Dogcathalon: Part One.

Do I smell...
muffins?

Rise and shine, Barkers!

Oh, no.
Bad news muffins?

Worse, emergency muffins!

The Dogcathalon race is today!

Today?

But it wasn’t supposed
to happen until Saturday!

Sorry, I got mixed up.

It turns out Saturday
is the Frogcathalon.

But don’t worry,
I’m ready for that.

But we’re not ready for
the Dogcathalon!

Can we have more time?

Sadly, no.

The Dogcathalon Top Dog
is very strict,

and he’s arriving soon
to check on everything.

And if Pawston isn’t ready...

He’ll move the race
to Beverly Howls.

The home of
the Terrier Triplets?

Yep, they said their town
is ready.

No way.

As Pawston Crew Chief,

I’ll be sure we’re ready,

starting with decorating
the town centre.

And I can head over
to the Speedway

to start setting up there.

And I’ll try to keep
Mr. Top Dog busy

while you’re all working.

And we’ll all cheer
for you from our bed.

Let’s go, dogs, go!

This is Scooch Pooch, coming
to you live from Tag’s scooter

as we head to
the town centre to decorate.

Scooch, I’m so glad you’re
doing the play-by-play

announcing for the race.

You sound great!

Thanks.

What’s not so great
is the mess that

Tag and Scooch are
about to drive into.

Cheddar Biscuit,
what’s going on?

We’re rehearsing
our circus show!

Banana cream.

Nice.

The Dogcathalon race
is today,

and this is where
the entire race will start.

So we need everything cleaned
and these decorations hung.

But, Tag, that’s impossible.

We got banana
cream pies everywhere.

See what I mean?

The Top Dog is coming!

Cheddar, listen to me.

I watch you do impossible
things all the time.

If anyone can do this, it’s you.

You know what?
You’re right.

I got this, Tag.

Great.
We’ll go distract the Top Dog.

Just honk when you’re done.

And this over here is a tree.

Ooh, maybe we should sniff it.

Mmm, so oaky.

Mayor Sniffington, perchance
are you’re trying to distract me

because the town centre
isn’t ready?

Why would you think
the town centre isn’t ready?

It’s not ready.

I beg your pardon?

What I mean is, we’re not
ready to show it to you

until we introduce ourselves.

I’m Tag Barker, Crew Chief
for Team Pawston,

and I’m Scooch Pooch.

Play-by-play race announcer

But I need to see the
town centre since that’s

where the pilots will

And we’ll be happy
to take you there.

Right after you see our
Dogcathalon welcome tap dance.

This is so exciting.

Ta-da!

Now let’s show you
the town centre.

Finally.

The Pawston Town Centre.

Very nice, but how’s
the riverfront looking

-for the boat race?
-So ready.

Scooch and I are going there
now to see how ready it is.

It’s not ready.
Slow him down.

See you soon.
Gotta run. Bye.

Hey Top Dog, why don’t we take a
nice long stroll down the river,

maybe stop to sniff the roses?

Ooh, here’s a bunch.

Ooh, oh yes, lovely.

Tag, there’s no way we can
get everything done in time.

Maybe there’s something
we can do?

Yes, if you can head to
the Speedway to help Sam,

we’ll head to the riverfront.

Go, dogs, go!

Doggy wash obstacle
coming through.

A little to your left.

Perfect.

And done.

I think we’re ready.

We’re not ready!

Hey Leo, what’s wrong?

There’s no finish line.

if I won the race?

the race to Beverly Howls?

Nope, because I have an idea.

Lady Lydia, can you make us
a finish line for the race?

Of course.

Awesome.

It will be ready in one year.

A year?

Why yes, I need to gather
all my materials

and then go to finish
line making school.

On second thought,
make it two years.

Lydia, listen to me.

I believe you can do
anything you set your mind to

because you’re one of the most
talented dogs in all of Pawston.

Oh, what a lovely thing to say.

And all true.

Let me get to work.

Tag, the Top Dog is coming.

We need to slow him down.
Come on.

Mr. Top Dog, hi!

I just remembered you didn’t

Because Tag will pretend
to be a race car.

This is Scooch
Pooch coming to you live

as we watch a
super speedy furry race car

What a thrill.

I am not enjoying this.

Cut some ribbon.
