[male #1] 'I know I may get caught someday.'

'But they'll never take me alive.'

'Oh, I swear.'

They're still looking for the k*ller

of those girls, Jason.

'I wonder who he really is.'

There's this thing I got about girls.

I...I like to look at 'em.

'Sometimes, I-I follow 'em.'

Sometimes, I-I get a little carried away

when I'm making a pass.

[male #1] 'I won't stop.'

[gasping] 'I'll k*ll 'em all.'

'I'll k*ll 'em all!'

[male narrator] Gloria McMann, age 22, a postgraduate student

in a college in Maryland

was attacked on the night of September 23rd

at approximately 10 o'clock

shortly after leaving the college library.

She was taking a shortcut to her sorority house.

Before reaching her destination

she was stabbed and almost k*lled

by person or persons unknown.

Because the crime took place

on United States government property

the FBI was called in.

[Lewis] 'Gloria McMann'

'Susan August'

'Agnes Martin.'

Two dead and one still holding on.

What's her condition?

Hopeful, but she's still in intensive care.

The hospital will let us know if there's any change.

And the sentry?

Well, he's recovering from a hard blow

on the back of the neck.

He sustained a concussion

but he didn't see a thing.

What have we learnt about the two girls that were k*lled?

I checked the local police files.

There's one link between all three victims.

They all belong to the same sorority.

[buzzer]

Erskine.

Lewis, how's it going out there?

Oh, Arthur, I was just about to call you.

So far, no witnesses, no clues

no suspects.

Have you been able to talk to the McMann girl?

Not yet. And the sentry can't remember anything.

He's had a concussion.

I think I've got something for you.

[g*nshots]

[man on speaker] 'Attention on the firing line.'

'Reload with six rounds and holster.'

'Ready on the right. Ready on the left.'

'All ready on the line.'

'Commence firing.'

'Cease firing.'

Oh, hello, Mr. Ward.

I'm glad I wasn't your target, Miss Driscoll.

Your marksmanship is excellent even in the rain.

Thank you, sir.

Your SAC called

and asked that your in-service training be cut short.

You are to return to Baltimore this afternoon.

We're signing you to Inspector Erskine

on a special at the Fairhaven m*ssile site.

Mmm. The Gloria McMann stabbing.

Yes.

We feel the case is tied in with the recent murders

of two other girls in that area.

All three were sorority sisters.

Same sorority you belonged to

when you attended the university.

You know the town, you know the university

you know the sorority.

Your training, that kind of knowledge

could be invaluable.

Okay, let's go, you guys.

[children shouting]

Alright!

Go on. Now, hold up there now. Come on, alright.

Line up against the wall, come on.

Let's go.

Alright. Come on. Come on.

Mmm. Okay, we're all here?

[clamoring]

Hey, professor.

How are ya?

Hey, look, if you really wanna improve your distance

you know, if-if you could just reach your arm out for the end

of the pool and bring it back hard, that..

Well, that oughta do it.

We've had two murders.

Another girl stabbed and you're giving me swimming lessons.

It's marvelous how wonderfully detached you can be

when everybody else in this campus is in a state of shock.

I envy you.

Hey, look, uh, professor, uh..

Having read the papers, I guess I should have realized this, uh.

Well, uh..

Realized what?

- Nothing. - Realized what, Vaughn?

Oh, just that, uh, two of those girls being in your class, uh..

I guess it kinda makes it more personal to you.

Yes, it did.

Especially since all three were students of mine.

Look...professor, I-I-I wasn't implying anything, I mean..

- I don't want you to think-- - 'Forget it, I'm tired.'

How'd your team do

at the out-of-town meet last weekend?

You should've been there. We won it easy.

Hey.

[blows whistle]

Roger, get out of the pool. Now, come on.

'Cut that horsin' around.'

They're really good kids.

Yeah, next up is our big three-day meet

with all the youth health clubs from all over the state.

'That's the big one to win.'

Now, I don't know what we would've done

if the university hadn't let us use the pool

for our home meets and our practices.

It's their contribution to civic endeavor.

Good luck on the big meet.

Yeah. Thanks, professor.

Hey, and look, uh..

You really wanna improve that, uh, distance, uh

practice your kick, you know, kick from the hip.

Thanks. Next time I'll try harder.

Sure.

Alright, you frogs. Let's get in the pool.

Come on, get on the side of the pool.

I want 50 kicks, alright.

[blows whistle]

'That's it, kick, kick, kick'

'kick...kick, that's it.'

'That's it, kick from the hip. That's it.'

The police have beefed-up security on the campus.

There's warning signs out against hitch-hiking.

Bicycle patrols at night.

Some of the more wooded secluded areas have been

ruled off-campus both days and night.

And there's warning spot announcements

'on radio and television.'

We suspect the k*ller must have some knowledge of anatomy.

Each of the girls were stabbed in the same way.

There must be a connection with the Phi Lambda house.

[sighs] Used to be so clean here.

So free and safe.

Gloria kept getting these phone calls.

- 'From whom, Janie?' - I don't know.

She-she never said.

I remember she always seemed embarrassed.

She never talked about it

even when we joked about who this mysterious guy was.

You never heard her mention his name?

It just hit me.

Gloria never did date.

Could they have been obscene calls?

I don't know.

Gloria kept to herself mostly. She was a loner.

Could you make a guess?

There's this weird guy, Darcy.

'He must've been here a 100 times.'

He delivers pizza from town.

He'd always have this strange look in his eyes for Gloria

when he'd come to deliver the pizza.

Can you recall any strange or unusual types

hanging around the sorority house?

Well, there is this Darcy.

He has a way of blowin' his horn at you

as he comes driving by and you're walking.

'He comes driving right up alongside you'

in his little truck, and blows his horn.

A tiny little beep, but he makes sure you hear him.

Do you know what I mean?

Excuse me, sir. We're looking for Darcy Neil.

Darcy? Oh, he's out on delivery.

- I'll give you his route. - 'Thank you.'

You know, he's the best worker I ever had.

Always delivers on time.

That kinda boy's hard to find these days, right?

[honking]

Whoa!

Hey.

Hey, honey.

I'm on a break. Come on, let's go for a ride.

Come on, hop in.

Come on, let's go for a ride.

- Get lost. - Oh, come on, come on.

Let's go do some homework.

Let me go, you creep.

Aww, come on, girl. Come on, let's go.

You there, hold it.

That's Darcy Neil's truck.

Turn around, hands on top.

[indistinct chatter on radio]

Yeah, sure, I.. I know Gloria.

- Thanks, officer. - I, I called her lots of times.

You know, sometimes I'd-I'd, uh, drive up

'alongside her in the street.'

Other times I'd wait for her a-at the library, nights.

I-I'd try to talk her into going out with me.

But she always frosted me.

Uh, I like that girl, I-I really like her.

Gloria was initiated into Phi Lambda

a few years after me.

Now, the police found this pin in your possession, Darcy.

Initials on the back are GMCM.

It's Gloria McMann's sorority pin. How'd you get it?

W-well...I-I-I made a delivery one night to her room

and she had to go get some-some money

from another girl

and I-I saw the pin there on her dresser.

Well, I borrowed it.

You mean you stole it.

Oh, now, back off, uh..

You can't try to hang me for lifting a five-buck pin.

I-I-I told you, I liked her.

Why did you run away from the patrol car?

Y-you mind if I get a drink of water?

Go ahead.

[sighs]

Well, you-you'll find out anyway..

I'm a dropout from West Virginia.

I-I was in pre-med there.

I got in some trouble.

The court put me on two years probation.

[exhales]

It's, it's this thing I got about girls..

I...I like to look at 'em.

Sometimes I-I follow 'em.

Sometimes I-I get a little carried away

when I'm makin' a pass.

I, I can't help myself.

It's like a compulsion.

You know, one time, I went too far.

I-I-I got too rough and I got busted.

I, you know what I mean? I couldn't..

So, naturally that's why I got scared and ran.

I could see it all breaking out into the open.

Who'd want me around? Who-who would hire me?

But I haven't hurt anybody since.

I swear.

A-and I didn't knife Gloria.

How well did you know Susan August

and Agnes Martin, Darcy?

Well, I knew 'em, I..

I knew 'em like I knew the other girls, you know

like when I made deliveries to the house.

Look, I-I'm the assistant swim coach at the Youth Health club.

I-I-I pick up a little extra money.

Well, you can't nail me for those other two girls 'cause

I was out of town on swim meets

both times when those other two girls were k*lled.

Hmm.

And the night, uh, Gloria McMann was stabbed?

Well..

What's the matter, Darcy?

'Don't you remember?'

I couldn't go with the swim team last week, I was sick.

You can ask Vaughn Teller. He's the swim coach.

We'll do that.

[male #1] 'She hasn't died yet.'

'That doesn't mean it's over.'

'It isn't over.'

'Even though they are dead.'

'You didn't listen to me.'

'Why? Why didn't you listen to me?'

'Oh, I wanted you.'

'Oh..'

'I-I told you how wrong he was.'

'Yes.'

'I know I may get caught someday.'

'They'll never take me alive.'

'Oh, I swear it.'

'When they hear this, they'll know why I did it.'

'Oh, I want them to know why I did this.'

[breathing heavily] 'For you.'

'I did it for you!'

'For you!'

I want a complete rundown on Gloria McMann

before she got to the library.

And, uh, on either names of everyone

who checked books in or out that night.

Tell Gloria hello for me, will you inspector?

And tell her I'll stop by the hospital

and see her as soon as I can.

- I'll do that. - We'll interview Vaughn Teller.

[bell ringing]

[children cheering]

Okay.

Alright, there you go. That's it. Go on.

Alright, don't forget your towels. Come on.

You're on the road.

- Alright. - Vaughn Teller?

- Yeah? - Well, it's been a while.

Last time, I was here for the alumni reunion

you were just starting out with Youth Help.

[chuckles] I'm-I'm sorry, just doesn't ring a bell.

- Pat Driscoll. - Oh, oh, yeah, yeah. Sure, um..

Look, I'm in kind of a hurry.

Is there, is there something I can do for you?

I'm with the FBI now, Vaughn.

And this is Special Agent Chris Daniels.

'We'd like to talk to you.'

- Yeah, well, about what? - Darcy Neil.

Well, yeah, uh.. Wait just a minute.

Okay all you frogs, I want you go into..

Wait a minute, wait a minute.

I want you to get in your swimsuits

and don't leave that locker room till I get there, alright?

- Okay, go on.. - Okay..

We got a big inter-state meet comin' up next..

So, uh, you wanna talk about Darcy Neil?

Yes, we're investigating the stabbing that took place

recently on the m*ssile site.

And we're also looking into the cases of the two other girls

who were stabbed to death before that.

Well, Darcy, y-you think, Darcy had something to do with that?

He says he works for you as your assistant coach.

- He told you that? - Mm-hmm.

Doesn't he?

Well, w-w-w-wait just a minute.

Park it around back, alright?

Alright.

Yeah, well, Darcy, um, I let him babysit the kids in the pool

every once in a while, you know, he clocks the kids for time

and-and comes to the meets, things like that.

How about the last meet?

Let's see. Um..

Well, he-he missed it, he said he was sick.

- Was he? - Well, he said he was.

Well, what about some of the other meets?

Was he there for all of those?

Well, uh, he might've been, I-I, I just don't remember it.

Yeah, but come to think of it, uh..

...there is something kind of strange about Darcy.

He gets this, um, q*eer look in his eye every once in a while.

You know, you-you-you look at him

and, um, he-he doesn't seem to be there.

Uh, you-you know what I mean?

Did he ever mention girls to you?

Well, w-w-what do you mean?

Well, uh, did he ever talk about anyone he ever took out?

No. Darcy never mentioned that.

Well, if you do remember him missing any of the other meets

be sure and let us know, will you?

Sure, sure.

Thank you very much.

Hey, there, uh, uh.. Wait a minute, um..

There was this, um, one time, uh

one of the kids got sick the night before the meet

and, uh, he went to Darcy's door and knocked on it

and he didn't get any answer.

Of course, the kid couldn't have been too sick

'cause he went back to his room, went to sleep

next morning he woke up, he was fine.

Won his heat too.

Yeah, Darcy was probably just, uh

snoring off on beer, you know?

Maybe.

Well, Vaughn, good luck with your team.

Well, yeah, uh, good luck with your team.

[instrumental music]

Starting early today, Wilma?

You usually wait until the sun goes down.

Daylight saving, Jason. Sun stays up longer.

And in the winter, the days get darker sooner.

You have your own year-round built in timetable, haven't you?

I'll drink whenever I like it

and without asking your permission.

[music continues]

Couple of students of mine are dropping by this evening.

If you're planning to stay drunk

I'd appreciate you doing it alone.

You mean, stay out of sight? Drop dead?

You said that.

Female students, of course.

- Have another drink. - Maybe I will.

[music continues]

I know I'm so much dirt to you, Mr. Superior.

I know you always wanted her.

Well, I'm stickin'.

I'm not goin' back to the old hometown.

I'm stayin' right here

and I'm goin' right on being the professor's wife.

[music continues]

You married me on the rebound, professor

and you're stuck with me.

So, I'm dumb. I'm dirt and I drink.

But she's dead.

[gasps]

They're still looking for the k*ller

of those girls, Jason.

I wonder who he really is?

[intense music]

- How's Gloria doing? - Much better.

She couldn't tell me anything

she never got a look at him.

Oh, inspector.

The librarian didn't see anybody follow Gloria out.

And she's still compiling a list of people

who checked books in and out that night.

Good, Pat.

What did, uh, Vaughn Teller have to say?

Well, he confirmed Darcy was at those out of town meets

but he reported sick and missed the last one

and that was the night Gloria was attacked.

Inspector, this came for you in the mail today.

Local postmark.

Wouldn't be your birthday, would it, inspector?

I don't know, I've stopped counting.

'Hmm.'

This mean anything to you?

I'm not sure.

Grant? Grant?

Jason Grant?

Of course.

This is Professor Grant.

He was engaged to a friend of mine, Lorna Thorn.

She was a sorority sister of mine too.

They were gonna get married.

In fact, they were going to announce it

the night of our graduation dance.

But that night he found, Lorna..

...dead.

What do you mean?

Apparently she'd been walking across the old footbridge

in the back part of the campus. It had been condemned.

It was totally off-limits until they could rebuild it.

Part of the bridge gave way.

Naturally, Lorna fell.

There was a ravine below it.

There was an investigation, of course, and..

...the coroner ruled accidental death.

And Grant discovered the body.

[clamoring]

Do you know which is Jason Grant?

Jason Grant?

I'm Professor Grant.

Inspector Erskine, FBI.

You remember Pat Driscoll?

Definitely, she just squeaked by in physiology one.

[laughs]

Well, it was tough, sir.

Pat's one of our agents now.

That's nice.

When a member of the FBI introduces himself

I don't imagine it's all social.

Not exactly.

I must advice you that you have the right to remain silent.

'Anything you say can be used against you.'

And you may call an attorney, if you wish.

The attack on Gloria McMann?

You can't be serious.

[sighs]

These, um, arrived in the mail.

Addressed to me.

'You have an explanation?'

We use scalpels for dissections in my lab every day.

You can also buy them at any medical supply house.

Maybe it's a joke.

Professor, can you tell us where you were on the nights

that Susan August and Agnes Martin were k*lled?

I was teaching an adult extension course on campus.

The night Gloria McMahon was stabbed?

That was the night of the final exam.

Medical evidence indicates

that this scalpel was used in all three cases.

I already explained that anybody could've

taken that knife and sent it to you.

The janitor, a student, my wife

'anybody with a perverse sense of humor.'

Excuse me, please.

I understand you were goin' to marry one of your students.

Lorna Thorn.

You found her body the night the announcement

was going to be made?

I went over all that with the police.

Do you mind going through it with us?

Lorna said she'd meet me at the graduation dance.

When she didn't show up I went looking for her.

I found her..

...here.

'Her body was lying there among the rocks.'

She looked so small.

So fragile.

Like a doll that had fallen out of a child's crib.

I was afraid if I touched her she'd crack into a 100 pieces.

Did anything happen between the two of you?

An argument, or..

...talk of postponing the wedding?

Lorna was very uptight earlier that afternoon.

Very withdrawn.

She seemed to have turned off, all of a sudden.

I went to the sorority house that night.

'Asked her what was the matter.'

'If I could help.'

She just stared.

I remember her saying..

Um..

"I'm looking for the right words to say the right things."

What made you think you'd find her here later on?

When she didn't show at the dance

it was the last resort.

She'd come here to think.

To be alone.

To get away from reality.

You've met her here on those occasions?

Sometimes.

You listen to me.

I've been through this once already

with the police, and I'm not letting you

or anyone else put me through it again.

This was the girl I was engaged to marry. I didn't k*ll her.

If you've got charges against me, press them.

Do you believe him, sir?

I'll tell you what I don't believe.

I don't believe he's a 100-proof.

Pat, I want a complete background check on Lorna Thorn.

Inspector.

Do you think he could've done it?

Either that, or somebody wants me to pretty badly.

[phone ringing]

- Hello? - 'It's not hello.'

[male #1] 'It's goodbye.'

'You're dead. Do you understand?'

'There'll be other parks.'

'Other times.'

'Next time I won't miss.'

'No matter where you are. Oh, no matter where you go.'

'I'll be waiting. I'll get you.'

[gasping] 'I'll get all the girls.'

'You'll all pay.'

No, no!

[male #1] 'I'll be waiting for you.'

'I'll catch you.'

[maniacal laughter]

He said, um, it wasn't going to end with me.

It wasn't going to stop.

That he was gonna k*ll me.

He was going to k*ll all of the girls where I came from.

All the girls?

All the girls and that we were going to pay.

Pay for what? Did he say, Gloria?

[sobbing] I threw the phone down, I couldn't listen anymore.

Did you recognize his voice?

[sobbing] I don't know. I couldn't tell.

I don't know, I..

Notify the police, and after I leave

ask her permission to monitor her incoming calls.

Yes, sir.

You'll be safe here, Miss McMann.

Nobody's gonna hurt you.

There'll be a police officer outside your door

twenty four hours a day.

Thank you.

We'll talk to you again when you're feeling better.

I'll try to stop by and see you tomorrow morning, okay?

[Gloria] I'm sorry I broke down.

I still can't tell you who that voice was.

Nothing unusual on Lorna Thorne.

Born and raised in Whiteford

a small farming region near Northern Maryland.

Parents died three years ago.

No brothers, no sisters, no living relatives.

Pulled a 3.4 average in high school

applied for entrance and was accepted by the university.

Coroner's autopsy report showed

instant death upon impact of fall.

Primary cause of death, broken neck.

Multiple lacerations

internal injuries, non-contributory factors.

Another statistic in another local coroner's

accidental death report.

Let's concentrate on what we do know.

We know that two girls were k*lled

one almost k*lled between the hours

of 9 p.m..

...and 12:00.

All three...on Saturday.

What was going on in this town at that time?

'Could it have given the k*ller the cover he needed?'

And what's happening next Saturday night?

Jason Grant's new adult extension course.

You know, we've been searching for answers inside the town

but...what if the k*ller..

...used an out-of-town cover.

Well, the swim team stays away overnight.

So, why couldn't Darcy Neil have made it back

those two Saturday nights, then return the same night

with nobody being the wiser.

Vaughn Teller told us, remember?

One of the team members got sick at a meet.

He knocked on Darcy's door, got no answer.

Somebody else could've made it back too, just as easily.

'Vaughn Teller.'

All three meets were over by 7 p.m.

That's just about the time this Saturday's event is

scheduled to finish.

There's no question, Mr. Ward. They match.

Why did the Wellington Police pick him up?

He was wandering the streets.

Just out of the service. Traumatic amnesia.

They sent us his prints.

We matched them against his military fingerprint card.

And Teller was born in Whiteford, Maryland.

Yes, sir, the same town Lorna Thorne came from.

This is Assistant Director Ward. Get me Inspector Erskine.

[gasping]

[male #1] 'I waited so long.'

'Why did you keep me waiting so long?'

[intense music]

'I'm beginning to sweat. Scalpel. Is it real?'

[laughs]

'They don't know.'

'I couldn't wait anymore.'

[whimpering]

'I just couldn't wait.'

'And I won't stop.'

'Oh, no, oh, no, I won't stop.'

'I'll k*ll 'em all, I'll k*ll 'em all.'

She claims it's him, sir, seems pretty sure.

I'm at the car rental agency right now, inspector, and I..

Yes, sir, that was on Saturday night.

Now, the speedometer reading shows that the mileage

from here to the university is 30 miles

and it's 30 miles right back to where they held that meet.

No, sir, she says that she'd swear

on a stack of Bibles that he's the one.

Mm-hmm, I did, I sure did.

He's a really groovy looking guy.

[Lewis] Yes, sir. Vaughn Teller.

Thank you.

The swim team already left for their meet.

Teller arrived in town, joined the Youth Health Club

as swimming coach a month before Lorna Thorne died.

What do you suppose his connection was with her

beyond the fact they both came from the same town?

Excuse me, sir. A Mrs. Gatsby called. Teller's landlady.

She said she heard him talking and he sounded insane.

Shouted something about k*lling them all.

Pat, I want you to go to the sorority house

and warn the girls not to go out at night

for any reason whatsoever.

Right.

I thought he was such a nice, quiet man.

No wild parties, paid his rent on time.

I never dreamed there was anything wrong with him until..

Well, I heard him talking in his room.

I knew he was alone.

I hope I did the right thing

bringing his tape recorder to this room.

You never know about them, do you?

Go and listen for yourself.

[Vaughn on recorder] 'Oh, I waited. You know I waited, Lorna.'

'Oh, I didn't wanna k*ll you.'

'It was them. Oh, yeah, it was them. All-all those girls.'

'They made you feel I was just some dumb hick from the farm.'

'But that was our life together before you came here.'

'W-wasn't it, Lorna?'

'They k*lled you. Oh, yeah, they k*lled you.'

'But I'm gonna get 'em. I'm gonna get them all'

'and I'm gonna get him, I'm gonna get him.'

'The man they wanted you to marry.'

'Oh, I'm gonna k*ll him.'

I found this book in his room next to the recorder.

I thought it might be important.

[Lew sighs]

[Chris] 'Miss Pat.'

It was her picture he cut out. He's going after her next.

- May I use your phone? - Mm-hmm.

This is Inspector Erskine with the FBI.

Would you put me through to the Sheriff's Office

in Mason Falls right away, please?

T-E-L-L-E-R.

First name, Vaughn? Right, inspector.

I'll send a unit over to the high school pool

to stand by for you.

Thank you, lieutenant. We'll be there as soon as we can.

[male #2] 'Hold on, inspector.'

What are you doing here, Norm?

Why aren't you over at the high school?

Yeah, that swim meet's been cancelled.

Inspector, the swim meet's been cancelled.

Here, I'll put Sergeant White on, he can tell you.

- FBI. - FBI?

Sergeant White here.

Yes, sergeant, what's happened?

Well, one of the visiting team boys got sick.

Diagnosed as meningitis.

Shook up the officials pretty bad.

They figured to call the whole thing off right now

to avoid any epidemic.

Sergeant, can you tell me anything about a Vaughn Teller?

One of the visiting coaches?

Did he leave with the team bus or on his own?

Now, that I don't know

but I will sure check it out for you.

Thank you, sergeant.

Yes, officer, I heard Miss Driscoll order

the cab driver to take her to the Phi Lambda House.

Thank you, thank you.

[phone ringing]

Phi Lambda.

Yes, is, uh, is Pat Driscoll there, please?

- Yes, she is. I'll get her. - 'Oh, no, no, no.'

That's, uh, that's alright, uh..

Uh, just tell her to be waiting outside in ten minutes.

Inspector Erskine'll pick her up.

- It's very important. - Okay, I'll tell her.

Thank you very much.

We're gonna take a little walk, you and me.

Because we've got some things to talk about.

She's gone.

They said that you called and you'd pick her up

out front in ten minutes.

Check with the motel.

Thank you.

No, sir, he said he was Detective Sergeant Wallace

from Homicide.

Yes, sir, I told him I heard Miss Driscoll order

the taxi driver to take her to the sorority house.

And then he made a call from the public telephone booth

here in the lobby.

Well, where do you think he's taken her?

Try the footbridge.

It's a long shot but it's the only shot we got.

They turned you against me, Lorna.

These girls.

They-they twisted your mind with their money.

They wanted you to be like they were.

Vaughn, listen to me now.

Lorna is dead. She has been dead a long time.

Oh, I loved you, Lorna.

[breathing heavily]

I waited for you.

But you wouldn't see me, would you? No.

I'm not good for you anymore.

Now, Vaughn. Now, let's go back. This is a mistake.

Just take me back, let's go back--

They're gonna pay, those girls.

They're gonna pay for what they did to you and to me.

Those years in the army, in Vietnam.

Oh, coming back to you was the only thing

that kept me alive.

Why'd you do it to me, Lorna?

I don't wanna k*ll you.

It's those rich friends of yours.

They're responsible.

I-I-I can't let you marry him.

I can't let you do that.

Y-y-you know I-I can't let you do that, Lorna.

[Lewis] 'FBI, Teller. Let her go.'

[gasps]

Don't sh**t.

They caught me alive, Lorna.

I told you, I'd k*ll myself first.

k*lling yourself isn't the answer, Vaughn.

It won't help.

Oh, Lorna..

Lorna.

Lorna is dead.

- Huh? - She's dead. come on.

Come on, now, Vaughn.

It's all over now.

Come on, that's it. That's it, come on.

[whimpering]

Gloria said to say goodbye to you.

How is she?

She'll be alright.

But she'll never understand about Vaughn.

Why he blamed her, held her responsible for Lorna's death?

Especially, when Lorna never even mentioned him

to any of the other girls.

Well, he had to blame someone.

By the way, Pat.

That was a nice move you made for the knife.

Thank you, inspector.

[male narrator] In view of the more serious charges facing him

in the state of Maryland, federal prosecution

of Vaughn Teller for crime on a government reservation

was declined in favor of local prosecution

and Teller, together with the evidence

the FBI had gathered against him

in the murders of the coeds

was turned over to Maryland authorities.
