I've been writing this articleall
morning, and I'm still nowhere.

And it's supposed
to be about cats.

Problem is, I don't know
anythingabout cats. Do you?

-The article is due
today.-[Sprocket whining]

How am I gonna find outweird
things about cats quickly?

-[whining]-I know.

I'll borrow Fluffinella,
Shimmelfinney's cat.

Oh, just a minute, Sprockie.

-Hello, Ned?-[groans]

Listen, I'm doinga
little research on cats

and wondered if I could
borrow Fluffinellafor a while.

Yeah? Great.

-[chuckles]-[whines]

-[barking,
meowing]-Okay, Sprocket.

I admit, Fluffinella's
a bit wild at times,

but it's not a big
problem, now, is it?

-[retching]-[knocks]

That must be Ned,
with Fluffinella.

-[Sprocket
yelps]-Well, look at that.

-[screeching]-[yelping]

Well, contrary to popular
belief, cats are not afraid of dogs.

-[Fluffinella
snarling]-[Sprocket groaning]

[snoring]

[snorts, gasps]

It's today.

Oh.

I've gotta get out of
herebefore it's too late.

Oh, I hate Joke Day.

[groans]

You have to be sillyand
tell jokes all day long.

Oh, why did Red volunteer me

to deliver the traditional
medleyof knock-knock jokes?

[sighs]

I'd have to be silly
in front of everyone.

Well, there's only
one thing left to do.

[grunts]

[whimpering]

[panting]

Ah, good. Nobody's around.

Now, if I just sneak away, I...
- Whoa!-Ooh.

Hey, watch where you're goin'.

You know, you Fraggles
are a real nuisance.

Always running around,
barging into things.

It's a Doozer.

Good eyes.

Oh, please leave me alone.
Can't you see I'm trying to escape?

If I stay, I'll have to tellknock-knock
jokes in front of everybody.

-[engine sputters]-Yeah, but
you dislodged my crankshaft.

-[gurgling]-I think.

coming. It's starting.

starting. [whimpers]

[gurgling]

That doesn't sound
like Fraggles to me.

[Boober] How would you know? All
sortsof weird things happen on Joke Day.

But that is weirder than most.

[Cotterpin] Now
that is not a joke.

-Look!-[rumbling]

[shudders]

Oh. Oh. What is it?

I don't know, but you're
right. It's not a joke.

-Whoa!-Whoa! Help!

[upbeat music playing]

Hey, everybody, it's Joke Day.

-Ooh, I love Joke Day.-Hey, hey.

♪ What's black and
whiteAnd talks all night ♪

♪ And it likes to
barkAnd it loves to bite ♪

♪ And when it sees a
necklt takes a chew? ♪

-What? What?-What? What?

♪ Well, I don't have a clue ♪

-Why'd you ask?-[chuckles]

-[all laughing]-Oh,
no, let me out of here.

Uh, let's see. What do you...

sitting in the Great Hall.

- [panting]-Uh...

Jokes have to be funny.

Yeah, yeah. Like, why did
the radish kiss the banana?

-Yeah.-That's funny.

Wembley, I'm not kidding
you. This thing is serious.

It's in the Great Hall, and
it's glowing, and it's scary.

[screaming]

Oh, no, you don't.

-You're not gonna run away,
Boober.-[stammering] But...

-Fellas!-Wembley.

[gasps]-Why did the
radish kiss the banana?

[all whimpering]

It's huge and round.

And glowing.

And in the Great Hall.

It's not a joke.

I told you, it's horrible.

We've gotta cancel Joke
Dayand get out of here.

[screaming]

Just because you say it's
horrible, doesn't mean it is.

It probably means it isn't.

-But... Look at it.
It's just sitting there.

It's nothing but a, uh...
Uh, nothing... but a glob.

But I tell you, it rolled in
here making a horrible noise.

Yes, going... [gurgling]

Well, doesn't look likeit
could do much of anything.

Gee, I think it's
quite beautiful.

-[gurgles]-Hey, wait
a minute. It's bouncy.

-[all] Bouncy?-Yeah!

[whooping]

-Ah!-[giggling]

It's a bouncy glob!

[Wembley] This
is fun! [chuckles]

Ooh, speaking of jokes, why

-[panting]-Why?

Oh, I forgot again.

-[Red whooping]-[Gobo] Come on.

It's time to bring outthe
whoopee cushions.

Oh, yes. I wonderif my
fake nose has dried up.

[whooping] Whoa.

Well, I've got a great fish
joke, but it needs a costume.

-[all cheering and whooping]-Oh,

If this glob isn't reason enoughto

But I've gotta get out of here, or
they'll make me tell knock-knock jokes.

[Doozer, muffled]

Doozer, you tell her. I...

I could've sworn there wasa
Doozer here a minute ago. Uh...

Um, uh... Did you just,
uh... Nah, you couldn't have.

Day. I'm just seeing things.

[Glob belches]

[gurgles]

Well, I'm all ready
to tell my fish joke.

Hmm. And I'm all ready to read my
postcardfrom Uncle Travelling Matt.

-[Red groans]-[clears throat]

"Dear Nephew Gobo..."

[Matt] As I've probably
already told you,

some of the Silly
Creatureshere in Outer Space

live in large caves
called houses.

But unlike our nice, undemanding
cavesin Fraggle Rock,

these houses must be fed.

Every morning, a house-feeder,
with special house food,

goes around feeding the houses.

On one particular
morning, however,

the house-feeder missedone
of the houses' mouths.

[scoffs]

Why, that poor
creature could starve.

Naturally, I did the
brave and selfless thing.

I picked up the food... Hmm.

And fed it to the house myself.

Don't worry, little housie, Uncle
Matty-Watt wouldn't let you starve.

It was a courageous
thing to do, I admit.

Boom. Ha!

[screams]

[grunting]

[groaning]

Selflessness has
its own rewards.

[sighs]

"Love, your Uncle
Travelling Matt."

-Wow!-Ah.

Boy, my Uncle Travelling Matt doesn't
knowthe meaning of the word "fear."

[giggles] Oh.

Well, uh, Boober, have you
seen Drillbit around here?

Uh, purple helmet,
about my size, bit fatter.

You Doozers all look alike anyway.

Day will be upon me.

-[belching]-[gasps]

[clicks tongue] Now what?

[gasps]

The glob... it ate my friends.

Hey, Gobo, you're so slow, you'd
come in second if you ran a bath.

[all laughing] [all laughing]

I'm sorry. It's Joke Day.
I gotta go. See you later.

-But, Boober... [Gobo]
Hey, Boober. Tell us a joke.

-You see? They need me.-Yeah,
but... but what about me?

That thing could eat
me at any second.

Well, uh, uh... I can't
get involved. No time.

-[Red] Boober.-Coming.

-[laughing]-Hey,

-[whimpers]-I've got corn
growing out of my ears.

How did that happen?

Beats me. I planted radishes.

[laughing]

That was very funny.

Ooh, ooh. I saw a new
Doozer way the other day.

Really? What's a Doozer way?

I don't know. I
never weighed one!

[laughing]

Hey, come on, everybody. It's
time for my riddle reading. Come on.

-This way!-Yeah.

And then it'll be time for your

-[laughs]-All right.

get out of here. [sighs]

You've got to stay away from this glob.

Just because the Fraggles bounce on it,
doesn't mean we Doozers have to stay away.

-[groans]-Really, Cotterpin.

-Sometimes you can be... [gasps]

[spits]

[Wingnut] Get me out of here.

Oh, that does it.

[screams]

-[groaning]-[Cotterpin]
Boober. Boober!

That glob just globbedup
my mother. I saw it.

[groans] Tell me
this isn't happening.

Boober? Boober, we've
gotta do something now!

Well, why would the
glob eat your mother?

Well, I don't know.
He was hungry...

Oh, you Fraggles are no help.

Oh, Mother. Mother,

[sighs] I should've known
betterthan to stop and talk to a Doozer.

I am not a Doozer.

I'm Cotterpin, okay?

Yeah, well, if I had justkept on
running away in the first place,

none of this would've happened.

-[gasps]-[Cotterpin groaning]

[Cotterpin, muffled] Help!

I don't believe it. The
glob just ate Cotterpin.

[moaning]

[clattering]

[Cotterpin]Well, at least
he remembered my name.

[belches]

-[yowling]-[yelping]

The vocalizations of the mature female
catare what you might call high-pitched.

[chuckles] Oh, Sprocket,

I'm really glad I thought of
the ideaof observing Fluffinella.

I'll be able to write the
article now. No problem.

-[yelping]-[screeching]

-Cats can leap several
meters in the air.-[barking]

-What's that?-[snarling]

Fluffinella tried to k*ll you?

Oh, come on, Sprocket,
this is no time for jokes.

[murmurs]

Well, don't worry,
Sprocket. I'll save you.

-[screams]-[screeches]

Sprocket, cats have
very sharp teeth.

[Doc] Oh! Here,

[groaning]

Doozer, can you hear me?

[all laughing]

You know, this is kind of fun.

-[Cotterpin] Who's
there?-Uh, arch.

-[Cotterpin] Arch who?-Aren't
you catching a cold?

[all laughing]

- Knock, knock.-[Cotterpin] Who's there?

-Oscar.-[Cotterpin] Oscar who?

Oscar silly question,
get a silly answer.

[all laughing]

-[Boober] Knock,
knock.-Who's there?

-Freddie.-[Cotterpin]
Freddie who?

Freddie or not, here you come.

[guffawing]

[screaming]

Oh, my head. [groans]

[cheering, whooping]

The glob is leaving.

Laughing its wayright
out of the Great Hall.

-Yeah.-[glob laughs]
"Freddie or not."

That was a good one.

[laughter continues]

[cheering]

-Boober,
congratulations!-Aw, yeah.

-You saved the Doozers.-Yeah.

-[all] Yay!-You
saved us, Cotterpin.

-Cotterpin, you did it.
You saved us.-Yeah.

Cotterpin, you were right.

Trust the silly Fragglesto
have a glob that eats Doozers.

[all sighing] Why, Wembley?

Because it had a
peel. Get it? "Appeal."

-[laughing]-Banana, a peel.

[clamoring]

-[Wembley] Yeah,
a banana.-[chuckles]

[sighs]

-[vehicle approaches]-[Cotterpin]
Hey, Boober.

I... I just wanted

I tried to run away.

I was worried only about myself.

As usual.
