01x01 - Episode 1

Post by bunniefuu »

This is New York. City of Dreams.

Land of lust.

This is the town
of expensive apartments

cheap dates and sex galore
with a cherry on top...

or bottom.

These are New Yorkers.

They want it all
and won't settle for anything less.

They don't have to.

There's always something,
or someone better.

This is the story
of four single New Yorkers

who discovered that
the city that has it all

sorely lacks the one thing
they want most...

Being heartbroken, I think

is one of the worst things
in the whole world.

Haven't been heartbroken
in a long time, though.

That's the nice thing
about being alone.

Four New Yorkers who,
in an unexpected twist

have agreed to put their hearts
into the hands of this film crew

who will whisk them
across the country to eight cities

and do the swiping for them.

Wait, what?

This is where they'll end up
with someone to love.

And if nothing else, a romantic story
to write home about.

This is Swiping America.

A rom doc in eight parts.

This is Reagan.

After Ronald Reagan,
but don't judge me.

Reagan is an artist,
a hairstylist, and an Aquarius.

This is Reagan writing on her sofa,
on the floor, at a fire hydrant.

I just write everywhere,
all the time.

This is the guy Reagan married
in Vegas.

She was 22.

I knew it was a bad idea at the time
but what can I say?

This is Reagan's boudoir.

Where I get railed.
I mean, hold hands.

She has lots of robes.

This one's a test for men
to see if they can handle me.

They'll be like, "Are you serious?"

And I'm like, "Yes, I am... serious."

Reagan thinks trying to find
real love in New York

is the worst.

I cry about once or twice a month

about how exhausting
it all is to do alone.

And then I catch up on some TV.

I want someone to hang out with
and have my back.

So long, New York.

This is Kesun.

Like a key in the sun.

She's a New York realtor and a Leo.

Kesun loves that she gets to see

the inside of baller
New York apartments.

Kesun loves to travel.

She once bought
a one-way ticket to Sydney.

She went for the beaches.

She stayed for love.

She brought him back
to New York with her...

And he f*cking hated it.

Who could hate New York?

The thought had never
even crossed her mind.

Never even crossed my mind.

They broke up because
they couldn't settle on a city

they both wanted to live in.

Kesun's best friends
would describe her as bubbly

always down for a good time

and eternally optimistic.

The glass is always overflowing.

Kesun loves New York...

but she says it's a meat market
that doesn't stop for anyone.

She says nobody wants
to grow up here.

Everyone has Peter Pan syndrome.

But Kesun wants a grown-up

and she's ready to break up
with New York to find him.

Bye-bye, New York.

I'm looking for my husband. Hello?

This is Ashley.

But most people call me Ash.

Ashley is an entrepreneur
and a Pisces.

She's Brooklyn-based.

l*sbian.

This is her sexy-a*s husky, Drake.

Ash thinks men are pretty to look at.

I just don't want to have sex
with them anymore.

Ash didn't date until she was 20.

I'm a recovering pastor's kid.

She thinks she's often misread.

I'm not a f*ck.

That said, she's kissed
a lot of pretty ladies.

That's for sure.

Ash is very independent.

She's a world traveler.

I like bougie sh*t.

Five years ago,
Ash worked at Starbucks.

And now I'm the CEO
of my own company.

These are her tattoos.

This is my sex box.

I want to date me... but better.

Ash loves living in New York.

But dating here is trash.

She says it's like pizza
when you're drunk.

It's the best pizza ever.

Then you go have it sober
and it's not that great.

And all the cute lesbians
are married.

What I'm looking for is a partner,
and I just have not met that yet.

Goodbye, NYC.

This is Krishnanand.

But you can call me Kris.

Kris is a data scientist and a Leo.

He's half Indian
and first-generation American.

There's nothing more New York
than that to me.

Kris is modest, charming, funny.

Kris used to be really skinny.

This is his new body.

Here it is from this angle.

And this angle, too.

This is one of Kris's
favorite g*y bars.

Kris says things happen
in New York g*y life every day.

Straights just don't fully understand

some of the situations
we find ourselves in.

Kris met his last
serious boyfriend on Tinder.

Kris thought they'd get married.

And then he broke up with me.

Post-breakup, he's trying
to be more spontaneous.

Kris says New York's no place
for a slow burn.

If you don't make
a good first impression

there's literally 100 guys
around the corner

your date's gonna go hook up with.

Sayonara, New York.

And they're off.

You haven't and I really wanna know.

Asheville? Where's that?

That's in North Carolina, right?

Wait, why Asheville?

What's happening in Asheville?

Oh, my God. So, do I need overalls?

Oh, the horses are beautiful.

Oh, my gosh.
Yeah, that house is so picturesque.

I also love these, like,
literal white picket fences.

- I love it.
- Yeah.

Wow, we really are from the city.

I know!

that are gentrifying the fastest.

I can see that.

Yeah. I wonder what the people
are going to be like.

Show me what
you're working with, Asheville.

Show me what you're working with.

- Oh, God.
- Oh, God.

Hey, guys. My name's Luke.

I'm a holistic human empowerment
and development coach

here in Asheville, North Carolina.

It's my understanding
that you are about to embark

on a dating adventure.

The practices that we will be doing

are designed to get you out
of your head and into your hearts.

So, I do want to talk
a little bit about the ice bath.

So, there's a ton
of health benefits to it.

It's very, very good
for the whole body and the mind.

I will ask for you guys to use it
as shedding and letting go

releasing things
that are causing obstructions

in who you wanna be.

Open the heart,
receive the world through the heart.

All right, are you guys
going in first?

Are you f*cking kidding?

Don't lie to yourself.
It's gonna be cold.

Now look at the ice bath.

Big breath. On the exhale,
step in and fully sink.

Big inhale.

Now step on in.

You got this.

Deep breaths.

Deep breaths.

You got it.

I'm on this dating adventure

because, you know,
I've been in New York for a while.

I've tried a few guys
and it hasn't worked out.

And it's time to try something new.

Let the mind relax.

There you go.

I'm traveling with three new friends,
but basically strangers.

But I want to meet new people

and hopefully kind of
in that vulnerability

I'm going to open myself up to,
like, really great connections.

Start to slow the breath
and the heart and the mind.

- Yes.
- Keep going.

What have I done to meet
someone in New York?

Everything.
I'm on every f*cking app there is.

And so I think I do have
this insecurity of, like

I'm going to be
that 40-year-old cool aunt

that, like, travels the world

but really just wants someone
you can lean on.

Someone that you can do life with.

Hold the breath.

I hope that I end up
with three new best friends.

And maybe I fall in love
with the city

and, like, not someone who's there.

I love New York,
but after the past two years

I can definitely see myself
being ready to live somewhere else.

Breathe. You got it. Breathe.

How many... Has it been, like,
a minute and a half?

Don't worry about the time.
Just focus on your breath.

At this point, it feels like I've met
every single guy in New York.

The challenge is to like someone.

I'm doing this because I guess

I've seen what it's like to date
in New York long enough.

I'm curious what's out there.

I'm curious and I'm excited
about something new.

- That was it.
- Done?

You're done.
You're at two minutes, yes.

Come on out.

- Good job. Nice job.
- Oh, you k*lled it!

Do I still have butt cheeks?

Let's give a good w*r cry.

Ready? On three. One, two, three.

They have to show an adventurous side

so, they have to be,
like, climbing a mountain.

I need a full body.

A nice smile, maybe.

Hobbies definitely
have to be highlighted.

If you start swiping a lot

you'll start to realize
kind of a lot of sameness.

No photos with children,
no shirtless, no photos with girls.

I like a good dad joke.
I'm always here for it.

If I'm swiping

and I see someone that's wearing
some ridiculous costume

it's an immediate swipe left.

This is an amazing house.

There's a swing.

- There's a swing?
- Oh, my God.

Mosie!

Here, let's set the fire.

I'm gonna watch.

It won't stay.

- Do you want me to touch it?
- I think...

I'm gonna be of no help here, so...

Just let the semi-butch
help you out a little bit over here.

Look at Reagan helping.

- I would hate for you to...
- I went to camp.

Should I bring my hairspray out
and spray the logs?

Honestly.

Look at us. It only took three of us.

Let's go meet some Asheville hotties.

I got... I got one.

Let's see them matches.

Oh, my God. This guy's really hot.

Yeah.

He's so cute.

- Ryan is adorable.
- Ryan, 36

- entrepreneur/app developer.
- Ryan really cute.

- Former New Yorker, 5'11", Pisces.
- Yeah.

He works out.

Oh, I got a match.

Oh, my God.

- He's cute.
- Oh, he's cute.

- He's really cute.
- Alright. Alright.

He looks social.

- Did you get one, Kesun?
- I'm scared.

Oh, my gosh,
he has really nice eyebrows.

- He's beautiful.
- Yeah.

I like tacos, too.

His dog is cute.

I'm excited.

Jana. "Together we could co-create

a deep, authentic, playful

hot connection that feels safe."

She seems sweet.

Wow, that seems very you.

- Yeah!
- That description, babe.

Another one.

Wait, is that a good "oh"?

I mean, I like a l*sbian
that is clearly a l*sbian.

- Clearly a l*sbian?
- Clearly a l*sbian.

- The hat. We have l*sbian hats.
- Oh, yeah.

- Yeah, that's a l*sbian hat.
- It is a l*sbian hat.

- "We have a l*sbian hat."
- It's a thing, it's a thing.

- Okay.
- Without the hat

- it could just be anyone.
- Exactly. But the hat? Les.

- Another one?
- Another?

Let me see.

All right.

Isn't he cute?

- Oh, he's cute.
- Yeah.

- He's really cute.
- He's adorable.

- I'm like...
- Oh, my God. Wait, he's so cute.

Oh, this one's my favorite.

- Oh, well, now you have to tell us.
- I don't know how to say

- some of these names.
- Oh, my gosh, he's so cute!

Oh, of course, that is...
Yeah... I like him.

- Yes.
- Ross...

He's a writer, like me.

Cute.

I'm excited to meet all these people.

Did I get five matches?

Look at you.

Oh, I did! I got five matches.

How about we all text one right now?

- Okay. And then we'll, like...
- I like this game.

I like it.

"Hey, it's..."

What's my name? "Hey, it's Ash."

Smiley face.

I don't even know
what to write to my guy yet.

I gotta figure out
what I'm gonna say.

I think I'm gonna voice message.

- Yeah.
- You're confident. I like it.

I don't like sending voice messages.

Hi, Paul. It's Reagan from New York.

I'll see you tomorrow.

I'm very excited, get some sleep...

No, this is bad. Sorry.

Okay, I have to think
of something clever.

Should I actually talk to these guys?

Or should I wait to talk to them
on the date?

Hello, JD.
It's Reagan, from New York.

I'm here in Asheville
with my friends.

Also, I'm an Aquarius as well

and I love adventures, myself.

It's the worst. I can't.

Only one guy's texted me back.

Typical.

Hello, Brent's dog. I mean, Brent.

It's Reagan, and my dog,
my dog's name is Mosie.

I just saw your profile
and very excited for tomorrow.

And we hope that you are, too.

Cute.

It's not, like, cute,
it's weird but I sent it anyways

because I don't care.

I'm into it. I'm into it.

I do want to sleep so that I can just
wake up and figure out my outfit.

Are you going to bed?

- Yeah.
- Goodnight.

- Hi.
- Hello.

Let's hug.

There you go.

Girl Scout Cookies.

My daughter's a Girl Scout
so we have to show some support.

Oh, amazing. Did you buy them?

Or did you get the family discount?

I get the discount, yeah.

Wrong answer.

Hey, how are you?

Tim.

Wow, this is, like...

- This is beautiful, right?
- ...crazy cool, yeah.

The view is amazing.

What are your first impressions
of Asheville so far?

It's, like, beautiful.
I love the mountains.

So, the weather here
is kind of spontaneous.

It doesn't really have, like,
a rhyme or reason to it.

It's just, like, one day
will be 70 degrees and sunny

the next day it'll be 38 and cold.

Like, it's...
it's kind of interesting

how the weather works down here.

- Hey, how are you?
- How are you?

- I'm great.
- I'm Kesun.

- Kesun?
- Yeah.

- I love that.
- Thank you.

- Well, cheers.
- Cheers.

- Nice to meet you.
- Nice to meet you, as well.

- What are you drinking?
- A dirty martini.

Coffee for me is probably the best
relationship I have right now.

- Oh, okay.
- The most consistent.

So, you're, like, a fruity drink guy?

Do you want an umbrella, too?

Oh, that's funny. That's funny.

Yeah.

Hey, how are you?

- Hi.
- Hello.

- How are you?
- I'm well. You look hot.

I just turned 30,
so I've been drinking.

I've been drinking. Yeah.

- Congratulations.
- So, we're not drinking today.

- Okay.
- Yeah, I turned 30 yesterday.

- Happy birthday. Amazing.
- Thank you.

So, you're a Pisces?

- Barely.
- Barely.

So, are you into astrology?

I want to be, it's just lots
of words to remember.

It is. All you need to know
is you magic

and believe what you feel.

- Trust your feelings. That's it.
- Thank you. Thank you.

But you can also be an alcoholic,
so, be careful what you're drinkin'.

You know, I'm not...
I handle my liquor very well.

Yeah, what do you like
to do in your free time?

I guess skydiving
is probably the safest answer.

Safest?

Chest is Monday. Legs are Tuesday.

Wednesday is a little bit more chest.

You know, Thursday's shoulder.

- Okay.
- Legs again.

- Are you crafty?
- I'm...

- It's not, like...
- Hands. Come on...

That l*sbian. I like to build things
with the internet.

Yeah, let's... let's talk
about the stereotypes.

Calm down. I...

Well, I guess...

- Are you nervous? Like...
- Very.

- Oh, my gosh. Sorry.
- How about you?

- Very nervous, yeah, like...
- Sorry.

No... but it's not about you.

I mean, you're very cute, so, like

- it works out.
- Thank you.

- You're very handsome.
- Oh, thanks.

I haven't actually
ever punched anyone.

That's probably good.

I... I don't know if that's good.
I would like to.

- You'd like to punch someone?
- But only in, like

a heroic setting. You know?

Okay. We can try to arrange that.

- That's perfectly...
- You're gonna arrange

someone to mug me?

Now, do you play tennis, though?

- I'm terrible at tennis.
- Of course.

It's just so easy. That was...

It's not easy. It's not.

Would you rather die in an accident
or be m*rder*d?

Jesus.

I'd rather be cold than hot, any day.

- What?
- That's my theory, yeah.

Okay. I would agree with that
only because of, like, pit stains.

Obviously, pit stains, it's a no-go.

I guess accident.

- Why?
- I don't want someone to m*rder me.

Well, how about you? I mean, what...

- m*rder*d.
- Okay, why?

It's dramatic.
Well, okay, honestly...

We're gonna write stories about you.

Yeah. Use young photos of me...

like, my hottest photos.

It'd be a scandal. I... I mean,
look at Jon Benet Ramsey.

She's still relevant.

She looks amazing.

If you were kidnapped,
what would happen?

I'd probably be the first to go,
honestly.

- What do you mean?
- I don't know.

Like, you would... what do you mean?

- I don't think I'd survive.
- Like, what?

What else...

What else?

I wish we had more time,
but, cheers or toast.

Cheers, toast to meeting.
It was lovely chatting with you.

- Yeah.
- Text me.

- All right. Thank you.
- Yeah, cool. Thank you.

- Thank you for coming.
- Absolutely. It was my pleasure.

I cannot believe that he just said

that he would not survive
a kidnapping.

If we were ever kidnapped, then...

You know? What are you gonna do?

f*cking die.

- You did it.
- I did it.

It was fun.

- That was really fun.
- I love him.

I like femme-ish.

So, what would you consider yourself?

Soft masc.

What is this new stuff?
If you... you new age, or soft masc.

We only had femmes and studs
back in the day.

I don't know. But I mean,
I don't... I'm not a person

that is hardcore
into any kind of label.

I am what I am.

I don't feel like
you should have to choose.

That's the beauty of being a human.

Thank you.
I think you're going this way.

Oh, this... which...
which... this way?

- Yeah...
- Alright, I'm going out this way.

- Alright. Bye.
- Be blessed, love.

Very interesting... encounter.

I'm gonna chew this ice.

I don't think gender
is so "boy and girl."

And it's not new age.

That was the only part where
I got a little... little offended.

I'm like, "Ugh." I'm like...
I just... I can't. I hate that.

So... I just...
I don't like that part, but...

I'm not a butch

and I am not a femme.

So, like, what the f*ck
am I to people?

To go on dates is scary
because I'm not...

normal l*sbian.

You know, and I think
I do have that fear of, like...

is there someone for me?

Is there someone who wants
this soft masc thing that I am?

Oh, I mean, strap-on. Right?

One of my favorite things
ever created.

I love a good strap-on.

But I am also down to be strapped.

So, I... yeah, I am very fluid,
and I didn't even know that.

I like to say I'm, like, soft masc.

So, what does that mean?

Like, I definitely have top energy

but... I know a lot of masc people
that would never wear makeup.

I love my makeup.

Like, that's not gonna change.
I love lipstick, I love looking cute.

I love the things
that make me a woman.

Yeah, I... I would say,
like, soft masc.

I don't think that's a thing,
but... here it is.

I had always been, like,
sexually attracted to women

but didn't do anything about it
for many years

because I grew up in church.
I'm a pastor's kid.

And that was never on the table.

I remember I was 18, 19.

Lost my virginity
to a 40-year-old woman.

That was super on the DL

because I still lived
in my parents' house.

We were definitely f*cking
in my parents' house.

And my dad came home,
and I heard the garage.

He comes in, he loses his mind.

He's like, "Get out."

You know, and he told me that,
like, you know

I could never watch
my little sister again.

I've only prayed to not be g*y once.

And that was that day.
I was just, like...

I just don't want to be g*y anymore.

It's gonna cost me my... siblings.

It's gonna cost me my family.

And so, yeah, I didn't...

I didn't date for, like,
two years after that.

I was just... no.

Like, I can't... even fathom

you know, losing them.

And at that point in my life,
church was super important to me.

And I was like, I can't give up
this community that I have

and I'm never gonna be able to have
this community and love a woman.

My relationship with my family,
it's so different now.

We're not close, we are...
single text on holidays.

I'm, like, completely aware
that my fear of rejection

comes from my family.

I know that. And I hate that.

- My girl.
- Welcome back, Reagan. How'd it go?

It was so much more fun
than I thought it would be.

Like, I was, like,
oh, yeah, I'm just going...

I was kind of thinking of it,
like, as a day of work.

But this one guy
was so fun to talk to.

- Yeah?
- Yeah, he's a journalist.

- Was his name Ross?
- Yes.

Does anyone want wine?

Yes, please.

Kris, how were your dates?

You were super excited
about some of them.

Two went really well.

And the second guy, his name's Ryan

he and I are, I think,
are pretty similar

because he's very...
he's a little bit more calm

and, like, maybe reserved.

The last guy was Adrian.

He has, like, a dazzling smile,
and it's even better in person.

He was just, like, super disarming.

And I was so anxious, and with Adrian

immediately, the walls dropped down.

He's just, like, really cute.
And he just makes me smile

and that's not something I prioritize
in a relationship, but...

What, smiling?

- No, that sounds silly, but, like...
- Kesun's gonna say it.

I'm just, like,
a really serious person.

Let's fix that.

And so, for me, afterwards, I was
like, "I don't know who to choose."

Kesun, tell us about your dates.

No, Jeremy was really sweet.

And I would've enjoyed
a longer conversation with him, so...

In New York, would you have gone
on a second date with him

based off of the 30 minutes you had?

Yeah. He's someone
that I would've probably...

like, if the date ended
in the same way

I would've been like,
"He was really nice.

I would definitely
hang out with him again."

And he was very tall,
which doesn't hurt.

Do you find it fun or funny to talk
about sex or does it embarrass you?

I like talking about sex.

I'm kind of, like, a nice frat boy.

Okay, so, this is maybe me
being a... a weirdo

but, like, I keep thinking
about my mom.

Oh, my gosh, he came in his eye,
or his d*ck was huge

or his a*s was great, or something.

My mouth is on your vag*na?

Sometimes I get, like, hot and sweaty
when I talk about sexy stuff.

Just 'cause I get, like, shy.

Mosie, come here.
Wanna get ready with me?

I hardly ever talk about sex
with my friends.

I lost my virginity later on
than most of my friends

and I felt totally guilty.

I thought God was mad at me
for, like, five years.

All I ever did was try to keep
my number as low as possible.

Really. It's very impressively low.

I'm not that slutty.

Mosie is trying to say

"I know you're going out,
and I better be coming."

The church definitely
affected me sexually.

I still feel bad sometimes
for kissing boys.

I'll be like,
"Oh, man. Such a sinner."

What's your date?

I'm going to, like, a swimming pool.

Oh, yeah?

On the top
of the Empire State Building

- or, what's going on?
- We're going swimming.

- I'll...
- I'm wearing a swimsuit shirt.

I mean, I like it.

Today, I am going out with Jordan

and we're going foraging,
which I've never done before.

So, I'm excited

because I like to do things that
I would never, ever do on my own.

I also love my outfit for foraging

'cause what the f*ck am I wearing
for foraging?

So, that's kind of funny.

When she walked in, like, her smile,
like, really, really got me.

Like, "Oh, my God,
you got a great smile."

I like her style.

And just her energy was, like,
very warm and welcoming.

And she seems like someone
I could, like, learn from.

And that's something I want.

I'm kind of, like,
do I wanna wear the beanie?

I do wanna wear the beanie.

And this is when you know
you're on a date

because you're, like, overanalyzing,
like, everything.

I'm like,
"Do I wanna wear the beanie?

Am I gonna be sweaty in this shirt?"

It's okay.

I look like I am a detective
in Law and Order, but it's okay.

It's okay.

- Hey.
- Hey. How are you?

- I'm good, how are you?
- Good. We're gonna...

- You look amazing.
- You look amazing.

- I like your boots.
- I love your jacket.

- Hi!
- Hey.

My name's Natalie.

Nice to meet you, I'm Ashley.

Ashley, nice to meet you.

- I'm Jordan.
- And Jordan.

- Nice to meet you.
- Yeah.

So, we're gonna go do some foraging.

Yeah, I brought this
little basket for you.

I love little baskets.

So, I don't know if y'all know,
but you're going to dinner tonight

and some of these ingredients are
gonna be woven into your meals, so...

- Oh, yeah.
- I like it.

I forget how city I am until
I go outside in this kind of stuff.

This is the only way
we find our food down here.

So, what we're looking for now
is tiny white flowers. Yeah.

Oh, good God.

Don't mind me. I'm a professional.

- That's for you.
- Oh, what? Thank you.

I am a gentle lady, what can I say?

- You foraged for me.
- I did.

Traditionally, this one was eaten
with bacon grease and onions.

I like bacon. Are you a vegetarian?

- No.
- Okay, cool.

- You're not?
- I eat whatever.

- Yeah.
- I got a roadkill squirrel

in the fridge.

You got a squirrel?

A roadkill squirrel
I gotta process, yeah.

You... you're gonna eat a squirrel?

Yeah.

My friends got a roadkill bear
the other day.

- What? That's awful.
- So...

It's awful, but it is so delicious.

Alright.

- Hi!
- What's up?

- How are you?
- How are you?

- How's it going?
- Good, how are you?

- Good to see you again.
- You too.

All right. Here, after you.

I like your little... What is this?

- It's a suit.
- It's like Madonna.

- What do you wanna get?
- You wanna get a wine?

- Yeah.
- What kind of wine?

- I don't know.
- Dry? Sweet?

Let's get, like, a cheese.

- I'd go gouda.
- Okay, perfect.

- You cool with that? Okay.
- Yeah.

- All right. Okay, thanks.
- Cheers. Thanks, y'all.

- Good luck.
- Bye.

- Cheers.
- Yeah, cheers.

Thanks for coming.

Thanks for...

Well, honestly, I chose you
because you acted so strangely.

- What?
- It was really

when you were, like,
knocking on the table...

- I never did that.
- You... You did it twice.

You did this... You were like...

And also, at one point, you were like

"Too long... Too... too late."
But it was...

- Yeah.
- weird.

- Okay.
- Okay.

- Yeah.
- Why did you say yes

to another hang with me?

Nah, you were interesting.
A little sass.

Good personality, good energy.
You do have a good energy.

- Thanks. Same.
- So, all... all those good things.

- Yeah.
- I love energy.

When's your birthday?

May 13.

- You're a Taurus?
- There you go.

- You're an Aquarius, right?
- Yeah.

What's that? Gimme your...
your personal take on Aquarius.

I'm an air sign,
so, that means I'm, like...

you know, you're an earth,
we're the opposite, basically.

Opposites attract?

Thanks.

Are you spiritual?

Deep question.

I grew up Mormon.

- Really?
- I was homeschooled.

So, I was, like...

sitting around
learning bible all day.

Jeez. Yeah.

But then sometimes
we would go to, like, the opera.

Or we would, like, sew.
That was cool.

Or I would learn how to, like, bake.
I would make bread.

We made bread, homemade bread,
all the time.

Great skill.

I mean,
it was a lot of housewife stuff.

I know. My mom was like,
"When you grow up

and you're somebody's wife..."

What was it like?
All your siblings were there?

Yeah. It was really hard
in some ways.

- Yeah.
- I had never understood

socializing at all, which is crazy

because I was so extroverted.

All I wanted to do was, like,
hang out with other kids.

I would, like, watch
from my living room window.

I would, like, look out the window

and watch kids get off
the school bus.

And I'd be like,
what was it like for them?

Do they pass notes?

I thought I would pass notes,
you know?

And then I was always like...

- That's kinda tough, right?
- It was. It was sad.

That's what I write about.

I'd write about how sad it was
'cause, like...

I really, like, longed for that.

Oh, sorry, I didn't mean
to scratch you.

That's alright, you touch.
There we are.

I'm shy.
I don't know how to touch people.

That was kinda awkward, sorry.

- You wanna come to my house?
- Yeah.

- Let's do it.
- Cool.

All right. We'll bring these.
We'll share these with people there.

All right.

I feel like I know you.

Tell me something
I don't know about you.

I was in ROTC in high school.

- That's cool. I wanted to...
- Is it?

I wanted to do it,
but my school didn't have one.

I mean, I don't if I would've
made it. I would've tried.

It's not difficult.

- Don't lie to me. It is bootcamp.
- Oh, I did go to the gym.

Yeah, you have to run and sh*t.
I don't like to run.

So, your turn. Okay.

When I was a good Christian

I used to, like, lead
the worship team.

So I can sing a little bit.

- I won't sing.
- Oh, that's adorable.

NSYNC or the Backstreet Boys?

I loved the Backstreet Boys
when I was 12.

Don't do it. Don't do it.
Is this our first fight?

- Yeah.
- Wow. I forgive you.

- Alright.
- Mezcal.

Gin, lime, Green Chartreuse

and a little bit
of Maraschino liqueur.

- Cool.
- Enjoy. Cheers.

- Thank you, sir.
- Thank you.

I don't know what any of that means.

I don't know what the f*ck he said.

I'm just gonna switch it
and just make it super deep.

What do you think is the hardest part
about being a l*sbian?

It's... The first thought is, like,
it's so easy now.

You know, because I've gone
through the hard parts.

I... I did the struggle
of being in the closet

hiding myself.

Literally would go home
at night after hanging out

with my friends in high school

and just sob in my car

because I couldn't be myself
around them.

But actually living my life
as a l*sbian now

I'm so happy to be doing that,
that I just...

- I feel so much joy.
- Great. Yeah.

But I can't, like, you know.
There's hard things to everything.

It's hard finding people
to date, you know?

That's like... And then finding
somebody that you like.

We have such a small pool
to work from.

- It's absurd.
- It is.

I think when, like, you come out

you don't realize how small the pool
is going to be.

- Yeah.
- I'm happy I met you.

I'm happy... Yeah, I know.

- I found a good one.
- Yeah.

I'm like, that's weird.
Where have you been?

- In North Carolina.
- No, I mean... yeah...

All right, word has it we did
a little bit of foraging today, huh?

- We foraged.
- We may have.

So, we have made you

the mafaldine and harissa pasta.

- Ooh, I love harissa.
- Amazing.

Yeah, with a little bit of...
of some wild grass pesto

with some roasted oyster mushrooms
you guys got today.

- Start there. Cheers. Enjoy.
- Thank you.

Cool. Mushrooms first.

- Okay.
- Happiness.

You picked a good mushroom.

So did you.

We foraged, we conquered,
we had good pasta.

I think you're such
an awesome person.

- Thank you.
- I've had so much fun with you.

And I didn't think that
was gonna happen, like...

- Me neither.
- I...

I just took, like, I...
It's that kind of, like...

I feel like I've known you
for a while.

Yeah, right?

You're just a very open
and genuine person.

And I kind of feel like I could
tell you anything, kind of thing.

Oh, no!

Well, you could, honestly.
Like, you could.

And I feel that about you.
Like, you're really cool.

I think you're very beautiful.

And you're, like,
very smart and funny.

And, like, I do feel like
I've known you forever

- and I feel like...
- That's good.

Yeah, like, we just
share space really well.

- Which is refreshing.
- We do. It is refreshing.

Because that normally doesn't happen.

So, yeah, I mean,
would love to see you again.

I'm very down. Yeah.

All right.

Jordan, she is such a warm person.

That makes me believe that, like,
there's someone out there

that sees me for me.

I know that exists, but I don't think

I've really experienced it
often enough to believe it.

She's such a good human.

- I'm gonna walk this way.
- Cool.

We'll see what happens.

- One more hug.
- One more hug.

Oh, my God.

Beautiful boy.

- Ashley.
- She's adorable.

- Oh, my God!
- I like her.

- That's amazing!
- We have good chemistry

and she's funny.

Wait, did you guys kiss?

No, I didn't kiss her.

But it sounds like you want to.

I do. But I was like

I don't need to. I don't need to.

And I know... Like, we've talked
about how I'm in heat.

You know what I'm saying?

- Oh, yes, we have.
- So, I'm not trying to use her

for my... my level of heat right now.

You don't need it, but I think
you would benefit from it.

Of course, I would benefit from it.
And that was it.

You both look so cute. It's gross.

- You look good.
- I'm gonna take a screenshot.

Honestly, I can't. I could cry.

I'm not going to.

I can't. Why are you both...

I'm a forager, b*tch. I'm a forager.

- Hi, guys.
- Hey, Reagan.

- How's it going?
- Good, how are you?

Reagan brought him home.

Holy sh*t. Oh, I gotta go home now.

- This is Ross.
- Hey, what's up?

- Hi, Ross.
- Kris, Nice to meet you.

- Nice to meet you.
- Hi, I'm Kesun.

- Nice to meet you. It was Kris?
- Yes.

Yeah. She briefed me.

- Welcome.
- Yeah, this is awesome.

- Do you want a drink?
- Yeah, let's do it.

What are you guys having?

There's some Prosecco
in the fridge, I think.

Oh, nice. This is the kitchen.

This is awesome.

All right, let's see what we have.

Skim milk, beef stew.
Who's is this? This yours?

- Ah, for the dog.
- It's Mosie... Mosie's.

Oh, I had some Girl Scout cookies
that another man gave me.

Cheers.

Cheers.

All right, let's get into it.

- What are we... just kidding.
- Yeah, what's there to get into?

Well, we went to this hot springs,
but we're doubtful.

We think it's just a hot tub
in the woods.

- That was nice.
- I thought it was great, yeah.

We took a little pee break
on the way back at a gas station.

I don't know, I'm trying to think
of some, you know, roses and thorns.

Was the pee break a rose or a thorn?

- A rose.
- Yeah.

- Are you good?
- I'm good for that one.

Gas station love.

Yeah.

Yeah.

- Let me show you around.
- I'll follow you.

All right.
Let's see the rest of the house.

Hey, you wanna go downstairs?

- What?
- Nothing.

All right.

That's so funny.

Ross and I had another drink.

But he left. I mean, we just,
like, talked for a little while

and then he left.

I felt shy. He was cool.

I mean, he kissed me.

It's always fun to kiss someone
for the first time.

He's cool. He's...
I think we'll stay in touch.

He said... he said,
"We should text more.

Maybe not every day,
but we can keep in touch."

- I love that.
- Oh, my gosh.

- I mean...
- I totally think

we're 100% on the same page.

Like, we just, like, had a good time.

And I think he's such
a big personality

I don't feel responsible
for his comfort level.

And, of the other people,
I think I did.

Like, I wanted to make sure
they weren't nervous or anything.

Yeah, that's what I was saying.

He's actually the type of guy
that I will very frequently date

for, like, a month

and then stay friends
with them forever.

I told you this, too.

I don't wanna say
Ross isn't relationship material

but he's definitely, like,
the fun choice.

You know, I chose the fun choice,
which is

what my heart always tells me to do.

I don't know.
Maybe I have... commitment issues.

There's so much out there still.

I'm seeing Jeremy again today.

We had a really nice conversation

and he's definitely my type.

Adrian and Ryan. I like both of them
for different reasons.

Ryan and I have a lot in common

and I feel like
we have similar sensibilities.

But Adrian and I certainly
had more of a spark.

To be honest, I don't think
I know much about him

which I think is good.
I don't know if he has a job.

- Hello.
- Hi, nice to see you again.

Nice to see you, too.

- What's up?
- Hello.

- How are you? You look great.
- Thank you. Nice to see you.

Thank you for having me
at these gardens.

This is a little bit more...
Oh, look, a squirrel.

This is a little bit more adventurous
than I thought it was going to be.

Ready to get f*cking lit?

That's the plan.

You have an accent.

- Like a Southern?
- Yeah.

- Do I, really?
- It's cute.

I'll take that.

I'll take that.

I'd say you'd categorize yourself
more as a glamper, not as a camper.

- Glamper, for sure.
- Okay.

Same, honestly.

- All right. To a good start.
- Cheers.

I'm starting to see the appeal
of a family future.

Not that I want kids right now
or anything, but, like

my womb is starting
to tell me, like, "Hm, maybe..."

Oh, my God.

Someone asked me
what you did for a living

and I was like,
I honestly don't know.

- We didn't talk about that.
- Law enforcement.

Right? Surprise.

Yeah, let me know
if you ever wanna hang out again.

Do something.

All right.

- You be safe, okay?
- You too!

- It was a pleasure meeting you.
- Thank you so much for coming.

You're welcome.

Hi.

- Can you see us both?
- Yes. Hello.

Hi.

He was really nice. I...

And honestly, I don't have
anything bad to say about him

as a human being and as a man.

There was a little bit of, like

that spark was definitely,
like, not...

It was, like, about to, like, light

and then it just, like,
kind of didn't.

I think it's safe to say
that he's probably not my husband.

Well, that's nice.

Okay, bye, b*tches.

Bye.

- Hello?
- Hi.

Hi!

Oh, my God.

- When did you get back?
- I got back, like

a few minutes ago. So, honestly,
a similar-ish time as you.

So, your date was shorter?

Yeah. I was kind of waiting
for it to get fun.

I get that. For me, like

when the awkwardness went away

and, like, the spark
wasn't there anymore

I was like, "Oh, I don't know
if I am actually

that romantically attracted
to this person.

There were things
I just stopped being interested in.

- Should we move to the bedroom?
- Yeah.

I feel like this deserves
a cozy little bed situation.

Yeah.

Ross just sent me a meme.

He's... he's, like, obsessed with me.

- And you love it.
- My rose is flirting.

I love flirting with new people
and telling them all the...

my favorite jokes for the first time.

They didn't know... they didn't know.

They don't know the materials.

Kris, what are your roses and thorns
and all those things?

My roses...

I think, getting comfortable
with you guys.

The dates are honestly
just, like, the icing on the cake

because I feel so much more excited

about having three new best friends
and, like...

I know, I really...
I had that thought today, too.

I was like,
these people are really, like

on their way to be my best friends.

I'm like, you're coming
to my wedding if I have one.

If I don't,
we'll pretend to have one.

It'll be a party.
We'll call it a wedding.

- Whatever.
- Yeah.

This week, I learned that it's okay
to have fun in... in dating.

Jordan's, like, just a genuinely
good human being that is attractive.

But am I attracted to you
as a potential partner?

And, like, that is
what I'm excited to see

if I can kind of determine that more.

Because I don't know.

And I'm going to Miami, so...

well, who knows? But I'm open.

After having met Adrian

I don't think I see him
as a romantic partner.

But we are about to leave

and I'm really excited
to put myself out there

because, lately, the more
I've been putting myself out there

the more I think
I've been receiving a lot back.

And I don't wanna stop that.
I wanna see what happens.

I'm on this adventure
because I'm looking for my husband.

But whatever happens

it's really fun to have
a group of people

who are kind of going
through the same thing

and just having a shared experience.

I'm just really excited
that it's us as a group.

It's gonna be so much fun.

I know, it's exciting, right?
Come on.

Come on, Mosie.

- See ya, Asheville.
- Bye, Asheville. Smell ya later.

We're going to Miami.

Hello, Miami.

I would like to say something
about my daughter.

I think it's important.

Because I haven't talked
about her on any of the dates.

The reason it's so hard to talk about
is because it's so complicated

and so it's very hard
to talk about quickly.

It sounds really sad
if you talk about it quickly.

So, that's been on my mind
a lot this week

and maybe that's another reason
why I chose Ross.

I was like, I'll never have to talk
about this with him.

We just get to maybe do keg stands
or something together.
