Right now,
I'm just coming
to see a friend of mine,
just talk to him
about my water license issues,
and see if he's got
any advice.
Rick Ness is facing
an uncertain future.
He's on the brink
of buying out
his claim at Dominion Creek.
But with his water license
expiring at the end
of this season,
he may not be able
to mine it next year.
What's up, Rick?
- Good to see you.
Nice spot.
- Good to see you, too.
How are things in Keno?
Yeah, I've got a good crew.
I've got good equipment.
But my water license
is up after this year,
and they're saying
that it won't be ready
by April of next year.
It's not unique to you.
A lot of people
are having these problems.
I will fully admit,
I am not super knowledgeable
about it, you know?
I mean, like,
I'm still learning that side
of things, and...
But, like...
- the whole business
depends on it, right?
- Yeah, I know.
You just have to decide
what you can do,
- and what you want to do...
- Yeah.
...and how to start to lean
into your shortcomings,
- instead of... hide away
from them, right?
- Yeah.
I'm a grown man.
I've made a lot
of bad decisions,
a lot of great,
good decisions.
I've made a lot of decisions
I'm not proud of,
but I [bleep] made them.
- I'm cannot run from them.
- Yeah.
Last year. I spent all year
just being grateful
that I had another chance.
You know, ironically,
my last payment
is this year, right?
I'm sure not ready to...
and pack it in...
right after I make
the final payment
on the place...
- Right.
- ...just 'cause
there's no water license.
If it happened to me,
I would be doing
everything I could
to have a huge season
this year.
So that definitely
puts a lot of pressure
- on this season, right?
- Yep.
Nobody is as invested in it
as you,
and that's the sad truth.
But at the end of the day...
- That's the way it is.
- You're right. Yep.
I know that it feels like
a massive mountain to hurdle,
but you're a survivor, Rick.
- I told you that, like,
five [bleep] years ago.
- I know.
I know.
All right.
I have to go to this meeting.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- It's really good to see you.
- You, too.
I just had a chat with Parker
about the water license.
Yeah, he is right.
It is my livelihood
on the line,
and, uh, no one's gonna
fight harder for it than me.
You know, I've got
a lot of gold to get.
Right now, my future
is not guaranteed.
And if this year turns out
to be our last chance
to get as much gold as we can
out of Duncan Creek,
then that's what we're gonna
have to do, you know,
we need to get at least
hopefully a hell
of a lot more.
No matter what,
at the end of the day, though,
for this year, I'm all in.
Hey, man, we're almost down
with that Rally Valley dirt.
So you know how
good it's been.
Make sure you get
every last bit.
Out.
Back at Duncan Creek,
Rick is on the brink
of a massive payday,
sluicing the last piles
of pay dirt
to come out of the richest pit
he's ever mined,
Rally Valley.
In just two weeks,
it's already delivered
nearly 500 ounces of gold,
worth $1.25 million.
In northern
Rally Valley, you know,
I mean, that's been the stuff
I've been looking for
since I came to this ground.
That was jackpot.
Unfortunately, it's coming
to an end.
Yeah, we've got, you know,
about a week's worth
of pay left.
Now is time
to do something else
that, uh, Rick's got in mind,
as long as we can do it quick,
because Monster Red
chews through dirt
pretty [bleep] quick.
So, uh, this pile will be gone
before you know it.
After Rick taps out
Rally Valley,
he needs a new spot
to keep the gold coming in.
And the plan
is to move over,
back over to the Bench,
which we started last year.
Uh, Buzz is heading up there
right now.
Rick's master plan
to smash through
his season goal,
head half a mile north
of Rally Valley,
across the creek,
to the Bench Cut
with it's easy-to-access gold.
Last season,
in just five weeks,
he hauled 450 ounces of gold
out of the seven-acre cut.
Now, he wants to start
digging the pay
out of a five-acre extension
they stripped last year.
Foreman Buzz Legault
needs to stockpile
Bench Cut pay
next to Rick's
second wash plant, Rocky,
ready to run
as soon as Rally Valley's
pay pile ends.
me.
We stripped this last year.
How is this still frozen?
Over winter,
the Bench Cut was exposed
to sub-zero temperatures.
The ground is frozen solid.
Rick has
massively miscalculated
how long it would take
to thaw.
This is a disaster.
I mean, I don't have
a second option.
I have to come up
with something.
And, uh, right now,
I have no [bleep] clue
what it is.
We've dived
into this property...
just headfirst,
and in a massive way
and are spending, you know,
way more money
than we ever have,
with the least amount
of income.
Eight weeks
into the season,
Parker Schnabel
is hemorrhaging
millions of dollars
on two huge cuts
at Dominion Creek,
but so far,
with little reward,
just 576 ounces...
of his 10,000-ounce goal.
But right now,
the sleuthing we're doing
is not even
covering our costs.
So... the sinkhole
continues to grow.
Parker is now
at the point
where he needs at least
just to keep going.
I mean, as grim
as things are right now,
I don't feel like
we've totally lost the season.
Not yet.
Despite the troubles
that we're having,
it is exciting.
And we'll just take it
one day at a time,
and... try to not forget...
the big picture.
We just got to focus
on that right now.
One step at a time.
Parker's throwing
everything he's got
at mining two enormous cuts
on his 7,500-acre
Dominion claim.
In the 20-acre Long Cut,
wash plant, Roxanne,
is churning
through 250 yards
of pay an hour.
Two miles away,
Big Red is sluicing
top gravels
in the 114-acre Bridge Cut.
Ten miles southwest,
at Ken and Stuart's,
Parker's skeleton crew
is three quarters
of the way through
stripping an eight-acre cut.
We have Mitch in the Long Cut,
Tyson and the Bridge Cut,
Damien down
at Ken and Stuart's.
It's a really good group.
If we just move as much dirt
as cheap as possible
as we can every day,
then, um...
things will be okay...
I think.
Parker's saying,
"Keep sluicing."
And each day that is
getting tougher and tougher.
We were really hoping,
by this time in the season,
that the Long Cut
would be all thawed out.
We've been fighting it
from day one here.
This is the middle of summer,
and we're just still
fighting frozen paydirt.
All the permafrost
in this cut,
there's so much ice in it.
As it's melting,
well, obviously,
it turns to water,
and then, you know,
it just saturates the dirt.
I [bleep] hate...
cream mushroom soup.
But it's the soup
we're feeding to the plant
right now.
hate it more.
In the Long Cut,
Evan Kurtz,
is struggling to feed
wash plant, Roxanne,
with wet, sloppy material.
We do not like...
this soup.
It just...
stacks on top
of the grizzlies,
and makes your life
a living hell.
It just doesn't want to go
through, man.
Ha, ha, ha!
Hey, uh, Mitch?
You got a copy, Mitch?
Yeah, go ahead.
We got, uh, [bleep] up
on the belt.
You've got
to be kidding me.
Yeah, just shut it down.
Shut it down.
Evan's got an issue
with the plant right now!
So we just wanna
get it shut down!
Oh, man!
That is not good.
Roxanne's
feeder conveyor is jammed.
And Mitch has also found
a tear in the belt.
This will act
just like a zipper.
If this gets caught
on anything,
it'll just rip
the belt right open.
We're gonna need to get
Alec down here,
get Liam down here,
everybody we can,
and get this thing fixed up
as fast as possible.
Every hour
the plant's not running,
pushes Parker further
into the red.
We've got to figure out
what caused this,
so we don't have
any more problems.
You can see it
right here!
Oh!
There's our problem!
There's rocks stuck
in the tail pulley here,
so it's...
protruding out of the belt.
Oh, yeah, buddy,
that'll do it.
We've got a bunch of material
built up down here
around our tail wheel,
and when that happens,
it creates a bunch
of resistance
against the belt.
And also having all that rock
and debris down there,
uh, certainly is probably
what caused our tear
in the belt.
How bad is it in there?
It's right chock-full...
of just super-fine sand,
which means it was soupy
at one point
when it went through.
How deep is it?
It's like...
there. It's like 18 inches.
- Uh...
- Oh [bleep]. That is...
It's like just cemented
to the belt.
Yeah,
even the tail pulley
is chock-full. Like...
I'm gonna hop
in the mini hoe.
- Sounds good.
I'll keep shoveling.
- Okay.
We need dry dirt
going up our belts.
And you can see
this material here,
a lot of water in it.
This is really soupy stuff.
When you put this
on your belts,
it makes a lot of material
that sticks to the belt.
You know, there's not a lot
we can do other than
shut down Roxanne.
And, uh, well, we know Parker
isn't down for that.
You know, we can't afford
any downtime.
And right now,
that's, uh, what we've got.
This needs to be
shoveled, absolutely,
before we fire it back up.
We'll be shoveling here
for a while.
At Parker's
Long Cut,
sloppy pay has set
like concrete
and jammed
the feeder conveyor,
shutting down
the wash plant, Roxanne.
This here,
it's costing us downtime.
Downtime is a bad time.
Bud, I'm done in here.
It's looking better.
Conveyer drum cleared,
Alec and Liam move on
to fixing the tear
in the belt.
Two or three hours
to get this re-seamed
and running.
Put that on your wall.
Time to reassemble.
We're off our way now.
That was the last one.
They all look like
they're sitting
nice and happy.
Nothing but the best
for our old wash plant friend.
Absolutely.
This is the most
exciting part.
Running the thing, eh?
We've been down for
three and a half hours here,
but we're ready
to fire it back up
and get sluicing.
We've got water
back at the plant!
Let's get this thing shaking!
And to fire up!
All right, Evan,
we're all ready
to go up here, buddy.
Send us some dirt, buddy!
We were down
for a few hours,
but thankfully,
now we're back running again,
and that's what matters
the most.
King of the Klondike,
Tony Beets,
is moving mountains
to reach his 5,000-ounce
season goal.
The Beets Dynasty,
has already banked
from the Indian River,
worth over $4 million.
Tony's operation
is stretched
across two claims.
On the Indian River,
cousin, Mike,
is on the up and up...
sluicing comeback cut pay
with wash plants,
Sluice-a-lot,
and the Shaker Deck.
It's running good,
getting some gold.
Forty miles away
in Paradise Hill,
Tony's youngest son, Mike,
has built up
a mega pile of pay
from the Super Pit,
a gold-rich cut
they opened up last season.
But Tony's biggest moneymaker,
his 35-year-old trommel,
still hasn't sluiced
a bucket of dirt this season.
This is one of the major
pieces on the puzzle
of, uh, getting sluicing.
After weeks
of prepping the trommel,
Mike is struggling to fire up
the troublesome old pump
that sends water to the plant.
So Tony sends in
Beets veteran, Len Hoekstra,
to get it running.
Fire in the hole!
If we can't
get this one running,
we don't have water,
so we can't sluice.
So this is a big...
a big part
of the whole operation.
Argh! I really hope I don't
have to bleed this
The frustrating part
right now is that...
I can't fix nothing
'cause I don't know
what the hell
is all wrong with it.
If my brother was here,
I could send him
and have him do this,
'Cause he knows
how the pump sets up.
He knows the mechanic things.
However, he's not here.
Whoop-de-doo.
Gotta get over it.
So now I'm gonna learn it.
Fire in the hole!
She's being
really stubborn to start.
Maybe it doesn't have fuel
in all the injectors.
One's
bleeding out... fuel.
Make sure my fuel lines
- are getting fuel
to the engine.
- Yeah.
Oh! h*-h*!
I had
the preheat on.
When I turn the preheat on,
it puts energy
towards the glow plugs.
So, uh, what happens
when you touch steel
to, uh...
active current lines?
Sparks?
I'll do the same
on the other side.
Okay.
I think, Mike,
we have to start it
while I'm, uh, doing...
Climbing it.
Yeah, I figured that, too.
- Ready, Len?
- Yeah,
whenever you're ready.
Oh, I'm picking up
fuel pressure!
I feel it.
Why are you
being so stubborn?
You've got fuel now.
I'm just gonna...
But something is going on.
We've got, uh, fuel
on the cylinders?
- And look at this, Mike.
- Oh [bleep]!
You're right.
Oh, excuse me.
You're right.
I completely forgot
about that
like a [bleep] idiot.
Mike's forgotten
to disengage
the pump's
Murphy safety switch
that cuts off fuel
to the engine,
protecting it
from overheating.
Look at it!
We're getting somewhere.
Monica, do you copy? Monica?
I copy.
Are you ready by the water?
I'll be there
in two minutes.
Yeah, Mike, there's water.
That's the pump going.
Now I just gotta go up
and start the plan
and we'll be sluicing.
Starting off the plant.
Time to make some money!
The sluice box
is shaking.
It's nice to see!
Oh, yeah!
It's about [bleep] time!
Hey, Dad.
Good.
What you're saying is
we don't have to deal
with you
if we do our own good job?
Yeah!
I like
having responsibility,
and make my dad's life
a little bit easier
'cause now he doesn't
feel like he has to
micromanage everything.
I wanna get sluicing,
I wanna do clean up.
I wanna get some gold
in the box.
I wanna get some gold
on the table.
Hopefully, if we do
really well, you know,
Rick did say he'd probably
give us all
a good gold bonus this year.
At Duncan Creek,
Rick's crew
are nearing the end
of the Rally Valley pay pile.
Pay, right now,
is looking pretty slim.
And just a handful
of buckets left.
And the pressure
is on Rick
to find a new hotspot to mine.
You know,
the season's got to go on.
We do have to hit
our season goal, so...
We need ground
and we need it fast.
Hey, man.
So, I've been
doing some thinking,
and I've been
doing some looking.
With no guarantee
of a water license next year,
Rick is now focused on
bringing in
as much gold as possible
this season.
There's just a lot of things
in the [bleep] air right now,
especially with this
water license the way it is.
So...
This is all frozen here
on the Bench.
Right through the middle here,
there's a spot where we strip
the top off of it
and then we mined up to it.
Um, and it wasn't that great,
um...
But we're pretty desperate
for ground right now,
- Mmm-hmm.
- So, I think that
maybe we go over there
and look at that.
Yeah.
From the bench cut,
Buzz travels 500 yards north
to a five-and-a-half acre
stretch of open ground
next to the old creek cut,
which Rick thinks should have
an easy to access pay layer.
This looks like a good spot
to pull a sample from.
After Buzz opens
a section of the pay layer,
Rick comes out to test it.
You want to, uh, just give me
one [bleep] bucket out here?
If we can pull
some gold out of this
and run it to the plant
that means we can keep
going right now.
So, that's all that matters.
We just need some dirt
with gold in it.
I really hope
there's some gold
in this dirt.
it's there. You see that?
There's probably,
there might be
fifteen, 20 colors in there.
Yep, right on there.
Right on there.
It's very, very fine.
But we can catch
that fine gold.
It's there, I,
it's worth running.
I, I'd say let's, uh,
as soon as you get
a little bit more of that
stripped off,
we'll get the truck over here
and start
on this [bleep], eh?
Nice job, Buzz.
A little bit better result
than I expected.
I'm not gonna lie.
I think it may just
more than pay the bills,
you never know.
We're still in the game.
Four hours later,
back at Monster Red...
Well,
that is good, buddy.
Here it is,
massive [bleep] bucket
of Rally Valley.
Drop her in, bud.
It's all downhill from here, boys.
...Rick's crew
has finally finished running
the last of the Rally Valley
stockpile.
Well, that's that.
As a once famous person said,
"That's the way
the cookie crumbles."
We've spent three years
digging at Rally Valley.
We finally get
to the bottom of it.
I mean,
it's been paying off big time.
It's great to get
the last gold out of there,
but I don't know,
it's kinda bittersweet,
I guess.
The amount of gold
that we've gotten out of this,
I mean, I can only hope
we see something like that
again.
But, uh, it's done,
and we're gonna be moving on.
So, shut her down.
Go ahead.
Tony Beets is on a roll.
Both of his wash plants
are running at Indian River,
Sluice-a-lot
and the Shaker Deck.
And son Mike
is finally sluicing
with the trommel
at Paradise Hill.
It's nice to be finally
be sluicing again.
I hope it keeps on
until the end of September.
I wanna sluice
until most of my cuts
are done.
Yeah, go ahead.
[bleep] me.
Go to the water, please.
If you wanna know,
get in and get in fast.
Get in or get out.
- But don't [bleep],
I have to go.
- Okay.
My pump has got
a bit of motion in it.
So, it's starting
to grind against itself,
so it's starting
to shave itself.
Which means if I keep trying
to use this one,
eventually if it grinds
thin enough,
it'll [bleep] snap,
and it can cause [bleep] tons
of more damage.
So, yet again,
I am down from sluicing.
I'm just annoyed.
Because I'm hoping
to get this done
so I can actually
get [bleep] sluicing,
but like with everything,
one more problem,
one more problem
with no easy solutions.
At Paradise Hill,
Mike is shut down
with a broken water pump.
Let's see how it looks.
Oh, just like that.
Three whacks of the mallet.
All right,
what do you see, Clint?
Little bit of wear here.
I don't see, like,
bad chunks coming off of it.
And now we can see
where it is,
we've got shaving
over here a little bit.
But probably it's not the,
the brass that's cause it.
But it's this bearing
over here.
Look at that.
Yeah-- this probably thing
is [bleep].
How's it looking, Len?
Look at this.
We got a play over here.
And because we got
a play over here,
it's ran over there,
in my opinion.
- So, what you think
is we need a new bearing.
- Yeah.
If we take this one off,
put a new bearing in,
everything runs free
and Bob's your uncle.
- Sounds good,
if you think you can fix it.
- Yeah.
Check upstairs,
go in that container,
then yeah, grab a new one.
It's nice having Len around.
He's very smart.
He may not act like it,
but he's actually
a very intelligent person.
He tries to fool ya.
He's smart like that.
This is a new bearing.
We already put some,
uh, grease in it.
It looks pretty good.
Look at that, eh?
So far so good.
We're almost there, hopefully.
- All right, Mike,
I put a new bearing in it.
- I see.
Hopefully,
it doesn't come apart
when you start it up, Mike.
I don't hear
a lot of strange noises,
- so it should be good.
- Yeah.
Good work, Len.
Finally good
to be getting going.
And it's good
to be back sluicing.
So, overall,
it's pretty [bleep] good.
Roxanne is very good
at making dirt disappear.
So, we're definitely
got our hands full here,
just trying to keep
the plant running.
And right now,
I could use about three of me.
In Parker's 20-acre Long Cut,
foreman Mitch Blaschke
is battling
to keep wash plant Roxanne
fed with pay dirt.
We have just a lack
of resources,
a lack of resources
and machines,
a lack of resources
and operators.
Parker's got us
all over the place.
We also have acquired
a lot of new operators.
You know,
when you're out here
trying to achieve
the maximum you can each day,
and then you take people
that are new to it
and put that in the mix,
it's just another, you know,
layer in the,
in the tough factor here of,
of getting all this done.
So, this is my first week
working for Parker,
and so far
it's been really good.
Everybody's super nice
and welcoming.
I'm happy
that I got this opportunity
to come up to the Yukon
and find out
what's gold mining all about.
New hire,
is hauling overburden
and building a new road
along the east bank
of the Long Cut.
I am from Assiniboia,
Saskatchewan,
and it's always been my dream
to get out of Assiniboia.
I just like being happy
and having fun.
And right now,
I'm happy and having fun.
It's awesome.
Uh-oh.
Oh, [bleep].
We're
near off the edge.
Damn near went over the bank.
Mitch, you got a copy?
Yeah, man. What's up?
Yeah,
I'm stuck up here.
I'm gonna need a little hand
with the dozer.
Maybe pull out the front.
All right. Yeah,
I'll head that way.
You know, this isn't great.
We're about out of pay here
with Roxanne.
So, we gotta make this quick.
I was trying to get into
this gap here to fill it--
widen up the road,
but we're dealing with some
slough material and
I felt the truck cab shift.
Damn near went over the bank.
I am frustrated
right now.
You really want
to be moving dirt,
not, uh, trying to save
rock trucks
from flipping off
a ledge here.
Oh, man. Damn.
All right, um,
I'll come up here
and see if we can cut
some of this material
- that's behind ya.
- Yeah.
And if we can do that,
we might be able
to back you up a bit.
But I'm just worried
- this thing's gonna wanna try
and roll here.
- Me too.
- So, um...
- Yeah.
We got
the other trucks running,
bringing material up.
I'll have 'em dump some
right here
and I'll try and push a little
off this side
so we got
a little bit more here
- to try and help
hold the bank up.
- Yeah. Sounds good.
He's gonna put some material
on this outside edge here,
beside the tires,
so then it's less chance
of sloughing.
Yeah, Luke,
you're looking good.
Just straight on back there,
right in the center
of the road.
You know, these kind of things
are gonna happen,
especially when you got
new drivers.
Uh, you gotta be very careful
when you're up here,
you know,
on something like this.
No, not you.
Back up, back up.
Come on, baby.
Holy [bleep], that was close.
Easy.
As soon as I get over there,
you definitely tell,
this dozer wants to do
the exact same thing,
going off that edge there.
This is not
a good first impression.
Look at the mess I caused.
All righty.
All right, man.
Let's give that a try.
Beautiful work.
Sorry that it had to be done.
Oh, no worries.
You know, when you're out here
doing a job like this,
there's a lot of things where,
you know,
stuff could go wrong.
The last thing you wanna see
is somebody get hurt.
You did the best thing,
which is stop,
ask for some help.
We were able to grab the ten,
we just carried
a little bit of material
around the truck,
and as you can see,
he was able to back right up.
- Thank you so much, Mitch.
- Yeah.
Hey, no worries.
- Nice job, man.
- Handshake?
Oh, sure, here we go.
- Can I give you a hug too?
- Sure.
- I'm not a hugger. No hugging.
- No hug? [chuckles] Okay.
- Well, let's get back
to moving some dirt.
- Yeah.
- Thank you.
- Yeah.
The last cleanup
from Rally Valley
was phenomenal.
Like, best I've ever done
I think.
At Rick's gold room,
Heather Folston
cleans the gold
from Rally Valley's
final cleanup.
So, so far, yeah,
this cleanup is looking
still good.
Yeah,
I don't wanna make guesses
on what this will be yet,
because I don't wanna jinx it
in any way.
But if this could be
another record setter,
it would they help us a lot
with getting to that goal.
I have faith.
Let's go, little flakes.
- Hey, guys.
- Hola.
How are you guys?
Oh, busy.
Always.
After struggling
to fire up the trommel,
the Beets' family
have three wash plants running
for the first time
this season.
Mike's run Paradise Hills'
super pit pay for three days.
It's nice to finally have
that trommel working.
So, once I got the pump fixed,
it, it was going good.
It's-- I, I haven't had
any issues since.
I'm sluicing every day.
Uh,
I'm finally getting through
all that pay dirt.
I guess, it's been a fight
to get her going,
but she's going.
We should do the Hill first?
To hit
Tony's 5000-ounce goal,
they need to mine
Seventy, 75, 80.
Not too bad, Michael.
Three ounces an hour
give or take?
- Yeah.
- So, sir, ma'am.
- Sluice-a-lot.
- Sluice-a-lot.
One, two, five, six,
That it?
Fifty, 60, 80, 90, 100,
fifteen hundred, 1600,
Two hundred thirty.
- Yeah.
- So, we'll do screen deck.
All right.
There, you got 10,
you got 30, 50,
eighty, 90, 100,
hundred and twenty,
Are you gonna make
the two, 200?
Tony's three wash plant blitz
has brought in 523.85 ounces
worth $1.3 million,
a record this season.
He says he's gonna take it,
but he's not getting it.
- What's happening?
- Hey, hey.
Parker is chasing
a record breaking
but so far,
only has 576 ounces.
I hear you had
an exciting week.
It's always exciting.
But yeah, this time
a little bit more than normal.
Yeah.
It's just one thing
after the next.
The Long Cut is not giving up
the gold very easily.
Well, at least Big Red
did some sluicing this week.
Yeah, man, yeah,
it seems to be chugging
along good.
It's a nice setup up there.
Big Red
has been sluicing top gravels
in the Bridge Cut.
Last week,
it produced just 30 ounces.
Let's see it.
- You ready?
- Here we go.
Big Red.
Two, 30, 40.
Forty five, 50, 55.8
, that's way better
than I thought it would be.
Almost $140,000.
This season, Big Red is, like,
on some sort of weird
exercise program
of just not finding any gold,
just working out a lot.
Yeah. Yeah.
Let's see if this would work
on 30-ounce scale.
- Are you ready, Mitch?
- Let's do it.
Roxanne.
- You ready?
- Yeah, it was a tough week,
but she made some gold
looks like.
All right, 20, 40, 50, 80, 90.
Gonna break 100,
Worth just under $430,000.
For the week, you guys,
we wound up with 227
and three-quarter ounces.
And it brings a season total
of, uh, 804.25.
Only $9200,
that's a short.
All right.
The way the numbers
have been going,
fire up three plants,
four plants, I don't care.
- We need to get some gold
rolling through here.
- Yeah.
Eventually,
Big Red will get down there
to some good dirt
and Roxanne's gonna keep
chowing through the material
at the Long Cut
as long as it thaws out.
Just keep
washing dirt and rock.
We'll, we'll get it.
- All right. Thanks, Chris.
- All righty.
- See you, Doumitt.
- Yep.
- You all good?
- All good.
We've gotta get
these numbers up.
They just...
Every week,
we're falling further
and further behind
and something's gotta give.
We just got
on this ground last year.
And that scares me.
It's like, you know,
we don't know it at all,
and it's very tough
to make good decisions.
Any company that makes
a big pivot or change,
you know, a lot of them
don't survive that.
Danny!
- Danny.
- What's up, guys?
- Hey, we got beer for me?
- Yeah.
Rick's crew gathered
to weigh the last ever gold
from Rally Valley.
It's been three years
in the making,
and we've had
two amazing clean ups
out of it this year.
Over three seasons mining,
Rally Valley has delivered
more than $4.5 million
worth of gold.
Ryan, you gonna help me count?
Yeah.
We'll start
with what we know.
- Okay?
- We got 100 ounces right here.
Um, we got another
So, that's 300 to start with.
Well, that's,
that's a good start.
That's a good start.
And then we've got
whatever's in this guy.
A record of all time
is 350 ounces.
I hope there's more.
You ready?
- Yep.
- Let's do this.
Two, four, five, eight, nine,
forty, 50, 60, 70,
eighty, 90.
- Whoo! Nice.
- Oh, [bleep], yeah.
You know what's funny though,
is that, that's not even it.
- What do you mean?
- But wait, there's more...
You guys
could all just come up here
and take a look at this.
You ready for this?
Check this out.
, that's another 40.04.
Geez Louise, man.
Worth just over $1 million,
Rick's biggest ever
gold weigh,
making his grand total
out of Rally Valley
this season
over $2.3 million.
That,
that's the highlight for me
of 13 years of mining.
And the fact that we did it
with just [bleep] seven of us,
like, it's,
that's honest to God, like,
I can't thank you guys enough.
Like, this,
this is the reason
we come up here.
And when we put up
numbers like this,
- we all go home
real [bleep] happy.
- Yeah.
I feel very thankful
for you guys.
The last two years
have really been
a game changer for me.
You know, um,
three years ago,
I might as well have been out
of this [bleep] business.
I really was.
And, um, to come back
and to come back
with the right people
has been important.
- Oh, we love you too.
- Thanks, man, we love you too.
After seeing what
Rally Valley had to offer,
I mean, you can see it,
it's right there in the pan.
There ain't no lying
about that.
And knowing that that channel
goes on for, you know,
miles on this ground,
I think that's our future.
If we have a future here
water license wise,
And we're gonna face
some [bleep] perils.
I mean,
I'm telling you right now.
But as long as we're willing
to go after it
and you got it, it's there.
