Thinking shoes first.

They think, where are these

Shoes gonna take me today?

To a power meeting?

To a lunch?

Or a hot date?

The shoe will serve as the

Inspiration for your

Challenge, and your model will

Wear the shoe on the runway.

So we're gonna do something

Different today.

We're gonna do a fashion

Down the boot, I'm making a

Gold top, covering it all with

A cable sweater.

But I'm actually making the

Cable sweater out of white

Chiffon.

It's something I've never done
before.

I'm thinking, all right,

I'm gonna work off of this

Embellished toe.

I don't want to go, like, too
crazy.

I don't want to give it a hair

Metal vibe.

I'd rather it looks more red
carpet.

So I'm doing a 3/4 length

Little black dress with a

Capelet that's highly
embellished.

I feel like for these last

Challenges, I keep referring

Back to the same silhouette,

So I want to switch it up and

Do something completely

Different.

I plan on creating this jacket

Dress with volume around the
hips and in the sleeves.

I feel exhausted.

I put a lot of work into the

Dress that I made after going

Glamping.

And I was safe, but it still

Didn't feel very great.

But at least I love these

Shoes.

So I really just want to make

An outfit that I would wear
with them.

With plaid pants and a great

Red classic tartan.

First off, these are the

Shoes that I picked.

Yes, they're great.

I love them.

So the first thing that

Came to my mind was this coat

Dress that I'm--

It's a coat dress?

Yes.

It's gonna be fit, and this

Is gonna balloon out toward

The bottom.

Here's what concerns me.

It's looking dated.

It's all the other elements.

It's the zipper.

It's the volume.

It's the poofy shoulder that I

Think dates it.

Don't over-design it.

Well, this is a surprise.

I was drawn to the--you

Know, they're sort of leopard

Print.

Mm-hmm, glittery.

Sparkle.

If you just wore them with

Jeans and t-shirts or--i would

Dress these down if I were a

Young woman wearing them.

Dressed-down thing on the

chose.

I absolutely love it.

However, I wish I would have

Taken a little more time to

Perfect the construction and

The hem of the garment.

I think my outfit looks

Great with the shoes.

I think I designed a really

Sleek and minimal but loud, in

A way, design for these shoes.

Tuxedo flat shoe, and dressed

It with a circle skirt more

Reminiscent of, like, a swing

Dancer.

It looks like she could

Actually wear these clothes on

The street.

They're a little fancy.

They're a little shiny.

But you could also break them

Up and use them with other

Things.

This look is cool.

Her legs look awesome.

They're kicking out of these

Pants.

The shoes, I mean, your eye

Just goes through the whole

Look.

Those shoes are cray.

There's so much detail that

You can see the judges, like,

Looking from the front to the

I really like my look, and I
had fun with this one.

As a part of the whole outfit,

And I think the boots that I

Chose work very well with what

I chose the gladiator

Bondage shoe here, and I chose

To make a dress that was

Simple, a little understated.

I love those shoes.

And I think you did the

Perfect thing for these shoes.

I love that this dress is very

Whimsical, and it's very

Feminine.

I mean, it is wowza, super
sexy.

Shoes can be a very

Powerful and intoxicating

Accessory.

These are those shoes.

Personally, I'm really not

A fan of the gladiator boots

That are in front of me, but I

Think I get the sort of

Nightgown girl with the

Gladiator boot that walks down
the streets of soho.

It just doesn't wow me.

It's a very complementary

Look to a stellar pair of shoes.

I like that you added your own

Touch with the lace and the

Cutout neckline, but at the

End of the day, this look is

About the shoes.

It's so bold, and it shows

Confidence in yourself that

You were able to be very

Subtle with the dress, and yet

It makes such a huge statement.

And I love the little feminine

Detail at the top.

I think it's just so pretty

And sweet, which, like--but

The shoes are so hard, so it

Is beautifully put together.

Was the pair that I was going
for.

So I've got two tubular

Miniskirts here and then a

Gold sequined camisole top.

But really, the statement

Piece for me is the silk

Chiffon mock argyle sweater.

Once you have this pretty

Woman boot, you have to be

Very careful, you know,

Because you can go the pretty

Woman route.

I just think it does not look

Current or modern to me.

Yeah, I think, because the

Boots are so sexy and they're

Such a statement, that it's all

Just a little much.

Like, I could maybe see that

With some jeans or something,

But it just feels, just a lot

Going on, and it's tough to

Pair with those shoes.

You have these very strong,

Rock and roll, edgy boots.

This should have been something

Cool, something rocker.

Maybe it was a pair of pants

Underneath.

Maybe it was a little black

Dress.

I mean, simple.

See those come together so

I thought I didn't want to

Overwhelm the shoe with

Something totally just studded

And overwhelming.

I just wanted to play with

Making a really beautifully

Fitted black dress.

So I challenged myself to make

Something that was more

Refined and just tailored

Because I haven't really

Dabbled in that in this

Competition.

When this walked out, I was

Like, ah!

I want that look.

Yes!

There's something very

Minimal and classic about your

Look that almost all of these

Shoes could work.

It looked great.

I was very impressed.

As soon as I walked into

The room, these are the shoes

I wanted, so I thought it

Would be really special to

Pull a tartan pant into it and

Kind of find something that

Had the red and maybe a little

Gold, and then I really wanted

To do a white leather jacket

To kind of tie in the sheen of

The shoe.

So I just kind of wanted to do

Something a little more fun,

Maybe a little more rock and

Roll, and have fun with it.

I didn't particularly like

This look, I have to tell you.

She does not look like a cool

Girl to me at all.

I sort of like that it's nerd
alert.

I want to dress a girl like
me.

I'm not very cool, so I kind

Of just wanted to do something

That's really me.

I just don't think it's

Maybe kooky enough.

Okay.

That's my criticism for you,

Is that when it's on the

Runway, you have to take that

Sort of offbeat quality and

Translate it a little bit more.

The whole look to me feels

Very christmas, very retro,

Swing dancing, happy days, so

For me, it went immediately

Of flat shoes, but I think

I almost wish I would have
