What shall we call you
now that Darcy's gone off

to wherever she came from?

I'm Clara.

[Ashley] Tell us what happened.

I tore my hamstring in rehearsals,

and I was told if I kept going,
I would rupture it and need surgery,

so, unfortunately,
I'm headed back to the farm.

[Ashley] Tell us
how Dance Monsters has been.

This has been such a gift.

I didn't dance for two years
before coming here,

and I didn't ever think
that I was going to dance again.

So just being here
and being able to dance as Darcy,

it's just made me fall in love
with dance again.

-It's been a dream.
-Yeah.

Listen, as a dancer, I hate injury.

It always seems to stop us
at the worst possible time.

Hello, team, how are we doing?

Yes.

Well, as Darcy has left the competition,

there won't be
a snap elimination in this heat.

But the pressure is still on,
as once again,

after all of our monsters have performed,

three will go straight through
to the quarter final,

but two will have to dance for survival
in the ultimate dance-off.

Top-level dancers
need to rise to every challenge,

so not only will they battle
against each other,

they'll also have to hold their own
on stage with a professional

and this time, that's going to be

little old Pussycat Doll me. Hey.

-Yeah!

Oh!

[Ashley] There's a lot at stake.

So, Ashley, what can these dancers do

to up their game
as we move on in the competition?

We've spoken a lot about upping your game,

upping your level from character
all the way to execution and detail.


is no small amount of money,

and we're not just going to give it away,
you're going to earn it.

You get nervous because you want
to do a good job, you want to do well.

We all know what it's like, right,
to stand backstage waiting to come on

and just feel that bubble in your belly.

I already said it.
I have to go to the bathroom.

I think that this time around,
the competition has gone way up.

[Beti] I think since we made it,
now to this second round,

that everybody
is kind of in the mindset of,

okay, where do we go from here?

We had a great introduction

and now it's, like, we've got to continue,
either maintain or exceed expectation.

Let's get a monster on, shall we?

Not all that scary, but he's hella hairy.

[Ashley] It's Beti!

Beti's back, baby, let's go.

My first performance was amazing.

That confidence
that Beti gives me, you know,

to try things
that I might not have tried as myself.

It's incredible.

You know how to command a stage.

[Ne-Yo] The moves that you were doing,
there were some hip-hop elements to it,

but I would like to see
a little bit more hip-hop from you.

That first round went incredibly well

but I know
that I don't want to just sit back

and stay at the same level.

Ne-Yo asked for more hip-hop,
and I am delivering more hip-hop.

I am pulling out
just a little bit of magic this go around.

When I was a kid, I was bullied
because I was never into sports.

I was always theater, dance.

Magic is one of those things
I used to fit in.

Trying to figure out
how to impress people, I think.

So the choreo this time around
has gotten a lot harder.

With all the tricks in here,
you know,

there are some big ones,
really athletic tricks.

I'm nervous about them,

that I execute them properly.

Especially because one of them
is at the very tail end of the piece.

And it's a big finish
and I can't come out of it sloppy,

so the pressure's on.

I want to be in this competition,
I want to get to the quarter finals

and actually get to go far
and win this thing, you know.

of great moves that I loved,

but I think that sometimes
you were pulling back.

that I can do more and be more.

A few years ago, I was very close
to being a professional dancer

but then had a major injury

and I didn't know
if I would be able to dance again.

This dance is about finding
the inner strength

to come back from my shoulder surgery.

Believing in myself again

more energy

I still don't feel like I know you.
You can literally make it up.

Overall, I liked your performance,
however, I expected a little bit more.

I think what we're saying
across the board now is,

more personality.

So, you don't only need to show us
how technical that is,

you need to show us
how you can express using your technique.

And if you can match those two things,
you will be a serious contender.

Honestly. So, just find that magic.

I do think I need to kind of show
who she is more inside

and use that confidence
to bring her to life.

That first dance meant a lot to me.

You're the most beautiful dancer.

[Chester] I think that when Ne-Yo said,
"show emotion",

that's my goal as a dancer, you know,
is to make people feel what I feel.

But it definitely
ups the pressure for this week

because I need to up the performance.

For this piece,
I'm definitely doing something emotional.

Got to get this right.

I've been torn between football
and dance for many years.

So this dance is about a battle
between football and dance.

Can you guess which one's going to win?

I'm pulling everything
that I have out of me.

I added a tricky move
called a butterfly twist,

which I've never attempted
on stage before.

So it is a big risk.

I'm supposed to be a dancer.

So there is a lot of pressure on me.

It was just an amazing experience
to finally tell my story

and finally showing
that dance is what I want to pursue.

I think that, for me,
is my favorite performance so far.

For me, this competition
is about finding your monster,

but then projecting that
through your technical skill,

and you do that.

That's the kind of performance
I want to see to win a show like this.

So, honestly, Chester,
you nailed it. Well done.

your movement
is just absolutely k*ller to me.

It's like you know when to let it breathe,

It's really just amazing

I don't know
which one I liked better, to be honest.

The first dance or this dance.
And that's a good thing.

Being one of the panel's favorites
is a lot of added pressure.

I feel like it's extremely hard
to live up to that expectation,

and now I have to work harder.

And that's a scary space to be in.

This is so crazy.

Other than dance,
my happy place is my motorcycle.

When I first got cancer,
I needed an escape.

Getting on a bike and heading out

just allows my mind
to go blank and feel free,

so this routine shows that.

I've always been very, like, precise.

But this piece is about release.
It's about letting go.

That's one of the biggest challenges.

You could totally botch it.
And, you know, look a hot mess.

I can feel my heart in my stomach.

What did you think of Miss Candy?

So much emotion.

I feel like you said a lot
with that dance.

You were telling a story
while you were dancing, which I loved,

it's just like, this is me, you know,
like, this is what I feel right now

and I want to just, like,
dance just to dance, you know,

not just like be perfect
and precise, so I really liked that.

[audience applauding]

What I love about you, Candy,
is the way that you connect to the music.

Like, you feel music, don't you?

Yes. Yeah, it's something
that surges through my blood.

I can see that.
One criticism I would have is that

you need to project your personality
using your technique.

You set the bar really, really high
with your last performance.

I had really, really high expectations,

and it's not to say
that you didn't meet those expectations,

but I think, me personally,

I think I prefer more
of the tightness and sharpness

of what you gave us the first time,
to this style.

Maybe take some of the freedom of this

and some of that precision
that you're accustomed to

and kind of cram them together.

-You can do that, right, Candy?
-Absolutely. Absolutely. Yes.

[Ashley] A couple of things
to work on there,

but we'll have to wait and see
if she's one of the three monsters

that will go straight through
to the quarter final.

The feedback from them
was really, really helpful,

like, especially marrying, kind of,
the first style with the second style.

Just really bring
the precision and freedom.

The sharpness. I prefer that style on her.

But that's taking nothing
from her as a dancer...

-...because she found a way

to take choreography
that I didn't necessarily like

-and make me enjoy it still.
-And make it her... Yes.

I kind of have to take
my personal preference hat off.

was the wake-up call I needed.

Being in the bottom two

when I'm stuck on an oil rig at 3 a.m.,

I almost wanted you to pick up with it.

maybe just not as much
as I would have wanted you to.

I think you wobbled
a little bit at the end,

but you're actually the monster that most,
I was impressed of how much you grew.

To me, hands down, Chester's in.

After that, it gets tough
because you've got monsters who were great

for completely different reasons.

-I'm nervous.

-It's such an intense moment.
-Hundred percent.

Yeah.

My heart is pounding.

I really like Flame, right,

because she really brought it
from the last time.

In my personal opinion,
I feel like Flame and Peaches

-are two sides of the same card.
-Exactly.

Like, Flame gives you all
the technical skill and no personality.

[Ne-Yo] Peaches gives you
all the personality

-and no real technical skill.
-[Lele] All right.

This is better
than her original performance,

so she's leveling up.

[Ne-Yo] But can she get to where
she needs to be before it's too late?

The competition today
has, like, sky-rocketed.

Candy.

She comes on and she's like "bang."

[Ne-Yo] Candy, you get a lot
of really great technical dancing.

But I got to say it,

I just don't know
if she has any further to go.

[Lele] There was no memorable moments.

I honestly don't know if we've seen
much of that at all from Candy.

-I love Beti.
-I love watching Beti.

But I think he's one of the least
technical dancers

-in the competition by a long way.
