Quazarian Jewelry Shop gets robbed by

police officers on census day in Tehran.

Due to disappearance of a piece of family
jewelry,

Master Mozaffar gets involved.

The six-fingered inspector fails to

return the stolen jewelry.

The mission is finally accomplished by

police officers following Mozaffafls plan.

Sergeant Rajabi is caught by the

six-fingered inspector.

The stolen jewelry is found and delivered.

Master Mozaffar hears the good news

from his daughter-in-law.

The inspector is on a new mission.

Khoshnevis, the calligrapher and his wife

who live together in
Mashhad are introduced.

Disguised, the inspector enters

Khoshnevis's house as a
government employee.

Old Khoshnevis flies into a rage after

what the wicked inspector does.

Khoshnevis and his wife take a trip

down the memories of their youth.

Part Five

[singing]

Dance Classes of Mademoiselle Rena.

Including the latest moves.

Ladies' classes from 10 to 12.

Gentlemen's classes from 6 to 8 p.m.

Mixed classes for Friday preparation

will be from 6 to 8 p.m.

Opposite opera house,

Sevom-e Esfand Street.

Perfect lemon juice at Mozaffar Bookstore,

Almasieh Street.

People who sell lemon juice in

bookstores never get anywhere.

All right.

Let me comb my hair too.

Ready guys? Under sail!

Let's reach the destination.

Pull up the sails!

Charge!

I put your garments in a suitcase so you

won't be left without a shroud, old man.

A bungalow near Tehran.

Who let you sit down,

YOU hypocrite?

Name?

Reza.

- Father's name?

- Mostafa.

Last name?

Khoshnevis.

- Occupation?

- Calligrapher.

- Born in?

- Tehran.

- Resident of?

- Mashhad.

- Your wife's name?

- Ghamar Banou.

- Her last name?

- Jalal al-Molki.

- Your children.

- I do not have any.

Issueless loony!

Do not move.

Come in.

Now this bag is yours.

The previous owner died under t*rture.

Here is a list of the belongings

of prisoner 1642. Sign it.

Sit.

Here, you eat and relieve yourself

in the same container.

See what jerks like you make us do?

Welcome to your new home.

The order for evacuating Eshratabad Barrack

and delivering it to the Red Army.

This is to notify that according to the

order Eshratabad Barrack
must be evacuated...

within 48 hours. The soldiers

will be dismissed and the
equipments will be...

transferred to Qasr Garrison so the

Red Army could enter at the fixed time.

Apparently the soldiers have been

dismissed from the barracks.

They say armed Russians have asked to

settle down in Eshratabad Garrison.

Some governors always have excuses to care

only about themselves
in critical situations.

Nobody remains faithful to

a bankrupt dictatorship.

Even its regular supporters have decided

to leave the country before the cruel king.

Of course they are led to that path

by their deeds.

Poor those innocent soldiers,

oppressed by them.

Most of these soldiers are

shelterless villagers and strangers.

They do not even get salaries so they

could return to their hometowns.

It is very likely that gangsters join

this disappointed innocent army...

and lead them to many wrongdoings.

What to do? Should we leave them hungry

and thirsty as a prey for those criminals?

I have a small amount of money.

We can spend it on bread and dates.

For a few days they will
be provided with food.

Then we shall put our trust in God.

I am afraid the rumor of conscription

will be spread and the army will get 30
thousand...

volunteer soldiers with a monthly

salary of 50 Tomans.

Neither the overthrown king nor the

newly crowned one will agree with that.

The governors who made this army

fall apart were overjoyed to see the son...

getting crowned by the father.

The soldiers who disobey them will

be sent straight to the camp.

I have the responsibility to inform

them about the upcoming events.

Seyed Ebrahim.

- This is not a wise decision.

- It is not a decision but a duty.

I have to perform my responsibility

no matter what the consequences will be.

Do you expect soldiers to listen to a

clergy after 20 years of irreligiousness?

After these 20 years, distinguishing

right from wrong is not possible...

for some wise men either.

But outside the circle of reason,

where love exists, brightness overcomes
darkness.

Today's soldiers do not listen to clergies.

The clergy of Rome associated

with the army of Mongols.

These are our own soldiers,

Iranian fearless soldiers.

[singing]

I have an order to block the door under

the stairs, and keep the rats inside!

Welcome to your new home.

Land of prison. Eventually I was

summoned by this house of lovers.

Chains still thrust in flesh.

Chains! Termites of flesh.

When will you reach the bone?

Chains! Rosaries of the wise.

Can you hear my footsteps?

O' these chains!

Little mount! You are not huge

enough even if you're Damavand.

Cedars are matchboxes from here.

O' connected little instruments!

Why this much noise?

Why this much unpleasant sound?

O' camels!

We have more than you do.

Bells around the necks,

chains all over the body!

Play that instrument old man,

have us entertained.

We reached the destination,

old and belatedly though.

These four walls!

I take thee as a prison not a home.

After all, this criminal guesthouse

Is larger than the house above.

And it shall be a salutary experience.

[Soldiers chanting slogans]

Love is reflected in ache of heart,

No malaise is but like bait of heart.

The lover's ailment has different history,

Love is the astrolabe of God's mystery.

Love is a plaster for all sores.

O' disappointed army! You are

disheartened for you are captivated.

Cry out for your love!

The sound of Farhad's axe on the rocks, was

his song of separation
from his beloved Shirin.

Hesameddin had the same story

when he hardened copper singing love songs.

You soldiers, separated from

battlefields shall go
through the same path.

This is about w*r, warriors!

The lover's world has different history.

Such a magnificent mosque!

The evergreen place of
flowers, trees and rivers.

Such a magnificent pulpit!

Sulfur, steel and catapult.

Such a magnificent sanctuary!

A praying carpet of water and
earth surrounded by fish.

Warriors!

Three foreign countries have invaded us.

The Soviet Union, Britain and America.

People are being looted out

of their properties.

Their families are being assaulted.

However, our people are in high spirits for

it is the government they are angry with.

If you are true warriors,

your defeat is your people's defeat.

Put your trust in God and stay

by your people's side to be conquerors.

[Praying]

O' Lord, save us from lying lips

and from deceitful tongues.

Amen.

O' Lord, purify our hearts with

the light of Isl am.

Amen.

O' Lord, protect these warriors under

your wings and help them
defend their country.

Amen.

I want to replace this cat with you.

Hello doctor.

I will give you a call in the afternoon.

No, I cannot.

I am performing an operation before that.

This place stinks!

Why have you closed the window?

Fresh air!

Before doing anything,

I load my syringe with fresh
air in memory of Dr. Ahmadi.

Oh God!

No. 07, Fard Alley, Ordibehesht Street,

Mokhtari Crossroad, Shapour Avenue.

Tehran.

Whose address is that?

I do not know.

I fail to remember.

I do not know.

I have no idea.

Well?

What about these names?

Lavasani, Madam Lilian, Tajbakhsh...

Nourik Allahverdian, Hermayer,

Little Hassan, Tafazoli, Tahmasbi...

Sadeqof, Sheikh Mohammad,

Dr. Bahram Irani.

No!

What about these words?

Forceps, needles...

hot, awls, cleaver, iron hammer, shovel!

Can you read the address one more time?

No. 07, Fard Alley, Ordibehesht Street,

Mokhtari Crossroad, Shapour Avenue.

Take it.

Take it.

Here you go.

Sit down.

Write down all you know about this address.

Here are some papers.

Let me know if you need more.

Here is a I amp.

Cigarettes and matches.

Should the cat stay?

Let me see if the inkwell is full.

Yes.

You are all set.

Now it is time to celebrate.

Papers flattened with a full inkwell.

Quench your thirst my pen.

Drink!

And start writing.

O' thirsty instrument of the prison time.

Dance on these slippery white pages.

Speak your heart out.

Put this thin sheet of wood on fire.

Lighten up the cold past with your sparks.

Be my narrator. Tell the
forgotten story of Reza,

the distressed man who kept busy...

with art of handwriting formerly.

He still remembers the time

when Mirza Hoda Khoshnevis took him to his
shop.

He gave him a pen and taught him

how to write letters in fine handwriting.

What about this lost hand?

Was it a virgin before sleeping with

you or had it touched sweethearts?

- Where are you going fellow?

- Home.

Are you going to leave your fellow

warriors alone in this situation?

Even the commander ran away.

I am just a drafted soldier.

Real soldiers are those who

show their mettle.

My departure will be a favor to my friends.

The less consumers, the better.

Friends do not leave each other

in hard times.

Your commanders were better off.

They are the members of Red Army

not your commanders.

Perhaps the army will be put together

Now that they are gone.

You are from Tehran.

You are not far from home.

But those soldiers are strangers.

They have no place to go.

Good and bad people could be

found everywhere.

They may even go astray if they have to.

Are you donating those?

It is people's duty to feed soldiers.

Sorry. We could not afford more than this.

You cannot expect much from

such a hungry army.

Hassan, beefs and steaks will

not make you courageous.

Bread and dates would definitely

do if things could be fixed.

I thought our army was the

best after Germans.

But we fell apart as simple as that.

We surrendered without even fighting.

Army commanders put an end to it

by announcing a simple declaration.

They said Hitler was on our side.

If we put our trust in God instead

of Hitler, we would be victorious.

You have a visitor.

Come here boy.

You are too wrinkled.

I would like to iron you.

It is your wife's dress.

It was with the police guards.

The old lady's sweat smells of death.

I met her in her old days.

She must have been pretty
when she was young.

Dance!

[Saying prayers]

Local news: Today at 1 p.m.

Prime Minister Forouqi...

made an important statement

in the parliament:

"I must inform the people and the

legislative assembly about an important
occasion."

"For the reasons I am about to mention,"

His Majesty Reza Shah
Pahlavi has come to...

a decision to resign and crown

"his legal successor instead."

"The content of his resignation letter"

is as follows?'

"In view of the fact that all these years"

of hard work in this
country have exhausted...

me, I believe now is the time to empower

a younger person to take care of the...

country issues so that our people

"live with joy and prosperity."

"For the same reason I have crowed

my legal successor and resigned."

"Today is September 16, 1941."

From this day on, this
nation must recognize my...

legal successor as their new ruler

"and obey him as they obeyed me."

"Marmar Palace, September 16, 1941.

Reza Shah."

Soldiers, get in the car.

We are going back to the garrison.

Get on the trucks.

Hurry up.

Move it.

Hurry.

We are blessed by those who

planted seed in the earth...

whose hands were kissed by

Prophet Muhammad.
