a biofuel diesel Humvee.

and I think we're ready to go to paint.

but I'm going to get some Chinese food.

We have to body-work the hood, primer it,

put the hood back on,
mask it all off, scuff it--

-Where's it coming from? No more flame?

a bunch of oil on the ground.

[Jake] Yeah, there's oil everywhere.

-Can you tell where it's coming from?
-[Tony] No, it's a big mess.

[Jake] Yeah, it's everywhere, Mark.

Is it the biofuel, or is it the diesel?
What does it smell like?

[Jake] It smells like
burnt chicken nuggets.

[Tony] It's definitely our biofuel.

[Mark] Yeah. Diesel fuel and motor oil
doesn't smell like food.

Hmm.

-Caveman, you guys filtered all the oil?
-Yep, we sure did.

[Mark] Give it a minute to cool down,

and then we can get in there
and clean it all up

and then start testing stuff
and see where it's coming from.

The team just installed
a custom biodiesel fuel system

in our off-road Humvee build,

but somehow, we've got a major fuel leak,
and everything almost went up in flames.

Any kind of leaking in
a complex fuel system like this

can have you running around in circles
for days trying to find the problem,

and we don't have days.

The owner of the Jaguar
that we're trying to trade this Humvee for

is entertaining some serious cash offers.

Any major delay on our part
could k*ll this whole deal.

[Mark] You wanna get that cover off quick?

-[Caveman] Whoa.
-[Jake] Make sure it's not hot.

[Tony] Oh, no.

-[Mark] There's oil everywhere.

[Tony] I can't tell
where it's coming from.

everything is right and tight?

[Tony] Yeah, it's put together right,
clamped down, everything.

How about our pump back there, Constance?
Anything coming out of that?

We could do a pretty simple test.

Why don't you turn on the corn oil,
and then we'll see where the leak is.

-Yeah.
-[Mark] It could be a split hose.

It could be a bad unit.

It could be a hose clamp
that chafed the tip of the hose.

-[Mark] Go ahead and turn the switch on.

I believe we know where the leak is.

[Tony] That came out
with so much pressure.

I don't know which one
it's coming out of,

but it's definitely coming out
of the backside of this crossover valve.

That valve holds a lot of pressure,

so if it fails,
we're going to have a major leak.

the auto parts store and go get a new one.

Get that disconnected, marked, labeled.

A deal came across my desk.

It's a client that's looking for something
really different,

Back a minute ago,
when Nick and I parted ways,

I left the door open

so that if Nick ever had
something come across his desk

that fit Gotham Garage,

he could always give me a phone call.

It's not gonna be that I'm gonna end up

Honestly, I was singing your praises.

The client's actually quite familiar
with Gotham

and everything you guys do.

They pretty much agreed
to give you creative freedom on the build.

-Are you interested?

The Ferrari 308 is a very sought-after,
iconic car,

and I think it just might be
the perfect build

to kick off the new direction
for the future of Gotham Garage.

[Nick] The good side is I've been looking
for a car for a few days.

-I think I may have found one.
-Oh, really?

-Oh, yeah.
-And what's that gonna run?

[Nick] He's in the $60,000
to $70,000 range.

That's not a bad price for a 308
that's in good condition.

[Nick] I've seen photos of the car,
and it looks pretty good.

[Mark] So I have this Humvee deal
that we're trading for an older Jaguar.

Then we're gonna sell that car,

so we should be running into
some serious money here really quickly.

Do you think there's any possibility

that you would be able
to get the owner of the 308

to put it back underneath the tarp
for just a short little minute?

[Nick] I'll channel my inner car salesman.

Should be able
to get him to hold it for you.

all that fuel on the ground

is cleaned up really good.
We do not want another kitchen fire.

It must have been cracked before

because it just came off in my hand
when I was pulling the hose off.

Check it out. Got your little piece.

[Tony] If we were in an emergency,

I think we could probably
plastic-weld that back together.

-I mean, an emergency situation.

We'll do a test run real quick.

The biodiesel conversion is
a pretty complex system.

We've added a new fuel tank, fuel lines,
pumps, heaters, switches, valves.

If anything goes wrong
with any of these pieces,

it can be really difficult to figure out.

I'm praying that the crossover valve is
the only weak spot.

So we're going to test it
by bringing the system up to pressure.

We'll start with regular diesel,
and then we'll switch to biodiesel.

And hopefully, we don't get
Kung Pao grease all over the place.

You want to turn the pump on for a second?

So the fuel pump is running.
It's sending the regular diesel now.

before I paint it.

the coolest part of this truck.

Tony actually ran the Humvee motor
for about an hour just to make sure,

and all of the fuel switchover valves
are bone dry.

Not a drop of oil to be seen anywhere.

So now, we're really close
to wrapping this up,

but I've been racking my brain
trying to come up with that one addition,

that signature Gotham Garage touch
that takes this build over the top.

Humvees are so square and boxy
with straight edges and hard corners,

so I'm going to take a super stylish
Art Deco-like dash out of a '59 Impala,

and make it the centerpiece
of this interior.

You know what? I didn't come this far
to half-a*s it at the finish line.

With all the new add-ons
we're giving this ride,

the custom wheels,
the seats, the light bars,

this dash, with its exaggerated curves
and large round gauges,

will be the one piece
that ties this whole vision together.

-What's going on with this?
-It's getting a dash put in it.

You told me this was gonna be in paint.

It's just a dash.
It's already got gauges and everything.

All I have to do is graft it into here
and wire it in and I'm done.

Sean with the Jag has been bugging me
like every second.

Look, he even sent me a text here.

"Can't wait to see my Humvee.
Been waiting a long time."

"I've had custom jobs drag on for months."

"I know you guys wouldn't be
stringing me along. JK."

"I just want it ASAP."

I don't want this guy getting cold feet
thinking he can't trust us.

You know this guy's getting
cash offers on the Jag.

Okay, so he's a little tense,
a little worried,

but I'll have this thing painted
when I told you it would be painted.

I don't see how me taking
a few extra hours to do this

is gonna be a difference in if the guy's
gonna take a cash offer or not.

I feel every hour we delay is
a bigger chance of us losing this deal.

I'm not delaying.

If I gotta work through the night
to get it painted, I will.

Just please, can we finish this up
so I can get a deal done here?

with updates nearly every day.

He obviously wants the Humvee.

It just seems like he doesn't trust us.

a few more days and that Jag will be ours.

We built this Humvee

of what I want to go down into

with the custom Ferrari.

an easy vehicle to trade,

and I'm gonna probably take
about a $20,000 hit

trading it for the less expensive 308.

But I can't wait around
to sell the Kenworth for top dollar

because that could take months.

I need to get this next project
in the shop right now.

It'll get my guys
some well-deserved cash immediately.

It's a '57 Kenworth.
Obviously, it runs like a champ.

We've refurbished everything on it,
the air lines, brake system, everything,

so you can get on the freeway now
and take it off.

My dad used to have a '57 Kenworth,

and me building this truck,
it's kind of like an homage to his,

-what I remember in the front yard.

We hand-fabricated these steel fenders.
They're not the plastic junk ones.

We put LED lights.

These are brand-new wheels and tires
all the way around.

Some of the coolest wheels
I've ever seen.

Last but not least,
it's the coolest part of this truck.

We actually mimicked the '32 Ford grille.

There ain't another semi out there
with a radiator grille shell like that.

-Well, I got a lot of toys in there.

I like what I like.

-This truck does not disappoint.

-I think it'll be a wonderful addition.

[Nick] When Mark called me to trade
his Kenworth for the Ferrari, I thought,

"That's a really specific deal.
That's a strange pairing."

But I think I may have actually pulled
a really big rabbit out of a tiny hat.

[Mark] So let's go
take a look at your 308.

[Nick] I'll let you guys go do that.

-I've got a call to make.

[Nick] Bruce literally has a museum
full of eclectic classic vehicles.

And he has the 308,

and I took a really long shot
just to see if he was interested in

putting this iconic Kenworth truck
in his collection.

Plus, the Kenworth's worth
quite a bit more.

That's what piqued his interest.
I just hope Mark likes the Ferrari.

-[Mark] Well, I like all the toys.

Yeah. You've got a lot of taste
in a lot of different ways.

That's cool, man.

I was kinda worried about the home
that truck would go to,

It looks like it'll fit right in here
with all this stuff.

Well, there it is.


[Mark] That's a good-looking
little Ferrari.

That is a 308 stallion.

If you were alive
and watching TV in the '80s,

you know that the 308 GTS is
the Magnum, P.I. Ferrari,

one of the most iconic Ferraris around.

It was the automotive embodiment
of cool and sex appeal,

taking Tom Selleck's swagger
to legendary status

in arguably one of the most popular
television shows of that time.

This standout work of art
is just as jaw-dropping today

as it was when it rolled out
of Enzo Ferrari's showroom

over 40 years ago.

I'm just impressed
by the condition of the car.

-You drove it with respect.
-[Bruce] Yeah.

The motor says a lot about the car.

[Mark] A motor that clean,
the car is very well taken care of.

[Bruce] Thank you.

So, that's a good sign.

All I wanna do it hear it run.
Can I start it?

-Please do. Help yourself.

[Mark] I like the interior, man.
It looks brand new in here.

[Mark] Sitting in the driver's seat,

firing this machine up
is like living a dream

from a long time ago
when I used to watch a TV show as a kid.

The last two Ferraris we tried to build
did not go as I had hoped.

The difference with this one is,
it's not a Ferrari build,

it's a nostalgia build.

[engine revs]

[Mark] When my guys see
what I have planned for this iconic 308,

they're going to instantly understand
my vision for the future of Gotham Garage.

-That's a pretty healthy-sounding Ferrari.
-[Bruce chuckles]

-What do you think?
-I like it.

I think we just need to go outside,
talk to Nick,

and work out all the details quick.

That's a gorgeous car.

about the Jaguar deal falling through,
and so am I.

But I've been working on something
for a while,

and it's definitely gonna
take Gotham Garage in a new direction.

He just texted me. He's on his way here.

-[Shawn] He?

my new idea.

Well, you need something
with a prancing horse on it,

[Mark] So, you know how these deals are
with these upgrade and trades.

They always get kind of sketchy
and sometimes they fall through,

so when Nick reached out
with this 308 right here,

and the owner was willing to trade it
straight across for my Kenworth,

I took the deal.

[tense music playing]

[Shawn] Wait a minute.

All this time
and all the years that we do this,

and then you don't talk to me about it?

I mean, what's going on here?

You were busy with all these other trades
and other deals,

and this was a really good opportunity,
so I took it.

-And you don't talk to me about it?
-Look, Shawn, you gotta admit,

you had your hands completely full
with the Humvee and the Jag deal.

I just didn't wanna overload you.

I'm a little thrown by this.

I know I've had my head in the weeds
over this Humvee situation,

but I would think
Mark would at least clue me in

that he was asking Nick for help.

I get that Mark has a responsibility
to the team to keep this business going,

and I guess he thought
he just needed to take charge.

I don't know. It makes me feel like
he doesn't trust me anymore.

So, I don't know what to say, but…

Shawn had so much going on
with this massive upgrade and trade deal,

I just needed
to get this next step in motion.

I wasn't trying to do Shawn's job for him.

I was just doing what I think is the best
for the future of the shop.
