Heck, I myself remember riding them

bumper cars back in '68 with Mavis Floyd.

Then sneaking off into The Tunnel of Love

with Grace Olson

while Mavis was waiting for popcorn!

[chuckles]

[audience laughing]

from Dreamland,

the unexpected, remarkable, and rare,

We have an authentic,

genuine Balinese doll.

Nina, the dancing puppet

with the jingling bells.

- [bells jingling]

- That's a tune to the ears, ain't it?

- That is gold leaf sequins in the eyes,

- ladies and gentlemen.

- Nina!

She is a prize, and we're gonna

start the bidding off at $2.

[Zozo] Oh, Nina. At last, I am free.

And although it seems like a lifetime

has passed since we parted,

your memory sustains me.

And neither time, nor distance,

nor the chill of night

shall keep me from you.

I saw some familiar faces

from Dreamland today.

The Furberries, Lloyd and Tina,

even old Peanuts was there.

My heart swelled as I hoped

to find you there amongst them.

But it seems I have miles to go

before I sleep,

and my search for you continues.

A speck of hope came gliding

into the Kenwood Drive-In.

Pigtails twirling

in front of a silver screen.

And although I wasn't led to you,

sweet Nina

I discovered a new friend.

[man on film] I'm afraid what you describe

is impossible.

I've sought Captain Bloodstone's

treasure for 13 years,

and all I've done is fail.

[woman on film]

That's because you started alone,

but if we worked together, you and I,

as partners, nothing is impossible.

[dramatic music playing]

[Zozo] She was as battered as I once was.

But I mended her,

as you once mended my heart.

She is perhaps

the toughest creature I ever met.

Loyal, brave,

a warrior sewn and stuffed into the body

of a candy-colored teddy bear.

Lord, she's got a mouth on her.

She sounds like a hillbilly trucker

at a bar on payday.

But although she'd never admit it,

she has the kindest, sweetest soul.

And while nothing, nothing could

ever replace your presence, my dear Nina,

she's become a true friend and is

as committed to finding you as I am.

The road is less lonely

with her by my side.

[indistinct chatter]

Years I've searched for you now, Nina.

But not a whisper of your presence.

[inaudible dialogue]

I hold to hope, Nina.

But I'm beginning to believe

that there is none to be found.

It has cast a shadow upon my soul.

A shadow that grows by the hour.

And I fear that it shall soon overtake me.

[ominous music playing]

[whimpering]

My sorrow has pushed me

to do dark things, Nina.

I am drowning in the horror of it.

And I refuse to drag Rosy down with me.

I have returned to the place

I first searched for you, my beloved Nina.

Our Dreamland friends are all gone.

Just memories now.

It's been said that time passes over us,

but leaves its shadow behind.

I'm lost in that shadow.

Drifting from light into darkness,

as the years march on

and on

and on.

Dear Rosy, Nina is lost.

I fear I'm lost too.

Do not follow me.

I have no wish to be found.

All your yammering about Billy

has gotten us nowhere.

Zozo, this ain't you.

You're kind and funny,

Things get lost!

[thunder rumbling]

Rosy? Help him.

I'm sorry, Zozo.

I really am.

I just want to go home.

I got bad news for you.

You ain't going home.

And I'm gonna pull you apart,

stitch by stitch,

until you tell me what I need to know.

[Rosy] Zo, wait.

If you jump to that now,

you may never find out the truth.

Go for a stroll.

Let me see what I can do.

Fine, you take a stab at him.

Now, I know you can sometimes

be a bit soft on these things.

So don't let me down, girl.

Rosy, are you gonna be okay?

I'm a part of this, Ollie.

I'm a part of all these ugly things

that are happening to you.

[melancholy music playing]

[thunder rolling]

[sighs]

Hey, Billy?

[knocks on door]

[Ollie] Rosy?

What happens next?

I don't know.

I ain't decided yet.

You don't always have to do

what Zozo says.

I got a mind of my own.

He wasn't always like this.

First thing I remember

was Zozo's face looking down at me.

He was all smiling,

like he was pleased as punch to see me.

Those were better days.

We traveled the world together.

He was funny and kind and sweet.

He was beautiful.

That's when I saw his soul.

I loved him then, Ollie.

I still do.

But now he's just eat up by pain.

[Zozo] Hey! I ain't hearing no screams.

[Rosy] I thought

you should have this back.

Have one more memory.

Before I do what I gotta do.

My favorite memory

might push out some of your bad ones.

The most perfect day.

A snow day.

[upbeat music playing]

Snow days are the best,

like a dream, but

eventually, snow melts,

and we gotta go back to the real world.

We follow the map and

The best way past Zozo

is through the Tunnel of Love.

I'll distract him.

Once you're out,

find a way back to the creek

and follow those memories back to Billy.

Don't go getting all soft now.

Old cactus-arm might change her mind.

you'd have to deal

with a rabid patchwork bunny.

[Rosy] Zozo!

All those years I searched for you.

Traveled miles and miles.

Gave up a lot.

It's okay, 'cause we're together again.

Nina's lost, but you don't have to be.

[ominous music playing]

I was trying to be nice!

'Cause I was sort of

starting to like you a little!

But now, I'm gonna make it hurt!

[Rosy] Leave him alone, Zo.

Get off of me!

Get off!

- I hate you!

- I don't care!

I just need you to leave him be!

[screams]

Rosy!

I wish I never brought you back to life!

I wish you were still where I found you!

Dead in the mud!

[screaming]
