cute but sometimes scary seagulls...

It's me, the one and only
fabulously awesome Otter Woman.

I'm here to tell my story.

Summer, I was making a video
about Xus Beach, not Otter Woman.

Did you figure out who's gonna star
in the park blog beach video?

Yeah, it's me. Now, as I was saying...

I'm going to use my Goo Gadget
to take over Xus...

Hey, my wing!

Hey, kids. Now, our blog has room
for more videos that you all can star in.

But I wanna be the star of this video.

I'm the best actor, as you can tell
by my amazing Otter Woman.

It's true. She really nailed how much
I love shellfish. Right, Summer?

Right!

-[squawking]

Well, I have the best poses

for when I have to take selfies
with my adoring fans.

But I've been practicing
my public speaking at our ranger talks.

I'm the ranger for the job,
not Summer or Kodi.

Kids, it's okay
to want to star in the video.

No need to bring each other down.

Ah, your snipping and snapping
is just like the kuyam spirits.

They too are crabby.

That's because they are crabs.

"Kuyam" means "crab" in Samala.

They've tried to build
crab statues out of sand for ages,

but they keep fighting over
who gets to be the model,

and nothing gets done.

They've been building that statue
since we were Spirit Rangers.

It sounds like
they could really use some help.

On it! And then we'll come back
and make my video.

-[Eddy] No, mine!
-[Kodi] No, my video!

Mm. This might be a problem.

but where are the kuyam spirits?

Wherever they are, we'd better move
before we're surf and turf!

Well, I am, but I don't think they are.

Ugh! Snappy, you just knocked over
my precious scooper claw.

It was lacking that special snap.

It doesn't need scoopy claws,
it needs snippy claws.

[grunting]

[Kodi] Haku, we're the Spirit Rangers.

You must be the Chumash kuyam spirits.

Do you need help
building your sand statue?

The last one almost squished us.

There's only room for one statue

and it has to be snappily dressed,
like me. I'm Snapp... Ow!

[giggles] Snappy's statue
is so last century.

The crab we should be building
a statue of is me, Snippy.

[gasps] Hey!

[chuckles] No. If there's anyone
we should be building a statue of,

it's the crab with the scoops
to make it happen.

And that's me, Scoopy!

Well, it sounds like they're not
on the same claw. I mean, page.

[Snappy] Exactly.

And if we can only make one statue

to tell our story
for future generations to remember us,

it should be of a heroic crab
who knows the most crab traditions, me.

No, it should be me.
I have the reddest shell.

No, it should be Scoopy.

Snippy and Snappy aren't even real crabs.
Ha! You're imitation crabs, and I know it.

-California rolls come from somewhere.
-[giggles] You know we're related, right?

Oh. [chuckles] Right.

Then it should be me,
because I'm the best at scooping.

Scoop-a-doop!

Oh, quit it!

[Eddy] Mm.

Scoopy makes a good point.

Wait, really?

Yeah, if there's only room for one statue,
the best scooper should be the model.

It's like how the best public speaker
should star in our video, and that's me.

No, it should be the snappiest crab,

like how the best selfie-taker
should star in the park video.

Since I'm the best actor, I'll make sure
the best pincher gets the statue.

Come on, Snippy, let's get building.

Snappy, let's shock
your statue into shape.

Eddy's ready to scoop-a-doop!

Ha-ha! Now you're scoopin' my language.

-[plays shell loudly]
-[screams]

Let the statue building begin!

[sighs] Why do you encourage them?

These seashells will make great scoops
for my Scoopy statue.

That's Orca-mazing,
but let's think bigger.

Oh! I've been out scoop-a-dooped!

As we all know,
the best statue has the most snap.

I can't give it snap, but I can give it
a speedy seaweed headpiece.

Stingray speed!

[adventurous music playing]

[Snappy] Ooh!

There's no way
they can snap to this style.

We're so snappy.

[seagull calling]

[Summer] Hmm.

It's missing something.

It just needs some octo-flair.

Ink blast!

[Snippy] Wow, that really snips.

-Wow!
-Snippy!

Would ya look at that?

Now, that's beautiful.

These kuyam statues are ray-diant!

Too bad there's only room for my statue.

I'll make it easy
and tear yours down for you. [yells]

-[gasp]
-Keep your snips off!

We all know there's only room for Scoopy.

Scoop-a-doop!

Hey, if it's snaps you want,
it's snaps you'll get.

Uh... maybe you shouldn't try
to tear down the giant sand statues

while we're standing under them.

[screaming]

Kuyam spirits, you have to stop.

-[rumbling]

-[all screaming]
-[Lizard] Squid's tails!

Uh! Orca slam!

Summer, Kodi, are you okay?

Yeah. I'd say I need a hand,
but I've got eight.

I'm okay.

Good thing these stingray wings
are great at blowing sand.

-[Lizard grunting]
-Watch it! Careful!

Oops. Sorry.

Wait, has anyone seen the kuyam spirits?

Almost... [grunts] ...there.

Hey!

Oh, no, you don't.

I'm the only one
that can climb out of this sandpit.

[grunting]

-[grumbling]
-Hey! Snap out of it!

[grunts]

It's not fair for you to get to the top
while I'm down here.

Oh, yeah? Well, my scoops
have something to say about that.

[grunts]

-Quit it!
-Hey!

Kuyam spirits! This is exactly
what our mom was talking about.

Yeah, we'll never get anything done
if we keep tearing each other down.

Or get out of this sandpit.

Mm. I've never thought of it that way.

Maybe we should stop
snapping each other down.

Now you're scooping something
we can all understand. [laughs]

-[Snappy] Shake.
-[Snippy] Snip.

I mean, shake.

[Scoopy] Gentle! Don't scratch my scoops.

thanks for helping us out of the sandpit.

Yeah, turns out there's enough room
for all of us up here.

the Chumash villages,

is thousands of years old,

there's so many stories
this part of the park has to tell.
