PW: While we were at Hazakura Templein the mountains for Maya's training,

PW: picture book author Elise Deauxnim was m*rder*d in its courtyard.

PW: Maya was training at the time,

PW: and she was stranded in the Inner Temple after a lightning strike.

PW: And after I went to save her and failed, I got trapped in a hospital, too.

PW: The one arrested for the m*rder was Sister Iris,

PW: a mysterious nun who looked just like Dahlia Hawthorne, the girl I'd never forget.

PW: I entrusted her defense to my friend Miles Edgeworth.

PW: As he fought his formidable adversary,Prosecutor Franziska von Karma,

PW: and had his back to the wall, that man showed up.

LB: Objection!

ME: Larry!

LB: I'm not Larry. I'm Laurice Deauxnim!

Fran: Deauxnim?

LB: I saw what happened that night.

LB: For Iris's sake, I'll tell you everything!

Title: Bridge to the Turnabout — rd Trial

J: Laurice Deauxnim, is it?

ME: It seems he was the disciple of the victim, Elise Deauxnim.

ME: That night, he was in a mountain shack near the scene.

LB: It's called the Heavenly Hall!

Fran: Do you know something about the incident?

LB: Yeah, I'll tell all!

LB: I, Laurice Deauxnim, won't run or hide!

ME: Says the guy who ran awayas fast as he could yesterday!

J: Please testify to the court, then.

Sign: Witness Testimony

LB: Yeah, Iris took the snowmobile that night.

LB: But it wasn't to commit a m*rder.

LB: It was for dinner!

J: Dinner?

LB: Yeah!

LB: She was all like, the curry is ready! She looked so cool!

LB: And later, I was in that shacksketching... in my dreams.

Fran: H-Huh? What is he talking about?

ME: He must mean he dozed off while sketching.

LB: That's when I heard a huge crash!

LB: It was so loud, my mind went blank.

LB: I saw that run-down bridge on fire,

LB: and when I rushed there, I ran into Nick.

Fran: Was the bridge still intact then?

LB: I guess it'd reached the end ofits bridge life. It was up in flames.

LB: Nick tried to cross it anyway and fell.

Fran: What?!

ME: His life isn't in danger. He did catch a nasty cold, though.

Fran: I can never tell if that man has the best or the worst luck.

ME: Larry...

ME: According to the police's records, you called them at : PM that night.

LB: Wh-What about it?

ME: Dusky Bridge was struck by lightning at : PM.

ME: Why is there a gap of minutes between the strike and the call?

ME: The shack you were in isa stone's throw away from the bridge.

ME: What were you doing in that time?

LB: W-Well, y'know...

Fran: Talk! Now!

LB: I'm a Deauxnim! An artist!

LB: Isn't it obvious what I'd be doing? Sketching, of course!

J: S-Sketching?

LB: The bridge was aflame, and so was my heart!

ME: Then you were simply sketching until you met Wright?

LB: Exactly!

LB: An artist can sacrifice anything for the sake of his art!

Fran: That's not for you to decide!

ME: Larry, show us that sketch.

LB: Wh-What? Why? I don't get it!

ME: Yesterday, you said you saw something "crazy."

ME: Does the sketch have anything to do with it?

LB: Even I couldn't have imagined

LB: that Laurice Deauxnim would make his grand debut this way.

LB: Ow!

Fran: Show it! Now!

LB: Okay, but steel yourselves.

LB: This is the world Laurice Deauxnim sees!

LB: Ta-ta-dah!

ME: What is that mysterious flying objectabove the bridge?

LB: Ah, you spotted that. It's as you see.

Fran: A-As we see?

LB: It's Iris, of course!

LB: I can't believe she flew like that.

LB: She's a girl, so she should take better care of herself.

LB: What if she'd hurt herself?

ME: Are you really claiming tohave seen the defendant flying?

LB: Yep. That's why I drew it.

Fran: This is all a bad dream. I hit you on the cheek to test that theory.

LB: Whip your own cheek, then!

LB: So yeah, Iris didn't need no snowmobile.

LB: She could fly, after all!

J: Th-This is hardly believable.

ME: This is Laurice Deauxnim's world?

ME: It's too dangerous!

Fran: Miles Edgeworth!

Fran: Bring this witness back down to earth!

ME: Wh-Who, me?

Fran: Yes, you! This artistis your friend, isn't he?

J: Yes, you are an accessory to his foolishness.

LB: You're an accessory, Edgeworth!

ME: I wish I could send him flyingas high as he is this very instant!

ME: You say the defendant, Sister Iris, flew over the burning bridge?

LB: Yeah. She went all "zoom" ten meters above the bridge.

LB: That was one seriously impressive arc.

ME: And where was she flying to?

LB: No idea. I only caught a glimpse through one of the shack's windows.

LB: And then I started sketching in a frenzy.

ME: But how could you tell it was the defendant?

Heavenly_Hall,Sign: Heavenly Hall

ME: You couldn't have hada good view from the shack.

LB: Who do you think I am? I'm a Deauxnim.

LB: And a Laurice at that!

LB: I have proof, obviously!

ME: What?!

LB: Yep, yep.

LB: After Nick fell from the bridgeand I called the police,

LB: I picked up something crazy there.

J: "Something crazy"?

LB: It was this!

J: I-Is this... a crystal sphere?

LB: Isn't that the thing on Iris's hood?

LB: It must've fallen off when she landed.

Fran: True.

Fran: The hood did have a crystal sphere on it.

J: Th-This crystal sphere has bloodstains on it!

ME: Bloodstains?

LB: This is why I said she should take better care of herself.

LB: Did she get hurt when she landed?

Sign: Objection!

ME: Objection!

ME: There is one thing I can say for sureabout your testimony.

LB: Wh-What is it?

ME: The person in your sketch couldn't have been the defendant.

LB: Huh? What?

ME: On the night of the m*rder, Iris wasn't wearing her hood.

ME: But in this sketch...

J: Oh, you can see the hood right there!

LB: But how would you knowmy dear Iris wasn't wearing it?

ME: That night, she gave her hood to someone.

ME: To Phoenix Wright.

LB: N-Nick?!

ME: What, was he the hooded figure you drew?

LB: No fair, Nick!

LB: What's the deal with you and her?!

Fran: How do you explain that crystal sphere, then?

Fran: It was found at the foot of Dusky Bridge! It's bloodstained, too!

ME: It's too big.

ME: It's obvious at a glance.

ME: That crystal sphere is too bigto be attached to a hood.

J: G-Good point.

ME: That night, there was one person who lost a crystal sphere and left bloodstains.

LB: Who was that moron?

ME: Elise Deauxnim. Your mentor, you moron.

LB: E-Elise?

Fran: Y-You say it was the victim?

ME: As you see here,

ME: her cane has a similar crystal sphere.

Fran: But can you prove that the sphere here was hers?

ME: The evidence tells the whole story.

LB: The crystal sphere is gone!

J: Th-Then, it was the victimwho flew across Dusky Bridge that night?

ME: That would be the logical conclusion, despite the fact that humans cannot fly.

Fran: Objection!

Sign: Objection!

Fran: A fool alongside another fool, on a fool'serrand to reach a foolish conclusion.

ME: What are you talking about?

Fran: Elise Deauxnim was in her room at Hazakura Temple the night of the m*rder.

Fran: There was no reason for herto go to Dusky Bridge.

ME: True, there is no proof that Elise Deauxnim left Hazakura Temple that night.

ME: But there is a chance she did!

Fran: Nothing to say,

Fran: Miles Edgeworth?

ME: Can I really prove it?

ME: No, it doesn't matter if I can or not.

ME: I have to prove it!

ME: Because that is howPhoenix Wright always does it!

ME: This sphere points to a new possibility.

Fran: A new possibility? What is that?

ME: That the m*rder didn't take placeat Hazakura Temple,

ME: but at the foot of Dusky Bridge!

J: Wh-What? We had the scene wrong?

Fran: What are you saying? It can't be!

ME: The victim went to Dusky Bridge that night.

ME: There, something happened that detached the sphere and left bloodstains on it.

J: And that "something" is her m*rder?

ME: The k*ller took her body to Hazakura Temple

ME: and made it look like she was k*lled there.

Sign: Objection!

Fran: Objection!

Fran: Did you forget?

Fran: Hazakura Temple's head nun saw the defendant k*lling the victim in the courtyard!

Sign: Objection!

ME: Objection!

ME: What she saw was the defendant grasping the weapon that had stabbed the victim,

ME: not the moment of the m*rder!

Fran: Besides, it takes ten whole minutes to go from Dusky Bridge to Hazakura Temple.

Fran: The body couldn't have been carried that far!

ME: But there was a snowmobile, wasn't there?

ME: It was used to load the bodyand bring it back.

ME: That makes all the pieces fall into place!

J: Order!

J: Order in the court!

Fran: Only the defendanthad access to the snowmobile!

Fran: And she was seen withher hands on the m*rder weapon!

Fran: The conclusion doesn't change either way!

Fran: Sister Iris is the k*ller!

ME: Franziska von Karma, regardless of your claims,

ME: the defense has now completed its objective.

Fran: S-Say what?

ME: We have shown that it isn't currently possible to hand down a verdict.

ME: This case requires further investigation.

ME: Where was the real crime scene?

ME: Why was the body moved?

ME: And... what does this sketch really mean?

Fran: Y-You can't seriously be claimingthe victim flew!

ME: Her crystal sphere was found at the foot of the bridge.

ME: And her body had bruisesthat indicated a fall from a great height.

ME: More than anything,

ME: this man would never utter a lie that could hurt a girl with whom he is enamored.

LB: E-Edgey!

ME: He drew this, so it is something that actually happened.

J: I order both the defense and the prosecution to conduct further investigation.

J: Court is now adjourned!

ME: My job ends here.

ME: The rest is up to you, Wright.

PW: I'm impressed you held on in that situation.

ME: We're not out of the woods yet, though.

ME: Anyway...

ME: Are you sure you want to leave the hospital?

ME: I must say, uh...

ME: Your face looks awfully green.

PW: Actually, my fever has gone down quite a bit.

Gum: What's your temperature?

PW: . degrees, a light fever.

ME: Always the stubbornest of men.

PW: You're the last person I want to hear that from.

ME: Either way, the key points are the m*rder weapon and the crime scene.

ME: The Shichishito didn't deliver the deadly blow.

PW: Which means there's another swordhiding out there that we don't know about.

ME: That would be the case.

ME: I'll be paying the old precinct a visit. There's something I want to look into.

PW: What is it?

ME: Our client, naturally.

Gum: You mean Iris, sir?

ME: I have the feeling that we've met before.

ME: All I want is confirmation.

ME: It seems I won't be getting that from you.

PW: I'm sorry.

ME: Well, the rest is in your hands.

Gum: Guess we should get moving, too.

Gum: Get in my patrol car, pal.

Gum: Good news!

Gum: They patched up Dusky Bridge! We can cross it now!

Gum: Wh-What is that?

PW: This wasn't here two days ago.

PW: Where are Maya and Pearls?

Gum: We haven't found them yet.

PW: They're in here?

PW: Maya! Pearls!

Pearl: Nick!

PW: Pearls!

Pearl: Nick!

PW: So you were here after all.

Pearl: I was so lonely, I thought I would die.

Pearl: The bridge was gone when I woke up,and I was all alone.

PW: All alone?

PW: Oh, yeah. Weren't you with Maya?

PW: If you know anything, please tell me.

Pearl: I-I'm so sorry.

PW: Pearls?

Gum: I smell something.

Gum: This hot, cool, spicy aroma...

PW: Th-That's... curry!

Gum: Right, curry! This looks yummy—I mean, awful!

Gum: It's making my mouth wat—my skin crawl!

PW: We all ate curry for dinner that night.

PW: Is this the same curry?

PW: How did this happen?

Pearl: It's all... all my fault.

PW: Wh-What's the matter?

Pearl: Mystic Maya!

PW: Pearls!

Gum: Let me handle this, pal. You can't be running around.

PW: This is no time to be useless.

PW: Maya...

God: You look pathetic, Trite.

God: We got lucky, though.

God: The frequent earthquakes in this areahave weakened the foundations.

God: Any excessive impact would've madethe training hall a thing of the past.

PW: Prosecutor Godot?

God: That's a trick lock.

God: The person who set it isthe only one who can open it.

PW: The person who set it... Who was it?

God: Sister Iris, who took over for the head nun here that night.

PW: Iris?

God: I've arranged for her to be brought here. Pray that she gets here soon.

God: Look at you getting all dizzy. Shouldn't you be in your cradle, baby boy?

PW: That aside, Prosecutor Godot,

PW: I hear you no-showed today's trial.

God: Remember what I told you once before?

God: I must do battle with you.

PW: "That is why I've returned from the depths of hell."

God: You see, I've experienced death.

PW: You... died?

God: And in return for coming back to life,

God: I have to deal with a lot of stupid procedures.

God: Regular checkups, replenishing and adjusting internal body substances...

God: Modern medicine is a massive pain, but it's the only way I can live.

God: That's who I am.

PW: So you were in the hospital the entire time?

God: This mask isn't a fashion statement, either.

God: Without this, I can't see your frequently dumbfounded face.

PW: What in the world happened to you?

PW: You should know all aboutwhen my life ended, and who ended it for me.

PW: I do feel a little tug at the corner of my memory.

PW: I think I do know about how Godot was "k*lled."

PW: What's this?

PW: Th-The base of the stone lantern...

PW: There's absolutely no snow there.

PW: Did someone clear it away?

God: I hear the defense claimed in the trial today

God: that the real crime scene was somewhere else.

God: Apparently, this is it.

PW: This is the real crime scene?

God: I'm worried about Maya Fey.

God: After the bridge was patched up, the policesearched all over the Inner Temple.

God: But she was nowhere to be found.

God: The only place left to explore is the locked Sacred Cavern.

God: But the temperature inside frequently falls below freezing.

God: I just hope she's alive.

PW: No...

God: If we don't make it in time,

God: it'll mean you sent a woman to her death yet again.

PW: What's that supposed to mean?

God: There's no way you've forgotten what happened three years ago.

God: A woman died because of you.

PW: Mia?

God: That's right.Maya Fey's older sister, Mia Fey.

God: You k*lled her!

PW: No...

God: Three years ago,

God: Mia Fey made a very dangerous enemy and lost her life.

PW: But I got that guy! Personally!

God: Sure, the m*rder*r was caught. But that won't bring her back.

God: You were with her at the time.

God: You and no one else! You should have protected her!

God: You call Mia Fey your mentor? I'd say you've learned nothing.

God: You robbed her of her life.

God: And now, you're about tolet her sister suffer the same fate!

PW: I-I...

God: Listen up, Trite.
