[epic music playing]
[whimsical music playing]
[man 1] Whenever you're ready, okay?
[man 2 straining]
[man 3] God, this is so stupid.
[man 4] No, it's not. It's great.
Listen, this is gonna turn out perfect.
This is the way it's supposed to be.
With... Yeah, that's f*ck'...
No. Yeah. Yeah.
[chuckles]
Rumor has it
somebody in the tribe's been cheatin'!
We're gonna find out who!
Chicken, what's your excuse?
- Lean protein!
- [man 2] Bacon.
- This is the best I've looked.
- [man 2] Steak.
- Nice and rare.
- [man 2] Eggs.
- Protein every morning.
- [man 2] Soda.
[soda] I'm a diet, sir!
[laughs] What did you say? Diet?
My .308 says otherwise.
You got ten seconds
to get your no-good, diet, subprimal a*s
the f*ck outta here.
One, two...
ten!
- [g*nsh*t explodes]
- [music swells]
- [man 2] Yeah, yeah, boy!
- [group exclaims]
- [man 5] This is so stupid and g*y.
- [man 6] You know Tropic Thunder?
Where Robert Downey Jr. says,
"Never go full ret*rd"?
- We just did it.
- Yep.
But look at who's saying that.
I mean, I guess my deal is
the only way to go is full.
[lively guitar music playing]
Liver is king!
- Why eat vegetables when you can...
- [boy] Eat testicles!
An influencer known
as the so-called Liver King...
- Liver King!
- Liver King.
- Liver King.
- Liver King.
His whole shtick is
if you just eat the stuff he eats,
including animal organs,
you could get the big muscles that he has.
His diet. Liver, eggs,
maple syrup, and testes.
- You eat ba*ls?
- Lots of ba*ls.
You ever ate a p*nis?
Lots of penises.
You eat vag*na?
I've been working out
for the last 35 years.
The last 15 of those years,
I've been living an ancestral lifestyle.
If I can do it, you can do it.
And you can start
to tap into your potential
and express the best version of yourself.
- Yo. You saved my life, bro.
- Oh, my man.
You're in buff shape.
I'm trying to be like you.
Yo, you inspire me so much, bro.
He said, "I want a million followers."
[man 7] In one year, he had millions
following his mantra, "Liver is king."
[man 2 laughing] Liver is king!
And... so the story was born.
He rapidly became a massive star online.
He's the muscle Andrew Tate,
and people are buying into it.
- Oh, yeah, yeah, boy!
I follow Liver King.
- I like the dude.
- His philosophy's pretty interesting.
I think he's entertaining.
Yeah!
Give me your liver, b*tch!
Can you guess what's for dinner? [laughs]
[booming laughter]
This is the way. The ancestral way.
I think one question I do have is,
"What defines 'ancestral'?"
Is this carnivore diet good?
Is it terrible? Is it fake?
He has invited
a lot of "natty or not" discussions.
A bunch of primals keep asking
if Liver King is natty or not.
This guy expects us
to believe he's natural.
[tense music pulsing]
The Liver King thing drives me nuts
'cause that guy's on steroids.
[Liver King grunting]
[echoing] Again, for the record,
I've never taken steroids.
I don't think he's natural.
He does not take drugs.
He does not do steroids.
[man 8] People would come to me and say,
"Bro, come on. He's on steroids."
I would say, "No, he's not."
He told all of us, "No."
Think if I was on steroids,
I would have these appendages down here?
Do you see
how f*cking little my f*ck' legs are?
f*cking hell.
The message that Liver King is preaching
is actually a great one.
- Is it, though?
- He's one of these people you'd trust.
Be honest.
Because you have a huge community
of people that are following you.
Leaked emails, blood test results,
and it is shocking, to say the least.
People always ask me,
"How do you stay so fit?"
[man 9] Who is Liver King?
[Liver King exhales]
[man 10] What everybody is interested in,
and why we're here, is, like...
"What the f*ck happened?"
- [man 11] One of these people you'd trust.
- [man 12] Lying.
[man 13] I don't think he gave a f*ck.
[interviewer] Did you mislead people?
[tense music swells]
[music fades out]
[birds singing]
- [energetic music playing]
- [Liver King grunts]
When you get to the d*ck,
every single time, though, it's like,
"Oh God, the d*ck." Like...
You just gotta get
right past the f*cking d*ck.
That's why I'm pausing.
I'm buying time right now.
- God, the d*ck.
- [whimsical music playing]
[Liver King] The f*ck' d*ck.
My name is Brian Johnson.
You might know me as the Liver King.
I used to hate my f*cking life,
and now I've made my f*cking fortune.
[whimsical music continues]
[Brian] Good mornin', primals!
[teens breathing in unison]
[dogs whining]
[woman] How was your workout?
[teen] It was all right.
It was harder
'cause I'd tooken the last few days off.
I know. That's why I was askin'.
If I've done
around 600 or 700 push-ups before dinner,
then I'll get about 300
before going to bed.
So about 1,000 push-ups a day is my goal.
This is what I want
to encourage people to do.
You don't have to do ten minutes like me.
You could do three
or do one max-effort set.
I guarantee you have the time.
You know, you just got to figure out
a way to carve it out, fit it in.
You know what?
I could be stoked on how I look,
and if I don't feel good,
that doesn't mean anything.
So, you'll see,
I... I do more of this for my head.
[bright music playing]
[Brian] And so, that...
that's whatever I need to deal with.
And I know that there's sh*t to unpack.
Trust me, I know.
[projector whirring]
I grew up in San Antonio, Texas.
My dad died when I was younger.
Philip Johnson.
He was a veterinarian
who was practicing in the Air Force.
You're gonna lose your dad
at one or two, you never knew him.
You're not gonna have that model of a man
to be able to connect you to what it is
that a f*cking man is to begin with.
My mom just says
the most beautiful things about him.
[speaking inaudibly]
[Brian] My older brother,
I just wanted to be like him.
You know, growin' up, that's all I wanted.
He's tall. He's big.
He had underarm hair, you know?
He could grow a mustache already.
The girls liked him, and the guys
wanted to hang out with him, you know?
No one wanted to hang out with me.
Man, I was a runt.
I was little Brian.
Then I would go to the mirror,
just start to study what I'd need to do.
"How can I change... to change this?"
- [indistinct chatter on tape]
- [Brian] And so, I went to the gym.
And got strong.
[energetic music playing]
[Brian exhales]
[weights clank]
[Brian] I remember the sounds.
It's f*cking clanging and banging.
Nonstop rattle.
And you're hearin' the grunts.
[Brian groans]
The smell of Bengay.
[strains]
It was like
the most beautiful f*ck' playground.
There's a million ways
to f*ck yourself over.
Everyone took me in, showed me around,
would spot me,
tell me what I was doing wrong.
I felt like a part of the club.
Oh, I didn't even realize
how much time I spent in that gym.
[laughs] As a kid,
I spent all of my extra time in that gym.
Let me tell you
a story you won't f*cking believe.
My first f*cking time
I ever came in my life
was on a bench press.
[moans loudly]
- I swear to God.
- [panting]
Probably turns out that I probably needed
to come a long time ago,
but I'm f*ck' benching,
man, and I felt it comin' on,
and I couldn't f*ck' believe it.
Oh, I figured out what masturbation was
after that, man.
"How do I get that back?"
'Cause I knew what the vision was
for me and my physique.
That was gonna get sculpted.
[breeze blowing]
[Brian] I saw Schwarzenegger.
I couldn't believe it.
[narrator] Warrior.
[Brian] Conan the f*ck' Barbarian.
[narrator] Thief.
[Brian] It was the most aesthetic,
beautiful, perfect thing I had ever seen.
- [shouts]
- [sinister music playing]
[Brian] But Rambo First f*ck' Blood.
I could've k*lled them all.
Oh, f*ck. Like...
It reminded me a lot of myself.
[epic music playing]
[Brian] There was an opening of light,
and it was those movies.
I really needed some hope.
[epic music building]
'Cause watching those movies,
they were the best f*cking closest thing
I probably had to a dad.
I made the exact man,
the savage f*cking king
that I always wanted to be.
I could be my hero.
[adventurous tune swells, fades out]
[energetic acoustic guitar music playing]
[teen] Y'all are lucky
to have shoes. [chuckles]
I'm Rad Ical Johnson, and, uh, I'm 15.
I just like working out, really.
I mean, I know it's good for me.
My dad, I mean,
one of the best physiques
I've ever seen, I would say. [chuckles]
I definitely want to look jacked.
I mean, why wouldn't I want to?
I do want to be pretty built,
but not, like, always stuck here,
with my arms and everything.
[Brian] I'm really focused on making sure
that my boys grow up to be men.
To believe in themselves.
To become the young men
that I'm teaching them,
that I'm raising them,
that I expect them to become.
[Rad] "Progress equals happiness"
is what my dad says.
- And I do agree with that.
- [Brian] Stryke and Rad...
You know, those guys were weak.
Look at the camera. Say your name.
- Rad.
- [wife] Rad?
- And how old?
- Want me to sing another song?
- [Brian] Yeah. In a few minutes.
- [woman] Yeah. In a couple minutes.
Right from when they were little,
babies, constant rashes on their skin.
They would eat stuff and throw it up.
Coughing constantly.
Their eyes are swollen.
Their breathing is off.
Bags under their eyes.
They're pale, and...
And then, we would rush to the hospital
because... there... they can't get air in.
[Brian] We'd be in Starbucks,
and Stryker stops breathing.
So my kids are dying.
I'm not even thinking,
"How am I gonna raise good kids
that love their lives?"
I'm just thinking, "How do we
f*ck' keep our kids alive? Period."
And there's no solution to the problem.
We kept going to doctors.
Almost everything they told us to do,
okay, we did it.
Well, nothing just worked.
- [Barbara] Okay. Play some music, okay?
- Can I make a video?
[Barbara, echoing] Wow!
[intense music playing]
[Brian] One day I'm just like,
"Okay, f*ck this,"
and I just started reading
and reading and reading.
And when I learned about Mark Sisson's
ancestral way of living,
I thought, "Oh sh*t.
This seems interesting."
Well, this is the way
we evolved for millions of years.
It kind of made sense.
We evolved with sun.
We evolved with these sort of organs.
We never had processed food ever
in our lives.
I threw out everything out of the house.
All the boxes went.
There was nothing in there.
[chuckles] Just bone broth,
liver, and meat.
The diet changed everything.
Our life and the kids' life.
Right away.
The ancestral lifestyle worked.
It's the Ancestral Brothers, and today,
we are gonna drink some raw eggs.
That'll make you f*ck' believe
in something, man.
[Rad grunts]
That was disgusting, yet very ancestral.
[Barbara] And that's when he said,
"Hey, you know, liver is
this beautiful thing we're all missing."
"That we've had for years,
but nobody's eating that now."
- That's when I decided, "Holy sh*t."
- [music fades]
"Organs are really f*cking awesome."
"I'm going to make a company
with all nose-to-tail stuff."
People always ask me,
"How do you stay so fit?"
I started Ancestral Supplements in 2016.
Liver was first because in the early '20s
and '30s, liver was used as a medicine.
I have about four ounces of raw liver
in here. Still chunky.
I loved having it.
Delicious.
Kind of forcing it upon other people.
I'm gonna add a bit of olive oil.
When they took it,
they would say, "I feel something."
Everyone should be on liver.
I believe this will help people.
Why raw liver after a workout?
It has all the micronutrients
and raw materials that you need
to rebuild and get stronger.
The evidence is clear.
I turned my apartment into a f*ck' lab
to sell liver in pills.
Know how many people
said that would be a great idea?
"And now you're gonna f*cking buy it?"
"Who would buy it? Every month, you know?"
[laughs] Well, it turned out
about 250,000 people
thought it was a good idea.
I think it's a really cool company
with a really good outlook
or mindset as to what they want to do.
This particular supplement
changed my life.
I would say after a week or two
is when I really started to notice
just that you have more energy.
Grass-fed beef tallow.
What I saw was all the reviews.
Look at all those reviews.
2,746 reviews. Five stars.
Liver went great.
I mean, everyone's buying it.
We started to grow.
I knew I needed help.
Because, I mean, at this point,
I was doing 20-plus hours a day.
[announcer] If you're sluggish these days,
you're not alone.
Modern diets lack the dense nutrition
your body craves
to support optimal health.
That's why you should consider
beef-organ supplements.
[man] I was impressed
with Ancestral Supplements.
The business had been growing
12% a quarter,
every quarter for five years.
I'm Ben Johnson.
I'm the CEO of Tip of the Spear,
which is our, you know, holding company
for supplement and lifestyle brands.
This year, Brian's businesses
will do over $100 million in sales.
[epic guitar music playing]
In a day and age of people
who say one thing and do another,
he was doing exactly as he was saying.
I call myself
"the CEO of the ancestral lifestyle."
How did our early ancestors live?
You didn't have shoes,
so you'd connect with Earth.
You had to f*cking move to live back then.
You had to do hard sh*t.
Ate heart, liver,
brain, thymus, and testicles.
[interviewer] How much testicle
do you eat a day?
[interviewer laughs]
I just make sure it's beef testicle,
and I eat... one ounce?
One ounce is three times a day.
Yeah, one ounce, three times a day,
so three ounces.
Yeah.
And I just put some hot sauce in it.
That's my breakfast,
dinner, and then snack before bed.
That's it.
'Cause women also need testosterone.
I don't need crazy testosterone
'cause I'm not an athlete,
but to keep me healthy and balanced,
between estrogen, testosterone?
That's why.
There's people, they say they do this,
but they don't really do it.
It's just for the social media.
But this is our life.
Here's what we have in the pantry.
There's our eggs from the ranch.
They're fertilized eggs.
I mean, the kids have probably
about 15 raw eggs a day.
And then I have some natural supplements
in case anybody gets sick.
I know when Stryker broke his leg,
he was with a broken leg
for a whole night.
'Cause we didn't know it was.
Two bones were broken,
with no pain medicine.
Because we didn't know, and he didn't ask
because it's not in the house.
So, it's like...
it's not even in his head to be like,
"Mom, I need some pain medication."
Pain is pain.
Like, it's not gonna k*ll you.
But the stuff
that you'll take to get rid of pain,
just for temporary relief,
is a lot worse for you.
So... yeah.
[upbeat tune playing]
The guys are pretty tough.
[Rad] It's kind of
just my way of life now.
Simple things you can follow.
I mean, they're really not that difficult.
I mean, sometimes it can be hard to do,
but they're not complicated.
Eat good food,
don't eat Oreos, stuff like that.
Sleep. Just get good sleep.
[indistinct chatter]
So... [chuckles]
this is the bedroom, basically.
On the floor. And, um...
[music ends]
This is all, like, EMF-shielding stuff.
It helps protect...
The EMFs from the phone, yeah.
[Rad] Our friends are like,
"You don't think this is helping you?"
I'm like, "Have you ever heard of
Chernobyl before? Radiation?"
"You know that radiation has to be real."
"So... it's definitely something
that can harm you."
[indistinct chatter]
[Stryker] I think it's health is the thing
that separates what we're doin'.
[Brian] I'mma test you.
How many push-ups equals one carb?
- [Stryker] Three?
- Yeah.
- It's my job to make you boys men, right?
- [both] Mm-hmm.
[Brian] You know, I've put
these systems together, this structure,
but I'm so proud,
and I have this calm about me
that you guys have transformed
into just something so beautiful.
I love you, guys.
I could die tomorrow,
and I'd want you to say what?
- [Rad] Good.
- Good. Good. I did my job.
[Barbara] I feel like we've built
a super strong base for them,
being here with us.
[Brian] Do you know what this stuff is?
[Stryker] Steak?
- Yeah, but, "Steak!"
- [laughs]
Or whatever way you...
But not, "Steak?" Just not, "Steak?"
- Yeah, I didn't know.
- Try some, then.
[with conviction] Steak.
- [Brian] I'm ready when you guys are.
- [man] Okay, gonna start off with Stryker.
[Brian] No, you always start on me.
- Of course.
- Three, two, one.
Liver King and...
Stryker the Barbarian.
This is what we're having for dinner.
Walk 'em through it.
[Stryker on laptop] Some primal meat.
We're gonna have some steak...
That's how you get a bunch of views
on Instagram.
Do you guys know if you just let it keep
playing over and over, you get more views?
You knew that?
Someone just told me yesterday,
so I leave it on all the f*ck' time now.
- [Brian] Liver King and...
- [Stryker] Stryker the Barbarian.
[Brian] In 2017, I started
to call myself the Liver King.
One of my best friends
and partners in crime had told me,
"You should go on Instagram."
"Everything you f*ck' talk about,
man, it makes sense."
[Brian] If you ever want to go
to the next level, hug a tree.
Just put your hand on it
and feel its being.
"Nobody's like you. No one's like you."
[energetic music playing]
[Brian] I knew where I wanted to go
with ancestral living.
If Coke and McDonald's
can harm the human condition
and become a mainstream f*cking message,
well, so can doing some good.
Hold on. I don't know if it's recording.
Is it? This is...
- Oh, the seconds are going.
- [man] Yeah.
I didn't want to be on a f*cking camera.
[man] Just because we're filming
doesn't mean it's being posted.
I'd never done it before. It was foreign.
Uh, so, tribal bonding is really
um, is really one of the most...
I wasn't articulate.
Um... [chuckles] Not really sure
what else to say about it.
I was scared of doing it,
and now I'm f*ck' saying,
"Good morning, primals."
Good morning, primals.
And I'm doing 100 takes for a Story.
A hundred takes.
[man] Three, two, one.
- Liver King here.
- [voices overlap]
[Brian] Something that I knew
I couldn't f*cking do...
Liver King here
with words on legless rope climb.
...I took the leap to do
because of the message.
[man] We first met Brian in 2021.
When we talked to him,
he said, "I want a million followers."
"We're gonna change the world."
My name is John Hyland,
uh, co-founder, CEO of 1DS.
We are a hybrid marketing,
branding, and talent management agency.
[upbeat acoustic guitar music playing]
[John] There wasn't a lot of media about,
so I didn't know much going into him.
Oh, hey.
He had some pieces
on Ancestral Supplements' Instagram.
People are hurtin'.
People are strugglin'
and sufferin' today with mood issues.
Anxiety and depression.
It was, "The modern man is weak.
We've lost our way."
[Brian] Spend time connecting
with the world and with your family.
His kids were sick.
My kids were really sick.
Found this ancestral living thing,
and there's nothing more that seems to be
in harmony with nature.
And so, we got behind it
because it all makes sense.
When you see the benefits
start to take shape,
you'll probably never go back.
[John] So when I saw the opportunity
for this guy
to actually come out with a message
that was extremely empowering,
we laid the full weight of our company
to, like, make this
the most impactful mission we could.
- [John] This is what we need.
- Yeah.
- [John] This is amazing.
- Yeah. All right.
Wait, that's on airplane mode, right?
- [John] Oh, yeah.
- Good to go.
He was new on camera, and so,
um, we pitched a lot of different stuff.
Crazy ideas from the beginning.
Um, but he brought it back
to not being comfortable doing that stuff.
We saw views jump a bit
on something that he wasn't completely
in line with doing.
We're like, "Trust us. Let's go."
Got it picked up on a couple channels,
shared it to some of our channels.
It pops off, and he's like, "Aha."
He... he quickly got the game.
[upbeat rock music playing]
[John] What we were tasked with was,
"How do we package this up
in a really snackable, marketable way
for social media and digital?"
We are gonna create core content pillars
around the Nine Ancestral Tenets.
How do you achieve a high-level physique?
And you know what my answer is.
It's live the Nine Ancestral Tenets.
The Ancestral Tenets are the life forces
that have nourished us,
our DNA, for millions of years.
So, the tenets are sleep...
Primals, Liver King's not saying,
"You have to start sleeping
on a wooden pallet from day one."
But I am saying, "You gotta do better."
Eat, move.
Does Liver King really eat all this stuff?
I'm here to tell you
and show you that I do.
Today we're having
a couple of pieces of tongue.
Here's my first piece.
It's called push-ups
before dinner, b*tches.
Carpe f*cking diem.
Seize the day. Seize the carp.
Seize the opportunity.
Get to work. Earn it.
Liver King here.
Ancestral Tenet four is "shield."
What this means is,
turn off your Wi-Fi at night.
You don't need this while sleeping.
Get your cell phone away
from your d*ck and ba*ls.
Stop wearing xenoestrogen-laden perfumes.
The fifth Ancestral Tenet is "connect."
- Connected.
- Grounded.
Anchored into the Earth!
The sixth Ancestral Tenet is "cold."
Yeah! Liver King, out!
Ancestral Tenet seven is "sun."
It's the easiest tenet to get.
Nothing more rewarding
than enjoying the sun with my boys.
What up, primals? Liver King here,
talking to you about
Ancestral Tenet eight, which is "fight."
It's in every man's ability
and responsibility
to protect his inner-circle tribe.
So, if you come
to the Liver King compound uninvited,
this is what you'll be met with.
A small army wielding a Kord,
a Five-seveN, a Staccato, a 500.
Primals! We're here at Liver King Ranch,
doing what we do best.
Ancestral Tenet nine,
bonding with my family.
But that doesn't mean
you can't light it the f*ck up!
When you sleep, eat,
move, shield, connect, cold,
sun, fight,
bond like your brother buffalo,
when you live primal,
when you live closer to the Earth,
robust health, strength, happiness.
This is a freedom.
Now, obviously, the most polarizing
of these are "eat" and "move."
What are the crazy things he's eating?
And what are
the crazy workouts he's doing?
[man] Okay, "Liver King here. Too easy."
Liver King here. Last pull. It's too easy.
[Rad] I remember him, like...
the first video he made
was pulling around a truck
with a chain on it.
And I was like, "Yeah.
I know this is gonna go crazy
if he's already doing something
like that."
I went all in on Liver King.
Primals! Primals! Primals!
Why liver?
Every alpha organism
on the planet goes for the liver first.
He consistently got better.
[Brian] Liver King here.
I have 50 fertilized fresh eggs
from my farm.
Beyond Burger. I've heard of these things.
Let's give it a shot.
Finally, when I had the opportunity
to go on a podcast...
[Logan Paul] Are we... Are we rollin'?
- We are.
- Hold on. Let me figure out logistics.
Tons of f*ck' cameras... and an audience.
There's millions of f*ck' views, man.
I'm a quaking, motherfuckin' mess
for the month up to that time.
Ladies and gentlemen,
we have the Liver King in the house.
It's such a pivotal moment for me.
But I did not sleep for a month,
and I studied 10 to 12 hours every day.
And didn't see the kids or my wife...
Because I knew I couldn't say no.
This is the whole reason I signed up.
Let's go, bro!
I'm a fan. Jake's a fan.
My dad is a fan.
The Pauls are fans of you, bro.
I loved it.
It seems like a lot of the science behind
and direction and approach
for your... for your work is moving forward
through looking backwards.
[Brian] This is what our ancestors ate
for millions of years.
This is what enabled us to become
the baddest f*cking mammalian predators
that ever lived.
I'm amped as f*ck
to be able to show the world my story.
My kids were really f*ck' sick.
This was about 13 years ago.
Uh, my kids were taking hospital rides,
ambulance rides
'cause they couldn't breathe.
'Cause they were having
anaphylactic shock.
They were having
these severe allergic reactions.
And so, I learned about
this ancestral living thing, right?
Did you look like that...
this, at that time?
I'm 45. If you look at Brian...
This is Liver King at 45.
You look at Brian Johnson at 20,
Liver King's gonna f*ck'
m*rder that guy.
I... I believe that.
- He'd probably eat his testicles too.
- [Brian] Yeah.
Logan Paul introduced me,
really, to the rest of the world.
Liver King has been going
absolutely bananas all over the Internet.
Blew up on Instagram.
He's pretty big on TikTok.
He's definitely making a splash.
[Rad] The first, like, two months,
I was already getting recognized
by people, and so I kind of knew,
like, a lot was going to happen.
[Brian] The king is back in Las Vegas!
Yeah!
- Oh, my man.
- You saved my life, bro.
- I love this.
- Hell yeah.
Sometimes they'll say
how Liver King's ways changed them,
which is always really cool to hear,
that they started doing stuff
and their life got a lot better.
- [both exclaim]
- [Brian] "I like what you're doing."
"Hey, that's f*cking awesome. How come?"
"Because I used to have psoriasis.
I went on carnivore. It went away."
"f*ck yeah, bro. Tell me about that."
I just hit day 111
of being on the carnivore diet.
[woman] 100-pound loss
on the carnivore diet.
Twenty kilos in the last six months.
The eating he's promoting is good,
high-quality food.
People who are having problems
are looking for an answer.
And sometimes a big muscleman
with a beard is exactly what they need.
I lost two stone with one kettlebell,
watching your videos.
- [Brian] Better energy?
- [man 1] Much more.
- Better mood?
- Better mood.
You know what that's called?
A better f*cking life.
[man 2] You're one of my inspirations.
[Brian] Thank you.
The meticulous architecture of this
made it what it is.
[Brian] Primals! I'm going to attempt
to eat my body weight in testicles today!
We're gonna be doing
a whole reaction on Liver King.
[munching]
- [slurping]
- Oh no!
Polarizing stories win.
So, this is what Liver King
gets to eat for dinner today.
[John] You have to capture, keep,
and then ultimately monetize
people's attention.
Go get an ancestral supplement.
- Eat liver every day. Take this.
- Don't have one of these?
There's liver and testicle in there.
The Liver King Bar has just gone live.
- Had a Liver King Bar?
- Really good.
- It's really good!
- Liver is king.
[all] Yeah!
I'm starting to f*ck' have fun.
[upbeat surf rock playing]
[Brian] Doing the kind of crazy sh*t...
Happy f*ck' Fourth of July!
...that probably you would only think about
in your dreams.
[shouting]
I had the momentum, and it continued.
I'm going on podcasts.
[host] The man, myth,
legend, the Liver King.
Liver King, in the building.
I f*cking kicked a*s.
[chanting] Liver! Liver!
There's a better life, and the path
to that better life is ancestral living.
But embracing that primalness...
I think that's that path to happiness
you're talking about.
It absolutely is.
It was almost like being on cocaine
or something.
How would I know? Yeah, I've done cocaine.
It was on spring break.
[laughs]
We have videos
with hundreds of millions of views.
Most of those are on X.
I think the higher views on, like,
TikTok is probably, uh, 40 million.
I think.
On IG, it might be 20 million
or something like that.
That felt like...
new levels of invincibility, you know?
That kind of feeling is, uh...
dangerous.
People will come to him and say,
"Hey, my daughter's pregnant."
"Because she started doing
what you talk about."
And so, there are, um, people
whose lives have been impacted,
but the... the naysayers are loud.
I'm gonna spoil it right now.
I don't think he's natural.
I'm surprised how many people
believe this bullshit.
Yeah, reality, the likelihood
is extremely low that this guy is natural.
This guy f*ck'...
expects us to believe he's natural.
So, again, for the record,
I've never taken steroids.
- Really?
- I'm thinking about it.
Yeah.
Now everyone's talking about it. Steroids.
Be honest? Like, you...
you definitely take PEDs.
[Brian] I'm gonna be honest.
- I'll be honest.
- Here we go.
- I take PEDs.
- [host 1] Yeah?
I prioritize, execute, and dominate
every f*cking morning...
[host 2] Steroids. Primal? Subprimal?
[host and Brian] Subprimal!
Do you know how rare it is
to have a physique like that
and not be on steroids?
[Brian] Right from the inception,
everyone's asking.
You know, this has nothing to do with
the f*cking message.
If it has nothing to do with
the f*ck' message,
why are we going to talk
about me and steroids?
So, I would just get past that
real easy. "No."
Talk to us about whether you use drugs,
steroids, anything to get this physique.
I love this question.
I've been getting this since high school,
and it's done more
to lift the Liver King brand and message
than any other question.
The short answer is no.
As somebody close to him,
people come to me and say,
"Bro, come on. He's f*ck' on steroids."
I would say, "No, he's not."
Like, "He works harder
than anyone I've ever seen work."
He told all of us, "No."
This is what I say to people
that make this accusation.
"If you don't believe this is possible,
then I suggest
that you take that self-limiting belief,
put that sh*t in a f*cking box,
and bury that
next to your embarrassing sh*t,
and don't open your f*cking mouth
about it."
"Let that live with you."
It was very much like,
"No, steroids are not even a question."
So much so that we're creating parodies
and content.
What up, primals?
It is time to put the rumors to rest.
I just got my blood work done,
and the doc is on his way
to give me the results.
"We did find something unusual
about your blood."
[heart thumping]
I knew it!
- Primal!
- Primal!
[distorted] Primal!
Today we're gonna be talking
about Liver King again.
Derek, from More Plates More Dates
and a lot of fitness influencers
out there,
do all of my marketing for me.
You guys haven't seen
my "Natty or Not" on Liver King,
it was pretty well-received,
and it actually resulted in him
reaching out to me.
We may collaborate
on something in the future.
Who knows what that'll be.
Primals need to know
how hard Liver King's Chef Lionel
works on Saturday!
[Ben] Today's attention environment
is f*cked up.
You have three seconds
to grab someone's attention,
for them to watch your content.
And so, when you let that feedback loop
influence your communication
and your strategy,
it can get...
Um, it can get a little squirrelly.
[gentle music fades]
[Brian] Stryker? Rad?
[teens chatting]
- [Brian] Hey, guys!
- [Stryker] What?
I need you to pop... pop out for a second.
Ten, nine...
- [Brian] Hey, Rad.
- Hey.
[Brian] Listen, I need you
to check the freezers.
Have you guys been
managing the inventory like usual?
- Mm-hmm.
- [Brian] How's it look?
[Rad] It's, uh, kind of empty, actually.
How come you didn't tell me before?
Stryk, the freezers are relatively empty?
Yeah, I think so.
[Brian] How much space?
Half? Three-quarters?
Like three-quarters, yeah.
[Brian] Okay. Listen. Are you guys down?
I'm just gonna make sure that we can do it
because I especially want to get a bull.
- [Rad] Right.
- You guys solid?
- [teens] Mm-hmm.
- [Brian] I'll see you...
I will let you know.
- All right, see you in a minute. Thanks.
- See ya.
[indistinct chatter]
[gentle guitar music playing]
[teens speaking indistinctly]
I don't want you to sh**t that way,
obviously, for a very good reason.
Just put it at 150 yards.
- [man] It's a beauty, huh?
- So, those trees?
Once he goes down, guys, we run.
[Brian] Let's get us some...
some meat, y'all.
[g*n fires]
[bull breathing heavily]
[Brian panting]
What an honor it is
to be here with you, brother.
With your last breath.
You were somebody's friend.
A son.
Maybe a dad, but definitely a family.
We honor you, brother.
Yeah, yeah, boy!
[family] Yeah, boy!
[whimsical chimes playing]
[flesh tearing]
[Brian] You guys gonna still have
testicles for dinner?
I thought it was gonna be hard
to actually rip off, but...
- [Brian] Remember what we're sharing.
- [Stryker] Not so hard.
Cow testicles. [chuckles]
- Ice-cream sandwich.
- [Barbara laughs]
Yum.
[Brian] Okay.
Anybody for a second round?
- [Barbara] I'm done.
- [Rad] I'm full.
- Let's get to work.
- [Rad] I'm full.
[Brian] We need to eat.
And the connection that we gotta have
to bring my family out here
to fill the freezers, to fill our bellies...
My boys...
they know how to survive.
They know what they need to do.
[exhales] What do lungs carry?
- Oxygen.
- Air?
- [Brian] What element does it come from?
- [Stryker] Earth.
[Rad] What does oxygen come from?
[chuckles]
- Wind. Wind.
- [Rad] Wind.
And the wind is within us, is around us.
It fills our life force.
These guys that we all breathe from.
And you will too.
We think what we're doing
is the best path.
The most brutal possible f*ck' thing
I think you could do
is go to the grocery store,
go to Burger King.
That's horrific.
Come here, Rad.
Put your finger through here.
You know what you should do is put down
the f*cking phone. Start there.
And we just about...
- What's all the liquids? Is that blood?
- [Barbara] Yeah.
[Stryker] Maybe, Rad. Maybe it is blood.
[Brian] And just sit down and have dinner
around the table with your family.
Just do that.
Don't go do this right away.
You know, that's not happenin'.
It's like so close.
You can taste it.
[music peaks, fades]
- We got the liver!
- [man] Yeah, yeah, boy!
[Brian] Last time I think
Rad got in the cow.
- [chuckles] Mm-hmm.
- We got all the way inside.
And then we had
Child Protective Services called on us.
"You make your kids crawl inside animals
and eat testicles
and freeze them in the cold."
And she says,
"You need to go and visit with them!"
"They feed 'em Chick-fil-A
and candy and let them watch..."
"That's real child abuse."
I told my boys,
"Yeah. Just tell 'em exactly the truth."
And then she meets her,
and then she meets the boys,
and within about two minutes,
she's like, "What am I doing here?"
- [Barbara] Mm-hmm.
- You know, "What..." Like...
These kids are, like, amazing kids.
And so now she just comes,
"Oh, hey. Yeah... I have to come."
- [Barbara laughs]
- It's no big deal.
- Yeah.
- [Barbara] Yes.
So now, I'm gonna go hang out with them.
- Get outta my way!
- [adventurous music playing]
[Barbara] What?
[engine revs]
[John] We took this man
who was polarizing,
with a very strong marketing message,
and tried to impact positively
as many people in the world as we could.
And we did a damn good job of it.
Better than has ever been done.
[Brian] We're gonna get down
on the testicle.
It actually smells great.
[John] I don't think anybody was ready
for what was going to come out
when you have all these eyeballs on you.
He wasn't.
[intense string music playing]
[Brian] I usually do check
for emergencies,
right before goin' to bed.
And this thing came up on the group chat,
and it said, "Emergency."
So, I clicked on it,
and it was just a link.
I click on the link.
Leaked emails, blood test results,
and it is shocking, to say the least.
[Brian] I saw the video and everything.
I was just like,
"Who f*cking cares?
Like, I'm gonna even go to bed."
"And tomorrow just tell everybody
it's not true."
It would not be
very ancestrally consistent
to be using synthetic,
lab-synthesized drugs
to achieve the physique
you then use to promote
the "Nine Ancestral Tenets."
It's like the complete opposite
of what is aligned
with that message, essentially.
So, after two messages of me saying,
"f*ck it, same thing,"
they tell me the second mark to go to.
[Derek speaking indistinctly]
[Brian] So, I watch it.
This set of redacted emails
shows what appears to be Liver King
corresponding with a bodybuilding coach.
"As I've reached my mid-40s,
it's getting harder,
and the back fat f*cking kills me."
"To support these exhaustive efforts,
I've recently started taking Omnitrope."
So, if you guys don't know, Omnitrope,
this is pharmacy-grade
human growth hormone.
"$11,000 per month for my new dose,"
which is a f*cking really, really high,
super-expensive dosage
that, to be honest,
I know bodybuilders who compete at the...
[Brian] There's no denying that, man.
I knew he got me.
My queen's right here,
and we're sitting on the pew,
and it's dark, and...
And she says,
"You're not gonna admit anything, right?"
[unsettling music playing]
"You're not even an athlete."
"Like, you're just the Liver King
on social media."
"You're just trying to spread
to the world how we live, you know?"
So, yeah, I was...
pfft... I was all behind it,
not to share that part.
I'm still basically, like,
standing my f*ck' ground.
And she's like,
"Yeah, stand your ground, man."
"We f*cking got this."
[Derek] In general, the message
regarding lifestyle changes
that the Liver King is spreading
is arguably a positive one.
However, that is shrouded
in a cloud of deception.
I was just... I told...
I said, "Who f*cking cares?"
I'm like, "f*ck you."
"Who the f*ck are you?" You know.
"Give me a f*ck' break."
"What kind of harm
did I really f*ck' do?"
[host] Leaked emails show that Liver King
was taking almost $12,000 worth
of pharmaceutical HGH.
Liver King's been exposed. He's done.
Leaked emails, blood work, the lot.
The guy's on steroids.
He has been exposed
for being juiced out of his brain.
On the Internet,
it's always the same f*cking thing.
Every f*ck' name you wanna call me.
The Liver King,
apparently, is a filthy fraud.
- Hey, Derek. Know how I got so jacked?
- How?
- I followed the Nine Ancestral Tenets.
- [laughs]
- Oh, that... I heard that works really well.
- [laughs]
[echoing] It's the best way.
[gentle acoustic guitar music playing]
[John] Brian called me.
"John, what do we do?"
I'm like, "What do you mean,
what do you do?"
"You come clean
and you face this like a man."
[Brian] He kinda heard me out.
I tell him, "I'm gonna deny it.
This is what's gonna happen."
And I'm going this way.
I'm on the rocket ship.
Ships don't turn on a dime.
But they actually do. Unless you're
on a rocket ship, which I'm on.
"Any high schooler
can Photoshop anything today,"
is, uh, what I, like... almost verbatim.
And then somebody said back
that it would have to be
a really good Photoshopper,
and then you can sue the f*ck out of 'em
'cause it's defamation of character
unless it's true.
So, I mean, if it's, uh, not true,
you probably don't have
anything to worry about.
They denied it.
At that point, like...
[scoffs] I mean, like, anybody can have
assumptions along the way.
I truly believed he wasn't.
People are gonna see him
and say, "That's the f*ck' fraud."
And that's the sh*t, and that's
the reputation he has to live with.
Yeah. I called it way in advance.
"That guy's on the sauce."
- [woman] Just from looking at him?
- 100%.
I asked you
on my podcast if you did steroids,
and you lied to my f*ck' face.
I didn't know before it came out,
and so when it came out,
it caught me off-guard too.
That was... you know, I would say
a... a crack in our relationship,
was like, "Bro, I asked you that thing,
and you lied to me."
"Why would you do that?"
[somber strings playing]
[Ben] I think he thought
that the broader message
that he was putting out there
was more important than steroids.
And if steroids were a lever to amplify
the reach and impact of the message,
that was a... a price he was willing to pay.
- [interviewer] Is that the right decision?
- No.
[Brian] I knew I had to do something.
I didn't know what it was.
So I drove to the ranch, you know,
to make the apology video.
I'm making this video to apologize.
Because I f*cked up.
Because I lied.
While spreading the message,
I've been on several podcasts,
and when asked
if I've ever taken steroids,
I've always said,
"No, I don't touch the stuff."
"Not gonna touch the stuff.
Never touched the stuff."
That was a lie.
Ultimately, why did I,
or why do I do them?
[takes a deep breath]
When I talk about
the 85% of the population that suffers
from self-esteem issues, that's me.
[mother] Brian! Brian, which one is yours?
- [kid shouting]
- I was, uh, this young kid, man.
Like, an eight, nine-year-old kid.
I was picked on
and bullied and beat the f*ck up.
Nobody was there for me.
I just felt powerless.
The feeling of helplessness...
and completely lost.
My name is Brian. I'm not a genius.
[adult Brian] How come I don't have a dad?
Why don't I have some... someone else
to say something?
Why won't anybody say anything?
I just dreamt to be somebody else.
- If you think that's big...
- Where?
Zoom in, baby! Zoom in.
[mother] Zoom in on what?
[adult Brian] I just
was ashamed of it, really.
When you're that much smaller,
and you're different,
and you're that big of a target,
it's not just, like,
the figurative feeling of helplessness.
[hesitates] It's... it's true.
This is why I f*cking work myself
to death in the gym.
This is why I do 12 to 15
blood-burning workouts a week.
Just to feel like I'm okay.
Still, I have to absolutely crush myself
to do so,
and I'm wrecked physically
and cognitively.
And hormone replacement has helped
in a profound and significant way.
It's all fine and well,
telling stories around a campfire,
but when there are a million people
listening to ya...
[clicks tongue] ...I mean,
sh*t changes quick.
People were disappointed and hurt.
To me, he didn't deal with it right
because he's not sincere.
So, Liver b*tch, listen to me, all right?
You're on camera all day,
24 hours a day, filming bullshit,
but you can't come out
of the bullshit act facade
that you put on for people
in front of the f*cking camera?
I get the impression this is more of
an "I'm sorry I got caught" situation,
as opposed to an "I'm sorry I did it."
[man] He used the opportunity
as a sales pitch.
He was kind of defending why he did it,
kind of implying he did it
for all of the young people suffering.
You're not sorry for all the sh*t you did
and the people
you could've potentially hurt
by making them eat f*ck' ba*ls.
Icons everywhere
are disappointing their fans.
These... these people that we looked up to,
that we... we respected,
are... are proving themselves
to be not who they said that they were.
This is dumb, man. This is a f*ck'...
"You ran a con game,
and you got busted." [echoing]
[somber music fades slowly]
[interviewer] Did you mislead people?
Absolutely.
Yeah.
You want me to talk? Explain?
I...
had very little fail...
in traditional senses
of the word, failure.
[sighs, chuckles]
I don't know if I should say... Uh, f*ck.
I should just say everything,
and then I can te... I can just as...
f*ck it, I'll say everything.
f*ck all of it.
[upbeat, rhythmic music playing]
[excited chatter]
[Brian] So, my first job was at GNC.
And I used my brother's ID
'cause I wasn't old enough.
I couldn't believe it.
A 16-year-old running a GNC.
People would return stuff all the time,
and they would return it
pretty much empty.
And I still had
to give them their money back.
We had, like, this container
with all these empty things
that we would throw away.
So, why don't I just take
all the empty things?
Then I could go to another GNC,
and maybe I could get money for 'em.
But turns out, you need receipts.
And so, I stole all of the receipt rolls.
With enough trial and error, all you had
to do was make it work one time,
and then you just repeat it.
So, now we could print receipts
that proved that we bought
whatever it was that we were returning,
and it worked every single time.
And the things that I continued to do...
they got bigger.
Some of these, unbelievable.
You won't believe it.
I used to print money. A lot of it.
And it all worked.
I also made drugs... because I knew how to.
I turned my apartment
into a f*cking chemistry lab.
[laughs]
International drug trading, you know?
Higher stakes, higher reward.
My perception of risk
is becoming distorted.
[chuckles softly]
I just never got caught.
[Piers Morgan] Welcome back.
My next guest brought his lifestyle
to the mainstream with millions of fans.
But is his clean living all as it seems?
Thank you for joining me, uh, Brian.
Your Nine Ancestral Tenets,
which is what's made you
so rich and famous,
uh, are sleep, eat, move,
shield, connect, cold, sun, fight, bond.
But you've got to add another one now,
ten, which is steroid drug abuse.
How much do you think that has damaged
your reputation and your integrity?
We signed up for one thing,
and it's wildly apparent it's something...
It's morphed and evolved
into this crazy other thing.
- [gentle music playing]
- Um...
It's not... not how we do business.
[Harvey Levin] Why did you start,
knowing that, obviously,
you were deceiving followers?
You know, when I first made
my apology video,
I said this is a complicated topic.
At least, to me, it is.
I think what upset people so much is less
that you were doing steroids
and growth hormone.
It's that you were insisting,
up and down, that you weren't doing it.
Right.
We saw
existing subscription customers drop.
They responded by, you know, choosing
to not do business with us anymore.
[indistinct chatter]
[Ben] It's really unfortunate
that the messenger has k*lled the message.
[Brian groaning]
There was something really f*cked up
that happened.
I dug myself into this hole.
[Brian straining and panting]
Shame.
Sorrow.
Guilt.
Regret.
I feel that, man.
Oh, I've... I've...
Nothing's more real than that.
What should the Liver King do now?
What happens now?
He's not gonna make 100 million a year?
Yeah, Victor, what do you think happens?
Good question.
As quickly as you can grow,
as quickly as you can become successful,
it can all collapse.
[Brian] How do I repent?
What are the obstacles?
How do I remove those
in order to reconcile what I need to do?
[panting]
Of course, I'm trying to figure out what,
like, repent and atonement...
And googling, you know?
I don't know what comes next.
I don't have the answer to that yet.
Each day, you know, is anew,
and this one's gonna be no different.
Now we're here at a sacred spot.
What happened here, fellas?
[somber music fades]
Cow... bull... got dissected.
- [Brian] Brother bull.
- Mm-hmm.
[Brian] We got to share
his last moments of life, didn't we?
So, we honor you, brother bull.
Stryker, let's... let's get a connection.
We honor you, brother.
We're gonna go ahead
and give our offerings.
What did... What did you bring?
My soul. My body.
[Brian] I want you to take a minute or so,
spend some time with yourself,
and figure out what it is
that you hope to get out of today.
The connection today, what happens today,
I want you to be thinking
how valuable this is.
[intense, rhythmic music playing]
[exhales slowly]
[mud sloshing]
[Brian] We're about to get spiritual.
[Brian, echoing] How are we doing this?
Who is Liver King? What's the point?
[whistling]
[ominous music building]
[Brian] Maybe I should be done
with everything.
[grunts] f*ck, man.
[blowing horn]
[distorted recordings playing]
[mother] Brian, wake up.
[Joe Rogan] Derek, know how I got jacked?
I follow the Nine Ancestral Tenets.
- [laughter]
- [Joe Rogan, echoing] Bullshit.
[Brian] Who is Liver King?
"Everything you f*ck' talk about,
it makes sense."
[children clamoring]
- [unsettling music intensifies]
- [sounds distort]
[Brian] A lot of reels have nothing to do
with the ancestral message.
- [man 1] Serious?
- [Brian] About ego.
I'm still trying to get in my own way.
- Taking control of your f*ck' destiny.
- [vomits]
People always ask me,
"How do you stay so fit?"
[echoing] My kids were sick.
Dude, shut the f*ck up.
[kids clamoring]
- [man 2, echoing] Brian.
- [grunts]
[Brian] What the f*ck?
- [man 3] I just wish he hadn't lied.
- [man 4] Drug abuse.
[man 5] What upset people so much is...
- [man 6] You were deceiving followers.
- [man 7] Brian.
- [man 8] What's the point of this?
- [Brian] Maybe I should just be done.
[moaning]
[indistinct chanting]
- [mother] Brian, wake up!
- [music ends]
[triumphant horn music rises]
[Brian] I need the sun a little higher.
But if you place the berry, the fruit,
right in front of the sun,
you can actually see the sun through it.
And then its structures,
the life force inside of it.
That'd be called water.
[softly] Oh f*ck.
Mm.
Thank you, strawberry plant.
That's my toilet paper
for taking a sh*t this morning.
Most people don't know I take a sh*t
at the south end of the garden.
It's the best sh*t you can use.
You should see what grows over there.
I came out here
because I didn't know what the f*ck to do,
then I found a perfect strawberry.
Let's see if this one's sweet.
Thank you, strawberry.
This became my revival.
I couldn't take any of those drugs.
And then I started to live a f*cking life
that I didn't even know was possible.
I'm back in my twenties.
Not on anything.
I... I'm on this.
The vegetables and testicles,
I can have all of it.
I was so convinced,
all of the carnivore stuff,
"Well, that's... that's what you need
to really kick a*s in life."
I'm convinced now
that I was starving myself.
Yeah, I guess I want the world
to know I was wrong.
I got it wrong. I got all of it wrong.
I think, as each passing day goes by,
I realize I don't know sh*t.
There's more... There's a lot
that I don't know than I do know.
I think that's been a really enlightening,
insightful gift for me.
Like, an extreme approach to anything
probably ain't f*ck' working out.
Like, that's probably the cautionary tale.
[sniffs, exhales]
Thank you, melon.
I've told the truth in this movie, and...
Well, most of the truth.
The first part,
I was hiding some of the medica...
99% of the f*cking truth is what
I would suggest to you that I've shared.
[tender music playing]
[Brian] I love the man I am right now.
I probably would have told you that
back in January,
but I couldn't have meant it
the way I mean it now.
I know that I have made some massive
f*cking mistakes along the way.
And so, anyone that has a doubt around it,
I don't need your support.
Here's where we're going.
Did you see 'em look at us?
Oh, they're all looking.
Good morning!
Mornin'.
Yeah, yeah, boy!
I know for certain,
this is what I'm supposed to do.
I've not stopped doing
the Ten Ancestral Tenets.
It's the Ten Ancestral Tenets
under another... yeah.
Yeah, um...
Right now, the way that I create value,
or accept value,
the exchange of value, money,
is with supplements,
you know, by and large.
This is a way to do it.
We don't have to do supplements.
We can... I want to bring people
to every local place.
It's like a grocery store,
but it's actually the ranch.
You can stay there. You can there.
You can immerse in that kind of place.
A lot of people ask me, like,
"Why don't I have a retreat or something?"
We're gonna have 302 of 'em.
People say sh*t like "born again."
I don't f*cking know what...
how to describe it,
other than, uh... I feel like I was
just kind of meandering through.
Like I was the f*cking zombie of life.
I was so intense
and so focused on growth and numbers
and gettin' the message out.
I have this new freedom.
I don't have to lie about anything.
[gentle string music building]
When you get to a certain level,
I believe that somebody
just starts to believe their own lies
and the story they've told.
Polarizing story about childhood.
[Brian] I was picked on, bullied.
Nobody was there.
How come I don't have a dad?
Polarizing story about his children.
[Brian] My kids were really f*cking sick.
My kids were dying.
And very, very well-studied,
and took the best of ancestral living,
and packaged it up
in an elegant way and used it
as a supplement driving force.
Do I believe any of it is true?
I don't know what to believe anymore.
[Ben] The aperture
through which he allowed you
to look at his life was very... coordinated
and strategically planned
to... tell a story.
How much pressure does he feel
to tell a compelling story
as opposed to just being honest?
Like, this guy
maliciously planned out a lie.
He planned out a way to deceive people.
It's just unfortunate that a lot
of people lose sight of themselves
and the difference
between right and wrong,
when it comes to making money.
[Derek] Snake oil salesman
promoting absolute nonsense.
Misleading, disingenuous things.
Some stuff that is just
a straight-up rip-off, entirely.
The one thing I can't stand
is scammers, con artists,
and f*ck' liars.
And the liver man,
he's one big f*ck' one of them.
[tense music playing]
[Ben] We're so inundated with input
that when somebody starts speaking
with conviction,
it's easy to say,
"Maybe he's onto something,"
and when there is a... a kernel of truth
at the... the center of the message,
it's easy to, uh, focus on that
and ignore, uh, the other variables
that aren't aligned with that kernel.
[Brian] I told him about your,
uh, museum ring.
You haven't seen it? [chuckles]
- What? Oh! Which one is it?
- This one.
I knew that.
I gave it to her for my birthday.
You know, our aim is
to change the trajectory
of human health in our lifetime.
We have the responsibility to do that.
We can do that.
[Ben] I would say,
yeah, just be careful who you follow.
Words don't matter.
Actions are everything.
Liver King, to me, has now
represented everything that is wrong
with our culture,
which is ensnaring millions
of vulnerable young men,
including and especially teenagers,
who are seeking to better their lives,
but are taken in by outright charlatans.
He's a liar, but he's a mirror
to our own broader failings.
In a society where proper discussion
about health, fitness, masculinity,
diet, and more
are not properly celebrated,
charlatans like him arise
to fill the vacuum.
What does that do to the ideas that have
actually had a positive impact
for so many people?
Like, "What are we... What are we risking
through a reckless relationship
with the truth?"
Look, there it is...
I'm the king to her queen.
You know, and our reign
has just f*ck' started.
[Barbara] Mm-hmm.
Everything in our lives
has led us to where we are.
Not good or bad. It was perfect.
I would... yeah! [laughs]
I was like, "Hold the f*ck on."
"Not good or bad. It was good..."
- "It was perfect."
- Uh-huh.
Block, delete, Liver King and...
- Liver Queen.
- Out.
- [both laugh]
- Or not.
- [tense music subsides]
- [lively, rhythmic music playing]
[music fades out]
