat that, you know,

I would dream to have.
So I really like working

with materials that
can be manipulated.

Just trying to decide if I want
to do anything with the collar.

or if I wanna, like, possibly
bring, like, a hood onto it

or lean
a bit simple.

I was expecting to have to tell
you to push it more go further.

I wanted something
that's very bright.

I brought paint to

kind of paint down

The line was
intended to be harsh,

something kind of

on top of it to kind
of blend the two together.

I was thinking maybe splatters.

I mean, this has a
clean 60s vibe right now.

I want it to feel a

tell us about your look.

Coming from Utah.
I kind of, like, hung out

in Park City a lot,
so I took me back there.

I put a lot of work
in the details.

This wax cotton was
really hard to work with.

But I had a
vision right away

and it came out almost
exactly how I liked it to,

and I'm happy.

It's nice to see a winter
version of what you do.

It's not easy to play
with so much layering

and dimension. It feels
lux, it feels kind of street.

You know, there's
a lot of references in

there, and they all sit
together really effortlessly.

It's just very
exciting to watch you.

It's a beautiful, modern take
on something very traditional.

It's sexy, It's young,
unique and I love the colors.

I love that you chopped
a little hole in her beanie

and her hat and made
her hair come out.

Those little touches are
really cool. I loved it head--

not necessarily to toe,
because today it was snowing

and the toes were getting
a little cold on the runway.

But you seemed to enjoy this
challenge. Thank you, Brendan.

us about your look.

I wanted to do a coat
that feels like fur,

but it's wool.
And then the element

of surprise by having
the fur dress underneath.

It really works.

It actually looks
really good on her.

It cinches her
nicely at the waist.

And the coat is beautiful.

There's a timeless
chicness to a wrap coat.

This one looked
perfect on your model.

But most of all, when she
opened the coat and all of

a sudden, the surprise
effect was everything.

And that made me think
of you in another light.

When we were
at the Ice Bar,

all the fur made
me think rebel,

and then I started
to think outlaw.

And so I wanted to
create something that

had a very, like,
outlaw feel.

But at the same time,
she's on the go.

I like the fact that
you played with color

and you gave it, like, this
painterly fluorescent coat.

Everybody has a black coat,

but I don't think
many people have this coat.

Awesome.

The coat, I agree with Nina,
because I do have a black one

and I have a camel one. So I
would want to have that coat.

Can we have a look
at the piece underneath?

This, on the other hand,
I would not want to have.

It's a bit costume-y
it's a little childish.

I don't think it does
amazing things for the body.

I like the fact that you
get a two-in-one coat.

I like the proportions.
It's very pleasing to the eye.

Kenya, tell us
about your look?

Well, Tony called and said
she has some deals to close

and she was having
c*ck after work,

maybe a little networking.
So I created her a nice little

coat and a coordinated top
and a nice pair of pants to,

you know,
pull this together.

It's obviously,
you know, fun textile.

Her coat has some attitude.
To me, I'm not as sure about

with the styling of it.
I think you could have

brought it more
high fashion. You know,

I think the tailoring and the
fit on her is pretty excellent.

I mean, her legs look great.

The only issue with the
look is that the blouse to

the tweed to the pants
doesn't all sit together.

Legs for days.

Legs for days but her
torso is, like, super tiny.

This girl feels very
downtown, very cool.

She's way too cool
for the outfit underneath.

Okay.

And underneath is so
sophisticated and uptown,

it could have
done with something

-a little more classic.

Kentaro,
tell us about your look.

My inspiration
was very simple.

I just wanted to make
something nice for Meisha.

I wanted to make her happy.

We became such
good friends here.

So the inspiration
was your model?

Yeah.

Kentaro, I think you
did a wonderful job.

It looks very modern,
very sculptural.

The back is extraordinary.
Is it a short?

Yeah, short.

Lovely. I like the
way you styled her.

I like the leggings
that you used as boots.

I'm trying to understand how
you get into this jacket.

It's, like, completely
outside of my brain.

I have really enjoyed
this experience.

It's pushed me to
make women's clothes,

to my identity.

A lot of the looks
I thought could be

a collection and just
kind of develop itself.

It has been years
of struggle and sacrifice

it would make sense, all
the days that you sacrificed.

It would just mean everything
to be able to do that.
