and right across the street

at the new bed-and-breakfast.

They want a manager.
You know, we could use the money.

You could come and visit me.

You might even get to see Marigold,
the nice dog that lives there.

Well, it's almost time for my interview.

Oh, no, I can't go like this, Sprocket.
I have to dress up.

People have got to believe
I'm dependable, reliable,

an asset to the community.

Ah, there's my cuff links.
Now, where did I put my new tie?

-[barking]
-No, no, I'm looking for a tie, Sprocket,

not a screwdriver. Huh?

Oh.

I think this is the more impressive,
don't you?

Well, now I better go and get ready.

[Wrench]
To whom it may concern, if anyone.

My name is Wrench Doozer,
and 'm an outcast.

My life is miserable.

I'm writing this so at least someone knows
my side of the story.

It all started on a normal day.

I was on my way back
through the Doozer Dome

to pick up some more rivets
for our new construction

when I ran into a terrible commotion.

It was right where they were repairing
the giant columns that support the Dome.

We've got to get him out of there.
He's destroyed some of the supports.

Remove Socket Doozer from site at once.

Disgraceful.

What's wrong with him?

-He's got hiccups.
Oh.

Hiccups.
-He must be dismissed.

Dismissed? What's going on?

There is nothing worse than hiccups.

Hiccups. But why, what do they do to you?

They make you dizzy,
and you hop all over the place

and you don't know what you're doing.

In short, you can't work.
Hiccups are dangerous.

And for a delicate job like this,
they're positively disastrous.

Disastrous. Well, how do you
get hiccups, anyway?

I'd rather not discuss it.

[hiccups]

-[Doozer 1] Will he be okay?
-[Doozer 2] I don't know.

What happened?

Hey, Wrench.

You really want to know
what causes the hiccups?

Well, sure. Don't you?

No, because I know already.

You do? Well, come on, Cotterpin, tell.

Um...

What'll you give me?

Well, uh... Um...

-['I let you try my new ratchet drill.
-It's a deal.

Now, listen to this.

Hiccups are caused
by bouncing up and down.

But Doozers never bounce up and down.

Well, that's because
it gives them the hiccups.

Oh.

Now, | don't know all the gory details,
but from what I've heard,

bouncing up and down
makes your insides jiggle.

-Jiggle?
-Yeah.

First, they hit the bottom, they go "hic,"
they hit the top, they go "cup.”

Hic-cup.

Gruesome, isn't it?

Boy, I'll say.

Well, now you know. Uh, I'll pick up
the drill after the last shift.

-Gotta 90 find the Architect. Bye.
-Hmm.

I don't have a drill.

[Wrench] The hiccups sounded
really, really horrible.

I didn't think about them
much at the time.

I was foo excited about Tower Team F.


was on the same tower team as Turbo,

he was the leader
and one of the greatest Doozers around.

[whistle blares]

But when the whistle blew
fo end our shift,

our fives changed,
and I don't mean for the better.

Tower Team F.

The Architect needs an ace support squad

to work on the columns
that support the Dome.

I just got the word.

He wants your team to do the job.

-My team?
-That's what I said.

Tower Team F
is now officially Support Squad A.

Wow! That's great, huh.

Wow! The Architect chose us.

Of course he did. And you know why?

Uh, because we're a good team.

No, no, no, no.

Because you, me, Tweezer,
and Scoop here, we're rev!

Yeah, that's why. [chuckles]

Rev?

We are? I am? Me, rev?

I When the others are all stoppin'!

I But you gotta reach the top 'n'?

-Are you joking? Rivets aren't rev.
-Yeah.

Yeah, yeah, joking. Rivets, get it?

[laughs] Well, let's go now.

-It's much more fun to spy on Fraggles.
-Right.

But spying on Fraggles is dangerous.

Dangerous? Support Squad A
doesn't worry about dangerous.

Oh, oh. Uh, right. Of course not.

-Hide.
- I forgot.

Hide! Whoa!

[Mokey] Okay, Wembley,
imagine you could make

anything at all happen right now.
What would it be?

Well, I'd get everybody to leap stick.

Oh, come on, Wembley,
we did that all day yesterday.

I know, but I'm just getting good at it.

Which is more than I can say for you, Red.

-[laughs]
-Oh, very funny, Gobo.

Hey, come on! Whoo-hoo! Let's leap stick!

Wow! Did you see that green Fraggle?

Yeah, A real bearing brain.

What? Are you joking?

He's a rare specimen, a phenomenon.
He's a rev Fraggle!

Yeah, that's right. Rev, yeah.

Yeah, I was joking. Be a ring brain, get it?

Oh, that flooping he was doing
looks really rev.

Rev, yeah.

Flooping.

Everyone knows that in order o be rev,
you have to think rev, talk rev, act rev.

But I wasn't prepared
for what happened next.

Turbo had found a new and dreadful use
for our hydraulic tampers.

[Turbo] So who's
the revest squad around? We are!

[others] We are!

And what's the revest thing
for the revest squad to do?

-Flooping.
-Flooping, yeah.

Uh, flooping?

Ya-haa! Whoo-hoo!

Is that flooping?

Yeah, it's easy.
You just bounce up and down.

Bounce up and down.

Bounce up and down?

Yeah, just stand on your tamper
and bounce.

-It's really rev.
Rev.

But, Turbo, bouncing up and down
gives Doozers the hiccups.

Oh, yeah? Support Squad A
does not worry about hiccups.

[other Doozers] Yeah.

-But hiccups are dangerous.
{Turbo] So?

Support Squad A
does not worry about dangerous.

Yeah.

Well, what do we worry about?

-Nothing.
Nothing.

Nothing?

[Wrench] Well, I was worried about plenty,

and flooping was at the top of the fist,
right next to the hiccups.

I decided /'d have fo use
the direct approach.

Turbo, I will not floop.

That's what I had to say.

-Turbo!
-Whoa-h*! Flooping sure is rev.

But you gotta floop to be rev
and you gotta be rev to floop.

Right, Wrench?

-Well, uh...
[Turbo] Right, Wrench?

[sighs] Well... Uh...

Sure. Right, Turbo.

Right.

The next thing I knew, I was flooping.

Well, how do I look?

[gasps] Woo!

If I didn't want this job so much,
I wouldn't do this.

I do not like dressing up.

I like to impress people
with my intelligence,

and unique talents,
not with my shiny shoes.

Well, it's time for me to go now.

Barks]
What? Oh.

Wish me luck.

[woofs]

For one wild moment, I even forgot
about the hiccups until...

[chuckles] Yeah.

Hey, Wrench, what's wrong?

Don't tell me you've got hiccups.

[hiccups]

You got hiccups.

-Stay away from him!
-Oh, no.

[ Told you, Turbo. I told you
flooping would give us the hiccups.

It didn't give us the hiccups,
it gave you the hiccups.

-[hiccups]
-[whistle blares]

Oh, no! It's time for our briefing.

The Architect will be down here
any minute.

-Uh, Wrench, you got to get out of here.
-Where should [ go?

As far away as possible.

Far away. [hiccups] Far away.

[hiccups]

My insides are jiggling up and down.

[hiccups]

Oh, help. I'm dizzy.

I can hardly see.

[sniffing] I can't smell.

I'm slipping... I'm slipping away.

-Oh, hello, Wrench. How's it going?
-Stay away from me.

Well, gee, that's a nice way to greet
your oldest friend.

Say, what's wrong with you, anyhow?

Nothing. Nothing. Just go away. [sighs]

You're not in any kind of trouble,
are you?

Nah.

You never get into any trouble.

Is that so?

Well, let me tell you something,
Miss Know-it-all Doozer.

My life is hanging by a thread.

-I've got the hiccups.
-You do?

Wow!

Ooh, ooh! What does it feel like?

It feels awful. Just stay away.

Oh, come on, let me hear one.

I've never heard a hiccup up close.

Well, okay, if you really want to--
-Yeah, yeah.

-But be prepared. It's gruesome.
Okay.

[grunting]

Well, just wait a minute. Don't rush me.

Wrench, you do not have the hiccups.

Aw, come on,
you're late for your briefing.

It's a miracle. I'm cured.

[Architect] After tamping the foundations,
you will tackle the supports.

-Turbo!
{Architect] As you can see—-

What are you doing here?

It's all right, the hiccups went away.

-Are you sure?
-Listen, I almost died back there.

Shh...

So we're not gonna floop anymore, right?

Please tell me

-[Architect] Wrench! Wrench Doozer!
-Huh?

Well... mean, yes. Yes, sir?

What did I just say?

Uh...

Um... You said, "Wrench.
Wrench Doozer, what did I just say?"

[Architect] No! I mean, before that.

Oh... Um...

I don't know.

Well, it is imperative that you pay
very close attention during briefings,

especially this one.

I'm soy, sir.

Okay. Support Squad A,
the glue detail is mixing

-the fortifying mucilage.
-Mucilage.

-Once it's done, there's no time to lose.
-Lose.

-Your job starts on the next whistle.
Whistle.

Whistle. Cut that out!

Wrench, take copies of these plans
and study them until you know every rivet.

Right, sir.

And when you're finished with that
come back and have a floop.

But, but, I...

[sighs] What now?

It was no use.

Turbo wasn't gonna listen to me.
Why should he?

He was too rev to get hiccups.

! tried to tell myself that maybe
flooping hadn't caused them.

Maybe flooping wasn't so bad after all.

But ! didn't believe it.

Just then, I saw something
blocking the road.

It's got writing on it.

"Dear Nephew Gobo..."

[Matt] As you know, I try to blend
into this strange world

as best I can.

The other day, I noticed a group
of silly creatures forming a long fine

for no apparent reason.

As it seemed to be the thing to do,


I didn't have the faintest idea
what the line was for.

When the silly creatures moved, I moved.

When I realized these silly creatures
were climbing into a large moving beast,

I decided I could no longer participate.

Help! We're all being eaten!

We're being eaten. Let me out of here!

[grunts]

Unfortunately,
the beast was very persistent,

but I managed to escape with dignity.

Hey, that was my best jacket.

Now I know that just because
these silly creatures are doing something,

doesn't mean I have to do it, too.

[Wrench]
"Love, your Uncle Traveling Matt."

[scoffs] What was all that about?

The only part I understand
is where it says,

"Just because everyone else
is doing something,

doesn't mean you have to do it, too."

Hmm. That makes sense.

Lots of sense.

Hello, Wrench, old bolt.
Your floopstick awaits.

Turbo, | refuse to floop.

Come again?

[sighs] If we floop,
we'll all get hiccups.

We'll ruin everything.

We've gotta stop flooping
before it's too late.

[Turbo sighs]

Wait a minute. What are you doing?

I'm flooping. And why? Because I'm rev,
which is more than I can say for you.

Now, this is your last chance.
Are you with us or not?

[Wrench sighs]

Not.
{Turbo grunts]

Well, Sprocket, I didn't get the job.

The woman who owns the place
says I was probably overqualified.

{whines]
-She said, from the way I looked,

I probably wouldn't like doing
any of the dirty work around the place,

work like plumbing.

I told her as nicely as possible
that I adore plumbing.

I really do.

And then, do you know what she said?

She said I was probably too nice.

Imagine, me nice.

You know what I'm going to do, Sprocket?

I'm gonna go back there
and give that woman a piece of my mind.

[barks]

[Wrench] So, that's my story.

Now I am alone,
and there's nothing I can do about if.

Well, that's it.

[whistle blaring]

The whistle.

Time for Support Squad A
to report for work,

and that means me.

I wish I didn't have to go.

Support Squad A,
prepare to commence tamping.

Verify foundations!

-[Scoop hiccups]
-Scoop Doozer, what are you doing?

-What's wrong with you?
-Leave me alone. [hiccups]

Scoop, was that a hiccup?

Leave me alone, I said. [hiccups]

Scoop Doozer, you've got hiccups!

-Hey, what's going on over there?
-Uh, nothing.

-He's got hiccups.
-Tell Wrench we're ignoring him.

You can't ignore the hiccups, Turbo.
Scoop has 'em.

-[Scoop hiccups]
-You could be next, and then...

Support Squad A, are preparations
on foundations complete?

-Uh, affirmative.
-[Scoop hiccups]

What did you say?

[stammers] Uh, I said, "Affirmative!"

-Hiccups]
-Oh, no!

Oh, all right, then.
Commence tamping foundations.

Turbo, you can't,

If you start tamping now,
'I report you to the Architect.

And tell him we've been flooping?

And don't forget, you were flooping, too.

{Scoop hiccups]
-But...

Hey, what's going on down there?

Support Squad A, report your progress.

Squad leader Turbo reporting.
Wrench Doozer is obstructing construction.



What course of action do you suggest?

Uh, request permission to dismiss
Wrench Doozer from squad.

What? You can't do that!

-But, Turbo--
-[Turbo hiccups]

Permission granted.

I just did. [hiccups]

Wrench Doozer, abandon site.
Now, move it! [hiccups]

[Wrench] But, Turbo,
your hiccups are getting worse.

You can't work like that.
You're going to have an accident.

[hiccuping]

Stop!

[hiccuping]

Turbo, get back! Look out!

-And so it becomes perfectly clear--
-[rumbling]

“Whoa!
-Hey, what is it? Hey!

[Doozers exclaiming]

Look out!

-Oh, my... gracious!
-Oh, no!

[horn blaring]

Turbo!

Turbo, Turbo, are you okay?
This s terrible.

-Wrench?
-Yeah.

Get me out of here.

[Turbo hiccuping]

Oh, Turbo, Turbo.

Turbo.

[Wrench grunting] Turbo.

You mean to say the entire squad
has the hiccups?

Uh, no, sir. Wrench is fine, sir.

He was right all along.

We should have listened to him. [hiccups]

Oh, here they come!

Hi.

It's nice that you even talk to me,
seeing that I was really mean to you.

Mean? Are you joking?
You were absolutely rotten.

Yeah, I was joking.

Mean, get it? [laughing]

Seriously, thanks.

So, you guys going back to work?

Yep. We're finishing up the supports.
The rivets are particularly interesting.

You know, Wrench, you don't think rev,

you don't talk rev, you don't act rev,
you don't even look rev.

I know, Turbo.

But if being rev means being like you,
then Wrench doesn't worry about rev.

And don't try to say anything

because I'm not interested
in what you think.

-Oh, you're not, huh?
-No.

Not even if I think you're right?

Not even if I think what you did under
the Dome was the revest thing ever, huh?

Well, uh...

-Friends?

-[chuckles]

Sprocket! Guess what?

I got the job.

Yes, it wasn't until I gave
that Ms. Ardath a firm talking-to

that she knew I was the perfect person
to manage the new bed-and-breakfast.

I was wasting my time
trying to impress her by dressing up.

She wasn't interested in how I looked,
she was interested in who I am.

Well, she'll just have to take me
as I am, right, Sprocket?
