- No, I think my Dad's finally lost it this time.

- Buying a -year-old French villa

doesn't sound that crazy.

- All that history.

- But it's Ks to the coast,

and it doesn't have any inside toilets.

- Well, my parents wouldn't even look at a place

unless it had four bathrooms, all inside.

- Well, at least it's near the beach.

They bought a three-story pile with its own lake.

- Its own lake?

- No surf when I visit.

You wouldn't have that problem, would you?

Your Mom's still next to the beach, down south?

- Yeah, yeah, wake up in the morning,

open the window, check out the break.

- Cool.

- It's the best view on the South Coast,

the best place in Sea Vista Avenue.

- Sounds like a great house.

Make a million bucks on the circuit,

maybe I'll buy a place, eh?

- Speaking of inside loos,

you reckon it's safe to go back in the house?

- Don't go anywhere near the bathrooms.

Don't even go upstairs.

- What do you mean?

Plumbers said a bit of a job,

two blokes, twenty minutes.

- Yeah, plumber's code.

What he meant was,

blocked sewer, corroded water pipes.

Book my next Bali holiday.

- There's still no water.

I haven't had lunch yet.

- No one's had any lunch.

- You can pick something up on the road.

I'm kicking you all out.

- It can't be that bad.

- You've haven't seen the bathrooms.

Trust me, it is that bad.

Get out of here for the weekend.

Find a motel or something.

- A motel?

- Or something?

Actually, Bali's not a bad idea.

There are some cheap flights.

- We are not going to Bali.

That is a rumor started by Fly.

- Why not?

Surfing left point break in Uluwatu?

- Yeah, I found you a nice left point break, don't worry.

- Sandwiches for lunch, sausage for dinner,

eggs for breakfast.

- That's right folks.

We're camping out at Taylor's Beach.

It's quiet, and when the swells up,

there's good waves.

- Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know Taylor's well.

I've surfed there heaps of times.

- Well, I need fast overhead waves.

I'm working on my air .

- Yeah, we've noticed, mate.

Give it a rest, eh?

Leave it to the experts.

- Ha, ha, ha.

- Hey, isn't Lindarra just south of there?

- Um, yeah, about half an hour off.

- We can go see your Mom.

Surprise her.

- Nah, she's got people staying with her.

- We'll be so close.

You must want to see her.

- Nah, I don't want to hassle her, not this weekend.

- Okay, so we're not jet setting to Denpasar,

I bags the driver's seat.

- No, no, no, Fly, hang on a sec.

- Practice is everything,

I think you've said once or twice.

Plus, I need the highway hours.

- All right, you drive.

But, if Fly's driving, I want no shouting,

no food fights, no back seat driving.

- Mate, the beach will be there in the morning.

How's the ladies' pavillion going?

- Is this some kind of test or something?

It makes no sense.

- Whoa, yeah, you're right Amy.

It's a test.

You put these through the pockets at the top

and it'll hold your roof up.

- You've done this before.

- Never camped in my life.

My parents are strictly resort only people.

This is fun.

Kind of roughing it.

We have air mattresses, right Brooke?

- It's good to slum it once in a while.

Which reminds me, do you think Jilly packed enough food?

- There's always fresh fish if she didn't.

The routine's in my head.

Like a program running in the background.

- It's too choppy.

Thinking it through over and over won't make a difference.

Eric knows the area so well,

I thought he could show us around.

- Sure, why not, there's some caves up near the cliff.

And there's these middens out on the point.

- Middens.

Yeah, that's really gonna fool me.

- Oh come on Mike, you'll love it,

the fresh air, the exercise.

- The spiders, the snakes.

- Stop being such a city boy.

Come on, it'll be fun.

- I'll go check with Amy, see if she wants to come.

- Oh, I already spoke to her.

She's gonna hang around here.

- You sure?

- Don't bother, she's got a book to finish.

On Monday.

- Oh, righto.

- Did you get through on the phone?

Had to climb a tree to get a signal.

The road service here's a mechanic out of Jasper Creek

and he's not answering his phone.

- Up to us then.

My Mom's car did this once.

It was the solenoid.

- Oh yeah?

You know what a solenoid looks like?

- I know what my Mom's solenoid looks like.

- And what will you do if you find it?

- I'll tighten it, check the wires.

I don't know?

- No, first thing we should do is check the battery.

Tighten the contacts.

- It's not the battery, the battery's fine.

I bet you-- - Well it's not

the solenoid either.

- The mechanic will tell us that, then we'll know.

- I'm going to tighten the contacts.

- Fine, go ahead, waste your time!

- I thought fish liked a juicy bit of worm or a prawn?

- No challenge, you might as well buy them

at the fish shop, deep fried.

- So you're just gonna catch them

with a bit of wire and a feather?

- That's the art.

The fish think it's lunch and they bite.

- This doesn't sound like you.

You're more of a jump in and wrestle the fish

bare handed kind of girl.

- I might be if I thought that'd work.

But some things have to be approached

from a different angle.

- Whoa.

Tell me how you did that.

- I can't tell you, I just showed you.

- Okay.

I put this much line out, go back with momentum,

- I'm guessing not.

There's a bit of art in the casting too.

- Okay.

- [Amy Voiceover] This is weird.

I'm looking for the best house in the street.

There's no houses here at all.

- That was a good midden.

- Yeah, sure.

Lots of shells.

- You can see why the original owners liked it.

- Hey look, maybe we should head back,

we don't want to wander too far and get lost.

- Yeah, I think I've seen enough.

There's nothing to do back there until lunch.

So, you said there were caves.

- Yeah.

(dog barking)

- [Amy Voiceover] I took a wrong turn.

Except, I didn't even take a turn.

- Morning.

Is there another Sea Vista Avenue in Lindarra?

- Not that I know of, but I've only been here years.

I'm looking for Mrs Tanner.

She's supposed to live in Sea Vista, but--

- Oh, that'll be Ronnie Tanner.

- You know her?

Her place is down by the point, number three.

It's right at the end, you can't miss it.

- [Amy Voiceover] Eric didn't want us here.

He was in a caravan park and,

he didn't want us to know.

- Excuse me?

You look a bit lost.

- Yeah, fine thanks, just heading back to the bus stop.

- Oh, you'll have a bit of a wait.

The next bus isn't until five.

- This afternoon?

- It's weekend timetables, one bus in, one bus out.

- Great.

- Is there someone to phone?

- You don't mind?

- Course not.

Best view of the South Coast.

- Best place in the Sea Vista Avenue.

I hated fly fishing at first.

- Gee, can't understand that at all.

- My Dad made me fish.

He's a total tragic.

And after a while, I realized I was enjoying myself.

I like where fishing takes me.

- Like water?

- I mean it relaxes me.

We all need to relax.

- What am I doing wrong?

- You're thinking too much.

Try to sense the rhythm of the cast.

- It's about transferring energy from the rod

to the fly line.

It's simple physics, it shouldn't be this hard.

- Will you shut up about physics for a minute,

and switch off the calculator?

Get into your position.

Left foot forward.

Now close your eyes.

- What?

- This is not about science, this is about feel.

Back cast, speed up, then stop.

Feel the line loading the rod,

then forward cast, speed up and stop.

Like a sling shot.

- If I close my eyes, I can't see what I'm doing.

- That's the whole idea.

wet for about years.

- We used to have a little place up in town.

Then we lost Eric's Dad, been here since Eric was two.

Bet he loved growing up so close to the water.

We've been playing around with the engine for two hours

and we still haven't got a clue.

Well, like, if the motor's not ticking over,

it could be a wiring problem.

- Oh yeah.

- Near the ignition.

Under the dash sometimes wires come loose, yeah.

- I didn't know you were into cars.

- No, I've been reading a lot.

Well I might go and check the wiring.

- Hey check out, Corey's been knocking himself out,
