What kind of music?To quit.

The pizza place. The pizza place, That's

fine.

Nothing.

What kind of music would it be?

Absolutely nothing.

Come on, come on. Where are those pizzas?

Can't you hear the horn? The customers

are here to pick up their water.

That can go any faster you can make

believe.

I'm sorry, Sherry, but you know, we got a

lot of pizzas to deliver and, and, and

Junior told me that I'm in charge. You're

running this place while he's at his

guitar lesson. So, you know, I'm just

trying to do the best I can. Yep, I

understand, but you're being too bossy.

Fluffy, now come on, come on. I'm just

one of the guys. All right, now come

on, get your tootsies moving. I'm going

to cancel your lunch break. Ohh.

This is big business and business is

good. We got a lot of hungry neighbors in

our neighborhood.

Everybody's business and no one seems to

mind that I'm busy, busy, busy, busy,

busy body flying like a Hummingbird and

spinning like a top.

I put the hurry in hurricane art

with the get up and go out

with the move in, move it on

out. I pay you moving to fly.

Yeah.

Body. Dizzy. Dizzy body. Absolutely

nobody is busier than me. You're

not even moving.

We were having fun. I

love to bake things, love

to do thing while this

thing is overdone.

Busy, busy, busy, busy, busy body

practically pooping. Maybe permanently

Max.

I am just amazed.

Blame it on my busy, busy body.

Good, good health these days.

Come on, move it.

This is them.

OK. This

is my mom, Melanie. Thank

you, Ruby.

Nice to meet you, Melanie.

Hear you.

It's very nice to meet you.

Nothing.

Because.

Hey, I'm sorry you guys had to

wait so long for your pizza. No

problem, I brought sandwiches just in

case. You brought sandwiches. Teasing.

You're talking. Sure. I only lost my

hearing in an accident last year.

OK, I'm coming, Charlie Horse.

Yeah, well, junior guitar lesson and

where is take out? He is taking

a junior lifeguard course every morning.

And did he start right after he

saw his first episode of Baywatch? I

base working very hard. Yeah, I bet

he's working very hard. Well, let me tell

you, it isn't easy for me.

Of course, the only one who could fill

those size 20 twos would be Big Bird.

Yeah, and that's only if Kermit was

stuffed in that tall.

Ohh, I sure could use some help today,

let me tell you. Start taking it and

stop faking it rookies. Mommy goodhealth.

Ohh no.

Actually, I'm looking for work. My mommy

is a really good cook. A good cook. But

you know that I should be able to find

you something. But something. Could you

be finding her? I'm the only cook around

here. It must be my something if she's

going to find her mice.

Start looking for another something,

otherwise I'll have nothing. Ohh, this is

really something. You know, there's a lot

of restaurants opening up down on the

boardwalk. How about here? Here I'd love

to thank. Ohh, no. You see, Cookie is my

chef and he's all the cook I can handle.

Some cook, serve food I wouldn't even

swim with.

It's opening across the street. OK, OK,

write down your phone number and I'll

see if there's a cooks job open.

This cooks job isn't open. It's my

job. Oh my God.

I'm fine. I'm just fine.

Cookie just clearing my throat.

Have you ever thought of getting one of

those dogs for the deaf? Dog for the

deaf? Uh-huh. Hello. Just as there are

seeing eye dogs that people who can't

see, there are dogs for the deaf that

are trained to listen for their master

and then tell the owner. When something

is a problem, you know.

Hello, maybe I can help. What do

you mean? Well I am a doggy

and I can hear real good. In

fact I'm all ears.

Yeah, well, darling.

You really have to be trained. Trained

in spots under carpet. Happened with lamb

chops. Spilled the apple juice. I know

that it's OK. When

I say I mean trained to help a person who

can't hear either do that, well, a

hearing dog has to be able to listen for

a phone to ring and then let the master

know I could do that. Or if there's a

fire alarm, that kind of a dog has to be

trained to lead the people to safety.

Cannot do that. I don't think so.

I'll bet those hearing dogs are very

expensive. Hey guys, we're going to try

to get Melanie ohh really good cooks

job so that if she wishes she

can afford to get one of these

helpful dorms.

I can't wait to find out how to

take out Lifeguard. Please. You kidding?

I'll bet you'll be good, right? When

people find out that takeout is

responsible for saving their lives,

nobody's going to want to go near the

water. Ohh, Junior. Yeah, you

must have just finished his depression.

Hiya, buddy. Hey, yo, take out half your

life. God, please go. Pretty good. But my

lifeguard teacher was a little mad at me.

Well, I was the teacher mad because I was

saving a bunch of people. Teacher was mad

because you were saving people. He says

they gotta be.

Ohh geez, some people.

Hey Mr. you dropped some change. Alright,

keep it kid, I like your playing.

Let's go and we'll get our instruments

and we can leave the cases open and

we'll be rich. You know, if we could

make some money, we could help Melanie

buy one of those expenses here in our

dogs. You know, we could really make some

money if we all played together, invited

people.

I don't believe it, I think I just had an

idea.

What did you say?

I know that must be in concert.

When people play music together.

Excuse me?

Take a number.

OK, excuse me now

serving #44 ohh. Excuse

me, are you 44?

No, I'm #49 now

serving #45 there's no

one here. I have

a. System. We go by the

rules.

Now serving #46.

#47.

#48.

#49 Yes, Madam, How

can I help you?

Oh Oh yes, my kids are putting on

a benefit concert at my restaurant, The

Music Pizza, and I would like to hang

the poster in the window if you please.

You're not buying anything? Well, not

today, but you know #50 I'll send over

a free pizza, 2 toppings done. Put it

up, thank you.

Wonderful to see you. Thank you. Good to

see you. How are you picking out some

music for your show? No, no, I I can't

just pick up a 2A, hang up a poster. But

you know, actually that's a very good

idea. We should pick up some sheet music

for my kids band. Charlie Horse and Lamb

Chop have a band. Ah, a frightening

thought, isn't it? Are they any good? Is

there any good? Well, the last time they

played on the beach, the seagulls held

their own. You know, want to

miss this? I haven't seen them since they

were this little, little, little. And

they're still there. Little little. Why

don't you come? You can say hello to them

and I'll treat you to a pizza. If I come,

do you think I'll get a chance to hear

them rehearse? Well, yes, But if you take

my advice, you'll eat first.

Of dogs for the deaf and Hazel. Well, you

know, I can hear as good as any dog. Say

some say anything. Hush, puppy, I have

told you, you are not trained to be a

hearing dog. You are not qualified to be

a hearing dog and you are not going to be

a hearing dog. Yes, ma'am, I really heard

that. When we assign you a dog of your

own, it'll take a couple of training

sessions for you to learn how to work

with your dog and for him to get to know

you. Yeah, but you see, I already know

that. Hush, puppy.

As I was saying, you'll work with your

dog. But I wanted to show you some of the

tricks and helpful things that a hearing

dog knows. OK, let's play pretend. OK,

what would happen, Lori, if a mommy can't

hear when the telephone rings?

Great.

Umm, amazing. Good

job.

OK, now what happens if

a person like Laurie can't

hear and someone calls her

Laurie? Hey, Laurie. Laurie.

Ohh Lori, hey, how you doing? Thank you

again.

What was that little round black fog? It

landed on the G line. When I played the

note it flew away. That's too bad, I

really liked that note. Take out.

Maybe one day it'll fly back and we

can play it again.

OK guys, I brought the little boom box.

Where's the rest of the band?

Supposed to play music, not chase it.

I don't know what I'm gonna do. Because

without the music.

You can sing a song without words. Yeah,

yeah, sure, sure. It's called ****

singing, cats singing. Meow, meow, meow.

No, no, no, no, not cat singing. Singing.

How do you doing? Well, you you start

with the tune that you know, but instead

of the real words, you sing words that

you make. That don't mean anything.

Diddly, diddly or doodly Doodly

or diddly, doodly, doodly, doodly.

Or using words of just one

syllable. Alright, let's just sound like

a syllable. A syllable is a

sound. It's or a part of

a word like bop.

That's right.

Beep.

Start with the letter B. That must make

it hard for you. No, A syllable can

be do or die or Lou or LA.

Ohh, alright, I've heard you sing on a

syllable. Alright, you sing La La, la,

la, la, la, la. You want me to

sing that at the concept? Well, sure. You

know.

You don't have to think about because

thinking gets in the way of sketch

singing. Yeah, but. Mary had a little

lamb.

Well, that's OK. It won't be a baby song

when we get through with it. But what do

I do? Well, you make this sound. What

sound does a lamb make? You know, a lamb

like you. I say Hello. How are you? How's

the family? No, no, no, no, no. A lamb

like you, but one that's on a farm.

OK. But instead of

the words.

Uh-huh. And there's your

key.

Good, do, good

now sing do

and one after

another. Yeah.

Scared.

Now you're on your way.

Sing your favorite song.

You can't go wrong.

That don't mean a thing.

Should be.

And you can sing me

your song. OK, now listen

to me.

Fat, fat, fat.

In the bathtub.

Chicken wing and then

you're ready to sing.

Really, it's easy, you see.

You know one of the fun things to do

when you squat singing is to improvise on

the melody like these. Improvised means.

It means that you change the tune while

you're singing. You play around with it

to. Improvising is an important part of

the music called jazz.

Can I try it?

If I wanted to.

Just one.

You gotta learn

when to stop.

I've lost my job and I got to

find something else to do for a living.

Let's see, truck driver, no pole vaulter.

Brain Surgeon.

I just have to be a cook. Is there

anything I ought to do? And I'm not so

sure you know how to do that so well.

What's going on here? You haven't even

started lunch. Ohh. You're so cool

knowing full well that I'm finished here,

that I'm all washed up. Yeah, well, when

you're finished washing up, would you

please start lunch? I've got customers

waiting and it's so cruel. Sherry talking

about, you know, you know something?I'm a

human being.

And you got 10 minutes to make lunch.

Let's go. Where are the cookies? Right

here. Thank you. The children. You're

welcome, Cheese Whiz. I'm gonna miss her.

OK, who's ready for some

ooey gooey, lumpy, dumpy cookies?

Where is everybody?

I do believe that we are in the United

States, yes, but I meant where were you

and what happened to you? Ohh we was all

chasing our music and I fell into the

water and take out had to save me. I'll

get even with take out later. I better go

down to the beach and look for that

music. Would

you care to pass me a nice

smelling, mouth watering, gooey, gooey

gummy yummy in your tummy cookie? How

can you think of eating a cookie

at a time like this? Ohh, you're

right Charlie Horse, it's way too early.

How about now? I don't know what we're

gonna do. Without our music, we can't put

on a concert. Without a concert, we

cannot raise the money to get Melanie

that dog. Hey, guys, how you doing?

Yeah, I know you. You are Diana Krall,

and you must be Charlie Horse. And that's

right, I knew you when you were just

starting to grow teeth. Ohh man, now

that's the biggest part of his whole

body. Ohh, you have puppies?

Do you know who you're talking to and

talking to? You know you're talking to

Diana Krause, the great jazz singer and

piano player. He's Speaking of musician.

How's it going with your band? Oh, oh,

she had to bring that up. Ohh. Everything

was great, you know, until, until the

wind came and just.

Right into the ocean. Ohh, I can't stand

it up. Ohh. OK, tell you. And you

know, we didn't get a chance to learn

the music, and so now we can't play

nothing. Ohh. You don't need written

music to play. Yeah, like peanut butter

doesn't need Jelly. I mean, we can't make

music without our our. I

don't know about that. Charlie Horse.

What do you mean? Let's try something. Do

you think you can beat out the rhythm to

your name on the drums? Rhythm to my

name? Yeah. Yeah, sure. Charlie Horse.

Charlie Horse. That's great.

If you can see it. You can

play it.

You can find a way to say it.

London Bridge is falling down.

Falling down. Falling

down. London Bridges.

Falling down.

My Fair Lady.

If you can pump it.

Ohh dear, what can the matter be?

Charlie so long, the Charlie so

long at the fair all around

the Mulberry Bush.

The monkey.

The monkey.

If you can, you can pound

it.

Dog.

Ran up the clock.

The clock struck one, the mouse ran down.

Hickory Dickory Dickory

Dickory Dock.

London Bridges.

Hickory, Dickory.

There we go.

Whose fleece was white as snow?

Everywhere she went.

Hey cookie, lunch was

delicious. Ohh. Yeah, So what

else is new?

Marinara sauce? Umm, why don't

you ask your new chef,

Melody?What are you talking about?

Yes. No, no, no, no cooking. Your job is

is is just that. It's it's your job.

Really. Really. You mean ohh, Absolutely.

Could I have it positively. And it's not

going to you. You, you are the king of

my kitchen. Me, me, me. I'm the king.

This is your Kingdom Kingdom.

It can't be mine like

we could.

We will never end.

Umm.

I know that we'll still be

friends. We

will still be

friends.

The Charlie Horse.
